Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PC Requirements for Minimum & Recommended Listed, 175GB Required

With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare set to assault consoles (PS4, Xbox One), and PC in a matter of weeks, Activision has now revealed the Modern Warfare PC requirements for both minimum and recommended specs.

Listed over on Battle.net, check out the minimum and recommended requirements below.

Modern Warfare PC requirements – minimum:

Operating System

Windows® 7 64-bit (SP1) or Windows® 10 64-bit

Processor

Intel® Core™ i3-4340 or AMD FX-6300

Video

NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 670 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon™ HD 7950 – DirectX 12.0 compatible system

Memory

8 GB RAM

Storage

175 GB available hard drive space

Internet

Broadband Internet connection

Modern Warfare PC requirements – recommended:

Operating System

Windows® 10 64-bit latest update

Processor

Intel® Core™ i5-2500K or AMD Ryzen™ R5 1600X Processor

Video

NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 970 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon™ R9 390 / AMD Radeon™ RX 580 – DirectX 12.0 compatible system

Memory

12 GB RAM

Storage

175 GB available hard drive space

Internet

Broadband Internet connection

What’s interesting here is the 175GB of disk space needed by the game, which is a bit too much People on the Modern Warfare subreddit are even asking if this is a typo, or the game really is just this big (or whether it wasn’t compressed efficiently). Of course, there’s the inevitable day one update as well, which has become standard now for most AAA games to have at launch.

Those who are thinking of getting the game, best prepare your ‘net, and be ready to pre-load since it will take a while.

In other Modern Warfare news, go check out the new Spec Ops trailer that got released yesterday; we also posted a ton of info about the mode as well. For those looking forward to multiplayer, Infinity Ward has spoken out on the game’s microtransactions system and claims it will offer a “direct path” for players to earn content.

Apex Legends Update 1.21 Rolled Out and Here’s What’s in It

Respawn Entertainment has sprung a new Apex Legends update today, and it seems this one wasn’t announced in advance, which means there’s really no new content players should be looking forward to in it. Apex Legends update 1.21 is out on PS4 and Xbox One, and is at 1GB.

Checking the Apex Legends subreddit, users have commented that it’s for the Loot Room keys, so players can now shoot the flying bots for a chance to get a key to unlock one of the vault rooms. Note that Reddit user ArkhamsNextTopInmate commented that the vault door had a timer counting down to this exact update release time, and with people finding keys, well, put two and two together.

Aside from that, Respawn Entertainment has not made any official announcements regarding it. Once we do get official info (which might be unlikely), we’ll update the post.

Of course, there is the chance that this patch also includes data for the upcoming Apex Legends Halloween event called Fight or Fright. If this is indeed it, expect stuff to be datamined soon.

If you haven’t done so already, make sure to read up on the latest patch notes that affected gameplay, weapon balance here. We also posted the new map overview of Season 3 as well.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Spec Ops Details – Roles, Operations & More Revealed

Earlier today, Activision dropped the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Spec Ops trailer that showed us some of the stuff we should expect in the mode. However, that’s not all we’re getting today, as a trove of Modern Warfare Spec Ops details have been revealed as well.

In Spec Ops, there are Roles (read: classes), cross-progression rewards, and lots more!

Operations: As you infil into one of the many war-torn zones within Special Ops, you and your team have full latitude on how to accomplish your Operations. This Special Ops game mode is a 4 player matchmade activity centered around interconnected experiences that take the form of objectives, each culminating in the removal or destruction of a key logistical aspect of the Al-Qatala army.

At launch, there will be four Operations available with more scheduled to drop throughout the post-launch Seasons.

Missions: Complementing the multi-stage Operations, and also available across all platforms, are additional Missions, which can be played solo or with up to four players. Whereas Operations give you the widest breadth of strategic and tactical choice, Missions are a more curated experience where your proficiency with specific weapons, killstreaks, and other tools will be tested. These Missions are extremely replayable, and you’re able to achieve a 1, 2, or 3-star ranking based on your performance. Naturally, there will be an “Infinity Ward time” that you can attempt to beat!

Given how Survival mode has caused quite a stir since it’s exclusive to the PS4 for a year, Infinity Ward has clarified that all Operations and Missions will be available across all platforms at launch, and through the post-launch Seasons.

