Code Vein Update 1.03 Now Live (Update)

If you’re playing Shift and Bandai Namco Studios’ vampire action game Code Vein, you might have noticed a super small patch worm its way out. Code Vein update 1.03 is now out, and is just at 150MB. According to Bandai Namco, it fixes a number of bugs and issues, and that’s it.

Note: Bandai Namco has now official revealed the list of changes in the Code Vein update 1.03 patch notes:

  • Fixed multiplayer immediately after defeating the last boss in Cathedral of the Sacred Blood causing player character unable to re-enter the boss area to progress the story.

*If you’ve already encountered this issue, you can now re-enter the boss area to progress.

  • Fixed levers that sometimes doesn’t trigger the doors or can’t be interacted with using the right key.

*If you’ve already encountered this issue, you can now interact with the lever again.

For Steam:

  • Fixed multiplayer immediately after defeating the last boss in Cathedral of the Sacred Blood causing player character unable to re-enter the boss area to progress the story.

*If you’ve already encountered this issue, you can now re-enter the boss area to progress.

  • Fixed levers that sometimes doesn’t trigger the doors or can’t be interacted with using the right key.

*If you’ve already encountered this issue, you can now interact with the lever again.

  • Fixed character sliding without input above 60FPS.

No other details has been shared so far. But once they do, we’ll be sure to update the post. If you haven’t picked it up yet, Code Vein is at a decent 70 on Metacritic currently, and it’s about a post-apocalyptic dystopian setting with a vampire theme, played a from a third-person perspective inspired by the Dark Souls series. If you’ve played the God Eater franchise, it should be familiar to you given Shift also developed it.

We posted a bunch of gameplay clips of it right here.

Plans Show Bungie New Game Outside of Destiny by 2025

In a recent interview, CEO of Bungie, Pete Parsons, explained that Bungie is seeking to become one of the best entertainment companies in the entire world by the year 2025. As part of this plan, the studio will need to release at least one game outside fo the Destiny franchise by this time. A Bungie new game that isn’t Destiny will be a huge change considering the studio has already been working on the franchise for the last five years.

Destiny 2 Shadowkeep will be the first major expansion to Destiny 2, and the Destiny franchise as a whole, without Activision as a publisher. Earlier this year Bungie split with the publisher and became an independent studio. As a result they say they’ve been able to make a lot of creative decisions that wouldn’t necessarily have been approved whilst in partnership with Activision. However, the larger implications of this split with Shadowkeep’s launch relate to Bungie’s ability to market and distribute Shadowkeep. This expansion is mainly being sold through digital storefronts, with a collector’s edition available to fans as the only physical edition, which is now sold out.

Part of Bungie’s goal of becoming one of the best entertainment companies in the world by 2025 will be achieved with Destiny, according to Parsons. He explained in an interview with IGN that they need to work on making Destiny the game they envision it to be, and transform it within the market whilst also building upon it with players. Parsons added that in addition to Destiny, Bungie will need to release more franchises, whilst building their publishing group.

After they received some outside investment from Chinese game company NetEase, Bungie announced their interest in developing new franchises, but nothing more has been said on the mater until now. Parsons described how by 2025 Bungie wants to have Destiny as a franchise where people can go for a great game and place to make friends, but they also want other franchises that offer something different to consumers.

Before Destiny, Bungie created Halo, a best selling franchise that’s exclusive to Xbox and PC. The influence of Halo in the Destiny franchise is clear to see, but whether Bungie stick with the sci-fi shooter genre, or move into new areas entirely, only time will tell.

Destiny 2 Shadowkeep launches today alongside Destiny 2 New Light. Check out all the content you get for free in Destiny 2 New Light here.

Destiny 2 Down for Emergency Maintenance, Sign-In Errors Acknowledged

With Destiny 2 now hitting the free-to-play sphere, it seems players are jumping in droves and it’s hammering the servers hard. Over on Twitter, the official Bungie support account announced the Destiny 2 sign-in errors, and how the studio triggered Destiny 2 down time for emergency maintenance.

We are investigating Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 players encountering sign-on errors.

We are continuing to investigate the issues that are preventing players from signing in. Please stay tuned for updates.

The latest update from Bungie is how the Destiny 2 down time for servers is due to emergency maintenance given that servers are at capacity.

Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 are being taken offline for emergency maintenance. Please standby for updates.

While you’re waiting for the Destiny 2 servers to go back up, check out the full patch notes for the big update that brought in the Shadowkeep content and gameplay changes.

Given how the Destiny franchise is only behind the Call of Duty franchise in terms of first-person dollar sales in the US, people shouldn’t be that surprised that there’s this many people trying to play.

Battlefield 5 Battlefest 2019 Info and Schedule of Events Revealed

It’s October, and for Battlefield players, that means it’s Battlefest time! For the Battlefield 5 Battlefest 2019 info and schedule, head on below. The events will run all throughout October, so there’s a lot in store for Battlefield 5 players.

Week 1 – Tunnel Vision

The close-quarter train tunnels of the anticipated Operation Underground map take center stage this week. As for rewards, complete the Weekly Challenge to get the Madsen MG and the Battered weapon skin of the Epic rarity level.

Week 2 – In a Hurry

The fan-favorite Rush mode will be playable for a limited time starting on Battlefest’s second week. Try it out on maps like Operation Underground and more. If you want to spruce up your Sturmgeschütz IV tank, make sure to unlock the stunning Captain Hadlow vehicle skin by nailing the Week 2 challenge.

Week 3 – Side by Side

The Trench Carbine is your reward for succeeding in Week 3’s challenge. Built as a prototype to fulfill a request from the German army, this weapon’s design was based on other popular pistols used during the Great War. Mode-wise, this week will focus on infantry-focused Conquest. Play it on tight maps like Operation Underground, Rotterdam, and more.

Week 4 – Fight as One

Ready to join up with the rest of the Battlefield V community in a grand challenge? In the first Battlefield V community mission; we want you to score 100,000,000 kills or assists. Yep, that’s eight zeros. A unique and handy gadget will be yours if the mission is completed: the Fliegerfaust – a prototype man-portable anti-aircraft launcher. This beauty can fire two salvos of unguided rockets to dispose of enemy planes.

Note that the stuff mentioned above are on top of the usual weekly rewards. In case you didn’t see it, check out the Operation Underground gameplay trailer, and there’s also today’s patch too.

Apex Legends update 1.20 patch notes:

APEX LEGENDS SEASON 3: MELTDOWN PATCH NOTES

Welcome to Season 3: Meltdown! There’s a couple of new videos posted, along with site updates. Check out all patch notes from Respawn below!

A NEW LEGEND APPEARS: CRYPTO

Cool, calm, and collected, Crypto deploys a specialized surveillance drone to stay in the fight and out of the spotlight.

Crypto

CRYPTO’S ABILITIES

Crypto’s Abilities

Passive: NEUROLINK Crypto and his teammates see what his Surveillance Drone detects up to a 30m distance.

Tactical: SURVEILLANCE DRONE Deploy an aerial camera drone. 40 second cooldown if destroyed.

Ultimate: DRONE EMP Charge up an EMP from your drone. The blast deals 50 shield damage, slows players, and destroys traps.

NEW MAP: WORLD’S EDGE

World’s Edge

After multiple suspicious setbacks during the reconstruction of Kings Canyon, the Syndicate has decided to move the Games to the cliffside mining city known as World’s Edge on nearby Talos. Legends can explore towering skyscrapers “frozen” by a chemical explosion, then catch a train to ice-covered hills, while avoiding deadly pits of molten lava if they want to be crowned Champion in this new arena.

WHERE IS KINGS CANYON?

For the start of Season 3 World’s Edge will be the only playable map across both regular and ranked matches. As the season progresses we’ll be looking at data, sentiment, and feedback to help us determine the best way to bring Kings Canyon back into the mix.

