No Plans for PUBG Single-Player, Greene Wants PC/Xbox One Cross-Play

In a recent Reddit AMAPUBG creator Brendan Greene stated that he “would love to add a single-player campaign” to the game. This got a few fans speculating about possible story missions and other fun solo activities. Unfortunately, Greene has once again spoken about single-player, but only to shoot the notion down.

In an interview with GameSpot, Greene stated that there isn’t enough time or resources to invest in a single-player.

“Because of the lore of the island, there was an idea that I had for what I thought would be a pretty cool single-player [mode] … And even co-op single-player campaign. We have no resources. We have no time. We have no plans to add anything like this to the game. No, no single-player is coming to Battlegrounds.”

One feature that Greene does want to see implemented into the game, however, is cross-play between PC and Xbox One players.

“Because the experience is going to be the same on both platforms, we really want these players to play together … How we do that fairly is another question … It’s something we’re looking into, but right now we don’t have anything to say about it. But we would like to see it happen. But how we do that requires a bit of work.”

There’s gonna have to be some serious testing done to make sure Xbox One players can fight fairly against PC keyboard and mouse users. I’m looking forward to hearing more on that!

In other PUBG news, the recent update was 2.1GB in size and included changes to the Blue Zone damage, a direct sequel to the game isn’t going to happen anytime soon, and this PUBG copycat clone actually looks impressive!

Top 5 PUBG Tips for Beginners (and Veterans!)

This time on Pixel Enemy, I’ve published a video that details the best tips for beginners. These include setting up your HUD, the best ways to stay alive, and how best to practise with weapons.

Click “play” on the video above to give it a watch, and be sure to leave any thoughts of your own in the comments below.

“This is Mack, for Pixel Enemy, here to help you get better at PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. This video is mainly intended for newer players, but I imagine a lot of these tips will be useful to veterans, as well.

I’ll be avoiding the more obvious pointers like “taking things slow,” “lower your graphics settings” and “wear headphones,” since that’s all pretty much common sense. No, this video will focus on the more useful tips that should actually help you get better.

And so, without any further ado, here are my top five PUBG tips for beginners (and some veterans, too).”

PSA: Be Careful of Call of Duty: WWII Leaks From Early Release Copies

With Call of Duty: WWII’s retail release just a few days away, it seems some people have managed to get their hands on early copies of the game, which is quickly becoming the norm when it comes to every year’s Call of Duty entry.

Over on Instagram (via Reddit), we can see someone from UAE post a pic of an actual disc that looks legit, and couple it with the country’s reputation for selling games early (seriously, Google it), well, this is most likely the real deal.

While we’ve posted leaks regarding COD: WWII before, we won’t be posting any story-specific stuff or spoilers, since we believe it’s better to tackle the single-player campaign fresh.

You can check out the COD: WWII Trophies/Achievements list (some might be considered spoiler-y). Or if you’re into multiplayer, scroll through these “sweetheart grips” gun customization that’s new to the franchise.

Stay tuned for MP1st’s review of Call of Duty: WWII where we’ll cover the single-player, and of course, go in-depth with multiplayer like no one else can. If you’re interested in multiplayer, you’ll want to read our review.

Destiny 2 Update 1.0.6 Preview & Planned Improvements Detailed

Destiny 2 future updates are the hottest topic of discussion in this week’s Bungie developer blog post. With new PC players flooding the game’s universe, even more eyes are on Bungie, watching and waiting for their next move.

In a tease of what’s to come, Bungie’s game director Christopher Barrett detailed “a short list” of what the dev team is working on:

  • New systems and rewards to give our most engaged players additional, optional pursuits.
  • Better incentives for players who complete challenging Prestige activities.
  • Better rewards and replay value for strikes, adventures, and Lost Sectors.
  • Private matches for the competitive community (we are targeting early 2018).
  • Crucible tuning like adjusted Supremacy scoring and better spawning rules.
  • Better incentives for completing Crucible matches (and penalties for quitting competitive games).
  • Continued improvements to Iron Banner and Faction Rallies, including uniqueness of rewards.
  • Changes to make the mod economy more interesting and impactful.
  • Ongoing improvements to Exotics, including adjustments to reduce instances of duplication.
  • New ways to spend surplus currency and materials (looking at you Legendary Shards).
  • An emote interface that allows players to equip Salty, Spicy Ramen, Six Shooter, and Flip Out all at the same time.

As for what’s coming next week with patch 1.0.6, Bungie also gave a glimpse at some of the upcoming changes:

General
Fixed an issue with collision detection on the Bureaucratic Walk emote
Fixed an issue causing players to encounter empty public spaces too often in free roam

Crucible
Updated Mercy Rule settings to allow Mercy to activate slightly later in the match, allowing a wider range of scores to trigger it.
Clash
Reduced score limit to 50 (was 75)
Control
Reduced score limit to 90 (was 100)
Reduced influence that enemy-controlled zones exert over the spawning system
Survival
Reduced round time limit to 2 minutes (down from 3)
Reduced life count to 6 (down from 8)
Supremacy
Increased score-to-win to 70 (up from 50)
We now grant one point for defeating an enemy Guardian
Adjusted the influence that enemy crests have on the spawning system

There will be other improvements and fixes made next week, but we’ll have to wait for the full list of patch notes to know exactly what has been tweaked.