Mode Cross-Progression Rewards: As you complete any of the Special Ops content, expect to receive impressive rewards for your combat expertise. Examples include additional unlockable items and equipment that can be utilized in both Multiplayer and Special Ops Modes.

Now you have even more incentive to test Spec Ops out since it’ll be available in multiplayer, too.

An Uneasy Alliance: The Armistice Fireteam: As these Operations involve a temporary alliance between Coalition and Allegiance forces, you’re free to pick any Operator you wish. Old differences are set aside. For now!

Cross-Mode Loadouts: Next you can bring your preferred Loadouts, including your preferred Primary and Secondary Weapons, Perks, and Tactical and Lethal Equipment so you’re comfortable in this new combat zone. Got a favored Sniper Rifle or Shotgun that you’ve meticulously crafted, and tailored to your playstyle? Bring it along!

Know Your Roles: Specific to Special Ops are “Roles”: Prior to dropping into play, you’re able to pick from Assault, Recon, Engineer, Demolition, Medic, and Heavy. Each role comes equipped with a Field Upgrade and a class-specific perk. Pick the Role that best suits and reinforces your style of play.

Killstreaks: Prior to beginning an Operation, you’re able to pick three types of Munitions that offer a similar effect to Killstreaks in Multiplayer Mode. Those Munition boxes aren’t part of your equipment but are rather located in a random location across the map; it’s up to you to find and utilize them, whether you’ve chosen (for example) a Precision Airstrike or a Gunship to aid you.

As you can see, Spec Ops is a full-fledged mode that seems to cater to players that are more team-oriented. Will this replace Treyarch’s Zombies mode as the co-op mode of choice in future Call of Duty games?

Will you be diving into Spec Ops come October 25 or it’s strictly multiplayer and the campaign for you? Speaking of, go check out the launch trailer that showcases what to expect in the campaign.

Latest PS5 News Mention New 100GB Discs, USB Type C Confirmed & More

With today’s big PS5 release window news out of the way, it looks like we still have a lot of news regarding Sony’s upcoming console to wade through, as the latest PS5 news has made its way courtesy of WIRED’s feature on the console.

PlayStation 5

End of 2020 release window
AMD Ryzen CPU
AMD Navi GPU
No HDD, but with an SSD
Ray tracing directly on sound and graphics hardware
100GB optical disks (probably BD)
4K BD Player
Change in game installation
New interface, integrated with games and friends activities
DualShock 5 will have adaptive triggers, where the required pressure changes according to the game.
Better “vibration” on buttons and speaker on control for better effects
Gran Turismo Sport has been ported to the PS5
Charging with USB Type C, heavier than DS4 (but lighter than Xbox One) and larger battery.

In addition to that, video game insider Nibel has made a summary of sorts regarding the feature which you can check out below.

– Official name is PlayStation 5
– Ray tracing support is hardware based
– New SSD will help boot times, loading times and streaming
– Controller has now adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, new speakers, USB Type-C
– PlayStation 5 devkit is real and that developers already have access to both the devkit and the new controller
– better DS5 battery
– heavier than DualShock 4, but lighter than a XBO controller with batteries in it
– haptic feedback could have been included in the PS4 Pro but they decided against it
– Wired also seems to speculate that game installs will be more modular and that you can choose which parts to install/uninstall (SP/MP/both) They also mention a “completey revamped user interface” that allows you to join multiplayer activities instantly from the OS for example

Let’s hope we get the proper price point and hardware look soon too.

Destiny 2 Update Today – Here’s What Got Fixed in Hotfix 2.6.0.3 and Includes Changes Not Mentioned in Changelog

With today’s Destiny 2 maintenance hitting an issue that thankfully was resolved fast, some might not know that there was also a Destiny 2 update today. Note that this is a hotfix via server-side, which means players won’t get a prompt to download a patch.

Destiny 2 update today hotfix 2.6.0.3 changelog (via Bungie):

GENERAL

  • Fixed an issue where claiming a Seasonal Artifact during a locked loadout activity could block access to the Artifact

While that’s the only thing in Bungie’s official patch notes for the Destiny 2 update today, there’s also another big change that snuck its way in but this one is for the PvP portion. Long story short, the hotfix also reduced the amount of Heavy ammo in Control, Clash and Supremacy.