NEW WEAPON: CHARGE RIFLE

Charge Rifle

This energy rifle/sniper takes a second to warm up and will do minor damage to players if you keep a bead on them before delivering a mighty blow to whomever is on the receiving end of it. The Charge Rifle is part of the standard loot pool and can be found all over the map.

    • No longer deploys if you are downed before placing it.

Pathfinder

  • Grapple
    • Reduced the grapple projectile velocity by 33%, meaning it takes a fraction of a second longer to connect the grapple to the wall. The behavior once you are connected remains the same.
  • Zipline
    • Increased cooldown
      • 90 seconds -> 120 seconds.

WEAPON AND LOOT META

Hop-ups

*[*Designer Notes: We think the number of hop-up types in the game is about as high as we want to go right now when we consider loot dilution and the likelihood of finding a desired hop-up. Going forward, we intend to rotate hop-ups each season — some may be removed from the loot pool to make room for new or returning ones. Below are the changes we’ll be making to hop-ups for Season 3.]

  • REMOVED: Disruptor Rounds
  • REMOVED: Skullpiercer Rifling
    • The base headshot damage multipliers of the DMR and Wingman have been increased slightly.
      • Wingman: Was 2.0 base / 2.25 with Skullpiercer. Is now 2.15 base.
      • DMR: Was 2.0 base / 2.5 with Skullpiercer. Is now 2.15 base.
  • NEW HOP-UP: Anvil Receiver
    • Attaches to: Flatline and R-301.
    • Rarity: level 4 (gold).
    • This hop-up empowers semi-auto mode; it offers highly increased damage, but at the cost of reduced rate of fire and double ammo per shot.
  • NEW HOP-UP: Double Tap Trigger
    • Attaches to: G7 Scout and EVA-8 Auto.
    • Rarity: level 3 (purple).
    • This hop-up makes each trigger pull fire a quick two round burst.

Consumables

  • Ultimate Accelerants
    • Ultimate charge restored increased
      • 20% -> 35%.
    • Reduced the amount in the world by around 40%.

GOLD GEAR CHANGES

  • Gold Backpack
    • The gold backpack has a new perk, “Guardian Angel”. With Guardian Angel, you will revive downed teammates with bonus health and shields (if they have armor).
  • Gold Armor
    • The gold armor will now have “Fast Use” (consumable items take half as long to use), which was previously on the gold backpack. Now, you will be able to tell when an opponent has the ability to heal faster by seeing the gold armor damage numbers.

WEAPONS

*[*Designer Notes: For Season 3 weapon changes, our goals were to encourage and improve longer range gunfights and reduce power on some of the weapons that have been dominating lately. We will of course be closely watching data and player feedback on these during the season.]

  • R-99
    • Base mag size reduction
      • Before: 18/22/26/30
      • After: 18/20/23/27
    • Added some recoil randomness to patterns.
  • PDW Prowler
    • Added some slight recoil randomness while maintaining the same pattern when fired in full-auto mode.
  • Longbow DMR
    • Reduced rate of fire
      • 1.6 -> 1.3
    • Reduced leg damage multiplier
      • 0.9 -> 0.8
  • G7 Scout
    • Increased base damage
      • 30 -> 34
  • Hemlok
    • Increased base damage
      • 18 -> 22
    • Slight decrease to rate of fire to both fire modes.
  • Mozambique
    • Decreased pattern spread
    • Mozambique will now reset from recoil faster, which should make it easier to track targets and see where shots land.
  • L-STAR
    • Substantial reduction to horizontal recoil.
    • Now comes equipped with 1x Digital Threat optic.
    • Reduced damage
      • 21 -> 19

NEW KITTED GOLD WEAPONS

We’ve swapped out the previous set of Gold Weapons with some fresh new ones for Season 3. Keep an eye out for these fully kitted beasts that all include tier 3 versions of all compatible attachments, hop-up, and the following optics:

  • Flatline
    • Includes 1x-2x optics
  • EVA-8
    • Includes 1x threat scope
  • TripleTake
    • 4x-10x Threat scope
  • G7 Scout
    • 2x-4x optics

    • 4x-10x threat scope

QUALITY OF LIFE

  • Added a “random” option for customizing your unlocked loadscreens.
  • Expanded the Ping Wheel so that you can now equip your unlocked Intro and Kill quips.
    • Equip up to 8 intro or kill quips in the lobby
    • Nearby enemies can hear quips when activated
    • Press Y while ping wheel is up to access (controller) or F1 (default keyboard binding — you may need to set this manually as it won’t auto-bind).
    • “Celebrate” quickchat is now the 1st option in the quip wheel (Previously down on dpad).
  • New Legend battle chatter – Legends now have voice lines that will call out when your squad is being third-partied. This is triggered if you take damage when recently damaged by another living squad
  • You can now equip multiple skydive emotes (if you have multiple available on a character) – Hold A while skydiving to open the menu to select the skydive emote you want to use.
  • Daily challenges should only give you, at most, 1 challenge for a Legend you don’t own.
  • No dupe character daily challenges (e.g. you should never get 2 Gibraltar dailies in the same day).
  • Fixes for slowdown/performance drops at the start of a match.
  • Mirage – decoys will now go where directed when deploying them during the drop if Mirage isn’t the Jumpmaster.
  • Lifeline – D.O.C. Healing Drone will no longer float away after being deployed on Supply Ships
  • Fixed issue where Legends could show up as locked instead of selected when joining a match late.
  • Small improvements across UI to make fonts and other elements more readable.
  • When swapping weapons with one on the ground, attachments will now attempt to transfer to your stowed weapon in addition to the weapon you are about to pick up.

BUG FIXES

  • Octane – fixed a bug where sometimes mantling while using a tactical stopped players from being able to perform any other actions until the tactical is finished.
  • Wattson – fixed bug where sometimes the visual FX from her fences would not show up after being deployed.
  • Pathfinder – Fixed a bug with Insider Knowledge passive where Survey Beacon locations would disappear from the full map after activating them.
  • Fixed bug where players could sometimes receive additional Battle Pass rewards by leveling up two games in a row.
  • Fixed an exploit that allowed players to spam fire with the Peacekeeper.
  • Fixed bug where looting Lifeline’s Care Packages would not count towards the “Loot X amount of Care Packages” in the Battle Pass challenges.
  • Fixed a bug where sometimes the smoke visual FX from Gibraltar, Bangalore, and Caustic Ultimates would show up on scopes when swapping weapons rapidly.
  • PC – Fixed bug where model settings would be forced to “high” regardless of what setting was selected.
  • Fixed a bug where players could sometimes skip the landing animation after a long fall.
  • Fixed bug where sometimes map fog visual FX would disappear while looting a deathbox.
  • Rebalanced audio to address issues with footsteps, ziplines, and jump jets.

Ranked League Series 2

You can check out the full details for Series 2 and learnings we got from Series 1 in our Ranked Blog here. Some highlights of the changes we’re making below.

  • Rewards for your placement in Ranked Leagues Series 1 will be available to you after downloading the update for Season 3.
  • We’ve adjusted the scoring for Series 2 that allows for more granularity for future improvements.
  • At the launch of Series 2 on 10/1 we’ll be doing a soft reset on everyone Ranked Position from Series 1. The reset will be 1.5 tiers. That means if you ended Series 1 in Gold II, you’ll be reset to Silver IV. Players in Platinum IV will be reset to Silver II, and Apex Predators will be reset to Platinum II.
  • Assists have been added to your overall score.
  • New HUD elements have been added to help players keep track of their in-match RP gains or losses.
  • Leaver Penalty: Players who abandon their teammates will be hit with a matchmaking penalty in both regular and Ranked matches. Penalties will result in a player being barred from joining a match for escalating amounts of time based on how often they have abandoned in Ranked. An abandon is defined as leaving the game before the match is over for you; this includes leaving during character select, leaving while you are alive, and leaving when you are dead but can still be respawned by teammates. Penalty times start out at five minutes, and repeat abandons will increase that time up to a week

Stay tuned for the inevitable datamining leaked info we’re sure to get in the coming days and weeks.

