Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat League New Seasons Hint at New Characters via Datamined Info

The latest update for Mortal Kombat 11 has finally released for the PC and Nintendo Switch, and while the other platforms have had their patches for a while it was only until today that modders were finally able to data mine its content, confirming the next three seasons and what it’ll be themed around. Not only that, but the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat League new seasons datamined info reveal some of the possible new characters joining the roster.

According PC dataminer Murdoink, the following next three seasons will revolve around revenant, chaos, and sorcery for their themes. You can find the images down below confirming the banners along with a sneak peak at the skins that’ll be available during those seasons.

Reddit user NikIlyasov also posted more images verifying the above, this time showing off some of the obtainable backgrounds during these seasons.

The big interesting take from this is that Season 4 is going to be centered around Havoc while Season 5 will be  about Quan-Chi. These two characters are currently not available in the game as noted by Reddit user NikIlyasov , possibly hinting that we may get these two characters sometimes in the future. In fact, we still have two characters left to be announced for the Kombat Pack, though some may be left disappointed if they aren’t the remaining rumored guest characters.

Currently Mortal Kombat 11 is running on its second Kombat League season called “the Season of Time”, which will last until August 19. During this period players will be able to obtain unique gear and character skins by winning matches and moving up through the ranks. Though if you are like me then the big important piece of content are definitely the new characters, and in case you missed the news you can now download the second Kombat Pack character NightWolf if you’re a Kombat Pack pass holder!

If any more piece of information comes out the data mining we will be sure to keep you all posted, in the meantime we can enjoy the new character and await in anticipation for the remaining of the Kombat Pass characters to get revealed later this month.

Activision Is Selling a Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Duck Gun Charm for $5

Do you remember when Activision sold a red dot for a reticle in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 for $1? While that in itself might be a bit absurd, it seems with today’s Black Ops 4 patch, Activision (or Treyarch) is once again doing something quite ridiculous by now selling a Black Ops 4 duck gun charm for 500 COD Points or $5 in real world currency!

Called the “Ducky” weapon charm, it’s classified as a “Rare” item in the Black Ops 4 Black Market.

While this Black Ops 4 duck gun charm is just a cosmetic item, it’s hard to defend Activision (and Treyarch) when other games like Rainbow Six Siege give almost the exact same thing away for free (as some members of the Black Ops 4 community have pointed out). We should mention that those charms may have been given away for free from previous Twitch drops.

Will people be wise enough to not pony up good real-world money for something as trivial as this? Probably not, adn this is the same exact reason why Black Ops 4 microtransaction revenue is higher than that of Call of Duty: WIII.

Let’s hope that this year’s entry in the franchise — Call of Duty: Modern Warfare — won’t have its microtransactions be as ridiculous, no?

Are you OK with what Activision selling this gun charm for that price since it’s just cosmetic items or is it a bit much? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Fallout 76 Atomic Shop Update – Items and Sales for August 13, 2019

Bethesda may not have said anything official on it yet, but the Fallout 76 Atomic Shop update is live right now. This week we’re seeing a huge sale on items that have been available for a very long time, as well as a big push for a beloved bundle, indicating that it could be the last chance to acquire it. Check out the images and read below them for an in-depth look at what’s going on in the Atomic Shop this week.

fallout-76-atmoic-shop-update-1

In this first screen we can see items such as the Black Sun Glasses and Hunting Caps, all with a big discount applied to them. The discount appears to be around 40 percent for each item, and it looks as though there’s a good reason for the price changes. In the upper section of the store we can see that these items are destined to leave the Atomic Shop soon, possibly never to return. Bethesda is likely removing these items in order to make room for some new ones they’ve got ready. Take note of the time above each item, because it’s the amount of time you have left to acquire them from the Atomic Shop.

fallout-76-atomic-shop-update-2

There are two very exciting items in the above image, but we’re saving one for the end of this article. Bethesda Tweeted out earlier today about the Blue Shirt and Slacks outfit that’s now freely available for the next week in the Atomic Shop. They’ve encouraged everyone to get it before it goes, and take some much needed time off after the stress that has been Meat Week.

fallout-76-atmoic-shop-update-3

Finally we have The Unstoppables Outfit Bundle. This bundle has already been released in the past through the Atomic Shop, but now it’s back. With this bundle players can craft outfits for the various superheroes of the Fallout universe, including Grognak the Barbarian, The Inspector, Manta Man, and the Silver Shroud. These outfits are coveted among Fallout 76 players, so go and get your hands on them if you don’t already own them.

