Battlefield V Upcoming Weapons for Chapter 6 Leaked via Datamining

While there’s no news yet on when the next Battlefield V update will drop, we do have new developments on some of the Battlefield V upcoming weapons set to be released by DICE. For today, we get to see the “Einstossflammenwerfer” in action, as well as a new gun set to come in Chapter 6!

Once again unearthed by Battlefield dataminer temporyal, the Einstossflammenwerfer isn’t really a gun, but a handheld flamethrower! Check it out in action. below.

Aside from the flamethrower, there’s also the Ithaca M37 shotgun and it’s set to come in Chapter 6!

Note that given these Battlefield V upcoming weapons are based on datamined info, there’s no guarantee that we’ll see them in the game. That said, chances are high that we’ll eventually see these as part of the weekly challenges and rewards.

In other Battlefield V news, check out the latest news regarding the time-to-kill (TTK) news after the 5.2.2 patch We also ranked the Battlefield games released this decade, which you will want to read.

Paladins Update 2.11 Released, Here’s This Week’s Champion Rotation

Following the big Paladins update lat week that brought in the A Tigon’s Tale content and fixes, Evil Mojo Games has released Paladins update 2.11 and it’s a small download! Clocking in at just 150MB on PS4, this new Paladins update today shouldn’t include any new content.

Unfortunately though, Evil Mojo Games has not released any official patch notes as to what’s included in Paladins update 2.11. Given the size of the patch and the timing, we suspect it’s a fix for the lobby delay when choosing a champion. We’re still keeping an eye out as to what’s in it, and if we find anything, we’ll update the post.

Also announced today are this week’s Paladins champion rotation (via Paladins):

This Week’s Free Champion Rotation

  • Torvald (Frontline)
  • Kinessa (Damage)
  • Talus (Flank)
  • Io (Support)

Evil Mojo has also made a few more announcements such as a competition kicking off this Wednesday, as well as the sale on the Nintendo Switch version only up until January 16!

  • Stream Team Competition
    • If you haven’t heard of our Paladins Stream Team, you’ve probably seen them on our official TwitchMixer, and Steam channels playing the game! To celebrate Season 3, we’ll be kicking off a friendly competition with them this Wednesday – stay tuned for the details!
  • Nintendo Sales
    • This Thursday, January 16, our sales on Nintendo Switch will be coming to a close! If you haven’t picked up your Champions Pack, Season Pass, or Digital Deluxe Edition for 50% off just yet, don’t miss your chance!

If you notice any changes via this patch, share them in the comments below.

Report: Sony Will Have PS5 Exclusive Games Available at Launch

Following news the other day that Microsoft’s Xbox Series X won’t see exclusives at launch or anytime soon, PS5 gamers won’t need to worry about PS5 exclusives not being a thing — at least based on early reports.

In a new podcast by Kotaku, reliable industry reporter Jason Schreier mentioned that the PS5 will see PS5-only titles at launch (Holiday 2020). Based on what he has “heard,” some titles launching with the PS5 will be console-specific titles, which are being developed by first-party studios.

Note that this isn’t official info, so take it with a grain of salt. That said, Schreier has been very, very reliable when it comes to industry news, hence why we’re reporting it. This might not be that surprising to hear given how almost every PlayStation hardware has launched with console exclusives, but it’s a nice semi-confirmation, no?

Some of the PS5 games we know are in development include Godfall, and there’s a rumor that Knives Out is set to be released on the platform as well.

In other PS5 news, check out the official PS5 logo which was revealed by Sony recently, here. We also posted the purported PS5 and Xbox Series X GPU specs, too.

Modern Warfare Error 656448 Happening After January 11 Update, Here’s How to Fix

In case you didn’t know, Infinity Ward rolled out a new server-side update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that fixed a few nagging issues. Unfortunately though, this update also made players see the Modern Warfare error 656448 that’s happening across all platforms (PS4, Xbox One, and PC).