Here’s Bungie’s take on it (via Bungie forums):

Control will now have heavy ammo spawn in at 45 seconds and then every 120 seconds. It was spawning in at 45 seconds and then every 60 seconds.

Clash and Supremacy will now have heavy ammo spawn in at 60 seconds and then every 120 seconds. It was spawning in at 15 seconds and then every 60 seconds.

We don’t have server-side settings to change up the new 3v3 Survival mode but do plan to make the following changes in an update later this month.

Survival will soon have heavy ammo spawn in at 60 seconds and then again 60 seconds later just as the tiebreaker objective spawns. It is currently spawning in at 30 seconds and then every 60 seconds. The amount of heavy ammo granted will be reduced to match the amounts in Elimination and the 6v6 modes. We saw a lot of feedback about making heavy one round or being removed but wanted to make sure there was still an incentive for players to maintain map control and not camp at the edge of the map once they have a life advantage. We will continue to monitor feedback on these changes.

Make sure to check out this week’s Destiny 2 Weekly Reset list of rewards and challenges.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Spec Ops Trailer Shows Teamwork and a Bit of Gameplay

Modern Warfare Microtransactions System to Be a “Direct Path to Content for Players” Says Infinity Ward

While we’ve seen rumors crop up regarding the inevitable Call of Duty: Modern Warfare microtransactions system, Infinity Ward, for the first time, touched upon it, and based on face value, it seems they’re trying to do the right thing here.

Over on the Modern Warfare subreddit, Infinity Ward Art Director Joel Emslie responded to a user, and said that they are making the Modern Warfare microtransactions different from Black Ops 4’s, and that they’re making it in a way so that it’s a “direct path to content for players.”

I appreciate the gesture and you and IW immensely. You can tell the game has a lot of hard work going into it. We just want clear answers on the MTX system specifically because BO4’s MTX system existed purely to wring the consumer out of money, and we’d hate to see that happen to MW. It isn’t your choice though, and only Activi$ion’s, but a little clarity would be nice.

Joel Emslie (IW): Thank you for the kind words about the effort we put into the game and I’m sorry for such a delayed response. What I can say is that we are focused on making a different system for Modern Warfare, one with a direct path to content for players.

While Emslie didn’t go into specifics, this is definitely good news. Does this mean weapons won’t be in Supply Drops? Maybe not, but if Infinity Ward stick to their guns, maybe it’s done in a way like in Call of Duty: WWII, where players can take on contracts with the weapon itself being the reward upon completion.

Speaking of Modern Warfare microtransactions, a rumor has surfaced stating that the MTX system will be “decent” at launch, but will “get nasty” over time.

In terms of microtransactions, what do you hope to see and not see in Modern Warfare? Share your thoughts below in the comments.

DOOM Eternal New Release Date Announced, Delay Due to Polish

Those looking forward to slaying some new demons in DOOM Eternal, that’s going to have to wait a few more months, as Bethesda has announced that DOOM Eternal has been delayed to 2020! The DOOM Eternal new release date is set for March 20, 2020 (nice ring to it, no?) instead of November 22, 2019.

In the press release sent out, Bethesda mentions that to “live up” to their standards of “speed and polish,” they’ve made the decision to extend (read: delay) the launch of DOOM Eternal a few months.

In addition to the DOOM Eternal new release date, a couple of other things were included in the same press release.

  • Invasion Mode, which will allow you to enter another player’s game as a playable demon, will release as a free update shortly after launch.
  • DOOM Eternal for Nintendo Switch will release after the other platforms. We will announce that date in the future.
  • DOOM 64 will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in addition to Nintendo Switch. We are adding DOOM 64 as a pre-order bonus for DOOM Eternal on all platforms so you’ll be able to download and play this classic game, for free, just for pre-ordering DOOM Eternal. DOOM 64 will be released on March 20, 2020 on all platforms.

Check out the latest DOOM Eternal gameplay video that shows us an overview of Battlemode.

PS5 Release Date Set for “Holiday 2020,” Haptic Feedback & Adaptive Triggers Part of New Controller

To the surprise of possibly no one, Sony has today confirmed the PS5 release date as set for “Holiday 2020,” which is what everyone is expecting it to be. This means that by this time next year, we could possibly be on next-gen! Exciting!