That’s everything we have on the Atomic Shop update for now. If Bethesda announce any future updates we’ll be sure to let you know about them.

PATCH NOTES

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed issue where assigned challenges not resetting properly and giving rewards.

  • Fixed bug causing incorrect calculation of Kill/Death Ratio in player stats.

  • Fixed an issue where sometimes a Care Package would clip into map geometry.

  • Fixed a bug that was sometimes showing Apex Predator ranked players RP as zero when viewing the badge in the Lobby.

  • Fixed issue with players having connection issues when trying to join a squad that has already played a match.

  • Fixed issue where Daily and Weekly Challenges would reset earlier than communicated in the game.

  • [Xbox Only] Fixed bug where players would sometimes not receive “The Player” achievement when hitting level 50.

  • Fixed a bug where sometimes Arc Stars would attach to players and some objects at a distance and appear to float off of them.

  • Fixed bug where sometimes Arc Stars would not explode or do no damage when it detonates.

  • Fixed issue with players sometimes unable to unlock the “Double Duty” Badge.

  • Fixed bug where sometimes using a healing item while experiencing bad ping would cause them to heal for twice as much.

QUALITY OF LIFE

  • Added a Death Recap to the end of match summary that will display a damage summary of your last battle.

Post image
  • Improved the UI during the Match Summary to better show Battle Pass progression.

Post image
  • Added In-game Survey

    • While playing you may get a prompt that will pop up asking if you enjoyed the last match. This data will be helpful to us so please provide your input when you see it.

Post image
  • Added option to spectate your squadmates after dying.

  • Added option to “Invite Squad” in the Squad Tab.

  • Players should no longer lose RP when experiencing a server crash or disconnect in Ranked Mode.

  • Fixed issue where squadmates could not ping a friendly Wraith portal.

  • Fixed issue where players could pull other players out of a match by joining them, and then joining another friend from the Lobby.

  • Fixed issue where sometimes a player would get left behind from their squad in the Lobby after they enter a match.

  • Fixed issue where players would sometimes get a “Party Not Ready” error message even though they were no longer in a party.

  • Fixes that should improve overall game stability to reduce crashes.

WEAPON BALANCE

Disruptor Rounds with Alternator:

  • Reduced Shielded damage multiplier 1.7 -> 1.55.

    • Designer Notes: Disruptor rounds on the alternator are shredding shields a bit too quickly and still proving to be stronger than intended, so we’re reducing the disruptor rounds multiplier on shield damage.

RE-45:

  • Increased Magazine Size for all tiers to the following:

    • Base: 16

    • Common: 19

    • Rare: 22

    • Epic: 25

    • Designer Notes: We’re giving the RE-45 a small boost in power by giving it one more round for every mag size. Downing a non-fortified enemy with the RE-45 with 0, 50, 75, and 100 shields requires 10, 14, 16, and 19 shots respectively, so this extra round gives the gun the ability to one-mag more armored enemies instead of leaving them barely alive.

R-301:

  • Increased vertical and horizontal recoil. Slightly increased recoil pattern randomness.

    • Designer Notes: We’ve made these changes as we’ve seen that the R301 is a bit stronger than intended at long range. We’ve adjusted recoil to balance keeping it effective at medium to close range–which is the original intent–but it should be more difficult for players to auto fire and still laser enemies at long distances.

Post image

LEGENDS

General

  • Made adjustments to Pathfinder’s and Low-Profile Legends hitboxes.

    • Taking shots to the hip now does torso damage instead of leg damage. This should more closely match the behavior of the other Legends.

  • Fixed a bug where activating a healing item would cancel the Ultimate for Legends that need to prime it [Bangalore / Pathfinder / Caustic / Gibraltar / Bloodhound]

  • Fixed an exploit where players would sometimes be able to still shoot while downed.

Bloodhound

  • Increased the distance that Bloodhound can see traversal clues left by other players [but not other kinds of clues] to 25 meters.

  • Adjusted the area of effect for Bloodhound’s Tactical to 125 fov.

Wraith

  • Based on player feedback, we’ve reduced the “hum” audio that’s playing while using Wraith’s Kunai.

  • Fixed issue where actions for Wrath would have a slight delay when her weapon is holstered and crouching or sliding while the kunai is equipped.

  • Fixed an exploit that allowed players to remove the cooldown for Wraith’s Tactical Ability.