Destiny 2 Update 1.41 Patch Notes – Here Are the Changes Included in Patch 2.6.0.1

While the actual Destiny 2 update file was rolled out yesterday, the patch notes just became available today! Called the Destiny 2 update 1.41 patch notes (patch version 2.6.0.1 in Bungie’s terms), it adds the Shadowkeep and New Light changes, and lots more.

Destiny 2 update 1.41 patch notes (version 2.6.0.1):

SYSTEMS

COMBAT SYSTEMS

Finishers
  • Finisher System added. Press the finisher button to finish critically wounded combatants.
PvE Damage Numbers Display
Goal: To provide players with useful and legible feedback for damage dealt to enemy combatants across many years of Power progression.
  • Displayed damage numbers for damage dealt to non-Guardian enemy combatants are crunched
  • Damage dealt is displayed using fewer digits to enhance readability of damage output
  • Occurrences of displayed damage getting capped at 999,999 should be significantly reduced or eliminated
  • The exponential curve used to calculate damage numbers for display is replaced with a new linear curve that is built to last for many years
  • As players grow in Power, displayed damage numbers increase at a much more measured pace than previously
  • This is a UI update only; player damage output, whether measured as hits to kill, time to kill, or DPS, remains unchanged by this update
PvE Difficulty Tuning
Goals: Widen the sweet spot where fighting higher-level combatants provides a fun, challenging, and rewarding combat experience for a more enjoyable Power climb. Also, allow players looking for even greater challenges to confront much higher-level enemies.
  • Combatants that are 10–40 levels higher take less time to kill and deal less damage
  • Higher-level combatants continue to increase in difficulty up to 100 Power levels above the player
  • When enemies are 100 Power levels or higher above the player, they are immune to damage
  • Nameplate icons on higher-level combatants have been updated to reflect these changes
  • These changes affect only higher-level combatants; the at-level or over-level experience remains unchanged

SANDBOX

ABILITIES

Buffs

Nightstalker Way of the Pathfinder (Bottom)
Goal: We want to lean into the fantasy of a speedy disruptor. Pathfinders need more tools to scout the battlefield and a skill based way to engage with that gameplay more often. We should reward this scouting and battlefield control gameplay, executed well, with more opportunities to do the same. At the same time shadow shot needed some quality of life improvements for long standing frustrations.
Vanish: Smoke bomb grants invisibility to allies
  • Gives 1 stack of Heart of the Pack (newly revamped) to all allies hit
  • Grants +34 to armor, recovery, and agility
  • Gives weapon reload speed and handling
      • Max 3 stacks
  • Increased invisibility duration from 7 > 8 seconds
Provision: Killing tethered enemies creates super orbs and increases agility, armor, and recovery for allies
  • New Perk (old perk benefits moved to be part of Mobius Quiver)
      • Damaging enemies with your grenades reduces the cooldown of your smoke bomb (6% per damage tick)
      • Making allies invis gives you grenade energy (17.5% per ally)
Moebius Quiver: Fire super multiple times and deals massive damage to tethered targets
  • Added the old Provision perk to naturally be part of Mobius Quiver
      • Killing tethered enemies creates super orbs and grants stacks of Heart of the Pack for allies
      • Expanded the range of Heart of the Pack from 20 > 30 meters.
Shadowshot Super (Top and Bottom path)
  • Damage increased from 150 > 250
      • One shot kill in PvP
  • Improved tether accuracy near obstacles
  • Suppress on hit is more consistent
Sentinel Code of the Protector (Top)
Goal: This path is the main support role for Titans and focuses heavily on melee kills while staying near allies. We want to focus more heavily on buffing allies so that players care about the timing of their buff usage. With a loop which allows players to get their melee energy back more quickly this will be a more engaging path to play. Additionally, Ward of Dawn is currently not up to snuff, and needs a buff that ties in to the fantasy of buffing allies.
Defensive Strike: Melee ability that creates an overshield for nearby allies
  • All kills while the overshield is active grant melee energy for the player with the shield (works for all allies you grant a shield to)
      • This is based upon enemy threat level from 5% (minors) to 25% (players and bosses)
Rallying Force: Melee kills heal nearby allies
  • Heal buffed from 10 health and 10 shields to 10 health and 20 shields (50% increase)
Ward of Dawn: Alternate super that creates a shield bubble
  • Increase ward health versus supers
  • Most supers will require the whole thing to be dumped on the ward to destroy it but will (usually) not kill the players inside
  • Ward grants weapons of light buff when passing through it (35% weapon damage for 15 seconds)
  • Grants an additional super orb (3)
  • Auto-generated orbs now grant the same amount of super energy as regular super orbs (previously the orbs gave less super energy on par with masterwork orbs)
Sentinel Code of the Aggressor (Bottom)
Shield Bash: Shoulder charge that disorients nearby enemies
  • Now suppresses the target hit and any enemy within 2 meters (have to be basically right next to them)
Voidwalker Attunement of Hunger (Bottom)
Vortex: Nova Bomb leaves behind a damaging AoE pool
  • Initial explosion damage increased 15%
  • Lingering damage increased 15%
Dawnblade Attunement of Grace
Well of Radiance: Alternate super that creates a healing/buffing field for allies
  • Grants an additional super orb (3)
      • Auto-generated orbs now grant the same amount of super energy as regular super orbs (previously the orbs gave less super energy on par with masterwork orbs)
Nerfs
Nightstalker Way of the Trapper (Top)
Shadowshot: Fires an arrow that damages enemies and debuffs enemies nearby
  • Damage sharing for the Nightstalker player specifically reduced from 100% to 50%
    • Now all allied players have 50% damage sharing on tether
Nightstalker Way of the Wraith (Middle)
Flawless Execution: Headshot kills while crouched grant invisibility and truesight
  • Truesight now lasts 3 seconds (down from 9)

Shattering Strike: After performing a Flawless Execution, your melee attacks have a longer lunge range and weaken enemies