Also confirmed today and to no one’s surprise, the next-gen PlayStation is indeed called the PlayStation 5 — as if Sony is suddenly going to abandon its decades-old brand, no? What’s new is, Sony has confirmed that we’ll have a new controller for the PS5, and it’ll feature haptic feedback, and adaptive triggers (nope, not extra bumper triggers).

Here’s Sony’s explanation of the two tech included in the PS5 controller that may or may not be called the DualShock 5:

Hapctic Feedback: First, we’re adopting haptic feedback to replace the “rumble” technology found in controllers since the 5th generation of consoles. With haptics, you truly feel a broader range of feedback, so crashing into a wall in a race car feels much different than making a tackle on the football field. You can even get a sense for a variety of textures when running through fields of grass or plodding through mud.

Adaptive Triggers: The second innovation is something we call adaptive triggers, which have been incorporated into the trigger buttons (L2/R2). Developers can program the resistance of the triggers so that you feel the tactile sensation of drawing a bow and arrow or accelerating an off-road vehicle through rocky terrain. In combination with the haptics, this can produce a powerful experience that better simulates various actions. Game creators have started to receive early versions of the new controller, and we can’t wait to see where their imagination goes with these new features at their disposal.

Hopefully, one of these new features are a standard back buttons that are mostly used for shooters. Then again, that might put companies like SCUF out of business, so Sony has to consider that too.

In other PlayStation news, Sony has rolled out the 7.00 firmware update today. However, it also pulled Facebook support for the PS4 earlier this week, which means the PS5 might not include it as well.

Rumor: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Hardcore Modes & Post-Launch Modes Leaked, Hardpoint Coming After Launch

While datamined info has seemingly given us a trove of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game modes that are in the game files, it seems some fan-favorite ones are coming post-launch if rumors are to be believed.

Over on Twitter, reliable Modern Warfare leaker TheGamingRevolution has outed some of the Modern Warfare hardcore modes, and post-launch game modes, and it includes fan-fave Hardpoint!

https://twitter.com/TheGamingRevoYT/status/1181043008747311105

Here’s the list of Modern Warfare hardcore modes that will be available:

https://twitter.com/TheGamingRevoYT/status/1181041788464832519

Search and Rescue (might be removed altogether)
One in the chamber
Infected
Hardpoint
Drop Zone
Defender
Demolition
Invasion (with hardcore – might be removed)
Gun Game
Reinforce
Team Juggernaut

Team Deathmatch
Search and Destroy
Kill Confirmed
Free For All
Arms Race (Co-Op)
Cyber Attack
Domination
Headquarters

In addition to that, he also mentions that there are “way more” modes that are being worked on, though not all of them will see the light of day.

https://twitter.com/TheGamingRevoYT/status/1181043010219515904

Same as before, these are only rumors and have NOT been confirmed by Activision or Infinity Ward. While he’s been reliable in his leaks so far, there’s still the chance he was given false info and whatnot.

In other Modern Warfare news, don’t forget to check the launch trailer that showcases the game’s campaign.

Apex Legends Halloween Event Called “Fight or Fright” Announced

While we just got Season 3 of Apex Legends, Respawn Entertainment isn’t stopping there. Announced today is the Apex Legends Halloween event called “Fight or Fright.” Set to launch this October 15, and running until November 5, a host of new content is set to be unleashed.

Here’s a summary of what to expect:

  • Limited Time Mode: Shadowfall – Experience a warped, dark version of the Apex games hosted by a mysterious figure known as Revenant. Sooner or later, players will end up joining Revenant’s powerful “Shadow Squad” without weapons or legend abilities — but with increased movement and jump speed.

  • Themed Content – Complete a variety of challenges to earn exclusive skins, badges and a music pack.

  • Limited Premium Cosmetics – Unlock a set of 24 themes, limited-time cosmetics; players can obtain these new in-game cosmetics through direct purchase for Apex Coins, direct unlock with Crafting Metals or random unlock with Event Apex Packs.

  • Double XP Weekend – Earn double XP for Top 5 finishes and wins. This bonus will affect both Account Level and Battle Pass progression.

