PUBG Update 1.72 Patch Notes for 12.2 – July 15

PUBG Corp. has released the PUBG update 1.72 July 15 patch, or also known as the 12.2 update! This brings a new map in Taego, and of course, a lot more stuff and gameplay changes included in every major patch. Check out the official patch notes below.

PUBG Update 1.72 Patch Notes for July 15 | PUBG Console Update 1.72 Patch Notes:

NEW MAP: TAEGO

PUBG began with the iconic 8×8 map Erangel; today, with Update 12.2 we’re excited to release our newest 8×8 map: Taego.

Taego has diverse terrain and environments, with numerous towns, compounds, and unique points of interest across the Battleground. Be on the lookout for wildlife, with flocks of birds reacting to player movement and gunfire, giving you a potential early sign of danger ahead. Comeback BR and the Self AED are two new gameplay features exclusive to Taego, giving players a chance to get back into the fight.

Read on for full details.

  • Taego is available as the Featured Map.
  • Playable in TPP and FPP.
    • Solo, Duos, and Squads, including 1-man Squad Modes are available.
    • FPP in NA region will support all modes (Solo, Duos, Squads, and 1-man Squads). Squads and 1-man Squads will be supported in the EU region.
    • Depending on your region, available modes and perspectives will vary.
  • Up to 100 players.
  • Bots can spawn.
  • Clear weather.
  • No Red Zone.
  • Wildlife: Two friendly bird varieties move throughout Taego, reacting to player movement and gunfire.
  • Taego is available in Custom Matches.

COMEBACK BR

Comeback BR is a Taego exclusive second-chance mechanic allowing players who die during the first Blue Zone phase the chance to drop back into the fight later in the match.

Players who die during the first Blue Zone phase battle it out in the Comeback Arena, a location separate from the main Taego Battleground. Survivors who remain alive long enough in the Comeback Arena are transported by helicopter back to the Taego mainland in phase 3 to resume their fight for the Chicken Dinner.

  • Comeback BR is exclusive to Taego Duo Squad matches.
  • Players who die before the first Blue Zone phase ends are eligible and will see a timer indicating when Comeback BR begins.
    • At least one Duo or Squad member must be alive on the Battlegrounds for teammates to remain eligible to enter Comeback BR.
  • All eligible participants are sent simultaneously to the Comeback Arena, separate from the main fight, and must find loot and items to stay alive, competing against other survivors.
  • There are no bots or knockdowns in Comeback BR.
  • Survive the timer indicated while fighting in the Comeback Arena, and you’ll be transported back to the Taego mainland via helicopter with all your items and gear to continue your fight for the Chicken Dinner.
  • While health and boost levels are reset upon returning to the fight, your kills and stats are still recorded.

SELF AED

Similar to Comeback BR, the Self AED is another Taego exclusive second-chance mechanic, giving players another opportunity to stay in the fight. The Self AED is a world-loot item that allows players to revive themselves when DBNO, without the need of a teammate, and can be used in Solo, Duo, and Squad matches.

  • Press the interact button or select the Self AED in your inventory to activate the Self AED.
    • Cannot be canceled once started.
    • Cannot be used while already being revived by another teammate.
  • Squads: The Self AED can be used even if your entire Squad is DBNO, as a teammate holding the Self AED prevents your Squad from being immediately eliminated.
    • This gives you chance to self-revive and then revive your teammates.
    • If the whole Squad remains DBNO, you will be eliminated once all players with a Self AED are killed.
  • Solo: Having a Self AED allows you to enter DBNO instead of being instantly killed.
  • Self AED uses are recorded as revives in your stats.

The Pony Coupe design was created by the master of automotive design, Giorgetto Giugiaro, and is a coupe concept car that first premiered at the Turin Motor Show in 1974. The next-generation electric vehicle model IONIQ5 was designed with a lot of inspiration from the Pony Coupe.

  • Maximum HP: 1,000

ITEM SPAWN INCREASE

Through community feedback, many players have expressed their hopes for an overall increase in item spawns. We went through plenty of research, and we decided that increasing the item spawn rate would make battle royale even more dynamic. As a result, we increased the item spawn rate across all maps in Normal Matches. Now, enjoy an even more intense battle royale by equipping items faster than ever!

