Mortal Kombat 11 Update 1.11 Kicks Out

NetherRealm Studios has rolled out a small Mortal Kombat 11 update, and it’s up now! Mortal Kombat 11 update 1.11 is just at 600MB on the PS4, 1.2GB on Xbox One, and could very well be a patch to prep for the Terminator’s arrival tomorrow for  those who own the Kombat Pack.

On the PS4, NetherRealm Studios has listed the Mortal Kombat 11 update 1.11 patch notes to say ” General bug fixes,” and “Gameplay updates,” which is the norm for almost all games. That said, there’s no evidence of anything that changed so far, and we’re waiting for NetherRealm Studios to acknowledge this patch (if they ever do), since they do post patch notes super late. However, what we can confirm is, it doesn’t fix the duplicate skin glitch, nor does it include the new game mode called Team Raid, and based on the Mortal Kombat 11 subreddit’s comments, Skeleton Keys and Gears drop rates haven’t been affected too.

If ever NetherRealm Studios does release the patch notes, expect it around 8 or 9 p.m. ET, and we’ll update the post if we get anything substantial.

In other Mortal Kombat 11 news, make sure to check out our first glimpse of the Terminator in actual gameplay here. Once the new fighter is out, we’ll post a reminder with download links.

Rumor: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Microtransactions Will Be “Decent” at First, but Will Get “Nasty” Over Time

If you’ve played any Call of Duty game over the past few years, you’ve no doubt seen how Activision has implemented microtransactions into their games with the Supply Drops (read: loot box) system. It looks like the Modern Warfare microtransactions route will follow the same path, as it will be okay-ish at first, before getting worse over time.

This was divulged by reliable Modern Warfare leaker TheGamingRevolution who posted that the Modern Warfare mtx (microtransactions) system will be “decent” at first, before it gets “nasty” as time goes on.

https://twitter.com/TheGamingRevoYT/status/1180265722318073862

Also of note, he also mentions that gun camos will be in Supply Drops as well as stickers, charms, etc., which should surprise no one.

https://twitter.com/TheGamingRevoYT/status/1180266224489504768

Again, just a reminder to people that these are rumors and as such, should be taken with a grain of salt. That said though, it’s clear now that TheGamingRevolution does have someone from the inside feeding him info, so that’s why we’re reporting on it rather than ignoring it like the rest of the rumors floating about.

My guess? Modern Warfare will roll out with the in-game store not operational, and once after reviews are out, and players have had their fun, microtransactions will be rolled out. Let’s just hope the rumors of weapons being included in Supply Drops don’t come true.

What are you expecting in terms of Modern Warfare microtransactions? Are you optimistic it’ll be better than in Black Ops 4 or have you given up at this point?

This was announced by Sony on the official PlayStation support page, with the following message:

Starting on October 7th, 2019 Facebook integration will no longer be supported on the PS4™ system. This includes Facebook’s share features such as posting gameplay and trophy activity and using the friend finder feature. We apologize for any inconvenience.

What this means for you:

PlayStation®4’s share features will remain the same, except Facebook will no longer be offered as a destination to share screenshots, videos, music, trophy details, or links to gameplay broadcasts.

  • Users will no longer have the ability to link their Facebook account to their PlayStation™Network account. This means Friends List features, such as adding friends from Facebook will be removed.
  • Profile pictures imported from Facebook will no longer be used.  We recommend selecting a new picture for PlayStation® friends to identify you.  There are multiple options for changing your profile picture on PS4™ to an Avatar or image of your choosing.

Yeah, Sony could have possibly announced this a wee bit earlier, but for some reason they didn’t.

Destiny 2 Garden of Salvation First Finishers Are the Ascend Clan, Watch It All Unfold Here

In case you didn’t know, Destiny 2’s latest expansion also brought with it a new raid mission called “Garden of Salvation.” As is with every Destiny raid, a ton of clans worldwide race to become the first ones to finish it, and the Ascend clan has been crowned as the Destiny 2 Garden of Salvation first finishers in the world!