  • Advanced warning: When we made the change to Flawless Execution this also unintentionally nerfed this ability to only last 3 seconds (it was directly tied to the truesight). We have prepared a fix for the 4.6.1 patch to restore the weaken and lunge range increase to last the entire 9 seconds regardless of truesight and invisibility status.
Instant Reloading
Goal: In the beginning, Lunafactions and Rally Barricade did exist, but they were clunky to use. They still had dramatic impact on gameplay even in that state, but eventually we decided to make their effects easier to handle. The problems they introduced always existed in the game, but over time these have become magnified due to new abilities, perks, and weapons introduced into the Destiny 2 sandbox. The impact of something that takes all reloading out of the equation means that other perks or effects like the Hunter’s Marksman Dodge or the Sealed Ahamkara’s Grasps can simply fall to the wayside – Even swords take a hit in comparison, being one of the few weapons that naturally never needs to reload.
Reloading is one of those mechanics that are simple, but have wide ranging consequences. Because the effect on gameplay of removing reloading is inversely proportional to the size of your weapon’s magazine and how slow your general reload animations are, weapons like Rocket Launchers and Shotguns can benefit greatly compared to other weapons. This, alongside the increase in general access to damage bonus effects like Well of Radiance left us with the decision to remove this effect from these two sources, as they were causing things to quickly snowball out of control.
Titan Rally Barricade
  • This ability now provides a large increase to reload speed for the duration of the effect
  • This ability no longer automatically reloads your weapons from reserves
Warlock Rift/Well of Radiance
  • Lunafaction Boots now provides a large increase to reload speed for the duration of Well of Radiance
  • This exotic no longer automatically reloads your weapons from reserves
Super Energy Regeneration
Goal: These changes will reduce the speed with which players are able to earn their super which supports difficulty and reduces the current ability to trivialize certain content through excessively chaining supers. Systemically, we want to reduce base sources of supers on a large macro scale without diminishing the feeling that your actions are gaining you a worthwhile energy boost. By reducing the speed at which you gain super we can make mods and perks feel more worthwhile. We still want it to feel like you can make meaningful progress not only through normal play but by augmenting super energy through teamwork, class choices, gear, and skillful play.
New Energy Granted by Super Orbs:
  • Super Orb: 7.143% (50% reduction)
  • Masterwork Orb: 2.5% (50% reduction)
  • Kills: (25% reduction)
    • Minor: 0.6%
    • Elite: 0.96%
    • Mini-boss: 1.8%
    • Boss: 3%
    • Player: 3%
  • Assists: (25% reduction)
    • Minor: 0.3%
    • Elite: 0.48%
    • Mini-boss: 0.9%
    • Boss: 1.5%
    • Player: 1.5%
Damage Multipliers
Goal: At Destiny 2 launch, damage buffs were fairly sparse – There was Empowering Rift for a small increase, and you could combine it with a weakening effect such as Hammer Strike, but very little else. As time has gone on, we introduced Well of Radiance, Weapons of Light, Guiding Flame, Frontal Assault, etc, and combining these effects has resulted in player damage output far beyond what was previously available. Even with just a small amount of them, a player can go from 1x damage to 3x and beyond, causing there to be an extremely large gap between standard player output and theoretical output.
By preventing the larger effects from stacking, we are able to keep each of them around without having to do something in response like raise boss health to compensate for these tactics, as well as create more of them. As an example, Lumina would not have been created in world where the damage bonus effect of Noble Rounds stacked with other damage effects, and these changes are simply an extension along those same lines.
While the weakening effects never stacked, we also took a look at them and adjusted their values as many of our more powerful units would simply evaporate when touched by one of them, but we compensated for that in other ways, such as either extending the duration of the effect or in the case of Shadowshot, making it affect power weapons.
Player Damage Buffs
  • Player Bonuses
    • Bonus damage effects that apply to all of a player’s weapons simultaneously no longer stack multiplicatively. The highest applicable bonus will be used instead
      • This does not affect single weapon buffs such as Rampage, Kill Clip, or exotic weapons that increase their own damage. These will still stack multiplicatively.
      • Buffs that provide bonus damage will still exist simultaneously on the player, so in the event that the one with the highest multiplier wears off the next highest will be used instead.
      • This change affects the following weapons/abilities (Empowering Rift, Frontal Assault, Guiding Flame, Sun Warrior, Inertia Override, Well of Radiance, Lumina/Noble Rounds, Weapons of Light)
  • Notable exceptions: Vengeance (One Eyed Mask)
  • Frontal Assault
    • Bonus damage is now +20% (Previously +25%)
  • Sun Warrior
    • Bonus damage is now +20% (Previously +25%)
  • Well of Radiance
    • Bonus damage is now +25% (Previously +35%)
  • Weapons of Light
    • Bonus damage is now +35% (Previously +25%)
Enemy Debuffs (Weakened)
  • Shadowshot
    • Incoming PvE damage is now +30% (Previously +35%)
    • Incoming PvP damage is now +50% (Previously +55%)
    • This effect no longer excludes power weapons
  • Tractor Cannon (Repulsor Force)
    • Incoming PvE damage is now +30% for all elements (Previously +33%/50% for Non-Void/Void damage respectively)
    • Incoming PvP damage is now +50% for all elements (Previously +33%/50% for Non-Void/Void damage respectively)
  • Hammer Strike
    • Incoming PvE damage is now +30% (Previously +50%)
    • Duration increased from 6 to 10 seconds in PvE
  • Shattering Strike
    • Incoming PvE damage is now +30% (Previously +50%)
    • Duration increased from 6 to 10 seconds in PvE
Reduced Super Damage Resistance
Goal: Since the launch of Destiny 2 we have slowly introduced buffs to supers, especially roaming supers. While we believe supers should be powerful they should not be mindless. We want supers to be more risky in both PvE and PvP. We want players to think about positioning and timing more. Not so long ago we experimented with Spectral Blades by lowering the damage resistance substantially. These changes were generally well received and improved the experience of the super for both the person running it and the person who was running from it. In PvE players shouldn’t feel like their super makes them invulnerable and casting one should call for situational strategic thinking. In PvP players need to feel like they can challenge a super and that with skillful play there’s a chance they can beat it.
  • Super Damage Resistance removed from masterwork armor
  • Inherent Super Damage Resistance lowered by category (see below)

Low- 54% → 49%

  • Nova Warp
  • Thunder Crash
  • Blade Barrage
  • Nova Bomb
  • Well of Radiance

Medium – 56% → 51%

  • Hammer of Sol
  • Daybreak

High – 60% → 53%

  • Fist of Havok
  • Burning Maul
  • Sentinel Shield
  • Arc Staff
  • Arc Lightning
  • Shadowshot

Other (unchanged)

  • Spectral Blades – 52% / 54.4%
  • Golden Gun – 0%
  • Chaos Reach – 40%

ABILITY AND ARMOR GENERAL FIXES

  • Fixed an issue where abilities that dealt lingering damage were dealing higher damage than intended at higher framerates
  • This includes abilities such as Nova Bomb, Vortex Grenades, Solar Grenades, Smoke Bombs, Fan of Knives, and Sun Spots
  • Fixed an issue where the Hunter’s Tempest Strike melee ability couldn’t be performed if the Sprint button/key was set to Hold
  • Fixed an issue where the increased sustain damage perk of the Stormtrance super would break if a player swapped their sub-class to Chaos Reach and then back to Stormtrance within an activity
  • Fixed an issue where the Liar’s Handshake perk Cross Counter was intermittently failing to activate and trigger healing
  • Sealed Ahamkara Grasps perk Nightmare Fuel will now correctly reload weapons when used in tandem with Knife Trick and the Tractor Cannon
  • A Titan’s Burning Maul line attack will no longer be blocked and detonate early if they have Telesto projectiles attached to them
  • Borealis and Hardlight now match the Prism modifier when changing elements on reload, rotating through Void > Arc > Solar
  • The Hunter’s Combination Blow ability buff will now correctly be removed when switching sub-classes while the buff is active
  • The Phoenix Protocol Hearth perk will no longer award bonus super energy on kills and assists to Warlocks inside a Well of Radiance who do not also have the Well of Radiance (Attunement of Grace) sub-class equipped
  • The Enhanced Momentum Transfer perk now displays the correct icon
  • The Mad Warden will no longer get frozen in time when destroyed by a Hunter’s Golden Gun
  • Fixed an issue where Warlocks couldn’t perform their Well of Radiance super during the reload animation for breach loaded Grenade Launchers
    • If interrupted, the reload animation will complete after the super is cast
  • Fixed an issue where allied Golden Gun projectiles weren’t going through Banner Shields
  • Fixed an issue where the Queen’s Wrath perk for the exotic Wish-Ender bow wasn’t correctly highlighting players if their shield was depleted
  • The Warlock’s Arc subclass ability ‘Pulsewave’ buff will no longer clear the Quickdraw perk bonus granted from a weapon upon its expiration
  • The Warlock’s ‘Alchemical Etchings’ perk buffs from Lunafaction Boots will now correctly be removed if/when their Well of Radiance is destroyed
  • Khepri’s Sting will no longer consume the owner’s melee ability energy charge when hit by a friendly Hunter’s smoke bomb