In other Destiny 2 news, a giant Pokéball Easter egg has been found in the game, possible future DLC locations and info has been leaked, and the game has become the best-selling console game of 2017 in the US.

Microsoft Intellimouse Being Resurrected With a Refreshed Design

Microsoft’s Intellimouse is as classic as the ’90s Lamborghini Diablo, with a sleek design, a scroll wheel(yes, this wasn’t a default feature back then) and two side buttons for that extra “oomph” in your workflow.

Now, Microsoft is bringing back the mouse in a sleek and updated design after discontinuing the 3.0 five years ago. The refreshed design features five buttons, three of which are customizable, a scroll wheel, and an ergonomic design similar to the original. For comparison for those power user, it looks to be as ergonomic as Logitech’s MX Master series.

The mouse doesn’t have a launch date, but for those looking for a price, it starts out at a cool $40 USD. You can eyeball the store page here if you’d like to keep a look out for when it drops.

This latest WWE 2K18 update includes Road to Glory fixes, fixes cutscenes, crashing issues a lot more. Check out the complete WWE 2K18 patch notes below (via the 2K forums)

• Fixed issue with PSN wait time and matchmaking times in Road to Glory.

Highlight Video:

• Create a video – added the ability to choose from cutscenes using the following entrance, promo, and universe/career. From these sub options you can choose the cast (wrestlers) for the highlights.

General Bug Fixing
• Gameplay: The referee fails to count pin falls or disqualifications in 8-man matches with entrances on in gameplay.
• Fixed an issue where Ref doesn’t count the pin in Tag Team matches when entrances are enabled.

• Fixed crash that would occur when starting a user-created Self-Promotion Promo.

• Fixed Royal Rumble winners being booked into title matches for the World Title of both co-hosting shows at WrestleMania.
• Fixed some cases where rivalries would break and lead to continuous One-on-One and Two-on-Two matches between the rivals.
– Note: This patch will not retroactively fix a broken rivalry.

• Fixed cutscenes where the wrong Superstars are shown, or where Superstars are swapped.
• Reduced chances of Falls Count Anywhere matches being booked on Major Shows.

– Title rivalries will be randomized between Medium and Long durations.

Hopefully, this new title update will fix a lot of WWE 2K18’s glitches. If you care what they look like, check out this post to see ’em in motion.

Cliff Bleszinski on Press Reporting LawBreakers Low Player Count: They’re Looking for Clicks

It’s no secret that LawBreakers has had a hard time engaging players since it’s release. While it’s unfortunate that the gaming populace hasn’t really embraced LawBreakers as much as Boss Key Productions would have liked, we (the gaming press) still have to report on these things. Well, apparently, the only reason we’re doing it is only for clicks — at least according to Boss Key head honcho, Cliff Bleszinksi.

In an interview with Games Industry, Belszinski had a few choices words for the gaming media, that they (we) can “fuck off.”

They’re just looking for clicks, man. They’re just looking for ad revenue. We’re going to keep doing what we’re doing, and they’re welcome to print whatever they want – but as far as I’m concerned, they can fuck off. We’re going to keep making our game for our fans.

In the same interview, Bleszinksi says that everyone who has played LawBreakers “loves it,” and cites Steam reviews of the game as an example.

While LawBreakers might not have a big player base, Boss Key is still actively supporting the shooter with new maps, game balances and more

Does Bleszinksi have a point? Are the gaming media too harsh on LawBreakers and like ragging on the game for ad revenue? Let us know what you think in the comments.

Free Call of Duty: WWII PS4 Avatar for Completing a Super Easy Mission

If you missed it, we posted a way for gamers to get a free Call of Duty: WWII dynamic PlayStation 4 theme yesterday. Well, today, there’s more. The live.playstation.com page has a new “mission” that will get you a free COD: WWII PS4 avatar upon completion!

All you have to do is click on “Quests,” which will then direct you to today’s mission which is to watch the “Squads” COD: WWII trailer that pops up. Upon completion (it took me at least three times of watching it to finally work), you’ll get a code which you can redeem on the PSN Store for a new COD:WWII avatar. Note that same as yesterday’s, this is for NA (R1) PS4 accounts only. But if you want to get it, go create a US account and follow the steps, and then revert back to your original account once you’ve redeemed the key.

If you’re curious what it looks like, well, here you go:

free call of duty ww2 ps4 avatar

If my hunch is correct, it seems we’ll be getting daily missions with daily rewards until launch. If so, we’ll be sure to report on it if and when it happens.