The Ascend clan took six hours and 13 minutes to finish the Destiny 2 Shadowkeep raid, and it was a close one. According to Bungie, Ascend and the second place finishers were separated by just two minutes and 33 seconds! You can watch the condensed 50-minute version of the Destiny 2 Garden of Salvation completion below (yes, there are spoilers). Note that this shows the actual run, and doesn’t show the team running into roadblocks, and figuring the puzzles out.

If you’d rather watch the entire thing from start to finish, go check out Ascen clan member ExBlack’s Twitch channel. Just don’t forget to grab a ton of snacks or something as it clocks in at over nine hours!

For Ascend’s accomplishment, they will get championship belts from Bungie! However, this will affect everyone who plays Destiny 2 Shadowkeep, as Ascend’s completion triggers the Vex’s arrival on the Moon patrol zone, and even a new Vex Offensive co-op mode is now unlockable by talking to Ikora Rey in the Tower.

The Division 2 Apparel Changes Coming in Title Update 6, Explorers Event Extended

Agents in The Division 2 who love collecting apparel in the game, rejoice! Ubisoft Massive will be rolling out The Division 2 apparel changes in Title Update 6! Not only that, but the Explorers Event — which is currently on-going — has been extended.

First off, The Division 2 apparel changes! Here’s what’s happening to apparel cache keys:

STANDARD APPAREL CACHE CHANGES

Changes to how you earn Standard Apparel Caches are coming with Title Update 6. Since the launch of The Division 2, we have observed some confusion with earning these caches, and especially around collecting fragments and converting Standard Apparel Cache Fragments into fully fleshed out keys. Fragments were hard to track with the variety of different sources they come from but also easily missed in a number of Proficiency caches, and required crafting to convert to full usable keys.

To streamline this experience, starting soon, we will remove the fragments altogether and there will only be one type of key—Standard Key. This key will have a chance to drop from Field Proficiency, Dark Zone Proficiency, and Conflict.

If you currently own a variety of fragments from the previous system in place, don’t worry! You will receive conversions based on the following criteria:

  • For every 100 fragments in your inventory, you will receive one Standard Key, rounded up. So if you have 101 fragments, this rounds up to two Standard Keys.
  • For every Specialized Key (previous fragments cost = 100), you will receive one Standard Key as these are being converted 1:1.
  • For every Superior Key (previous fragments cost = 250), you will receive three Standard Keys.
  • For every High-End Key (this key came from promotions only, such as Ubisoft Club Rewards), you will receive five Standard Keys.

You don’t need to do anything to have these fragments converted, as this will happen automatically with Title Update 6, when you first log in after the update.

As for the Explorers Event, here’s the overview of the event schedule:

Here’s a full overview of the updated event schedule:

  • Event Live—September 24th to October 15th. During this period, Event keys can be earned from gameplay activities.
  • Event Closing—October 15th to October 22nd. If you have leftover keys available, be sure to use them now, as the event items can only be obtained until this date. The reward for completing the event – the Space Explorer uniform can also only be obtained until this period ends. You can use your unspent keys, as well as purchase additional ones to get all the Explorers event apparel.
  • Post Event—October 22nd onward. As outlined earlier, the Explorers items will not go into the Standard Cache Pool, and the pool of this cache will be reduced to around 100 items.

As a reminder, In order to earn keys, you need to be at least level 30 and complete the Capitol Stronghold to enter World Tier 1, at which point you are granted a Weekly Apparel Project. Event keys can be obtained from the following sources:

  • Weekly Apparel Projects: three keys each
  • Chance to drop when reaching Field Proficiency
  • Chance to drop when reaching Dark Zone Proficiency
  • Direct purchase with Premium Credits

Don’t forget, the inventory system and interface are also getting updated in Title Update 6 too. Here’s the pre-release patch notes for Title Update 6, though it’s not the final one.