While this might not be happening to everyone, there are enough players complaining that multiple threads about it have sprouted on the Modern Warfare subreddit. Thankfully, there seems to be an easy fix for it, and it’s by clearing your cache and deleting files.

Check out how to do it (using the PS4 as an example) below.

Clearing Cache

The PlayStation 4 doesn’t have a specific menu option to clear cache. However, you can force the cache to be cleared by doing the following:

  1. Turn off your PlayStation 4. Do not enter Rest Mode.
  2. Once the indicator light on top of your PlayStation 4 is off and has stopped blinking, unplug the power cord from the back of your console.
  3. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into your PlayStation 4 and turn it on.

Deleting Saved Game Data

Game saves, player profiles, and other game data is automatically saved in the PlayStation 4 System Storage by default. If you suspect that data is corrupt, you can delete it from your hard drive.

Please note: Deleting saved game data is permanent and cannot be undone. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you back up your saved game data to online storage or a USB storage device before deleting it.

Follow these steps to access the System Storage and delete game data:

  1. Open the Settings menu at the top of the dashboard.

  2. Select Storage, then select System Storage.

  3. Select Saved Data.

  4. Choose a game to access the game’s saved data.

  5. Press the Options button and select Delete.

  6. Choose the saved data files to delete, then select Delete.

You can check out how to do it on PC, Xbox One, Battle.net here.

Multiple people on different gaming platforms have chimed in that this method has worked for them. Hopefully, Infinity Ward can resolve this ASAP, so people won’t have to jump through hoops just to play the game this weekend.

In other Modern Warfare news, Activision is donating 100 percent of the proceeds from the Outback pack to the bushfire calamity happening in Australia. Don’t forget to check out Infinity Ward’s latest announcement regarding upcoming fixes and weekly community interactions.

All Proceeds From Modern Warfare Outback Pack Donated to Australia Bushfire Relief for Limited Time

For those playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer, and you buy cosmetic items and bundles, here’s your chance to do that and help out in a big way. Today, Activision (for a limited time) has made it so that all (100 percent) Modern Warfare Outback pack sales will be donated to aid the bushfire tragedy happening in Australia.

Renamed the “Outback Relief” pack, this bundle costs 1,800 COD Points ($18 in real-world currency), and includes eight items in total. Players who buy the pack until January 31, 2020 will see their money go to the Australia bushfire relief funds, and those who already purchased the pack, don’t fret, as your purchase will count towards the donation, too.

Modern Warfare Outback pack items:

  • Bushranger – Operator Skin
  • Big Game blueprint – Sniper Rifle
  • Koala – Weapon Charm
  • Try Harder – Sticker
  • Gun Art – Calling Card
  • Hungry – Operator Quip
  • Stick ‘n’ Knife – Finishing Move
  • 1 Tier Skip – Battle Pass

If you want to see each item, check out the screenshots we took below.

Again, don’t forget, the proceeds being donated will be a limited time thing, so if you plan on getting a cosmetic pack, now’s the time to do it.

Modern Warfare January 11 Update Released, Here’s What Got Fixed

While we’re waiting for the big Call of Duty: Modern Warfare patch to hit this January, Infinity Ward doesn’t need to release an actual patch to release a few bugs. A Modern Warfare January 11 update was released today via server-side, which means there’s no download required!

Modern Warfare January 11 update patch notes:

GENERAL FIXES:

  • Fixes to a few glitch spots on Karst River Quarry that requires vehicles to access
  • Fixed a bug that was preventing the “Mark 25 Enemies Using the Recon Drone” challenge from tracking properly
  • When using a Trial Ticket to activate a Trials match, users could spend more tickets than required and lose unconsumed tickets. This has been fixed.
  • If more than 9 players are Infected, the player will not have a throwing knife available after using a Tac Insert

Again, this is a server-side update, and you should not be prompted to download anything significant, but rather, you’ll see the “download meter” pop up before seeing the game’s main menu, and you’ll have to restart your game client.