  • Item spawn increase is only applied to the following maps in Normal Matches
    • Erangel increased by 23.9%
    • Miramar increased by 28.3%
    • Sanhok increased by 16.5%
    • Vikendi increased by 28.4%

    • Use the emote wheel, interaction key, or shortcut key to start and then activate the emote action.
    • When alone, only your character plays the emote.

Blueprint Blitz, a Limited-Time Event

Similar to Double XP weekends, we will start activating a new special global Event where Contraband Contracts automatically spawn after you complete two regular Contracts. Contraband Contracts award you with a permanent Weapon Blueprint reward if you’re able to extract it from the DZ, in addition to tons of Cash within your current match.

Blueprint Blitz should give you the opportunity to earn plenty of Weapon Blueprints from prior seasons. If you missed out or didn’t play Warzone during the time these were originally available, Contraband Contracts award you with previous Seasonal rewards after you complete the Contract.

Note: This Event will only apply to the core BR and Plunder modes.

Modes:

Payload

Warzone’s first-ever objective-based game mode – Payload – pits two teams of 20 Players against each other in a race against time. Players drop in to escort two caravans of vehicles through a series of Checkpoints or sabotage the mission. Build or destroy barriers and purchase buildings to aid in your squad’s mission, and be sure to collect any Contracts you find around Verdansk as they will help lead to success. If the attacking team escorts all vehicles across all Checkpoints within the time limit, they win the match. The defending team can not only pick attackers off the payload vehicles to slow them down, but also buy and build obstacles to stall these vehicles on the tracks. This all happens as Operators are dropping in constantly with their own custom loadouts, searching for items across Verdansk like Cash and Killstreaks to aid their team in escorting or stopping the Payloads.

Look for Payload in the upcoming Featured Playlist Rotation as part of Season Four Reloaded.

Maps:

  • Red Doors
    • Further intel suggests that these Red Doors will appear [[REDACTED]] and take you to [[REDACTED]].

General:

  • New Prestige items added:
    • Calling Cards
    • Emblems
  • The Killchain Perk now increases the chance to obtain all Warzone Killstreaks from loot.

Gameplay:

Banner image of the Sentry Gun Killstreak firing at a Helicopter.
  • Loot that spawns across Verdansk has been adjusted as follows…
    • New Gulag loadouts
    • The Sentry Gun Killstreak can be found in Red Door Control Rooms
    • The Specialist Token is now slightly more common in core BR
  • Combat Bow Killstreak damage has been increased and it will now down enemies who are directly hit.
  • Players will now drop their current equipment directly behind them when looting a Loadout Drop.
  • Vertical camera movement will no longer be locked when sliding on a downward slope.
  • Dirt Bike Updates:
    • Wheelies!
      • Lean back to lift the Dirt Bike and initiate a wheelie.
      • Lean forward to increase steering sensitivity and allow the Dirt Bike to perform sharper turns.
      • The Dirt Bike now supports leaning forward and backward in the air as well, so make sure to position yourself for that perfect landing.

We are excited to share that we are planning the debut of two new Warzone-specific Perks. Alongside them, High Alert will also be receiving an update that allows players to hear Dead Silent footsteps.

Until then, we may see a Weapon make its long-awaited debut in Verdansk. 😉

Accessibility:

The following new features focus on three primary areas of accessibility: Hard of HearingBlind/Low-Vision, and Cognitive Overload.

  • Text Chat Behavior (Time On Screen): Added a new accessibility option to change the visibility duration of incoming messages. Players can adjust the length of time that the text chat widget stays on screen when a new message is received. This feature is intended to support Hard of Hearing and Cognitive Overload Accessibility.
    • Players can choose their desired text chat behavior from the following options:
      • Off: The text chat will never show on the HUD for new messages
      • Default: When new messages are received, the text chat will stay on screen for 3 seconds. This is the legacy behavior that has been in use in Warzone.
      • Medium: When new messages are received, the text chat will stay on screen for 15 seconds.
      • Long: When new messages are received, the text chat will stay on screen for 30 seconds.
      • Extended: When new messages are received, the text chat will stay on screen for 60 seconds.
    • This setting can be found by opening the Accessibility Options Menu and selecting Text Chat Behavior (Time On Screen) under the Visuals tab.
    • Alternatively, this setting can be found by opening the Options Menu and selecting Text Chat Behavior (Time On Screen) under the General tab.