Marvel’s Avengers Game Length to Be 10-12 Hours for Core Story, Devs Says It’s Similar to Tomb Raider

With Marvel’s Avengers seemingly set to become one of 2020’s biggest games, it’s understandable that some people might be wondering just how much time will they pour into the game before it’s finished. Thankfully, Crystal Dynamics has spoken out about the Marvel’s Avengers game length.

In an interview, Crystal Dynamics Senior Brand Director Rich Briggs mentions how the Marve’s Avengers game length will run the gamer about 10-12 hours for the core story.

I think it’ll depend on exactly how deep you want to go into it…So if you think about previous Crystal games, you know that if you want to be playing your way through the core story, it’s going to be in that area, 10 to 12 hours.

Briggs compares it the Tomb Raider games (the most recent ones) when it comes to game length, and how if you want to do all the side missions and whatnot, it will run you about 30 hours. Note that Crystal Dynamics is also the studio behind Tomb Raider, so fans should expect some gameplay/mission structure similarities.

But if you want to see everything there is, and do all the side missions and everything else, you’re generally looking at 30 plus hours in the Tomb Raider games…So we’re not putting exact numbers on it just yet, but you can expect something comparable to what we’ve done in the past with that regard. And then, of course, you have the extended narrative and the extended game plan, more heroes post-launch.

Don’t forget though, Crystal Dynamics seems to be aiming Marvel’s Avengers to be similar to games like Destiny where more post-launch content will be added.

Is this a good enough length for you given that we’ll be spending most of our time in multiplayer anyway?

Marvel’s Avengers Won’t Feature Local Co-Op, Here’s a Look at Every Character Finisher and Costume

While Marvel’s Avengers will feature four-player multiplayer, don’t expect any offline co-op to be available at all.

In a presentation at the New York Comic-Con, Crystal Dynamics Head of Studio Scot Amos confirmed that there will be no Avengers game local co-op feature. While that might be bad news for most, here’s some good stuff for the day: check out this three-minute video showcasing the character finishers and costumes!

I hope there’s more finishers in the game, as what we’ve seen might get old after doing it a doze or so times.

In other Marvel’s Avengers news, Crystal Dynamics has not said no to custom characters being available in the game. Don’t forget to check out the list of contents available in the Collector’s Edition, as well as the latest gameplay trailer confirming Ms. Marvel’s inclusion in the roster.

Marvel’s Avengers will be out this May 15, 2020 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Rumor: New Modern Warfare Prestige System to Be “Seasonal,” More Info Coming Soon, Custom Emblems Won’t Be Available

Remember when we reported the rumor that there won’t be a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Prestige system, and that Infinity Ward will be going with something new? It seems we’ll be hearing more about that “soon,” and that the studio is going with something “Seasonal” when it comes to it. This was once again leaked by reliable Modern Warfare leaker TheGamingRevolution.

https://twitter.com/TheGamingRevoYT/status/1180268900237430784

In addition to that, he mentioned that Modern Warfare custom emblems won’t be available at all, which might bum some people out.

https://twitter.com/TheGamingRevoYT/status/1180418795791421440

He also claims that Clans, which will be now known as Regiments, have been pushed back after launch, and that we’ll get more info close to release.

https://twitter.com/TheGamingRevoYT/status/1180418928226512896

Again, given these are rumors until Infinity Ward/Activision confirms or debunks them, so take them with a grain of salt, alright?

Speaking of rumors, don’t forget to check out the rumored Modern Warfare launch maps which we posted yesterday. There’s also the Modern Warfare weapons list which got datamined as well.

Death Stranding NPCs Can Die Based on Player Actions

Hideo Kojima continues to express that connections are very important in Death Stranding, up to the point that some of the Death Stranding NPCs (non-player controlled characters) will even play a role in characters’ deaths.