Mirage

  • Fixed bug where Mirage was able to stay invisible and still be able to shoot and melee when using his Ultimate on a zipline.

Octane

  • Fixed bug where sometimes Octane’s Jump Pad would not launch the player.

Head on over to our Apex Legends hub page for the latest news and info for the game.

Need for Speed Heat Confirmed as Title of NFS 2019 via Leak

Just a few weeks ago, Need for Speed Heat was leaked by a retailer as the rumored name of the this year’s Need for Speed game. And today we have gotten confirmation via YouTube and Facebook that this is indeed the name EA will go with Need for Speed 2019!

The first confirmation of this was spotted by users on Reddit when they did a little digging on the title. They found that an external link leading from Facebook to YouTube contained the following text

And if this isn’t proof enough, using the YouTube thumbnail grabber site, BoingBoing, we can actually get a small sneak peak at the reveal trailer. The images don’t contain a lot in terms of any major reveal besides the name, though we can leave you to speculate as to what’s going on in the images down below.

Again, due to the quality of the images it’s hard to make out what exactly is going on, but if were to guess this does look like it’ll be a live-action trailer.

The full reveal is expected to happen tomorrow, and with gamescom also less than a week away so we do expect the title to make an appearance there, hopefully for gameplay purposes rather than showing off the reveal trailer again. In an odd occurrence, EA has deleted every mention of old Need for Speed games in the game’s YouTube channel and even social media.

Anthem Cataclysm Week 2 Update and Changes Listed

With last week’s big Anthem update bringing the Cataclysm event and other changes to the game, it seems this is (hopefully) the start of BioWare’s weekly update to the game. Today, the Anthem Cataclysm Week 2 update and changes have been revealed by the studio, and there are new challenges, store items and more.

Called the “Community Cortext” by the studio, check out the complete Anthem Cataclysm Week 2 update below.

Cataclysm “Echoes of Reality” Changes:

  • “Diana’s Landing” Event  – You’ll now have a 4th arena to test your wits and boost your point output before taking on Vara. Diana’s Landing, which is located in the “Dominion Foothold” district, will have you facing the Riftmaster in this brand new puzzle. (No spoilers from me)
  • Inversions Changes – Hope you didn’t get too used to Week 1’s buffs, as this week’s inversions are a bit different:
    • Lightning Rod: Close-range kills chain lightning to nearby enemies.
    • Close Encounters: Shotguns and Machine Pistols deal increased damage.

Seasonal Store Refresh:

  • War Chest: Melee Weapon – (returning)
  • War Chest: Gear – In addition to melee weapon War Chests, you’ll also be able to spend your earned Crystal currency on new War Chests containing a (random) javelin Gear piece. As a reminder, these War Chests allow you to trade in Crystals for a Masterwork item (with a chance to roll Legendary).
  • Shard Torrent Armor Pack (Storm Javelin)
  • Wrap: Fractured Twilight
  • Painted: Amethyst Gemstone Material
  • Graphic: Harmonic Crest
  • Graphic: Night Lattice
  • Decal: Emerald Warp
  • Decal: Cobalt Warp
  • Decal: Amber Warp
  • Arrival: Kung Fu Bring It (Interceptor Javelin)
  • Emote: Excited Come Here

Daily Cataclysm Challenge:

  • Daily Cataclysm Arenas Challenge: Gear – These challenges granted a Melee weapon in Week 1, and now they reward you with a Gear piece (Masterwork with a chance to be Legendary). These can be repeated daily, so don’t forget them!
    • Power of the Storm (Daily) – Complete 3 Cataclysm arenas using the Storm javelin and be rewarded with one Storm Gear piece.
    • Heart of the Ranger (Daily) – Complete 3 Cataclysm arenas using the Ranger javelin and be rewarded with one Ranger Gear piece.
    • Strength of the Colossus (Daily) – Complete 3 Cataclysm arenas using the Colossus javelin and be rewarded with one Colossus Gear piece.
    • Speed of the Interceptor (Daily) – Complete 3 Cataclysm arenas using the Interceptor javelin and be rewarded with one Interceptor Gear piece.

NOTE: These are in addition to the other rotating Daily, Weekly and Monthly challenges, so keep an eye on your Path to Glory tab in the Challenges menu.

For a more detailed look at what’s in the Anthem store refresh today, check it out here. Let’s hope there’s another Cataclysm update next week, and that this is the start of the game’s road to redemption.

