It’s been a pretty busy week so far for Call of Duty, as Infinity Ward launched Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s free-to-play (F2P), standalone battle royale mode, Call of Duty: Warzone yesterday. It seems players are still excited for the genre, as the Call of Duty Warzone player count has already surpassed six million in just 24 hours of being out!
This was announced by the official Call of Duty Twitter account recently:
This isn’t really all that surprising given this is Call of Duty after all, and it’s free. Still, this is quite an accomplishment. Congrats, Activision and Infinity Ward!
We’re still putting the game to its paces and will have a review up once we can. In the meantime, go check out some of the Call of Duty: Warzone stuff we ran in the links below.
Are you liking Call of Duty: Warzone? Do you think this has the chance of toppling battle royale giants Apex Legends and Fortnite? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments below.
The COVID-19 pandemic development continues to grow as many areas are now starting to be affected by it. More so recently, E3 2020 has been cancelled due to it and now game developers are starting to take a hit at their home base. today, Battlefield developers, DICE, issued a statement on COVID-19, and how it affects their work and Battlefield 5 as a whole.
Hey folks, Today we’ve taken the necessary steps to help enable our teams across DICE with the option of working remotely, in order to best protect their health and wellbeing in response to the COVID-19 Outbreak. We also wanted to take the time and share a few quick points with you, our players, in order to help you all understand what effect this will have on our games. This will not have an impact on our infrastructure. All of our titles will remain online, our servers remain active, and we have live support teams across the globe that we work with each and every day that help to monitor and track the health of our services. If you encounter anything weird in our games, we’re likely already on top of it, and we’ll still be able to keep you informed on our progress for addressing any live issues. So what will this affect? We’ll need some time to switch up some parts of our workflows and adapt to the change. Remote work isn’t new to us, we’re a flexible Studio that always supports our team with the ability to work from home, but to do it en masse will likely throw up the odd hiccup that we’ll work with our central teams at EA to resolve as quickly as possible. We’ve also decided to openly share all of our processes, learnings and decisions with the wider Swedish games industry to support all small and big studios out there as they potentially start exploring work-from-home setups. In turn, this may result in short delays to our next sequence of monthly updates, and extend the time between updates beyond your usual expectations, but we largely anticipate no significant changes for any of our planned releases. In the meantime, we’ll still be engaged with folks across the Studio helping to share your feedback, and supporting the teams with their production of future content. We’ll keep you updated and over communicate with you on all things. If the COVID-19 Outbreak necessitates any further changes, we’ll let you know. Big thanks for your understanding. Stay healthy! EA DICE
As you can see from the memo, the studio has relayed that game updates (patches) will experience short delays given the studio’s workflow and processes are taking a hit to ensure no one is contaminated or affected by the virus spreading worldwide.
The studio also added that they are completing the review of patch 6.2, and working on finalizing patch 6.4, which will most likely miss its original first week of April release date.
While I love games and want updates pushed out ASAP, people’s lives are infinitely more important, and it’s perfectly understandable that DICE takes their time in developing Battlefield 5 all the while tip-toeing around COVID-19.
Fans of original Nioh may be disappointed (or happy) to learn that there is no Nioh 2 PvP (player vs. player) mode in the game — at least at launch. There is currently no explanation as to why there is no PvP mode in Nioh 2, though it could simply be due to the team wanting to focus more on the co-operative playstyle as the title now offers three-player co-op. This may not be surprising for some, as the demo didn’t indicate that there would be a mode, nor did Team Ninja ever speak about it since the reveal.
As of launch, the only online modes available are expeditions, random encounters. Expeditions allow you to set-up rooms or join co-operative lobbies with friends and others. It differs from the summoning option in that it functions off a life meter and shrines don’t heal players. Random Encounters is the traditional summoning method for players who need help during their own campaigns. Outside of this, you can still battle other players’ revenants, though these are CPU players. There is a clan battle mode, but this is only to donate items to gain passive perks.
Still, this doesn’t mean the mode won’t appear down the road as the first Nioh launched without it. It was not until almost seven months after release did it see a free update to add the mode, though support for it was quickly cut short as it brought a number of balancing issues.