Non-verbal communication is a cornerstone of Warzone gameplay and we are leveraging accessibility-oriented playtesting and our Warzone Accessibility FAQ feedback form to explore improvements to our text chat features. By adding more customizability to the amount of time the text chat stays on-screen when new messages are received, we hope Players will be better supported in strategically communicating with their squad without needing to rely on external hardware, such as headphones. However, we want to avoid spamming Players with additional HUD messaging during moment-to-moment combat, so we have also added an advanced version of this feature that allows Players to choose which of their incoming messages have longer or shorter on-screen durations. In effect, Players will be able to choose to keep squad messages on-screen for longer, while quieting down things like system messages. Alternatively, for Players with disabilities related to cognitive overload, the Text Chat Behavior (Time On Screen) feature allows Players to turn off in-game text chat notifications on the HUD entirely, so that messages can be received without causing disruption or disturbance that hinders the gameplay experience.

  • Advanced Text Chat Behavior (Time On Screen): The advanced version of the Text Chat Behavior (Time On Screen) accessibility option allows Players to customize the visibility duration of incoming messages according to message type. In other words, Players can choose different visibility durations for Player Messages compared to System Messages. In addition, Players can select Always On Screen to prevent the text chat element from fading from the HUD.
    • This can be accessed by navigating to the Text Chat Behavior (Time On Screen) option and selecting the “Advanced” button underneath.
    • Players can choose their desired text chat visibility duration for incoming Player messages (only) with the Player Messages Behavior setting.
    • Players can choose their desired text chat visibility duration for incoming system messages (only) with the System Messages Behavior setting.
    • Both of these settings provide the following options to choose from:
      • Off: The text chat will never show on the HUD for new messages
      • Default: When new messages are received, the text chat will stay on screen for 3 seconds. This is the legacy behavior that has been in use in Warzone.
      • Medium: When new messages are received, the text chat will stay on screen for 15 seconds.
      • Long: When new messages are received, the text chat will stay on screen for 30 seconds.
      • Extended: When new messages are received, the text chat will stay on screen for 60 seconds.
    • Always On Screen: This setting is accessed from the Advanced Text Chat Behavior (Time On Screen) option. When enabled, the text chat widget will stay permanently on-screen while in-game. This setting is intended to support Cognitive Overload and Blind/Low-Vision Accessibility by eliminating the need for rapid peripheral visual localization and language processing of a temporary HUD element under time pressure.
  • New Message Sound Alert: Added a new accessibility option to enable sound alerts when receiving new messages. This feature is intended to support Blind/Low-Vision Accessibility by providing a second channel for information communication – adding the sound alert allows Players to have an audio cue for new messages rather than only a visual cue. This setting applies in-game as well as in the front-end.
    • Players can choose from the following options to customize which messages they’d like to receive d sound alerts for:
      • Disabled: (Default) No audio cue will be played when new messages are received.
      • Player Messages Only: An audio cue is played when new messages are received from other Players.
      • System Messages Only: An audio cue is played when new system messages are received.
      • Both: An audio cue is played when any new message is received, including party chat and system messages.
    • This can be found by navigating to the Visuals tab within the Accessibility Options Menu and selecting New Message Sound Alert. Alternatively, this setting can also be found by navigating to the Options Menu, going to the General tab, and selecting New Message Sound Alert.

This text chat feature improvement was also inspired by our internal accessibility-oriented playtesting and our online Warzone Accessibility FAQ feedback form. By using audio to provide a second channel of visual information communication, we hope that this option better supports Player-to-Player communication for blind and low-vision Players. Adding an audio cue helps alleviate the need for visual acuity at the periphery of the screen, where the text chat element lives. In addition, this feature will allow all Players, regardless of ability/disability, to have an indication of when new messages are received when they are away from their gaming setup, not looking at the screen, alt-tabbed out of the window, etc.!