The official EA site also has the info, and here’s the TL;DR version:

TL;DR – What’s in the Event & Key Changes to the Event Structure:

  •  Limited Time Mode – Shadowfall
    • Featuring a nighttime version of Kings Canyon

  • 24 Event Limited premium cosmetics that players can now unlock in one of three ways:
    • Direct purchase for Apex Coins
    • Direct unlock with Crafting Metals
    • Random unlock with Event Apex Packs
      •  Additionally, the Event Currency in these packs has been replaced with non-event loot drops, yielding more loot overall
  • Lifeline Heirloom Set Preview
    • Unlock all 24 Fight or Fright pack cosmetics during the event and unlock the Lifeline Heirloom set for free
  • Double XP for Top 5 & Wins Weekend

What’s interesting here is, players will be able to earn the Lifeline Heirloom set for free! This can be done by unlocking all 24 Fight or Fright Collection Pack Items. If you didn’t manage to unlock it during the event, you’ll be able to as it will be available as a bonus in Apex Packs post-event.

Marvel’s Avengers Ms. Marvel Costume Inspired From Cultural Heritage, Here’s a Full Look

In case you didn’t know, Crystal Dynamics announced (officially) that Kamala Khan — or also known as Ms. Marvel (not to be confused with Captain Marvel) — will be in Marvel’s Avengers, and did so with a fantastic new trailer.

Over on Twitter, the official Marvel’s Avengers game account tweeted out a few key details regarding Ms. Marvel’s costume, and even gave us a full-body look at it.

Crystal Dynamics has worked with their artists and even Sana Amanat who co-created Ms. Marvel in designing her costume for the game. More details can be read about it below, such as how Tony Stark is involved (because of course he is), and how the costume was inspired by Khan’s culture (she’s Pakistani but from New Jersey).

We wanted Kamala to have a strong origin arc from fan girl to Super Hero, as a representation of the player’s journey – the player’s perspective is aligned with Kamala’s.” – @CrystalDynamics Game Director @ToreBlystad

“We took the core inspiration from the iconic Ms. Marvel costume from the comic, especially the Ms. Marvel #2 cover. But since our Kamala has to stand side-by-side with the other Avengers, she gets some help from Tony Stark who designs and makes her outfit.”

“The materials are partly inspired by her cultural heritage and modern tactical materials and cuts.”
The bracelet is the only element that is shared across all of Ms. Marvel’s outfits. It is a family heirloom that she got from her grandmother, and she uses it to keep her most precious possessions safe when on the job.
Let’s hope there are more heroes set to be revealed soon. In the meantime, go read up on some of the new stuff regarding Marvel’s Avengers such as its game length, and how it won’t feature local co-op.

Apex Legends Down on PC and Consoles, EA Investigating (Update)

Update:

The official EA Help account has announced that they are seeing improvements across services, and the team is still working to restore everything back to normal. We’ll post an update again once we have them.

Original Story:

In case you’re logging in to Apex Legends and want to play some Season 3 goodness, you can’t, or rather, you’ll have a hard time as it’s Apex Legends down worldwide and yes, this affects consoles and PC.

The official EA Help account has acknowledged that all EA titles are experiencing issues, which we’re sure Battlefield 5 is currently suffering from.

The last update from EA said that they are still working on bringing everything back to normal, and once they do, we’ll update the post.

Overall, it seems the total Apex Legends down time has been two hours and counting. While some might be able to connect, it’s with horrendous lag, and no one wants to experience that, right?

The official Apex Legends subreddit have even made a thread about it as well, which you might want to check out too.

We tested it now on PC, and yep, still can’t connect. Once we have more news to share, we’ll update the post.

Don’t forget to read up on all the Season 3 changes here, or check out the new map to know if you’ve seen everything.

Battlefield 5 Down for Most People Worldwide, EA Investigating (Update)

Update:

The official EA Help account has announced that they are seeing improvements across services, and the team is still working to restore everything back to normal. We’ll post an update again once we have them.

Original Story:

If you’re trying to log in to Battlefield 5 but noticed that Battlefield 5 down time is happening, or you simply can’t connect, don’t fret! It’s not you, it’s EA’s servers. Over on Twitter, the official EA Help account announced that connectivity problems are plaguing EA’s games, and we’ll get an update once there’s progress.

I can confirm first-hand that servers are either not connecting, or are having super laggy connections, which is par for the course when a game is having issues with its connectivity. Once servers are back up, we’ll let our readers know.

While you’re waiting, you might want to take part in DICE’s new official Battlefield 5 survey. If you’re not interested in that, go check out what’s in store for this October’s Battlefest.