You can also check out how big the COD: WWII PS4 file size is if you’re planning on going digital. Thre’s also the COD: WWII Trophies/Achievements list which does contain spoilers.

Destiny 2 FOV Slider Explanation

[tps_header]

While Destiny 2 has been out for over a month on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Bungie’s shared-world shooter just debuted on PC this week. Now, for those who jumped ship to the PC version of Destiny 2, you might have noticed that there are more graphical options compared to the console versions.

One such feature that’s exclusive to PC is a Destiny 2 FOV slider. For those unfamiliar with the term, an FOV (Field of View) slider lets you adjust how wide your field of view is. If this is the first time you’re tweaking it or have heard of it, don’t be embarrassed since you’re not the only one. Over on Reddit, user Reynbou made a post explaining it.

Ex-NeoGAF Members Form a New Forum “ResetEra,” Registration Set to Open Soon

If you’re a video game enthusiast, then there’s a very good chance that you’ve heard about what happened to NeoGAF, which is possibly the world’s most famous forum about video games. If not, you can read this recap. Long story short: NeoGAF owner Tyler “Evilore” Malka was accused of sexual assault, and then things got nasty with mods and people jumping ship, with the forum put down for 24 hours.

NeoGAF is back up now, but the activity is noticeably lower than before. For those who want an alternative to that, a few NeoGAF members have started a new forum called “ResetEra.” It’s a new forum, but with the familiar names, topics and even threads. It’s essentially NeoGAF 2.0, though it isn’t saying that.

According to one of the forum admins shinobi602, just a few hours have passed since launch and there are already over 7,000 members!

If you want to be part of the ResetEra forum, registrations are said to be opening soon. For now, a “secret code” is needed in order to get in.

We wish the folks behind ResetEra nothing but the best. And if you’re there, don’t forget to say hi  if you bump into me (my username is excaliburps).

Report: Target B2G1 Sale Happening October 29

With Black Friday and Christmas approaching, retailers are hopping on the sales bandwagon to entice people to part with their hard earned cash. Retailer Target seems to be set to do a deal on video games starting next week.

According to a listing, a Target B2G1 free sale (buy two get one) is happening which includes the latest games for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Sadly, it doesn’t seem Nintendo Switch games will be included in this sale.

At the bottom of the ad, you can also see the SNES Classic as well, so for those who are still looking for one, you should check your local Target store for a chance to snag one. If you’d rather buy games digitally, then check out our PlayStation Store sale for the week, Xbox Deals With Gold, and even a Nintendo Switch Halloween sale.

Once we see more sales, we’ll be sure to let people know. If you spot any and want to reach us, check out the “Submit a Tip” button at the top to send us a news tip.

Report: Call of Duty: WWII PS4 File Size Revealed (Update)

Update:

Reddit user Charlie2136 has taken a screenshot of Call of Duty: WWII on PS4, and it now says 48GB, which falls perfectly in line with other games.

Original Story:

While we already reported on the Call of Duty: WWII file size on the Xbox One, it seems the PlayStation 4 version  is a lot bigger. Over on Reddit, user  NightRaptorX5 has posted what seems to be part of the physical disc’s box sleeve (or manual) and it clearly states that 80GB is the minimum required to install Call of Duty: WWII!

Why is the COD: WWII file size so different between the two versions? We don’t know for sure since the Xbox One X version, which uses the same disc, has been confirmed to support 4K, HDR, and all the other things the PS4 Pro does.

We’ve reached out to an Activision rep to ask why the file sizes are vastly different, and will update the story if we hear anything back.

In other COD: WWII news, check out the complete COD: WWII Trophies/Achievements list but be careful of spoilers. One of the game’s Prestige emblems has also been revealed, which you can see here.

Call of Duty: WWII will be released this November 3 on the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Destiny 2 Tracker “Destiny Sets” Site Is the Ultimate Tool for Collectors

DestinySets.com has been updated to be even more helpful to Destiny 2 players. The site now allows players to log into the site using their Bungie.net account and compare their inventory across 848 items. What’s especially great, is that it also shows what you’re missing. So if you’re big into collecting Exotics, or want all of the shaders and emblems, it’s now possible to track it all!

Here’s what’s been added with the latest update:

I built DestinySets.com to help Guardians track their collection of cool gear and help them complete their sets. It talks to Bungie.net to automatically mark of gear you’ve collected, so no more marking items in spreadsheets.

Just now I’ve released a new page letting your track all the other gear that doesn’t belong in a set, like emblems and shaders. That’s 848 items trackable now on the site! Now here’s hoping we’ll get the vault space to keep all the items.

https://destinysets.com/all-items

I hope everyone likes and enjoys it. I’ve got some cool features planned for down the track (I really want to add one-click equipping of sets!). Hit me up on Twitter or Github!

If you’re a keen Destiny 2 player, be sure to give the site a look!

In other Destiny 2 news, a giant Pokéball Easter egg has been found in the game, possible future DLC locations and info has been leaked, and the game has become the best-selling console game of 2017 in the US.