During a recent panel held at the Garage Museum of Modern Art in Moscow, game director Hideo Kojima shed some new details on the Death Stranding player actions and world, confirming that certain actions can affect certain NPCs. This is a rough translation and has been reworded to better explain it in the English language. During the stream Kojima mentioned a character who he described to be an old man living deep underground.

One of the mission tied to this character is to deliver him medicine. This is a mission that can be repeatedly done since the character is in constant need of medicine and other items, and in exchange for these goods the character will discuss stories from the past. As the main campaign progresses and the world of Death Stranding expands, players will continue to move further and further away from this specific character. They may remember him and go back, thus improving the connection between the player and him, and others may forget to bring him medicine, which will eventually result in his death. Kojima closes this segment hoping that the significance of connections is revealed through this detail.

This is certainly the first time we are hearing about this (for this game), though it isn’t all to surprising, despite the game not indicating there’s any dialogue choices, we have in the least seen that certain actions does have a direct effect on the world itself as confirmed in our previous report that players will eventually be able to construct highways and such. It’ll be interesting to see how deep this goes, and if it’ll in anyway affect the main characters in the story.

Death Stranding is launching officially for the PlayStation 4 on November 8.

Marvel’s Avengers Custom Characters “On The Table,” No Gameplay Behind a Paywall

It would appear that Marvel’s Avengers custom characters may actually happen, as a Crysal Dynamics developer has confirmed that it is still very much “on the table” as of right now.

Speaking to GameSpot, Crystal Dynamic’s Studio Head Scot Amos, talked about how the team is pulling from the 80 years of Marvel Comic history.  Among those questions were many pertaining to was post-launch support, including reiterating that future heroes would be free. While that was already confirmed, Scot did clarify that this does extend out to the gameplay in general, as they don’t want to have anything related to gameplay behind a paywall.

We’ve been very transparent about there being outfits you can only earn in-game and outfits you can only buy from the marketplace. That’s okay, if you want to invest into that particular lifestyle in a deep way. People buy Hulk T-shirts right now. You can buy outfits on our marketplace, but there’s tons of them you can earn simply by doing missions in the game. So that’s our path of looking at it, saying there’s no paywalls for gameplay. There’s never going to be an, “I can’t actually get this hero because I have to go do some other transactions.” We want the heroes to be like the Avengers.

And we couldn’t agree more on this statement, as the amount of microtransactions that tend to hide gameplay components in them have certainly grown over the past few years.

Continuing on with the interview and the discussion of heroes, Scot was then asked about the possibility of being able to create some Avengers game custom characters. Scot simply replied with “It is not off the table. I’ll put it that way.”

This is neither a solid confirmation that it will be in the game at launch, though from that statement we can in the very least assume that they are playing around with the idea of it being an option. This could be a fun feature for cooperative play, though we can understand why some may not want it for the main campaign.

In other Marvel’s Avengers news, a new trailer was released yesterday confirming that Ms. Marvel will be part of the roster. We also got a screenshot confirming that power levels will be based on armor stats.

Marvel’s Avengers launches May 15, 2020 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.

Call of Duty Mobile Downloads Exceeds 35 Million at Launch

It looks like Activision has hit a bullseye with Call of Duty Mobile! In a press release, Activision has announced that the Call of Duty Mobile downloads have now exceeded 35 million (iOS and Android combined), making it the fastest first or third-person action game to reach that number!

Not only that, but the publisher has also announced that Call of Duty Mobile has now reached the #1 app ranking on the App Store based on downloads in over 100 countries!

“The response from fans across both Android and iOS has been amazing. Already, Call of Duty: Mobile has surpassed 35 million downloads on its way to becoming the #1 ranked iOS app in downloads overall, not only among games, but also among all apps, in 100 countries. This is an incredibly fun experience, and we’re only getting started. Congratulations to the teams at Activision and at our partner Tencent’s TiMi Studios for making such a great game for players. And special thanks to our fans for their continued support. There is a ton more to look forward to as we release more content and updates.” – Rob Kostich, president, Activision.