WEAPON CHANGES

  • Weapon mods are now treated as reusable unlocks instead of consumables. Any mods you have in your inventory will be converted to unlocks
      • This gives players the opportunity to play with different mods more frequently
      • If the only copy of a mod you have is already in a gun, you will need to reacquire one to unlock it
  • Minor enemies (Rank-and-File) no longer take more precision damage than other enemies
      • These enemies previously took twice as much damage to their precision hit locations than enemies of higher ranks
      • You will still deal precision damage, but this is now entirely dependent on the weapon, as it is for higher ranked enemies
  • The amount of time allowed between kills to generate a masterwork orb has been reworked per archetype:
      • 2.5 seconds for shotguns, hand cannons, scout rifles, machine guns, and pulse rifles
      • 3 seconds for auto rifles and trace rifles
      • 4 seconds for bows, fusion rifles, rocket launchers, and grenade launchers
      • 5 seconds for sniper rifles, linear fusion rifles, sidearms, submachine guns, and swords
  • Auto Rifles
    • PvE damage increased between +30% and +25% depending on combatant rank
  • Bows
    • PvE damage increased by +31% against minor enemies, and +26% against major enemies
    • Fixed an issue where bow draw times were displayed incorrectly in the inspection screen
  • Hand Cannons
    • PvE damage against minor enemies increased by 30%
    • Lightweight and Adaptive hand cannons use a new firing animation while aiming down sights
      • This change was made to increase weapon accuracy when firing these weapons as fast as possible
      • Ex: Currently, players can shoot faster than the recoil animation of 140/150 archetypes – so while the Hand Cannon looks to have fully reset from recoil, the following projectile will be shot as if the weapon was still in a recoiled state
    • Reduced the effect the range stat has on damage range falloff (effective range) for this weapon archetype
  • Machine Guns
    • PvE damage against minor enemies increased by 25%
    • Increased the effects of damage range falloff on this weapon archetype
  • Pulse Rifles
    • PvE damage against minor enemies increased by 28%
    • Increased the effects of damage range falloff on this weapon archetype
    • Archetype specific damage changes (impacts both PvE and PvP gameplay)
      • Rapid-Fire Pulse Rifles now deal 14/23.8 base/precision damage (Previously 13/21.4)
      • High Impact Pulse Rifles now deal 21/33.6 base/precision damage (Previously 20/32)
  • Scout Rifles
    • PvE damage increased between +36% and +18% depending on combatant rank
  • Sidearms
    • PvE damage increased to minor and major combatants by 16%
  • Sniper Rifles
    • PvE damage increased by +47% against minor enemies, +20% for others
      • Exotic sniper rifle perk damage bonuses have been modified to compensate for this change and they will not receive the full benefits as a result
  • Submachineguns
    • PvE damage increased by 22.5% against minor/major combatants
    • Aggressive Frame
      • Removed the intrinsic effect of “Deals bonus damage at close range.”
      • This bonus was 10%, but was unintentionally always active
      • The bonus damage has been moved to the base damage for 750 RPM Submachineguns, resulting in no damage change
      • As a result, Tarrabah and The Huckleberry gain 10% damage in both PvE and PvP
Exotics
  • Sweet Business
    • Increased magazine size from 100 to 150.
    • Increased PvE damage by 15%.
    • High Caliber rounds have been replaced with Armor Piercing rounds.
    • Damage changed to 15/21.2 base/precision (Previously 13.21/21.14)

    • Reduced the impact of this perk on total reserves
  • Ricochet Rounds
    • Removed the hidden bonus to damage falloff
  • Swashbuckler
    • Perk now activates when getting a kill with Ball Lightning
  • Grave Robber
    • Perk now activates when getting a kill with ranged melee abilities (ie: Ball Lightning, Explosive Knife)
  • One-Two Punch
    • Reduced the effectiveness of stacking One-Two Punch and Cross Counter (Liar’s Handshake)
    • Ex: Players won’t be able to defeat Riven in less than three seconds after Shadowkeep launches using the combo of One-Two Punch and Liar’s Handshake, but we know many of you will try other builds… and potentially even succeed.
Weapon General Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where AI combatants in Gambit based activities were using PvP values instead of PvE values
  • Fixed an issue on Jade Rabbit where parts of the ornament were appearing on the original weapon art
  • Fixed an issue where masterworked weapons would sometimes spawn a large amount of orbs off a single kill
  • Fixed an issue where killing Vex Harpies with precision damage from Outbreak Perfected wasn’t spawning Nanites as expected
  • Added missing Thunderlord Killfeed and Obituary icons
  • Infusing Thunderlord now correctly requires a destination material (EDZ Dusklight Shards)

PLAYER IDENTITY SYSTEMS

TRIUMPH STEPS

  • Triumphs can now be broken into steps with each step granting Triumph score
      • Some Triumphs have been extended with additional steps that grant additional Triumph Score
      • Some Triumphs have had their existing requirements broken into steps and the original Triumph Score has been split between those steps

      • For Season of the Undying it is The Gate Lords Eye
  • At the end of the season the artifact will go away, and be replaced by a new artifact
  • The seasonal artifact has two progressions:
      • Artifact Power:
          • Gain an uncapped bonus to your power by earning XP.  Each point of power takes more XP to earn than the last
      • Artifact Mods
          • Earn up to 12 points by gaining XP
          • Spend points to unlock seasonal mods for Armor 2.0

ARMOR CHANGES

Character Stats
  • Discipline, Intellect, and Strength stats return from the original Destiny game
  • Your Discipline determines your grenade recharge rate
  • Your Intellect determines you super recharge rate
  • Your Strength determines your melee ability recharge rate
  • All stats now go from 0 to 100
  • For Discipline, Intellect, and Strength, a stat of 30 is the equivalent recharge rate to the pre-Shadowkeep recharge rate with no mods affecting that recharge rate applied
  • A stat of 100 is the equivalent of having 5 of the appropriate recharge rate-affecting mod applied
  • Each piece of armor now provides you with contributions to each of your six stats
  • Armor that drops in the world, from engrams, and activity rewards have randomized stats
Armor 2.0
  • All exotic and legendary armor will drop to use the new armor system
  • Armor 2.0 versions of exotic armor pieces can be pulled from your Collection provided you have collected that exotic
  • All Armor 2.0 armor pieces have an energy type (Arc, Solar, Void) and an energy capacity
      • Energy capacity can be upgraded by spending currencies and materials, to a maximum of 10
      • Armor with 10 energy is considered to be masterworked and provides a +2 bonus to all six character stats
  • All armor mods have an energy cost and an energy type (Arc, Solar, Void, or Any)
      • Arc, Solar, and Void mods can only be socketed into armor of the matching energy type; mods with an Any energy cost can be socketed into any armor
  • Each piece of armor comes with multiple armor mod sockets, into which your mods can be applied
  • A socketed armor mod occupies an amount of the armor’s energy capacity equal to the mod’s energy cost; you must have enough armor energy available to be able to socket a mod
  • Armor mods are no longer consumable, and are instead unlocked and resuable across all applicable armor pieces once acquired
  • Armor mods can be acquired from gunsmith packages, direct purchase from the gunsmith, world engrams, and pinnacle activity engrams
  • Armor 2.0 mods and pre-Armor 2.0 armor perks do not stack

          • Removed the effect of automatically reloading allies’ weapons while they occupy your rift
          • This exotic armor piece now grants a reload speed bonus for allies occupying your rifts

ECONOMY

ARMOR MASTERWORKING COSTS

  • Masterworking Armor costs and levels have been updated to include two new materials: Enhancement Prisms and Ascendant Shards
  • Both these materials can be obtained via the following sources:
      • Nightfall: The Ordeal rewards
      • Purchased from the Gunsmith for a rotating variety of currency and resources
      • Other special reward sources such as the Season Pass
  • Enhancement Prisms and Ascendant Shards are capped at 50 and 10 respectively to limit hoarding, and to keep players unfamiliar with this system from sinking all their resources into a single item

INFUSION MATERIAL COSTS

  • Infusion between two items of any rarity now requires only a single material to complete: Upgrade Modules
  • Upgrade Modules can be obtained via the following sources:
      • Each of the Gunsmith Weekly Bounties award one Upgrade Module per week
      • Purchased from the Gunsmith for a rotating variety of currency and resources
      • Season of Undying free track Season Pass rank rewards
  • Upgrade Modules are capped at 25 to limit hoarding, and to keep players unfamiliar with this system from sinking all their resources into a single item
  • Discarding an Enhancement Core no longer deletes the entire stack