In case you didn’t see it, Infinity Ward announced some of the key fixes coming very soon, as well as a schedule for weekly interactions with the community.

If you notice any game changes not listed in the patch notes (stealth changes again, maybe), let us know what they are in the comments.

First-Party Xbox Series X Exclusives Won’t be Available for a Couple of Years, Launch Titles Will Take Full Advantage of System

Microsoft continues to discuss their future vision for Xbox as they confirm that all their games will be playable on old and newer versions of Xbox, stating that fans shouldn’t expect to see  Xbox Series X exclusives for the next two years.

Speaking with MCV in a recent interview, Head of Microsoft Studios, Matt Booty details what exactly they have in mind for Xbox, stating that the initial life-cycle of the Series X will contain cross-generation titles from their first-part studios.

“As our content comes out over the next year, two years, all of our games, sort of like PC, will play up and down that family of devices,” explains Booty, “We want to make sure that if someone invests in Xbox between now and [Series X] that they feel that they made a good investment and that we’re committed to them with content.”

Despite making titles available on current-gen Xbox One systems, Matt did state that fans can expect the Series X to be taken advantage of when it comes to all it has to offer, highlighting Halo Infinite as their big opportunity to show this.

“Our approach is to pick one or two IP that we’re going to focus on and make sure that they’re there at the launch of the console, taking advantage of all the features. And for us that’s going to be Halo Infinite, which is a big opportunity. It’s the first time in over 15 years that we’ll have a Halo title launching in sync with a new console. And that team is definitely going to be doing things to take advantage of [Series X].”

This approach is no surprise as Phil Spencer recently spoke about the Series X being the “best Xbox” they have ever created so far, saying that it’ll feature games written for generations before it, but offer far better improvements.

It’s an interesting approach, as while this may deter gamers from rushing out to buy the Series X, it does expand on the support of current-gen Xbox One for many more years to come.  Typically a start of a new generation marks the end of the current one as publishers slowly begin dropping support, though, with this more of a PC approach to how games are developed, this eliminates the idea that the new kills the old.

Modern Warfare Quick Play Filter Not Working Fix Incoming, You Can Wallbang Across the Map in Shoot House

For those who play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer via the Quick Play option to rotate across different modes, chances are you’ve experienced it not really working, and making it so that game modes do NOT rotate until you leave Quick Play and start searching again. It seems this is indeed a known bug, as Infinity Ward has confirmed a Modern Warfare Quick Play filter not working fix is “in flight.”

This was revealed by Infinity Ward Art Director Joel Emslie in answering a player, and mentioned that more details regarding this is on the way.

Its the quickplay filter. We are aware and have a fix in flight. More details are on the way from comms.

Now that it’s been confirmed that the Quick Play filter itself is to blame, perhaps you’d be interested to know that fan-favorite map Shoot House has a weird quirk where you can wallbang (shoot enemies through walls) across the entire map! Don’t believe me? Watch it in action below.

You can Wallbang people across the whole map on Shoothouse
byu/ErocYT inmodernwarfare

I’m honestly not sure if this is a design decision or a bug that’s been left over.

If you haven’t done so already, make sure to check out some of the upcoming fixes and new announcement by Infinity Ward regarding a 3v3 Gunfight mode!

Modern Warfare Upcoming Fixes and Weekly Schedule Announced

While there’s still no Call of Duty: Modern Warfare patch out for this year, Infinity Ward has taken to the studio’s official website to announce a few key things such as some of the Modern Warfare upcoming fixes, a new weekly schedule of studio interaction with players and more.

First off, Infinity Ward has confirmed something we’ve already reported on, and that’s more custom loadouts. There’s also a 3v3 Gunfight mode planned, a Gunfight tournament and more.

What’s Coming?

Gunfight 3v3: Aside from the Gunfight 1v1 playlist we rolled out this week, we’re working on another version of Gunfight, 3v3!

Additional loadouts: 5 loadouts aren’t enough, so we’ll be adding more loadout slots over the coming weeks!