Developed by TiMi Studios, and published by Activision in partnership with Tencent, Call of Duty Mobile is a free-to-play shooter and is the first time the mega-franchise has a full-fledged version out on mobile devices.

Will this replace the mainline Call of Duty console entries as the game of choice for franchise fans? Probably not, but this is a good first step.

If you want to check out gameplay of it, head on over here.

The Division 2 Inventory and Interface Getting an Update in Episode 2

In Title Update 6, which is The Division 2’s next major patch, we’re also getting Episode 2, along with a host of gameplay changes and tweaks. Ubisoft Massive has today confirmed that one of these changes is a The Division 2 inventory update.

Ubisoft mentions that with Title Update 6, the studio will be introducing new ways to navigate your inventories, along with interface updates. Check ’em out below.

MORE LOADOUTS

We are excited to announce more loadouts coming with Episode 2, for a total of 12. Each loadout perk upgrade will give you 3 new slots. Specializations and grenades are now tied to loadouts too, making build swapping more convenient overall.

DYE AND SKINS MENU

Located in the apparel inventory, the Dye and Skins Menu lists all owned weapon skins and gear dyes for easy applications. Choose the desired gear dye or weapon skin to apply to all pieces of gear or equipped weapons straight from the menu.

Episode 2 is bringing more information to the interface regarding weapon damage, specifically Base Damage. Going forward, all weapons will display their rolled damage and how this value compares to the base damage of the weapon.

MOD INVENTORY REDESIGN

We have received a ton of feedback regarding the mod inventory, and we redesigned the interface for more efficient navigation. When opening the Mod Inventory in Episode 2, you will see your mods divided into three categories: Offensive, Defensive, and Utility. There will be a fourth category— Generic—if you still have any old mods left in your inventory. On top of this, there’s a toggleable grid view option for listing these mods in your inventories.

NAMED ITEM VISUALS

Yes, named items are coming to The Division 2, and we want to ensure you recognize these items and talents in your inventories. Going forward, all named items and talents will be marked with a chevron (“v” shaped) watermark and written in high-end text color.

“MARK AS” OPTIONS

We introduced new options to the Item Flags inventory system: Mark For Donation and Mark For Recalibration. The first marks items for Project donations while the latter marks them for recalibration fodder. With these new options, you can more easily mark items to suit your needs. Mark As Favorite is still available as well.

The Player Overview Panel now gives more information up-front in one consolidated space. Equipped weapon damage and rpm are listed here, in addition to skill power for each equipped skill. When browsing through the inventory, comparison values are shown as well.

A detailed Breakdown page is available in Episode 2 for every attribute, statistic, and talent on the Player Statistics Sheet. On this page, anything contributing to the highlighted statistic is listed directly.

Marvel’s Avengers Ms. Marvel Confirmed and Revealed in New Trailer

We’ve reported on it before, but today it has been officially announced that Kamala Khan or otherwise known as Ms. Marvel will be joining the roster of playable characters for Marvel’s Avengers.

You can watch the Avengers game Ms Marvel trailer down below, which includes new gameplay and story segments.

For those that don’t, Kamala Khan is one of the many people to take up the Ms. Marvel mantle. Ms. Marvel originally debuted in 1977, though her identity was that of Carol Danvers, whom many us know her today as Captain Marvel. Since her initial debut there have been many iterations to take up the Ms. Marvel with the more recent one being Kamala.

“Telling our story of Kamala’s coming-of-age brings a fresh, hopeful perspective to the gameplay experience and her unique abilities as Ms. Marvel make her a character every person will want to play,” said Shaun Escayg, Creative Director and Writer at Crystal Dynamics. “Kamala Khan is the defining ingredient that makes our game stand apart from any Avengers story you’ve experienced before.”