Personally, as someone who played Nioh PvP mode when it released, I’m a bit thankful the mode isn’t returning. At the time, it was plagued with game-breaking builds that eventually caused a number of massive nerfs to skills, scrolls, and Yokai’s transformations. To say the least, it wasn’t as fun as I’d hoped for it to be and if Team Ninja does ever plan on having it make a comeback, hopefully, they separate the balancing from PvE and PvP.

While Call of Duty: Warzone just launched yesterday, it seems there’s already an Easter egg tucked away in the game in plain sight that has players scrambling to find out more. If you’ve played Warzone, you’ll see these as the Call of Duty Warzone Secret Bunkers!
Here’s a look at one of them in the game:
I found another bunker it would seem they are scattered all over Verdansk. This one is in the middle of nowhere really pic.twitter.com/KTKmvpGgvF
There’s now a dedicated group of people over on the ModernWarzone subreddt that’s aiming to find out where these Call of Duty Warzone secret bunkers are, and what they do. One of the bunkers seems to have a keypad, which no one knows what codes need to be keyed in just yet.
Over on the Airport part of the map, there’s a control tower that players can get to and players can use the phone in it.
There is a huge control tower at the Airport on the Warzone map and I think I've just spotted the first part of an Easter Egg… lets get this cracked! 👀 pic.twitter.com/MjHahXLmbQ
There are more bunkers doors found with some featuring keypads, and some that have it don’t have the number 9 for some reason.
So far, there have been 11 secret bunkers found. If you want to find where they are, here’s the map marking each bunker. Note that this isn’t the complete map for the bunkers, as no one knows how many are in the game just yet.
We’re as curious as the rest of the community is as to just what is inside these bunkers, and how they open. We’re going to keep a close eye on it and will report if anything substantial develops.
For more on Warzone, read up on our FAQ, and if you haven’t downloaded it yet, head on over here for links (for all platforms).
Following today’s announcement that E3 2020 is officially cancelled, it seems Microsoft is taking a step to make sure gamers are still getting their dose of Xbox Series X reveals this June, as the Xbox E3 2020 digital presentation has been announced.
Over on Twitter, Xbox boss Phil Spencer mentioned that they will celebrate the next generation of gaming with the Xbox comnunity with an Xbox digital event!
E3 has always been an important moment for Team Xbox. Given this decision, this year we'll celebrate the next generation of gaming with the @Xbox community and all who love to play via an Xbox digital event. Details on timing and more in the coming weeks https://t.co/xckMKBPf9h
E3 has always been an important moment for Team Xbox. Given this decision, this year we’ll celebrate the next generation of gaming with the @Xbox community and all who love to play via an Xbox digital event. Details on timing and more in the coming weeks
This means we can expect a livestream event to take place sometime this June, which isn’t all that bad given most people aren’t press members, and most wouldn’t risk going into a jam-packed convention hall with the COVID-19 pandemic happening currently.
Hopefully, even if it’s just a digital presentation, the Xbox E3 2020 livestream or video presentation brings the big guns.
Due to the ongoing development of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), E3 2020 will no longer be taking place this June.
In a statement issued this morning by event organizers, ESA (Entertainment Software Assocation), the company cited the reasoning behind E3 cancellation is the growing concern over the spread of the Coronavirus. This will be the first time ever that E3 has been canceled, with the event first starting in 1996 and going on yearly since. This news comes just one week after the ESA stated that E3 was still on schedule. You can read the full statement down below (via GameSpot).
After careful consultation with our member companies regarding the health and safety of everyone in our industry–our fans, our employees, our exhibitors and our longtime E3 partners–we have made the difficult decision to cancel E3 2020, scheduled for June 9-11 in Los Angeles.
Following increased and overwhelming concerns about the COVID-19 virus, we felt this was the best way to proceed during such an unprecedented global situation. We are very disappointed that we are unable to hold this event for our fans and supporters. But we know it’s the right decision based on the information we have today.