PES 2020 Draws Closer: Could This Be The Year It Topples FIFA?

The coming of a new season of football is an exciting time for sports fans, but it’s just as exciting for video gamers. It means that there will be new versions of the two great football game franchises to play: FIFA, and Pro Evolution Soccer (which is getting a new name this year – more on that later). For the majority of the past twenty years, FIFA has been in the driving seat when it comes to player preferences. It had all the official teams, better graphics, and more online activity. Could this be the year that the pendulum swings in the other direction?

Both FIFA and PES have been teasing us with previews of what this year’s versions are going to look like, and this week he hype train for PES officially took to the rails. Konami seems to have made big strides forward this year. They have more officially licensed teams than ever before, and they’ve made a special effort with Juventus. The Italian giants are exclusive to PES this time around, meaning that there will be a ‘fake club’ in their place in FIFA for the first time ever. As well as bringing in more real-life teams and players, they’re also pushing for greater realism. Officials at Konami are promising that each big-name player will be a precise reconstruction of their real counterpart. That means that Virgil van Dyke’s physicality in defense will be a notable factor, whereas Romelu Lukaku will shoot with power, but struggle with his first touch. The days of doing stepovers and fancy tricks with players who would never be capable of it in real life appear to be over.

It’s not just the on-field mechanics which have been getting some much-needed attention, though. The renaming of the franchise is a sign of Konami’s new focus on how players prefer to interact with their game – and it’s all about the online, multiplayer aspect. From now on, Pro Evolution Soccer will be known as ‘eFootball: PES.’ It’s not the catchiest title we’ve ever heard -and it’s prompted some ridicule online – but for Konami, it’s all about emphasizing the multiplayer aspect. They hope that the PES League will be the pinnacle for esports football fans this year, and put FIFA’s Ultimate Team in the shade. In terms of timing, it might be the perfect moment.

For the past year, it’s been impossible to think about FIFA’s Ultimate Team mode without thinking about loot boxes. There have been horror stories in the press about parents finding their children have drained their bank accounts buying up loot boxes, and Belgium has decided they’re a form of gambling and outlawed them. They might have a point. Loot boxes have a lot in common with mobile slots. When you place a bet on mobile slots, you have no idea how that bet will turn out. All you can do is watch the reels spin, and hope you win something when they settle. Loot boxes work in the same manner – without sight of what they contain, those who buy them can only hope they’re getting a fair return on their money. The key difference for concerned parents is that mobile slots are restricted to adults only, and present themselves honestly. People who bet on mobile slots know that they’re gambling. People who buy loot boxes in FIFA might think they’re just taking part in the game. Pointedly, eFootball: PES does not contain loot boxes.

It’s worth mentioning that FIFA won’t surrender its crown without a fight. Players have been clamoring for material changes to the game’s career mode for years now, and for FIFA 20 it looks like EA Sports might have been listening. For the first time ever, it’s possible to create and customize managers – including female managers. Team talks and managerial interactions with players will impact their morale more pointedly, and have a greater impact on performance. The way players perform in a match will impact their overall rating and development. The gist of the information coming out of EA is that career mode will feel more organic, and therefore more realistic.

There’s a new game mode in FIFA, too – although we use the term ‘new’ very loosely. FIFA VOLTA is a street football mode which feels like a callback to the ‘indoor football’ game modes of the 1990s, presented with a modern twist. Players can play 3 on 3, 4 on 4, and with or without goalkeepers. VOLTA is designed to feel like playing football on the street or on an indoor pitch with your friends, and therefore represents a form of the game which the average player is more likely to have participated in than a full 11-a-side match. While it might not be to everybody’s taste, it’s expected to be popular as an online option.

When all is said and done, and the full versions of both games have been played and reviewed, we suspect some of the old arguments will still be made. FIFA will probably feel more like an arcade game, and eFootball: PES will feel more like a simulation. There will be criticism of the goalkeepers in FIFA, and players who feel like it’s impossible to beat a big team with a small team in eFootball: PES. That will probably be the case for as long as both series continue to run: FIFA has always been a game which you can just pick up and play, whereas the PES series has always rewarded practice and skill.

Will the new additions to eFootball: PES in terms of licenses and realism attract players away from FIFA? Will the bad press FIFA has received in the past year in terms of loot boxes and lack of progression result in a downturn in sales? That remains to be seen, but for the first time in a long time, it feels like FIFA isn’t automatically going to win the battle. We suspect a lot of players will do what they always do, though – buy and play both games, and refuse to pick a favorite.