Gunfight Tournament: It was incredible to see so many people jumping into the Gunfight Tournament Beta back in November and we plan on bringing tournaments back once we’ve squashed a few bugs and added in new rewards.

MORE 2XP, 2X Weapon XP, and 2X Tier events!

That’s just a taste of things we’re working on, so keep an eye out for these and more in future updates!

Aside from that, the studio has also listed some of the Modern Warfare upcoming fixes the studio is currently tracking.

Known Issues

Below is a short list of issues we’re currently tracking…

  • Lighting flickering on various maps

  • Mission collision on containers on Cargo

  • Platinum skins not unlocking properly

  • Out of map exploits in Ground War

  • Platinum and Damascus camos glare while ADS

In addition to that, there’s now a Modern Warfare Trello board where the studio has listed some of the known issues.

Also, just in case you didn’t see it, Infinity Ward mentioned last week that they are aiming to do a better job of communicating with their player base when it comes to the game, and that’s starting at a yet-unspecified date.

  • Tuesday – Playlist updates
  • Thursday – Developer diary and/or behind the scenes blog
  • Friday – Community Update blog

The studio will, of course, share the patch notes for game updates and more. This is definitely a step in the right direction for Infinity Ward and the game as a whole, as this is better than the studio only interacting when there’s a new patch released.

Anthem Icetide Challenges Bugged and Tracking Issues Acknowledged by BioWare

With Anthem’s Icetide season well underway, some might have encountered issues with challenges and whatnot, which will surely dampen any sort of drive players might have in completing these said challenges. Well, these Anthem Icetide challenges bugged concerns have finally been acknowledged by BioWare, though there’s no fix ready just yet.

This was announced by BioWare over on the game’s subreddit, where the studio also announced that it will grant everyone who logged in since the Icetide update with 20k Seasonal Crystals! You can check out the complete announcement below.

For those unaware, back at the beginning of the season there was an issue that prevented everyone from gaining progress, specifically in the Tip of the IcebergChallenges. While we had a fix for it that worked to solve the original issue, it unfortunately had an unforeseen side effect that caused everyone with existing progress to not be able to gain any at all. In order to fix this we made the decision to reset everyone’s progress so that everyone could correctly gain progress again.

After discussing the right course of action, we want to alleviate some of the frustrations you may have experienced, due to original progress lost, as well as the time investment that was made by many of you before the challenge reset. Shortly after this post we will begin granting everyone who has logged in since the Icetide update up until now for 20k Seasonal Crystals. When we know for sure that the grant is live, we’ll also leave an edited note on this post saying its been applied. (NOTE: You may have to log out of the game and back in to see the Crystals grant.)

Additionally, we wanted to address some of the other questions the community has been asking since the start of Icetide.

Tyrant Mine – As many of you have brought up, we have not yet added Tyrant Mine to the seasonal Icetide challenge rotation yet. This is due to an issue we saw in testing that we did not feel confident in releasing until it was addressed. The good news is, this issue has been fixed and you will see Tyrant Mine in the Icetide seasonal Stronghold rotation soon.

Armor Sets – Just to let you know, we do have plans for new armor sets in this Season. Those will come later in the event following an upcoming patch.

Hopefully, a proper fix is rolled out soon, and once we know about that, we’ll let our readers know.

New Batman Arkham Game Teased by WB Montreal via Social Media

Amid rumors regarding a new Batman Arkham game, it seems this one is an actual tease, and it’s from Warner Bros. Montreal (WB Games Montreal), which is the studio behind Batman Arkham Origins.

Over on Twitter, the official WB Games Montreal account tweeted an image stating “Capture the Knight” along with half an image.