The character will be voiced by Sandra Saad, whom of which states she is very excited to voice the character,

Kamala’s a tremendous inspiration to me,” shared Sandra. “She’s so relatable, and I think we can all find aspects of ourselves in her. So, at the end of the day, playing her ended up feeling like I was playing a super version of myself. I ultimately focused on paying homage to who Kamala is but bringing my own dash of originality and uniqueness to the role whenever appropriate.”

Marvel’s Avengers will be launching next May on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.

Report: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Weapons List Leaked via Datamine, Weapon Blueprints Explained

Possibly one of the best outcomes for Call of Duty going back to its boots on grounds roots in Modern Warfare is now we have real life guns once more. In the beta, we got a taste of some of the weapons coming to the game, but it seems the Modern Warfare weapons list has been leaked via datamining.

Before anyone reads on, note that not all the weapons listed below (via VGSources) have been confirmed to be in the game, as some might be released post-launch, or removed entirely with game code left behind. Also, we don’t know for sure if this is the full and complete list or whether Infinity Ward has added more that will be available at launch.

Assault Rifles:

  • Oden
  • AK-12
  • Honey Badger
  • AK-47
  • FAL
  • M13
  • FR 5.56
  • FN Scar 17s
  • Kilo 141
  • M4A1

Submachine Guns:

  • UMP-45
  • AK-74
  • PP-19 Bizon
  • AUG
  • MP5
  • Uzi
  • MP7 (akimbo)
  • P90

Shotguns:

  • Spas-12
  • Origin 12
  • Model 680
  • 725
  • R9-0

Light Machine Guns:

  • MG34
  • M91
  • SA87
  • PKM

Marksman Rifles:

  • M14
  • Kar98k
  • MK2 Carbine

Launchers:

  • MGL-32 Grenade Launcher
  • Rambo Grenade Launcher
  • PILA
  • Strela-p
  • JOKR
  • RPG-7
  • SA-24 Grinch Infrared SAM
  • MGL-32 Incendiary Launcher

Sniper Rifles:

  • HDR
  • Dragunov
  • AX-50
  • Crossbow
  • Intervention

Pistols:

  • .357
  • .50 GS (akimbo)
  • X16 (akimbo)
  • .44 Magnum (akimbo)
  • 1911 (akimbo)
  • M19
  • USP 45.

According to the list, there’s roughly 50 weapons available in the game, which isn’t bad. Note that the crossbow is included in the Sniper category, and according to a rumor, this will be the first weapon available via Supply Drops.

Speaking of weapons, redditor MRMD123456 made a very good point in how attachments work, and how they are renamed in real life once the proper attachments are slotted in.

Dear IW, when base guns are customised into another weapon can the name of that gun change?

Thankfully, Infinity Ward Art Director Joel Emslie explained how this would work with the game’s “Blueprints.”

When you gunsmith a weapon you can save it as a blueprint, name it, and use it in your loadout. The designated weapon name will show up first and then the blueprint name. Really nice way to get technical with your mods.

This is definitely a nice touch. I can see players picking different attachments for the same weapon and putting a Blueprint on it already. This should be useful for different types of engagements.

In other Modern Warfare news, the official description of the PS4-exclusive mode for Spec Ops Survival has been revealed. Cross-progression across platforms has been confirmed too, which should be another welcome addition to the franchise.

New Battlefield 5 Survey Released, Includes Grading Scale for Every Map

This isn’t new, but if you ever  took part in DICE’s Battlefield 5 feedback and such, a new Battlefield 5 survey has been released today, and this one lets you grade each map in the game!

Comprising of roughly around 16 questions, it’s the standard stuff that people have answered before, though this one lets you grade each and every map in Battlefield 5 from a scale of 1-10! Also, it asks you at the end whether the game plays better after the latest (4.6) patch.

New Battlefield 5 survey October 4

If you play Battlefield 5, you definitely need to take part in this survey. And before anyone asks, yes, I graded Operation Underground the highest out of all the maps, since I love Op Metro.

Don’t forget to check out the Battlefest event schedule here to see what’s happening all throughout October.