BRIGHT DUST

  • Bright Dust is now earned by completing Crucible, Gambit, and Vanguard weekly and repeatable bounties
      • We chose to grant all of Bright Dust from ritual weekly bounties rather than spreading it out across the weekly and daily bounties so players could more easily earn Bright Dust without having to make sure they complete every single daily
      • Players will be able to do the repeatable bounties as many times as they like
      • Any Crucible, Gambit, or Vanguard completed bounties need to be turned in before maintenance begins on 9/30 as these changes will reset them; other bounties—Gunsmith, clan, Eververse, etc.—can still be claimed after Oct 1
  • Eververse items no longer dismantle into Bright Dust, and instead grant legendary shards and glimmer
  • New Eververse items for Season of the Undying will become available for Bright Dust two weeks into the Season
  • Eververse items no longer require Bright Dust to reacquire them(or re-roll perks) from Collections; instead, they cost the same materials that reward items of the same type/rarity use
  • Fireteam Medallions have been removed from the store, deprecated into Fizzled Fireteam Medallions, and can now be dismantled into Bright Dust to recover their purchase price (50 Bright Dust)
  • Gleaming Boon of the Vanguard price has been lowered to 150 Bright Dust
  • Gleaming Boon of the Crucible price has been lowered to 500 Bright Dust

EVERVERSE

  • The Season 7 Best of Year One Engram has been retired, and in its place, players can now obtain the new Season 8 Nostalgic Engram
  • The Seasonal Milestone no longer grants a bounty; instead, it directly grants a Bright Engram
  • The Season 8 Nostalgic Engram is no longer earned at level up
      • Instead, the Bright Engram is now included in the free rewards of the Season Pass that are visible before level 100; it’s also awarded every 5 levels after level 100
  • The Eververse storefront is now available via the Director
  • Eververse bounties (standard and IGR versions) have been deprecated; any remaining bounty notes can be broken down into Bright Dust
      • You can still complete and turn in any outstanding Eververse bounties until they expire

GLIMMER

  • Players can now store up to 250,000 Glimmer
  • Glimmer rewards from the majority of sources in the game have been rebalanced
      • Most open world sources (public events, Lost Sectors, chests) have been significantly increased
      • Passive Glimmer gain on kill has been reduced
      • In addition to directly awarding Glimmer on kill, combatants will sometimes drop additional Glimmer chunks
  • Weekly bounties award a large amount of Glimmer in addition to their other rewards

SPIDER’S EXCHANGE

  • The Spider welcomes new opportunities with four arms open and now deals in materials from all planets
  • However, the Spider has noted changes in market value, and has adjusted his exchange rates accordingly:
      • Glimmer exchange now costs 10 Legendary Shards or 20 materials, and yields 10,000 Glimmer
      • Tangled Shore daily bounties no longer award Glimmer, providing instead Etheric Spirals (in keeping with his competition)
      • Weekly wanted bounties no longer award gear, but now provide between 3,000 and 15,000 Glimmer in addition to the Enhancement Cores currently offered

XÛR

  • Xûr’s inventory pool and Fated Engram now include world-drop Exotics from Year 2

UNIVERSAL ORNAMENTS

Select armor sets now function as Universal Ornaments. Once unlocked, these ornaments can be used to change the appearance of any Legendary Armor 2.0 item. Note armor items that correspond to converted Universal Ornaments have not been removed from player inventories; already owned armor items still exist in their current state.
  • All previously purchased Eververse armor pieces will unlock a corresponding Universal Ornament of the same appearance and slot on all Armor 2.0 items
  • Past Eververse sets have been converted to Universal Ornaments, and will be available in Silver bundles via the Eververse archive
  • Pricing for these bundles will be reduced for each piece in the bundled set already owned on the account
  • Seasons 1 and 3 sets will be available when Shadowkeep launches – additional seasonal sets will be added at later dates

GUNSMITH

  • Weekly bounties now award an Upgrade Module instead of an Enhancement Core
  • Banshee-44’s mod inventory has been refreshed
  • Banshee-44 is now selling Upgrade Modules for infusion, as well as Enhancement Prisms and Ascendant Shards for armor Masterworking
  • Players who obtained a Legendary set of Solstice armor in Season of Opulence will find a bundle available on Banshee containing an Armor 2.0 version of the set
      • You must be logged in on the relevant class to see its bundle on Banshee (if you obtained that class’s Legendary Solstice set)

REWARDS POWER AND PROGRESSION

  • All non-powerful rewards now drop 3 to 0 points below your highest equippable Power level, up from 15 to 20 below
  • Year 2 powerful reward sources have changed to Legendary rewards
    • These sources no longer have a chance to drop a random Exotic instead of the Legendary gear
  • Bonus Exotics that drop from Nightfall: The Ordeal will drop at the character’s highest equippable Power level
  • Under- and over-leveling activities no longer adjust how much Power is received from the rewards
  • Experience no longer fuels a player’s character level, which has been changed to be level 50 for all characters
    • Experience instead progresses the Season Pass, Seasonal Artifact mod, and Power progressions, as well as the unlocking of destinations for new characters
    • Experience rewards have been rebalanced with the introduction of the Season Pass and Seasonal Artifact progressions
  • The Power granted from the Seasonal Artifact is additive with the Power of the player’s equippable gear, but does not increase the Power of gear drops
  • All existing gear has had its Power increased to a minimum of 750; new characters will begin Destiny 2 at Power 750 as well
  • The Power bands for Season 8 are as follows
    • Floor: 750
    • Soft Cap: 900
      • All drops up to this point will be upgrades to the most powerful item in your inventory or vault
      • Beyond this point, only powerful and pinnacle rewards will increase a player’s Power
    • Powerful Cap: 950
      • All non-powerful/pinnacle rewards are capped at 950
      • Pinnacle rewards are the only way to raise Power above this point
      • Powerful rewards are equivalent to the character’s highest-equippable Power beyond this point
    • Pinnacle Cap: 960
      • This is the highest Power at which gear drops; also known as the “hard cap”
      • The Seasonal Artifact bonus Power allows characters to attain values above this level
  • Prime Engrams
    • Prime Engrams now gain charges more quickly, drop more frequently, and have a higher maximum charge cap (nine charges, up from six during Year 2)
    • The Power gains have been rebalanced for the increased frequency, providing +3 Power, down from a range of +4 to +7
    • Players who have completed the “Prime Example” quest prior to Shadowkeep’s release will earn charges, but those charges won’t drop until the character has reached 900 Power
    • This will help players avoid spending charges early for gains that are most beneficial during the Soft Cap to Powerful Cap range

BOUNTIES

  • Reworked Tower bounty pools, and added a new ‘Repeatable Daily Bounty’ which can be purchased by players for a significant amount of glimmer as many times as they like

Battlefield 5 Operation Underground Release Date Set for This Week, Watch the Gameplay Trailer Now

It seems our guess as to what this week’s “good stuff” in Battlefield 5 is correct! DICE has today announced the Battlefield 5 Operation Underground release date, and it’s set for October 3! For those unaware, Operation Underground is the re-imagined version of fan-favorite map Operation Metro.

Check out the Battlefield 5 Operation Underground gameplay trailer below!

Drawing inspiration from the Operation Métro map featured in Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4: Second Assault, Operation Underground is a true passion project in level design. Featuring intense close-quarter combat, the map takes place in a war-torn German city environment across diverse play areas including urban streets and courtyards, and within the narrow tunnels of the German underground railway, passenger and supply trains. The trains are halted when artillery fire ruptures the ground above, causing both sides to navigate through the confined space to reach the other side.