Anthem Store Update August 13, 2019 – Prospero Items List

The Anthem store update is now live for August 13, 2019. The store has some brand new items for players to purchase and customise their Javelins with. Check out the image below and read on for more details about each item that can be purchased.

Anthem-Store-Update-August-13-2019-Prospero-Items-List

Wraps

Lucid Night: 61,000 Coin or 850 Shards – This Wrap has to be one of the best I’ve ever seen in the game. I don’t think it’s been on the store rotation so far, which makes it pretty rare. The look of this Wrap is in line with the current crystal themes that the Cataclysm has brought about, so it’s worth a purchase if the Cataclysm is all you’re grinding right now.

Star-Crossed: 61,000 Coin or 850 Shards – This Wrap has been in the rotation before, but that doesn’t make it any less impressive. This Wrap is one of the few that provide a starscape that a Javelin can wear.

Materials

Fabric: Canvas Zigzag | 12,000 Coin or 300 Shards – A rare material that allows you to turn your Javelin into a Zebra, should you wish to.

Metal: Radioactive | 12,000 Coin or 300 Shards – This Metal Material is rare, but there’s a good chance you’ve already earned it in the game. If you want a battered look adding to your Javelin, this is the Material to use to achieve it.

Emote

Maniac on the Floor: 23,000 Coin or 475 Shards – This emote isn’t anything special, but it’s worth buying to add to the collection if you love messing around with other players.

Arrival

Raise the Roof: 16,000 Coin or 375 Shards – This Arrival will set you out from the rest of the pack. I’ve never seen this one get used, though after today that could changed.

That’s all for this week’s Anthem store reset, be sure to grab all of the items that you want before the store resets again in a few days.

Check out what the Anthem store update was for July 30, 2019 to see what items you might have missed, and what items might come back around on the rotation.

Gears 5 Map Builder Explained in New Video by Victor Hoffman

Gears 5 Map Builder is explained in detail in a new video by veteran Gear, Victor Hoffman. The video released by The Coalition, explains how customization works in the Escape mode briefings, their new 3 player co-op gametype. The map builder allows players to add different enemies, additional resources, or the potency of venom, such as “spread speed.”

Hoffman breaks down the different map tiles players can use to create new spaces in the game, and how placing different room change the overall experience.  Players can place exits near the beginning of the map for a short run time of the mode, or they can extend the safe rooms for a “three act” game.Along with building the layout of each map, the number of enemies and placement of weapons and ammo are at the player’s disposal. Similar to Forge from the Halo franchise, players can float through the map to examine their work and then test it out locally or online.

Every map created can be uploaded online for others to test or share, and be saved in a custom library of favorites. Escape mode places three original characters from the Gears of War franchise in a hive to eliminate the Swarm while escaping from a deadly cloud of venom.

The Coalition recently announced that Gears 5 went gold, so players will have plenty of chances next month to create deadly mazes. Gears 5 launches on Sept. 13, 2019 on Xbox One and PC.

Plant vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Leaks Online, Watch The Trailer Here

It would appear that the developers behind Plant vs Zombies, Popcap, is getting prepared to announce a new entry in their Garden Warfare series as a leaked trailer has surfaced, confirming this new game will be called Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville (or as someone might call it, PvZ Battle for Neighborville)!

Users over on Reddit yesterday reported that EA had posted info on a new PvZ title known as “ Plant Vs Zombies: Battle For Neighborville ”.  According to the game’s bio it was to feature nine PvP modes, 20 customizable characters, a social space, along with three free roam areas, which is interesting because Garden Warfare doesn’t have a free-roam at all. No other details were listed on the page, which EA quickly ended up removing, though the announcement was all but official at the time of discovery.

And if that doesn’t convince you that the title is indeed real, it would appear that an early cut of the trailer has leaked online and thanks to the PlaystationBrahs, we have out first look at the game.

As you saw, there’s no actual gameplay shown since it consists entirely of CGI footage. We aren’t sure how this trailer leaked, and its obviously a rough cut since you can still see the time coding and partially through it there appears to be an incomplete scene. This announcement is most likely going to be made next week during the annual Gamescom event in Europe. We know several publishers will be there to showcase some new announcements on the opening night and EA happens to be one of them, so we do expect to see them officially debut Plant Vs Zombies: Battle For Neighborville during their segment at the event. And as while the reveal of the next Need for Speed is happening this Wednesday, we do expect to see that title to also be showcased during gamescom.