The ESA says that it would coordinate with both exhibitors and attendees for a full refund. As for the big event itself, the entity is exploring options with members to “coordinate an online experience” where companies can showcase industry announcements and news in June 2020.
E3 joins the latest in gaming events being canceled due to the virus. GDC was recently postponed to this Summer, but with E3 previously taking place in June, it is looking very unlikely that GDC will still happen this year. Gaming this year has suffered a major blow due to the virus, but at the end of the day, we shouldn’t be upset by this news. Safety should always be our number one priority, and right now preventing spread is of the utmost importance.
It’ll be a lot quieter this year for gaming, but for those wanting to learn of all the new exciting announcements that would have debuted at E3, you can expect many companies to now stream their reveals.

Down below you’ll find three new videos, showcasing a few of the many Mortal Kombat 11 Spawn intro scenes that will be available in Mortal Kombat 11 come next week.
You may have noticed in the last one that Kotal Kahn was being shown off in his new Skin from the Matinee Skin pack. For those unaware, the skin is called “Osh-Tekk Vandal Kotal Kahn” and is based on Conan the Barbarian. NetherRealms Studio has released a new image of the skin, giving us a better look.
And don’t worry, there’s a lot more Spawn coming as the studio has announced a new Kombat Kast that will be streaming later today! The Kombat Kast will begin at 1 PM PT // 3 PM CT // 4 PM ET and will give us a deeper look at Spawn. Expect plenty of new gameplay along with other news. We’ll be sure to post anything major, along with the new gameplay footage.
Mortal Kombat 11’s Spawn will release on March 17 for Kombat Pack owners, and to everyone else on March 24. His release will mark the end of the Kombat Pack, but don’t fret as studio’s creative director Ed Boon recently confirmed that more support and surprises are on their way to the game later this year.

Nioh 2 1.01 Update
Fixes various bugs
Nioh 2 1.02 Update

This “technically” can be considered as the day one update (for discs), but we are sure we will see another patch come launch to further squash any other issues.
Along with the main game download, players can also download any additional pre-order bonuses and Deluxe edition items like the PS4 theme, Demon Horde Katana weapon, Demon Horde Armor, and the first Samurai Armor.

In case you didn’t know, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare got a big patch earlier today, which brought in Call of Duty: Warzone (battle royale)! However, in addition to the all-new game, Infinity Ward also included a bunch of gameplay tweaks and changes to the multiplayer as well, and this includes a Modern Warfare new mini map option!
Digging through the patch notes, it mentions how Infinity Ward is now giving players the option to change the mini map. Here’s what it specifically states:
Added option to toggle a square or circular minimap
Before the patch, the mini map is circular, and starting today, the Modern Warfare new mini map option presented by Infinity Ward will let you turn that circle into a square. Why would you do that, you might ask? Well, it seems it gives you significantly more coverage! Don’t believe us? Check it out for yourself below.
Pretty noticeable, right? While enemies firing still won’t show up unless you have a UAV or a Personal Radar, the added extra real estate on the mini-map lets you see a wee bit farther. Sure, it covers more of the screen, but the trade-off seems worth it. In fact, our very our Staff member, James decided to provide a set of images to further show how much of an increase the new mini-map adds.
In this testing done via split-screen, he placed both players in the exact same spot but from different elevations. One above, the other directly below. He made sure that the character icon on the mini-map was both laying on one another.
The next shot shows the added amount when you match the maps up on top of one another. The second image is to show that anything within red is what is missing in the circle mini-map.
A lot more noticeable when you compare them directly.
Have you tried the new mini map option? If so, which do you prefer?
While we just got a Zombie Army 4: Dead War update earlier today, Rebellion has, for some weird reason, released another Zombie Army 4 patch today! This is Zombie Army 4 update 1.06, and it includes just one fix (nope, not kidding) according to the patch notes.
For reference, we’re including the patch notes for Zombie Army 4: Dead War patch 1.06 and 1.05.