Here’s the map breakdown and capture points straight from DICE:

Operation Underground at a Glance

Units:

  • Infantry Only

Size:

  • Small

Tempo:

  • Fast and Chaotic

Key Areas and Conquest Capture Points

You’ll experience fast and dynamic firefights in a train station, on city streets, and on an open plaza when playing the objective on Operation Underground. Below, we’ve detailed these three main areas.

Capture Point A: Crossroads

This point is all about city streets and courtyards with plenty of enterable buildings with several floors. The area was an important hub for the city’s military activity, which is why it was bombed by the Allies before the attack.

Capture Point B: Train Station

The train station served as both a shelter and a crucial part of the supply line in and out of the city. Down here, German soldiers are still lingering and must be defeated before the Allies can claim the city is free of enemies. The area will be familiar to fans of Operation Metro-style gameplay – but with more flanking routes! Prepare for occasional floods, opening and closing access to handy shortcuts.

Capture Point C: Plaza

This is the command center of the city’s German operation. The plaza is a more open area with a big accessible town hall in the center. Converted to a military command center that pulls the strings of the German defense of the city, the town hall has limited access to higher floors, but many rooms on the first floor.

Tips for Success on Operation Underground

  • Teamwork is key for getting results – more so than on most maps. Communicate, coordinate, and share resources. Securing a win here really proves your team effort.
  • Look for Fortification opportunities to secure ammo, cover, and flow changers, and learn how to best use them as attacker and defender. Be aware that some Fortifications become available as the match proceeds.
  • Are you a skilled diver willing to take a risk? You may very well find a beneficial flank on the map. Take the plunge and set up a surprise attack on your enemies.
  • If you reach a good position through difficult flanks, it may be worth waiting for your squad to spawn in on you before revealing yourself. This way, you’ll double down on the effect and reward.
  • The map sectors have pros and cons for different weapon setups. Some locations provide more long-range opportunities, while others are quite the opposite. Look over and tweak your Company loadouts to tackle all scenarios and be effective at each sector.

The minimap datamine leak seems to be accurate too, as game modes available will be: Breakthrough, Conquest, Squad Conquest and Team Deathmatch.

Don’t forget to check out today’s patch that dropped, which doesn’t add anything new, but rolls out fixes.

Mortal Kombat 11 Terminator Gameplay Trailer Releases

NetherRealm Studios has finally released the Mortal Kombat 11 Terminator gameplay trailer, giving us our true first in-depth look at the DLC character releasing next week.

We gotta say the character plays very much as we expected him to and I’m sure fans will feel excited about it as the character certainly stays faithful to their film roots. Hopefully the character comes packed with all kinds of alternative costumes (Terminator 2 specifically), but for now the one showcased is the version in the new upcoming film, Terminator Dark Fate. We do in the least get a glimpse of the character in its endoskeleton form along with one of the fatalities. And if it wasn’t obvious from the trailer, the voice behind The Terminator is not being portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger, but instead an impersonator as confirmed previously. No reason was given why Arnold didn’t voice the character, though we suspect it may have been due to time considering it’s likely these voice lines were recorded well in advance, and if the team ever needed to record new lines it’s not like Arnold would be available at all times.

The Terminator officially releases for Mortal Kombat 11 on October 8 for Kombat Pass owners, and one week for non-pass users. The latest patch recently added support for the character and in case you missed the patch notes you can read up on it here: Mortal Kombat 11 Update 1.10 Patch Notes

And in related DLC news, if you stuck around post trailer you’ll also notice that on October 8 we will also be getting a “double feature” character skin pack along with a Harley Quinn Cassie Cage themed skin. The skins in the Double Feature pack are clearly inspired by films as Sonya appears to be wearing a Sarah Connor outfit (Terminator 2), with Kano either cosplaying as a Terminator or more of Cyborg from the Justice League, and Johnny Cage wearing either a secret agent costume or a film premiere suit.

We are a bit surprised to see a Harley Quinn outfit so early, considering the Joker character DLC isn’t set to release until January of next year. Still we ain’t complaining as it looks great.

Stay tune as we will be covering the Terminator dlc when it launches next week, and afterwards we can start looking forward to the Sindel dlc as that’ll arrive late November.

Apex Legends Season 3 New Map and New Team Call Out Mechanic Revealed

The Apex Legends Season 3 new map has been revealed, alongside some new mechanics that will make it easier for teams to help each other stay alert while surviving against everyone else. Check out the map below and read on for more details.

apex-legends-season-3-new-map-and-team-mechanics-revealed

The brand new trailer for Apex Legends Season 3 showed all kinds of details about this map, including a geyser that will shoot players high up into the air, and a train that will allow players to traverse the map easily. With a new map comes new places to learn for players to drop in, which will take time and mean that many matches are unbalanced to begin with. A new Legend, Crypto, is also being added with Season 3 of Apex Legends, which will stir things up in each match even more.

Alongside the new map, a new feature that hasn’t specifically been referenced was revealed. Check out the image below and see if you can guess what it is before reading on.

apex-legends-season-3-new-map-and-team-mechanics-revealed-1

If you haven’t worked it out yet, this new feature allows allies to call out when your team is being ambushed. This is an enhancement to the callout mechanics in Apex Legends that let players tell each other where to go, where enemies are, and where supplies are. This should make it easier if a team is in a building being flanked, and not all of the players in that team see the enemy.

The update for Apex Legends Season 3 drops later today, so if you’re a player be sure to download it so you can play the new map as soon as possible.

Man Does a Fallout 76 Proposal and Bethesda Even Helped Out

It’s always great when game companies get involved with their respective communities in one way or another, whether it be community events, AMAs, or more. And recently, the folks at Bethesda went the extra mile to help out one of their fans on his Fallout 76 proposal.

Reddit user /u/gibbersganfa or Justin shared, on the Fallout 76 sub-reddit, the story of how he reached out to Bethesda to hopefully somehow help him with his Fallout-themed proposal to long-time girlfriend Deana (/u/deanamae). Surprisingly, Bethesda community manage Devann (/u/LadyDevann) and the Bethesda art team create custom “clues” for a scavenger hunt inspired by Fallout 76’s Perk cards.

Justin then recorded and uploaded the actual scavenger hunt and proposal on YouTube. He said on his Reddit post on Bethesda going out of their way to help him, “They could have just as easily said no, or not bothered to respond to this random goofball from South Dakota with a weird idea. We’ll always be grateful for facilitating a unique moment in our lives together – very much in the spirit of a quest from within a fictional world we share a love of so much!”

Kudos to the LadyDevann and the team at Bethesda for their kind efforts. You can check out Justin’s post on Reddit or the Fallout 76 proposal video below:

In other Fallout 76 news, Bethesda has laid out some of the stuff coming in 2020, which includes a PTS (Private Test Server), Legendary status, and more.

New Tokyo Ghoul Trailer Shows Gameplay for Latest Entry in the Series

The new Tokyo Ghoul trailer for Tokyo Ghoul: re CALL to EXIST shows brand new gameplay from the latest entry in the series. The trailer shows off which characters will be playable, those that will appear as bosses, and even some of the combat mechanics that will feature in the final release. Check out the trailer below and read on for more details.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_C2kuBquPVA

The protagonist of the Tokyo Ghoul anime, Ken Kaneki, is the most prominent playable character in Tokyo Ghoul: re CALL to EXIST. In addition to Ken, who is a half-ghoul, the well known gourmet Ghoul, Shu Tsukiyama, the serpent Ghoul, Nishiki Nisho, the manager of the :re coffee shop and Kaneki’s wife, Touka Kirishima, the powerful executive, Naki, the black rabbit of Goat organisation, Ayato Kirishima, and former Ghoul investigator, also known as OWL, Seidou Takizawa will all feature in the game.

Each character, and boss, appears to have their own special abilities that set them apart from each other. While the gameplay could be mistaken for that of Code Vein, Tokyo Ghoul: re CALL to EXIST will almost certainly not be a soulslike game, and instead be closer to an action role playing game.