Weapons:
Banner image of the new OTs 9 submachine gun in action.

New Weapons (BOCW)

  • OTs 9: Submachine Gun (Launch Week)
    • Full-auto SMG. Impressive firepower at close range with good visibility while firing. Reliable recoil control with a smaller magazine size.
  • Mace: Melee (In-Season)
    • Brutal new melee Weapon arriving later in the season, unlockable via in-game challenge or Store bundle.

The following changes are our first major step towards increasing the average Time-to-Kill within Warzone. It is important to note that these Weapon adjustments were not made in a vacuum. When evaluating an individual change, some may seem quite drastic, but they were made holistically and in a way that supported a lock-step increase in average TTK across multiple Weapon categories. Torso Multipliers were a considerable focus of these changes with how often they would act as flat damage increases given how consistently that location could be hit. With reductions to these multipliers, we are placing a bigger emphasis on precision — a move which we feel is ultimately healthy for the game.

Statistically, there will always be a ‘best weapon’. That is the nature of a competitive game. Players will seek out and employ any advantage they can, regardless of how miniscule it may be. We will take great care to ensure that the ‘best weapon’ never overstays its welcome and has effectiveness that scales with the skill of the handler. Conversely, there are also a great deal of players who prefer a myriad of options to choose from. Our goal is to provide exactly that. We will continue to compress outliers, both over and underperforming, until each Weapon is viable at the very least. We do not want players to feel they are at a distinct disadvantage for not conforming to the generally accepted ‘best weapon’.

We will be closely monitoring Weapon performance to ensure the game is in a healthy state following the biggest balance update in the history of Warzone.

Black Ops Cold War DualSense Adaptive Triggers Now Supported on PC

If you prefer gaming on PC with a controller, and want to use the PS5’s DualSense for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, you’ll be glad to know that adaptive triggers are now supported on PC!

While using the adaptive triggers in multiplayer shooters might not be the best idea (hey, who am I to judge?), players can now use the DualSense and it’ll react just like it did as if you were gaming on a PS5!

Check out the short clip below to see it in action:

Quite possibly, support was added as part of the Season 4 Reloaded patch that was releases recently.

Another shooter that added this feature on PC recently was Metro Exodus, which you can check out here.

In other Call of Duty news, a cheat maker was forced to stop development of a cheat made for consoles, due Activision has stepped in.

Bungie Warns Players to Not Create New Destiny 2 Characters During Solstice of Heroes Due to Issues

Just last week, Bungie introduced the Solstice of Heroes to Destiny 2 this year. While the event came with a host of new rewards and challenges for guardians, it also brought in new issues as well. It seems players who create new Destiny 2 characters while the event is active, are running into issues!

This was confirmed today by Bungie, and the studio advises people to not create a new Destiny 2 character while the Solstice of Heroes event is still active.

Investigations have found that creating new characters while Solstice of Heroes is live will remove any Solstice Package and Key Fragments.

It’s recommended to not create new characters if you have any Solstice items in your inventory while the Solstice event is active.

We’ll be getting a new Destiny 2 patch tomorrow, and there is a chance (though slight) that a fix for this is included, but we’re not holding our breath.

In case you know someone who wants to create a new Destiny 2 character now, well, best to let them see this post.

Battlefield 2042 Bots Cannot Use Traits & Specialties, Cap Set for How Many Are in Each Match

Just a few weeks ago, we reported that Battlefield 2042’s AI soldiers (bots) cannot be turned off, and are there to help flll up servers. For those concered that these bots will overrun servers, don’t. EA has confirmed that matches will have a cap for bots, and what’s more, these AI soldiers cannot use Traits & Specialties!

Here’s EA’s explanation on how these Battlefield 2042 bots will act in matches:

So how will AI Soldiers actually play on the Battlefield?