We will make sure to keep you all updated when new details come in for PvZ: Battle For Neighborville, but in the meantime enjoy the trailer above.

Watch 24 Minutes of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Raw 4K Gameplay Showcasing 5 Modes on 5 Maps

While we’ve already seen gameplay footage of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare before, some people might want to see it without any commentary, comments or any of the sort. Well, if you’re one of those people, you’re in luck! Activision has now released some Modern Warfare raw 4K gameplay, and it’s over 24 minutes long! Yes, the gameplay below is in 4K!

Captured in beautiful 4K on the PlayStation 4 Pro, the footage below shows five different game modes across five different multiplayer maps, which even includes a night variant. We would like to point out that this footage was also captured on a different build from that shown during the multiplayer reveal, as you can see throughout the footage that players are indeed highlighted through walls, something we covered before.

The maps and modes that are showcased throughout the video are as followed:
Grazna Raid – Headquarters
Azhir Cave (Night) – Team Deathmatch
Hackney Yard – Cyber Attack
Azhir Cave – Headquarters
Gun Runner – Domination
Aniyah Palace – 5 Flag Domination
This certainly looks great and the performance on the PlayStation 4 Pro is good sign of things to come at launch. In other Modern Warfare related news, early today we posted that tattoo customization will be part of the operator character personalization elements in the game. For those curious, Modern Warfare will have a Realism mode and it won’t be exclusive to night maps confirmed.
Modern Warfare will shoot its way out this October 25 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Borderlands 3 PC Preload Not Available Due to Epic Game Store

PC players hoping to get a jump start on downloading Borderlands 3 will be disappointed to learn that the  Epic Game Store will not be delivering on a Borderlands 3 PC preload option come this September.

While the Epic Game Store does indeed support preloading, taking to Twitter, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney took to answering fans questions about Borderlands 3 preload option before launch.

This of course didn’t sit to well with PC fans as some were quick to point out that other third-arty part titles have supported Preloading, and according to Tim the situation at this time is “complicated” due to believing that they can’t the demand of the title if it had preload available.

Its an odd exclusion indeed, given that Borderlands 3 is considered to be one of the platform’s biggest timed exclusive. This only further pushes the general opinion of the Epic Game Store, as it currently lacks many of the staple features that steam fans have grown accustom to. Unfortunately those wanting to get the game on steam will need to wait until next year, as EGS currently holds exclusivity rights for six months.

Console players of course won’t have to worry about preloading as the title will support it on both Xbox and PlayStation platforms. Borderlands 3 launches on September 13 on PC (Epic Game Store), PS4 and Xbox One. For all the latest information on Borderlands 3 make sure to check out our Borderlands 3 hub for all the latest trailers and news, and in case you missed the recent news the Playstation Pro version of the game will indeed support 60 frame-per-seconds!

EA Is Purging Need for Speed Social Media and YouTube of Past Game References Ahead of Need for Speed 2019 Reveal

Earlier today, we reported that EA is finally starting to promote and officially reveal this year’s Need for Speed game, which is set to start this Wednesday. Apparently, that’s not all the publisher is doing, as it’s also removing everything referencing past titles for the franchise, too.

Over on the official Need for Speed YouTube channel, all the videos showcasing past titles in the franchise has been pulled (unlisted) for some reason. This is also the case with the official Instagram Need for Speed account as well. Even on EA’s website, everything about past NFS games have been taken out in terms of an official page, with Need for Speed: No Limits being the only exception. Any of the past NFS pages now redirect to the countdown timer for NFS 2019. The only thing not removed  have been the forums for the past entries in the franchise.

Its an odd marketing move in our opinion, though it may indicate that this new chapter of Need For Speed will be a fresh start for the series, a reboot if you want to call it that. Or perhaps maybe it’s a new take on the Need for Speed IP? Or (just a hunch here) maybe EA is following Ubisoft’s footsteps and introducing a live services Need for Speed game? If this happens, EA won’t need to release a new one every year or so, and just focus on adding content to the one that’s already been released. However, we find that unlikely considering the publishers had attempted (and failed) when they made an always online Need For Speed title earlier this console generation.

Why do you think EA is removing/unlisting all the old Need for Speed references in its channels? Make sure to check back Wednesday for the full Need for Speed 2019 reveal.