Zombie Army 4 update 1.06 patch notes (via update history):
1.06:
– Fix for headgear becoming incorrectly locked
1.05:
– Support for latest DLC mission & weapons/skins
– Characters and headgear can now be swapped mid mission at workbenches
– Bugfixes and improvements
Here’s some of the new content introduced today via the press release:
Campaign Mission “Terror Lab”
American Sea Captain
PPSH Sub-machine Gun Bundle
M1 Semi-auto Carbine Bundle
Molten Lava Weapon Skins
Classic Boris Outfit
FREE Horde Map “Undead Wood”
If you notice any changes not mentioned in the notes, feel free to jump in the comments and share what they are. If you’re baffled why two patches were released in one day for the game, so are we! We’re keeping tabs on the game’s Twitter to see if anything is revealed about it.
Following last month’s announcement by BioWare that Anthem is getting a re-work, it seems one of the changes being done by the studio is an Anthem Regulator Store update.
Over on Reddit, BioWare Community Manager Andrew Johnson announced that the studio has rolled out an update to the Anthem Regulator Store. Originally, players could use the Coin they earned in-game in exchange for various crafting components. Starting today, the Regulator Store will now sell Legendary items for Coin. Players will have the option to purchase Legendary weapons or a Legendary item for each class. Level 30 players will get these items at 89 power, and players below level 30 will get these items scaled down to their respective levels.
Those who don’t want to log in, Reddit user JVlayhem posted the items for the store’s new update and what items are for sale.
Gear: 2k Coins each (appears to be one weapon along with one skill for each javelin)
Ralner’s Blaze
Last Argument
Fist of the Crucible
Ponder Infinity
Raneri’s Charge
Additionally Material costs were reworked.
Uncommon Ember: 50
Rare Ember: 100
Epic Ember: 200
MW Ember: 500
Chimeric Alloy: 200
Chimeric Compound: 200
Javelin Parts: Removed
Most likely, BioWare will add and remove items on a rotation basis, and if ever they update it, we’ll make sure Anthem players know about it.
Those who want to play a new battle royale experience and for free, Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Warzone is now live and free for everyone! While the mode was made available earlier today, it was for those who owned Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Now, though, it’s free for everyone and yes, you do NOT need to own Modern Warfare to play this.
If you can’t find the game client, we’re here to help! Below are the Call of Duty Warzone download links for PS4, Xbox One, and PC!
In Warzone’s Battle Royale mode, drop into the massive Verdansk world with 150 players in teams of three to loot and fight to be the last squad standing in a colossal firefight. In this redefined Battle Royale, players of all skill levels and playstyles will find new ways to play and be rewarded in the survival game mode.
Players can collect in-match Cash to purchase equipment, Field Upgrades, Killstreaks or Revive Tokens for fallen teammates at Buy Stations located throughout the map to help turn the tide of war.
Squads can choose to take on Contracts, optional in-match mini-missions located throughout the map that payout in epic in-match rewards upon completion, including rare loot, in-match Cash, XP, and Weapon XP to help squads get the upper hand on the competition.
If you go down in a match, it doesn’t mean you’re out for the count. In Warzone’s Battle Royale, there are different ways players can earn their way back into the fight:
The Gulag is an all-new way to earn a second chance at survival in Battle Royale. Upon being eliminated, players will be taken to the Gulag to face-off against another fallen player in a 1v1 winner-takes-all gunfight, for a chance to redeploy back into the match.
In addition, players can earn enough in-match Cash to purchase a Self-Revive Kit in order to heal themselves after being downed by an opponent.
Players can also bring back fallen teammates by earning enough in-match Cash to purchase a Squad Buyback at Buy Stations scattered throughout the map.
Official description for Plunder (game mode):
Warzone also features the all-new, large-scale combat mode Plunder, where the freedom and gameplay variety of Battle Royale meets fast-paced Call of Duty action.
In Plunder, teams drop into an action-packed race to collect as much in-match Cash as possible by raiding Supply Boxes, eliminating opponents, completing Contracts or by controlling key Cash deposit locations throughout the map.