AI Soldiers are intended to play the game like how you would play it yourself. However they are not designed to be Specialists and cannot use Traits and Specialties. You will see them undergoing certain tasks such as using the vehicle call-in system and engaging with vehicles, or capturing objectives. Whilst they can’t use the Wingsuit, they do have the intelligence to decide between engaging with you via enemy fire, flanking, throwing grenades or even reviving a downed squad mate.

Can you completely opt-out of using AI Soldiers?

In the All-Out Warfare set of experiences of Conquest and Breakthrough, AI Soldiers are used to backfill servers and you cannot opt-out of playing with them. However, there is a cap to how many of them you can encounter in a multiplayer match. In general, you will not experience more AI soldiers than players unless the match is still filling-up, or almost empty. Players will always have matchmaking priority over AI.

As an example: if there are 120 players out of 128 players currently playing in a server, 8 AI Soldiers will join the match to help even out the teams. Should a player leave, another AI Soldier will temporarily replace them until a new player joins the game. We’re providing them as a helpful option to ensure you won’t have trouble matchmaking and can fully enjoy the all-out warfare chaos you can expect from a Battlefield match.

While I understand EA and DICE’s reasoning for not wanting these bots to use Traits and Specializations, let’s hope it won’t result in lopsided matches if one side has more bot teammates than actual humans. That said, given how bad some gamers are in contributing to a team, perhaps these bots will be even better teammates than actual humans.

Resident Evil Village PC Crack Reveals the Game Runs Better Without DRM

Looks like the modding community may have discovered something of a game changer for the PC version of the latest Resident Evil game, as Resident Evil Village has a PC crack that reveals the game runs better without DRM installed.

As featured in a video by Digital Foundry, the PC version of RE Village was significantly slower on some parts — but a couple of modifiers have discovered a way to turn off the DRM and it shows that the game runs significantly faster without it.

Now bear in mind that this option is not available officially, and it’s a mod that will make the game run much better than the base version you buy. It remains to be seen if Capcom will take notice and install this option in a future update, but for now it appears that PC users will have to use the crack code method if they want RE Village to run faster in their systems like what’s seen in the video.

It’s been over two months since RE Village was released, and the game is showing no signs of slowing down its momentum as one of the best-selling titles the franchise has seen. Find out why with our review on the game, and also watch out for the future DLC Capcom has officially confirmed it is working on.

Resident Evil Village is available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC!

Battlefield 2042 Cannot Be Played Offline Even With Bots, No Sea Warfare Confirmed

With Battlefield 2042 confirmed to utilize AI soldiers (bots) to make sure 128-player matches feel full, some might be wondering whether this meant that players can practice the game offline. Unfortunately, we now have confirmation that Battlefield 2042 will need to be online even if you want to practice against bots!

This was confirmed by EA in today’s latest Battlefield Briefing page update:

Since AI Soldiers can be used in Solo mode, does that mean I can play offline?

Battlefield 2042 is a multiplayer-only experience. So while you can play Solo against AI Soldiers if you’d like to practice, it will be in an online setting.

As for those looking forward to naval warfare in BF 2042, sadly, that won’t be a possiblity — at least at launch! EA has confirmed that there are naval-oriented vehicles in the game, though there isn’t a focus on naval-specific warfare.

Will there be naval vehicles and sea warfare?

You can expect to see naval oriented vehicles such as the LCAA Hovercraft, however there isn’t a focus on naval specific warfare right now. We’ve seen your comments about how excited you are about naval warfare, so stay in touch with us about what you’d like to see in the future!

Given the shooter’s emphasis on live service, I wouldn’t be surprised if DICE has plans for a sea warfare-themed content drop. Of course, this is all conjecture at this point.

In case you didn’t know, EA has also today confirmed that yes, there will be crossplay in Battlefield 2042! That, cross-progression, cross-commerce are being worked on.

Battlefield 2042 Crossplay Confirmed, Cross-Progression, “Cross-Commerce” Being Worked On

With Battlefield 2042 featuring 128-player matches as one of its main selling points, some might be wondering if the game will employ crossplay and how it’ll work between console generations. Today, EA answered that, as it confirmed Battlefield 2042 crossplay is being worked on, as well as cross-progression, and “cross-commerce.”