Not only that, but over on Facebook, the official WB Games Montreal page also revealed the other half of the image:

Here’s an image of the full two halves combined into one:

The insignia stands for something, and most likely holds clues, though we don’t know what it is yet. Important to note that this isn’t the first tease released by WB Games Montreal, and most likely won’t be the last.  That said, it’s high time they announce something, and just not tease stuff, no? Also, this could very well be a tease for something not related at all to the Batman franchise, though the word “knight” kinda alludes to Batman, who is often called the Dark Knight.

If you find anything worthwhile from the images, let us know what they are down in the comments.

Battlefield V 5.2.2 Time to Kill Feedback Still Being Discussed by DICE, Talks About Data Key Points

In case you haven’t been leeping tabs on Battlefield V news, a large portion (and very vocal) part of the community has been rather unhappy with the Battlefield V update 5.2.2 time to kill (TTK) changes. Given we just wrapped up the holidays, DICE is slowly getting back into the mix of things, and the chief discussion so far has once again delved into the Battlefield V 5.2.2 TTK feedback.

DICE Community Manager Jeff Braddock has gone on the official Battlefield V forums and subreddit to answer a few important questions, as well as provide an ear for the community to vent out on. Chief among the concerns touched upon regarding the Battlefield V 5.2.2 TTK feedback is how DICE is still parsing through the data, and what the key points are for these data. Note that we’ve included screenshots of some of the noteworthy replies, though we’ve also included them in the post as text in case the images don’t load (or the posts get deleted).

Per DICE Community Manager Jeff Braddock:

So much to unpack, so let’s get started.

1. The big one – DICE LA hasn’t worked on Battlefield V since … August. And that was just the two maps Lofoten Islands and Provence being refitted to the base game once the 5v5 mode was cancelled. Stockholm has basically been driving all the content and game changes otherwise – not that it matters, as we are one team. (Just a note – most of the DLC content for BF1 was done in DICE LA, as was a lot of fixes for BF4 & the 2nd year maps,  the BF4 CTE, etc. Facts are fun, huh?)
2. You can literally post without profanity – or don’t post.
3. The team is continuing to look at more tweaks and changes post 5.2.2 Hotfix based on data, telemetry, and feedback. (Note, feedback isn’t “REVERT!” It’s concise, constructive, well-thought-out detailed comments that cite examples and offer suggestions.)
4. Insults and abuse aren’t necessary – and are technically violation of the forums. Consider this your warning.
5. The studio was on holiday from around December 20 – January 7. And yeah, we will celebrate the holidays as individuals and as a company. Not even apologizing for that.

The changes were not an insult to you. That’s a bit dramatic.
And they were discussed previous to being released, then we pushed out a hotfix to make adjustments, and we’ll continue making adjustments.

We’re taking feedback and analyzing data and the Dev team will continue to make those adjustments – which is the opposite of contempt, and again, the dramatics seem a bit over the top. (I’m guessing your definition of “contempt” is “Do as I demand or you have contempt for me.” Well, that’s a bit over-the-top. I don’t have contempt for you, the Devs don’t, etc. But they have a plan and see a much bigger picture than you do regarding the changes and road forward for Battlefield V.)
That being said, I do understand your frustration but caution your “returning the favor” of your perceived “contempt”. Failure to abide by the guidelines of this forum – be constructive, don’t be abusive, etc. will result in suspension of posting privileges. I would hate for that to happen and absolutely would encourage constructive feedback – not just “revert! It sucks!” Be detailed. Provide specific examples of what’s causing you frustration without accusations, abuse or insults.

“No one likes” – That’s a pretty big generalization and unless you’ve asked everyone, it’s not accurate. I’ve engaged with countless players that have adjusted to the changes and are fine with continued tweaks. That may not be you, but please don’t assume you speak for the entire community, as you don’t.

“hopes in bringing in Christmas noobs” – I keep seeing this phrase randomly thrown about and it’s based on conjecture and assumptions.

“leaving us with a broken unsatisfing game to play” – Remove the word broken. It’s playable. It plays. It’s not broken. You may not like how it plays, it may not fit your style of play, but it’s definitely not “broken”. (There are some bugs the team are working to address with upcoming updates, and as we get closer to the release of those updates and details on those fixes, we’ll share that info.) I’m sorry you find it unsatisfying.