Each player gets unlimited respawns, their own loadout, killstreaks and more, as they employ multiple team strategies to grow and safeguard their collection of in-match Cash.
There are a variety of ways to achieve victory, creating nearly endless epic moments and creative possibilities to win this battleground heist.
We also posted a big FAQ that should answer most questions would-be players have.
Stay tuned for our Call of Duty: Warzone review hitting the site once we’ve had enough time with the game.

If you’ve yet to get the game, we suggest you do! Our review of it can be seen here where we said the following:
Ultimately, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is the best Star Wars game we’ve gotten since EA got the rights and probably the best Star Wars game since the original Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic
High praise, right? And it deserves it. Hopefully, we get an expansion soon to the campaign or something new soon.
If you spot any changes made to the game via this new patch, let us know down in the comments and we’ll credit you if we include it in the post.

With the update The Doctor received in the last mid-chapter, there are now two ways to inflict Madness: Shock Therapy, and Static Blast. To make it clearer what is required to increase a Survivor’s Madness level, we are making the following changes:
Madness no longer decays passively over time.
Shock Therapy will add half of a Madness level to any Survivors hit.
Static Blast will add a full Madness level to any Survivors hit.
Reverse skill checks now happen 2/3 of the time an insane skill check is triggered by default.
In numbers:
Previously, the thresholds for madness tier 1, 2 and 3 were 5, 55, and 105 points respectively.
Shock therapy granted 30 points of madness and static blast granted 50.
While outside the terror radius, madness would decay by 0.5 points per second.
These thresholds were based on how much passive madness gain the Doctor used to have. Without that mechanic, the madness thresholds can be simplified.
The new tiers for madness 1, 2 and 3 are 1, 2 and 3 points respectively.
Shock therapy grants 0.5 points of madness and static blast grants 1
There is no passive madness decay. The only way to reduce madness is to Snap Out Of It.
Previously, the “Order” add-ons increased the amount of madness inflicted by Static blast. They now reduce Static Blast’s cooldown instead.
Previously, the “Discipline” add-ons increased the amount of madness inflicted by Shock Therapy. They now reduce the detonation delay of Shock Therapy instead.
Further add-on changes:
The Doctor’s madness can be customized by using his “Affliction” add-ons: Order, Discipline, Calm, Restraint and Obedience. Add-ons of the same type granted similar debuffs, but each one varied slightly in magnitude or madness threshold. The end result was that it was often unclear which add-on did what, and the lower rarity add-ons often seemed very unappealing in comparison to the higher rarity ones.
The “Afflictions” have now been standardized to be the same across all rarities. Only the passive bonus is different.
Order (Illusionary Pallets)
Order – Class 1/2/3: Reduces the cooldown of Static Blast by 2/4/6 seconds
The Affliction of Order used to vary in terms of what madness tier was required to show pallets, and how far away from the doctor pallets could spawn. These variables are now the same across Order – Class 1, Order – Class 2 and Order – Carter’s Notes
Survivors with Madness suffer from the Affliction of Order:
Broken pallets may appear to be replaced with Illusionary Pallets that persist until approached.
A new Illusionary Pallet is generated at the location of a random broken pallet very 20 seconds.
The Doctor shares in his patients’ Madness in order to read the auras of Illusionary Pallets.
Discipline (Illusionary Killer Stain):
Discipline – Class 1/2/3: Now reduces the detonation delay of Shock Therapy by -0.1 seconds, -0.2 seconds and -0.3 seconds.
The Affliction of Discipline used to vary in terms of how long the effect would stay active and whether they required a chase to activate. These variables are now the same across Discipline – Class 2, Discipline – Class 3 and Discipline – Carter’s Notes
Survivors with Madness suffer from the Affliction of Discipline:
Madness II: While in a chase, survivors perceive an Illusionary Red Stain and Terror Radius as though The Doctor were right behind them. This effect persists for 6 seconds after the chase ends.
Madness III: Illusionary Red Stain and Terror Radius are constantly active.
The Doctor shares in his patients’ Madness in order to see the Illusionary Red Stain.