As one might expect, crossplay in Battlefield 2042 will be limited within console generations. This means that PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC gamers can play together, while PS4 and Xbox One are locked into their own crossplay bubble given the two last-gen consoles cannot handle 128-player matches. EA mentioned that they are currently developing Battlefield 2042 crossplay and will test it in the closed alpha.

Testing cross-play during the Technical Playtest
We’ll test a subset of cross-play functionality during the Technical Playtest. This means during this test, PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation® 5 consoles will be able to test playing together.

Cross-play in Battlefield 2042 beyond the Technical Playtest
We are still building cross-play functionality, and the first opportunity for us to test it with a wider, invite-only group will be within the Technical Playtest. Right now, we’d like to give you an understanding of what we’re looking to achieve as final functionality beyond the Technical Playtest, so here is an overview of what you can expect that to look like:

  • PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5® consoles (PC and console can opt-out from playing together)
  • Xbox One and PlayStation 4® consoles

As for cross-progression, EA has also confirmed that it is indeed being worked on, too.

Cross-progression and cross-commerce
Alongside cross-play we’re also building cross-progression and cross-commerce for Battlefield 2042, which will be shared across all platforms and travel with you wherever you go. For example, your unlocked progress and purchases in your PlayStation® copy of the game will carry over onto the Xbox or PC version, and vice versa*.

For cross-commerce, this implies that Battle Passes will carryover to platforms, which is a nice confirmation. Given how DICE has said that it has “tricks” up their sleeves when it comes to BF 2042’s live service element, we’re glad cross-commerce has been addressed as early as today.

Battlefield 2042 will be released this October 22 on all platforms.

Zombie Army 4 Update 1.36 for July 14 Crawls Out Today

Rebellion Developments has released the Zombie Army 4 update 1.36 July 14 patch today. Given we just got the huge Left 4 Dead crossover event a few weeks ago, don’t expect new content in this.

Zombie Army 4 Update 1.36 July 14 Patch Notes | Zombie Army 4 July 14 Update Today Patch Notes:

Per the game’s update history, here’s what’s listed:

  • General bug fixing and improvements

Here are the known issues the dev steam is still taking care of, which most likely is patched out with today’s hotfix:

  • Nightmare Achievement – We are aware that some players are not able to unlock the Nightmare Achievement.
  • Missing Upgrade Kits – We are aware that some players are still experiencing missing upgrade kits and that this blocks the mastery of all weapons.

We’re waiting for Rebellion to release the official changelog for today’s patch, but there is a chance we won’t see it (give the patch log’s history).

That said, for those curious what’s new this month, here are the complete patch notes for the July update released back on July 8:

Legacy Controls:

  • Removed an issue where scope was broken for some players, meaning re-scoping and stomping weren’t possible. Scope now works appropriately.

Abaddon Asylum:

  • Supply crate remains in place after slayers exit safe room at beginning of mission.
  • Proximity fuse at Nissen Huts now appears appropriately for all players.
  • Gatehouse saferoom radio now plays music.
  • Voiceover of The Baron no longer blocked by overly fast zombie slaughter, removing soft lock.
  • Italian and Spanish subtitles for Bruno’s interaction with The Angel now match the voice over.
  • Angel’s subtitles now match voice over regarding the gate seal.
  • Eddie’s subtitles now match his voice over after destroying two seals.
  • Subtitles for The Angel informing players where the satchels are now present for English, French, Italian, German and Spanish.

Terminal Error:

  • Survive The Ambush objective now completes for solo players after killing all ambushing enemies. All enemies now spawn appropriately so that progress is not blocked.

Nightmare Mode, Mission 5:

  • Fog clears and progress is possible after leaving an officer alive in the Fuze Puzzle area.

Windows Store:
Above fixes, additionally:

  • FMV Cutscenes at the beginning of DLC missions now run as they should.

Once Rebellion releases the official notes for today’s patch, we’ll update the post.

Summer Season

● Defeating the following monsters on the Season Server have a low chance to draw out Afuaru.