In Tokyo Ghoul: re CALL to EXIST, a war is raging between Ghouls and investigators on the streets of Japan’s largest city. This entry in the series will be the first videogame adaptation of the manga to make its way to western regions, bringing together characters from across the various Tokyo Ghoul anime series.

Battlefield 5 Update 1.26 Patch Notes & Here’s a Workaround for Stuck PC Download, “Good Stuff” Incoming Soon

If you’ve been experiencing disconnects in Battlefield 5 after the recent patch, DICE is on the case! The studio has released a new Battlefield 5 update today which is more of a hotfix than a full-on patch (even if there is a download required). Clocking in at 5GB on PC, 443MB on PS4, and 500MBXbox One, the full Battlefield 5 update 1.26 patch notes (if you can even call ’em that) can be seen below.

Battlefield 5 update 1.26 patch notes (hotfix details):

Primarily it will fix the disconnect issue that Xbox users were facing this weekend, but it will also deliver fixes for upcoming content ahead of the start of Battlefest.

Now, if you’re a PC player and you’re experiencing issues downloading the hotfix (as in it gets stuck at 60 percent), there’s a workaround for it, though DICE says they’re “looking into it.” Here’s how to get past it:

I think I’ve found a workaround. Verify game files on origin and once it finishes, origin will start a 5.22GB download instead of 700MB. Also it’s gone over 495MB

Lastly, Battlefield Community Manager Jeff Braddock has mentioned that “good stuff” is incoming in the studio’s This Week in Battlefield V dev posts on Reddit.

https://twitter.com/Braddock512/status/1178713916802600965

#ThisWeekinBattlefieldV will be coming out on Tuesday. Stay tuned. (Some good stuff is coming!)

Could this good stuff be an announcement that we’ll get the Operation Metro re-imagining (called Operation Underground) really soon? I sure hope so. Speaking of which, go check out the minimap of Op Underground right here.

How a Good Headset Is Important to Gaming

If you are a hardcore PC gamer, then you know the value of a quality headset when it comes to gaming. Most people only appreciate the essence of a quality headset the moment they lay their hands on quality equipment that creates a unique feeling when on a PC game.

Ideally, the purpose of a good headset is to provide a microphone for in-game communication and to filter sound directly into your ears. A high-quality headset offers these two functions at a go allowing you to enjoy gaming like never before.

If you are playing and you do not wish to cause any disturbance to those around you, then you need a good headset by your side. Unlike speakers, headsets allow you to listen to the sound internally and get the unique soundtracks in the game that you usually miss out when you turn on the loudspeaker. While a speaker will cost you a lot of bucks, most headsets are affordable even on a fixed budget.

In this article, we give you reasons to buy a good headset. We also highlight some critical features of a quality headset that you should look out for on any headset the next time you shop. Read through to learn more about headsets.

Here is what you should look for in a headset

Comfortability

Most gamers will agree with the notion that any headset that provides maximum comfort on your ears is worth your money. A comfortable headset is a good headset that every gamer can desire to have. If you are going to game for hours, then having a lousy headset can cause you a lot of pain. A good headset comes with the right padding, headband, and comfortable ear cups that ensure maximum comfort.

It should be relatively light to exert minimal pressure and friction on your head. Most gamers prefer having headsets with suspension headbands because you can easily adjust them to your size. A good headset should not trap the sweat and heat on your skin. It should have some space for breathability.

High isolation rate

The quality of sound produced by any headset depends on the quality of its sealing. Some games use slight directional cues, and having a headset with quality sealing can be of great help. Sometimes the headphone pad cannot create the right sealing immediately. It may take some time as it adjusts to your ear size.

Always look out for headphone pads with relatively large circumference to boost the sealing. If your favorite headset comes with smaller padding, you can replace them to increase the sealing.

Microphone quality

Most people ignore the mic feature on a headset. However, a quality mic adds on the essential elements of a good headset. Microphones are useful for team communication and audio recordings. Always go for headsets with detachable microphones. This way, you can quickly fix the mic whenever you feel like using it.

Surround sound

The environmental cues and surround sound are other crucial aspects of gaming. Not every headset allows you to interact with the game and feel everything on the battlefield. It can be essential to have a headset that supports 3D sound and surround sound.

Headsets with the surround features come with multiple speakers and a 360- degree soundscape. If you are going to play games with slight environmental cues, then you need a headset that supports surround and stereo sound at a go.

Why you need a good headset

A quality headset has a lot to offer for any hardcore gamer. Here are some reasons you should have a quality headset by your side before you think of gaming.

Superior sound

To be at the top of your game, you need gaming assets that will provide clear, crisp, and quality sound. Conventional speakers only produce stereo sound, and a good headset offers more than that making the gaming livelier. A headset delivers the sound directly to your ears, which makes it sound better. You cannot miss on the pitch, bass, and tone with a good headset on your ears.

Team communication

With a quality headset, you can easily communicate with your teammates. A headset comes with a mic that you can use to communicate with your teammates while you play online team-based games. If you intend to win in a team-based game, then talking with your teammates plays a crucial role.

You can easily coordinate strategies and make decisions essential for your team if you have a gaming headset by your side.

Reduced disturbance

Having gaming headphones is a better way of increasing your concentration rate on a game. It makes you enjoy the game when you feel like posing it. A good gaming headset blocks the external noises that may reduce your concentration. Also, if you have a gaming headset, you can have a quite gaming session without causing any disturbances to those around you.

Affordability

A headset is the cheapest sound system you can have. Unlike high-quality sound systems that will have you parting ways with a lot of money, you can get a quality gaming headset for a few bucks. Apart from the affordability, gaming headsets have many features to offer. You can easily swap the different components on a gaming headset such as a microphone, cushions, ear cups, and headphone pads. This way, you get the quality you desire on a headset.

Conclusion

A good headset is one that makes you feel connected with the game while you capture every moment of your time. It should come with unique features such a microphone, extension cables, and compatible USB jack. No matter your choice of a headset, most headsets will always provide the necessary features essential for online gaming.

When you look forward to shopping for a quality gaming headset, you should take your time. Check for its key features and specification to ensure you land a good one. If you are looking for a top-quality gaming headset, then you should be willing to spend some reasonable amount.

Shawn Layden Sony PlayStation Game Studios Boss Departing Company

Sony has announced that Shawn Layden, the chairman of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios, will be departing the company for undisclosed reasons.

The announcement was made via a company tweet stating: “It is with great emotion that we announce that Worldwide Studios Chairman Shawn Layden will be departing SIE. His visionary leadership will be greatly missed. We wish him success in future endeavors and are deeply grateful for his years of service. Thanks for everything, Shawn!”

Layden has been a mainstay for PlayStation for quite a long time, regularly appearing on stage at the company’s E3 press conferences during his time as president of Sony Interactive Entertainment America and his most recent position as Chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios, which began in 2018 when Sony consolidated the PlayStation divisions under one roof.

The reason for his departure remains unclear and a successor was not announced, opening speculation as to circumstances surrounding the events. His Twitter account makes no mention of this new development, further feeding the speculation. We’ll just have to wait and see if he or Sony will have any further announcements regarding this story.

Nintendo Switch Update 9.01 Released, and Here’s What It Does

Following last month’s rather big Nintendo Switch console update, the company has released Nintendo Switch update 9.01! As with incremental updates such as this one, players can expect fixes and such more so than new features.

Here’s the Nintendo Switch update 9.01 patch notes:

Ver. 9.0.1 (Released September 30, 2019)

General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience, including a solution for the following:

  • Resolved an issue that may have triggered errors during game play.
  • Resolved an issue that may display an instruction to remove the Joy-Con during the initial setup of Nintendo Switch Lite.

And that’s about it. Mind, it’s still better of Nintendo to release this than not at all, right? Once we get wind of what’s coming down the pipeline for the console, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.