Restraint (Illusionary Doctor):
Restraint – Class 1,2,3: Now reveals Survivors’ auras for 1/2/3 seconds.
The Affliction of Restraint used to vary in terms of how much extra duration would be granted to illusionary doctor hallucinations. These variables are now the same across Restraint – Class 2, Restraint – Class 3 and Restraint – Carter’s Notes.
The passive bonuses of the restraint add-ons have not been changed.
Survivors with Madness suffer from the Affliction of Restraint:
Increased Illusionary Doctor duration to 8 seconds (These hallucinations normally last 1 second)
The Doctor shares in his patients’ Madness in order to read the Auras of Illusionary Doctors at any level. (This effect is normally only active in madness 3)
Calm (Illusionary Terror Radius)
Calm – Class 1,2,3: Terror radius increased/decreased by 4/6/8 meters
Additive modifiers for Terror Radius are clearer and the result of stacking multiple modifiers is simpler to calculate. This is a slight increase in the effect for Class 1 and 2, and Carter’s Notes are equivalent (25% of 32 is 8)
The Affliction of Calm used to vary in terms of what madness tier was required to activate it, how long it stayed active, and how long it took between activations. These variables are now the same across Calm – Class 1, Calm – Class 2 and Calm – Carter’s Notes
Survivors with Madness suffer from the Affliction of Calm:
Madness II: Intermittently causes survivors to hear a distant illusionary Heartbeat (10-15 seconds active, 30-45 seconds inactive)
Madness III: Constantly causes survivors to hear a distant illusionary Heartbeat
Obedience (Reverse Skill Checks)
Obedience broke the pattern of affliction add-ons and has been removed. Reverse skill checks have been integrated into the Doctor’s base ability.
When afflicted by a Madness Skill Check, there is a 33% chance of an off-center skill check, a 33% chance of a reverse skill check, and a 33% chance of a reverse off-center skill check. This is baseline and requires no add-ons.
Scrapped Tape, which was previously removed, has returned to take Obedience – Class III’s place.
Iridescent King
Previously, this add-on would inflict a random affliction on a survivor every time they were shocked. These afflictions would stack, until a survivor had all 5 afflictions after 5 shocks. However, this was mostly unnecessary, as these afflictions still had the same madness thresholds for activation. In light of the changes to the afflictions, Iridescent King has been simplified and the need to shock survivors to inflict afflictions has been removed:
Survivors with Madness suffer from the Afflictions of Calm, Discipline, Order, and Restraint:
Intermittently causes survivors to hear a distant illusionary Heartbeat.
While in a chase, survivors perceive an Illusionary Red Stain and Terror Radius as though The Doctor were right behind them. This effect persists for 6 seconds after the chase ends and is constantly active in Madness III.
Broken pallets may appear to be replaced with Illusionary Pallets that persist until approached. A new Ilusionary Pallet is generated at the location of a random broken pallet every 20 seconds.
Increases Illusionary Doctor duration to 8 seconds and grants the ability to read their auras at any level of madness.
Electrodes:
The electrode add-ons increased shock therapy range by a percentage at the cost of a small penalty to shock therapy charge speed. This has been changed to grant extra range (in meters) with no penalty.
(The base range of Shock Therapy is 10 meters)
Mouldy Electrode: Increases the range of Shock Therapy by 2 meters (previously +15% range, -5% charge speed)
Polished Electrode: Increases the range of Shock Therapy by 3 meters (previously +25% range, -10% charge speed)
High-Stimulus Electrode: Increases the range of Shock Therapy 4 meters (previously +35% range, -15% charge speed)
Interview Tape: Range increased from 20 meters to 24 meters
Survivor Perks
Saboteur: See Hook auras in a 56 meters radius from the pickup spot if a Survivor is being carried. Sabotaging a Hook without a toolbox takes 2.5 seconds. The Sabotage action has a 60 seconds cooldown.
The Perk Ace in the Hole now adds the ability to keep the addons when escaping a trial with an item.
Killer Perks
Hangman’s Trick: Reduce the Perk range to 2, 4 and 6 meters.