Season servers will now have their own exclusive version of Afuaru. Up until now, Afuaru served as a breath of fresh air for Adventurers while they were defeating monsters on the normal server, for he had a chance to drop some of the ‘best’ items in the game. And now, Afuaru has a whole new bag of goodies to be plundered from as he makes an appearance in Various locations throughout the season servers. Afuaru in the season server will drop either Refined Magical Black Stones or Tuvala Ores, along with the rare chance to drop the much-coveted ‘Frozen Tides Black Stone.’ The ‘Frozen Tides Black Stone’ will grant guaranteed TET (IV) or PEN (V) enhancement for Tuvala gear. Starting from this week, he will first appear in normal monster zones, while in the upcoming week, he is scheduled to make an appearance in monster zones recommended for parties on the season server (I,e. Shultz Guard, Basilisks, etc.) as well.

Monster Changes

● Daphne DelLucci in Balenos Forest claims to have spotted Dastard Bheg in Balenos Forest after he finished gathering the Mine Imps.

– Changed the appearance location of the field boss Dastard Bheg to Balenos Forest .

※ As the field boss, Dastard Bheg was disabled for a short period of time, ‘Dastard Bheg’ will appear one more time after being defeated until the July 21st maintenance (UTC+1).

Character Changes

● Absolute: Ultimate Righteous Charge–  Fixed an issue where the PvP damage of the skill was lower than intended.

● Flashing Light – Fixed the issue where the backward movement of the skill would be shorter if it was used after a particular motion of Bloodthirst: Katana Shower.

● Fixed an issue where pressing A/X after using Brace, while Prime: Smoke Screen is on cooldown, would cause the character to temporarily freeze.

A fundamental element of Corsair’s movement skills is the way Smooth Sailin’ combos with the Mareca Swing. However, the cooldown of Smooth Sailin’ was disrupting the natural fluidity of these movements, so we decided to make Smooth Sailin’ usable during cooldown in order to improve fluidity and make the skill more dynamic. On top of that, skills that couldn’t be chained after movement skills (such as Smooth Sailin’ or Riding Waves), were changed in order to allow comboing. Corsair’s unique move set can now inflict more aggressive attacks.

We also felt Mermaid skills were weak when it came to combos. So, we made changes to allow smoother comboing with other skills and also adjusted attack range to make them easier to perform. We also tweaked the Whirling Slash and Storm Surge skills as these attacks were difficult to land on targets. We noticed it was particularly difficult to land hits with Whirling Slash as it didn’t have any collision, so we changed this skill to include collisions when performed moving forward. This will enable forward-moving attacks to land on targets more easily, but note that the sideway attacks will still not include collision with targets. As for Storm Surge, we removed the start-up motion so that the skill activates quicker.

● Riding Wave – Fixed the issue where Mareca Swing would be used before the skill when holding LS↑+L2/LT

● Fixed the issue where Corsair would not start auto-running when L3 is pressed while stopping to move forward in combat stance.

● Storm Surge – Improved to combo smoother with skills and movements.

● Wipe Out – Fixed the issue where pressing the commands for the skill after using Splashin’ Around and Mareca: Jet Stream would activate Overflow instead.

● Flow: After the Storm – improved to be able to combo with the skills Whirlpool, Crashing Wave, and Mareca: Spiral Soak

● Flow: After the Storm – Fixed the issue where pressing the commands for the skill after the 2nd hit of Wave Lash would activate Crashing Wave.

● Prime: Wave Lash I~IV – Fixed the issue where the damage was not applied when the skill is used on the spot while on cooldown.

● Prime: Wave Lash II – Fixed the issue where the damage reduction was not being applied when using the skill while sprinting or when comboing after Riding Waves.

● Wave Lash – Changed to no longer move forward when using the skill while sprinting.

● Mareca: Sea Stroll – Improved so the character to face the same direction as the camera before the last strike.

● Mareca: Sea Stroll I-Absolute: Mareca: Sea Stroll – fixed the issue where the last hit would not be performed even when LS↓ was held during the skill.

● Improved her motion to appear smoother when stopping to move in combat stance.

● Riding Waves – Changed to now combo into Wave Lash and Ocean’s Pearl regardless of the direction in which the skill was used.

● Smooth Sailin’ – Improved so the skill can now be used on cooldown.