Do I think it’s okay for me and the Devs and other employees to take a holiday break? Absolutely.

Over on the Battlefield V subreddit, Braddock has also engaged with the community and has even touched upon the data the studio has collected so far, and how they interpret some of it, and what are “red flags.”

Great reply.

The key point for the data is to keep people playing longer (more matches, completed matches, furthered progression). If they see that “yeah, the volume of people playing has increased but the session length (time people stay in-game) has dropped” that’s a big red flag. That pivots to what the community is talking about. “Well, many don’t like the weapon changes, the spotting system changes, the vehicle/plane changes.” They focus on THOSE data points and work to improve them.

I want everyone to know (hopefully), I ABSOLUTELY understand why many want a “TTK revert”. From BFBC2 to BF4, I mainly played on Hardcore servers. It was more punishing but when you had amazing moments, they were TRULY amazing. You felt like Rambo and the Terminator had a baby named YOU.

Personally, I think if we had a HC mode (let’s say it’s the weapon systems pre-5.2, but a little faster) and “Normal” (post 5.2), it could cater to both types of players. That, in addition to more features or “mutators” in Community Games could help. These are just my thoughts – not as a CM but as a Battlefield player. (And I’ve seen a few comments that echo these ideas throughout our community).

We’ll keep an eye on this and report on any new and official info regarding TTK changes and whatnot. Are you satisfied with the current TTK of Battlefield V? Do you think the community is overreacting? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

In the meantime, don’t forget to check this week’s reset of challenges and rewards, as well as our ranking piece on the best Battlefield games of the decade.

GTA Online Update Today Introduces New Sports Car, Double Rewards and More

Rockstar Games has announced the contents of the GTA Online update today, and it introduces the first sports car of 2020 into the game, double rewards in specific modes, new discounts and lots more. Ready for it? Dive in below.

GTA Online update today – January 9, 2020:

ÖVERFLÖD IMORGON SPORTS CAR NOW AVAILABLE

Considered electric? Of course not. Recycling your eCola can is too much effort. Lucky for you, the Imorgon is the electric thoroughbred you never dared imagine. Now you can drive a revolutionary chrome molybdenum steel wonder while telling everyone you’re in it for the environment. Purchasing a spectacular sports car is the very least you could do. You’re welcome, nature.

The Överflöd Imorgon, available now from Legendary Motorsport.

Doubled Rewards:

Players can earn double rewards on the entire Arena War series, which includes modes like Carnage, Flag War, Hot Bomb, and Bomb Ball. Also, players can earn 2x G TA$ and RP by playing Resurrection, ” the Adversary Mode that allows you to revive your own fallen teammates by killing one of your enemies. That means you can only win by wiping the other team out, exterminating them before they have a chance to claw their way back into the world of the living. ”

Lastly, Double Payouts are also in effect on all Contract Missions this week.

NEW PODIUM VEHICLE: CUSTOMIZED OBEY 8F DRAFTER

Swing by the lobby of The Diamond Casino & Resort to give the Lucky Wheel a spin for the opportunity to win GTA$, RP, clothing items and more. This week’s top prize is a customized Obey 8F Drafter sports-car wrapped in the baroque Val-de-Grâce custom livery, so it’s sure to turn heads as you do double the speed limit in a residential neighborhood.

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot Character Progression Showcased in New Video

If you need a break from the multitude of Dragon Ball Z fighting games out there, Bandai Namco Entertainment has released a new trailer for the action-RPG, and it features the Dragon Ball Z Kakarot character progression and how it works.

Players will be able to cook and prepare food (Goku sure loves to eat), acquire different kinds of Z Orbs for super attacks, skills, Soul Emblems and more. There seems to be a ton of stuff to do in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot aside from just pummeling each other.

Developed by CyberConnect2, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot will make its way out this January 17, 2020 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