● Smooth Sailin’ – Improved to be able to combo with Tidal Slash and Ocean’’s Pearl during the skill.

● Smooth Sailin’ – Improved to combo smoothly with Wave Lash when using the skill left or right.

● Smooth Sailin’ – Improved to link more fluidly from other skills.

● Prime: Wave Lash I~IV – Fixed the issue where the sound effect would not be played when using the skills during their cooldown.

Flow: Squall – changed to activate when used during cooldown.

● Crashing Wave – Changed to activate Storming Gale when holding L2+X/LT+B when the skill is on cooldown.

● Whirling Slash – Changed to have no collision until the rope is thrown when the skill is used moving sideways.

● Ocean’s Pearl, Mareca: Whale Song – Adjusted the attack range to be able to hit targets near and to the side of the character.

Splashin’ Around – Fixed the issue where the character would attack diagonally when moving left, right, or back while using the skill.

Storm Surge – Improved to cast faster by shortening its initial motion.

● Prime: Heirloom of the Crow – Changed to increase the attack range for every level of the skills Overflow and Flow: Tide’s Kiss.

● Prime: Mareca: Jet Stream – Improved to combo with Mareca: Whale Song and Mareca: Spiral Soak smoothly after using the skill.

Prime: Mareca: Spiral Soak – Improved to combo with Mareca: Whale Song after the second hit of the skill.

● Mareca: Spiral Soak – Improved the 2nd hit to apply its effect to all targets regardless of the attack range.

● Riding Waves – Improved to combo smoothly with Mareca: Spiral Soak during the skill.

● Fixed the issue where other skills could not be used if a skill was activated using the Ring Menu in a non-combat state.

● Crashing Wave – Fixed the issue where the 1st hit damage was not applied in certain situations.

● Prime: Mareca: Spiral Soak – Fixed the issue where the 2nd hit’s max targets hit would be applied abnormally.

● Changed the damage of the following skills.

Skills Before After
Absolute: Storm Surge 1088% x 1, Max 5 Hits, 1088% x 4 938% x 1, Max 5 Hits, 938% x 4
Prime: Storm Surge I 758% x 1, Max 5 Hits, 758% x 4 820% x 1, Max 5 Hits, 820% x 4
Prime: Storm Surge II 918% x 1, Max 5 Hits, 918% x 4 962% x 1, Max 5 Hits, 962% x 4
Ocean Melancholy IV 905% x 1, Max 8 Hits 705% x 1, Max 8 Hits
Absolute: Ocean Melancholy 1090% x 1, Max 8 Hits 948% x 1, Mask 8 Hits
Prime: Ocean Melancholy I 720% x 1, Max 8 Hits 767% x 1, Max 8 Hits

● Sea Lungs – Can now be acquired from level 1.

● Mareca: Spiral Soak I ~ Absolute: Spiral Soak – Fixed the issue where the 2 hit damage description regarding max hits was different from how it was applied.

● Prime: Mareca: Spiral Soak I ~ Absolute: Spiral Soak – Fixed the issue with the 2 hit damage description was incorrectly displayed as 1 hit damage.

● Poses 1 and 2 have been changed in the character Beauty window.

● Black Spirit: Mareca: Sea Stroll, Black Spirit: Prime: Mareca: Sea Stroll – skill description has been changed to include the restorative effects.

Item Changes

● Work time for the Star’s End excavation node has been reduced by around 50%.

● The probability of acquiring a Mass of Pure Magic from excavation in Star’s End has been increased to 100%.

● The weights of the five different materials needed to enhance Naru and Tuvala gear were reduced to 0.1LT per x1000

Item Name
Beginner Black Stone (Weapon)
Beginner Black Stone (Armor)
Time-filled Black Stone
Refined Magical Black Stone
Tuvala Ore
Keeping enhancement materials for your Tuvala Gear in your inventory feels better than placing them in your storage, since you would naturally want to use them when you’re ready to enhance. However, keeping a hefty amount of these materials on you can place quite the burden on your character. Thus, we decided to adjust their weight (0.1LT per 1,000 items) to be less cumbersome.
