No Man’s Sky: Beyond Gets Official ESRB Rating

No Man’s Sky: Beyond has finally received an ESRB rating, indicating that the expansion is still on course for a summer release

Much like the base game, this expansion has received a T for Teen rating from the board. You can view the official description down below, although it is the same as the base game with a few words taken out of it.

Rating Summary: This is a space-exploration game in which players assume the role of a planetary explorer on a quest to reach the center of the universe. From a first- or third-person perspective, players travel between systems to explore alien worlds for resources, to upgrade equipment, and to discover unique life forms. As players pilot spacecraft to different planets, they can engage in space combat against enemy ships and space pirates; combat is accompanied by laser fire and large explosions. While on the planet surface, players can use a variety of gun-like weapons and melee attacks to defeat alien creatures, human-like figures, and robots. Ground battles can be frenetic with frequent laser blasts, explosions, and screen-shaking effects.

No Man’s Sky: Beyond has yet to receive an official release date other than a Summer window launch. The expansion is set to bring a large number of multiplayer changes that Hello Games is dubbing as “No Man’s Sky Online”
No Man’s Sky Online includes a radical new social and multiplayer experience which empowers players everywhere in the universe to meet and play together. Whilst this brings people together like never before, and has many recognizable online elements, we don’t consider No Man’s Sky to be an MMO – it won’t require a subscription, won’t contain micro transactions, and will be free for all existing players.

Additionally PC and PS4 players can expect full VR support when it launches.

Fortnite Season X Patch Notes (V10.0) Update 2.30 Now Live

Last night Epic Games officially revealed the next season of Fortnite. We’ve got the Fortnite Season X patch notes for you here, as well as what plans developer Epic Games has for the future of Fortnite as we know them so far. Patch 2.30 is around 3GB in size. Check out the official story trailer for Fortnite Season X below and read on for more.

The official story trailer for Fortnite Season X above shows us that the Zero Point has exploded, and it’s caused time around the map to shift and get stuck in different places, such as the past, present, future, and alternate dimensions. If you watch closely you can even see that Peely has been brought back, because the explosion has reverse time to the point before he jumped in the cup, causing him to be a banana map once more.

The patch notes for Fortnite Season X (version 10.0 patch notes) are as follows.

Battle Royale

What’s New?

Season X Battle Pass

A brand new season means a brand new Battle Pass. As usual, this one can be purchased for 950 V-bucks, and you’ll get the X-Lord and catalyst outfits instantly for purchasing it. There are 100 tiers with over 100 items to unlock, with tier 100 giving you the Ultima Knight Outfit.

this season the Battle Pass has missions, which are thematic quests that send you around the island in order to unlock challenges. This season you can also gift a Battle Pass to a friend until August 15 2019. Check out the Fortnite Season X Battle Pass Overview trailer below and read on for the rest of the patch notes.

B.R.U.T.E.

These are giant mechs that are controlled by two players at once! One player controls the movement, while the other controls the weapons. However, if you’re feeling adventurous in solo mode you could jump into one and switch between the two, if you’re good enough.

Rift Zones

The Zero Point exploding has brought back areas that have long disappeared form the island. It’s time to venture out to explore them, but the time distortion has given them strange effects that will change the way you play the game. One effect we caught in the trailers was a zone where no building is allowed.

Weapons and Items

  • B.R.U.T.E.
    • This vehicle can be operated by up to two players. If two players are operating it, one (the driver) controls movement, while the other (the gunner) rains down missiles and shotgun shots.
    • The driver is able to:
      • Dash into combat.
      • Super Jump to victory.
      • Stomp enemies and structures into the ground.
        • Anything you would normally harvest will grant materials when destroyed.
    • The passenger has two weapons at their disposal: a shotgun and a missile launcher.

        • Holding down Trigger will begin loading missiles.
        • After releasing Trigger, or after 10 missiles have been loaded, all missiles will automatically fire.
    • New Mechanic: Overshield
      • Consumes 200 of any Material type to create a personal overshield for 5 seconds to protect you in the mech.
  • Vaulted
    • Baller
    • Quad Crasher

    • Shadow Bomb
    • Semi-Auto Sniper

    • Air Strike
    • Itemized Glider Redeploy (still available in large team modes)

fortnite save the world the locker

General

  • The first part of the Locker has arrived in Save the World. You can now use your Emotes, Music Packs, and Loading Screens.
    • The Locker is currently shared between Save the World and Battle Royale, so if you change it in either location, it will change in both.
    • Only Emotes, Music Packs, and Loading Screens are available for Save the World at the moment. We plan to support more types of cosmetics in future updates. Read more about this here.
  • Emotes:
    • All types of Emotes now work in Save the World: Dances, Emoticons, Sprays, and Toys. Any emotes you own are available in all modes.
    • You can slot up to 6 Emotes in the Locker for quick access on the Emote Wheel. Additional Emotes can be accessed by paging the wheel up or down.

    • Along the route are four randomized objectives, each with challenging gameplay and a variety of upgrades.

    • You start the trip without your gear or supplies, making scavenging and harvesting a top priority.
    • You keep your trap schematics, and start with a few “hand-me-down” weapons, but weapon crafting is disabled.
    • Weapons with appropriate perks are scattered throughout the route, increasing your chances of survival without your weapon schematics.
    • Chests in Hit the Road spawn tier-appropriate weapons, traps, and resources.
    • Unlike previous events, Hit the Road uses Power Levels instead of Storm Shield Defense progress to match players to the correct difficulty, bringing more balance to the group.
    • If you are knocked out you will have to wait until your team reaches or completes an objective before you will respawn. Be careful out there!

  • Fixed the Astro Bat 9000 playing an endless ringing sound if the projectile exploded during creation (e.g. spawned inside a wall).

Gameplay Bug Fixes

  • Fixed issue with banner gadget permanently coloring structures blue.
  • Prevent teleporter from being placed inside small objects.
  • Prevent player from becoming trapped inside Supply Drop.
  • The current weapon is now reselected properly after using an ability while jumping off the map.

Art and Animation Bug Fixes

  • Lighting when going to the armory or command tab from the Locker or Store tab with shadows disabled now display correctly
  • Fixed lighting when switching between locker and armory with shadows disabled.
  • Resolved a bug where movement didn’t interrupt Emotes.

General

UI

  • All players’ matchmaking regions have been reset to Auto. You can change your preference in the Options menu.
  • Moved the FPS indicator to the lower left-hand corner while in the Lobby.

Bug Fixes

  • Hover tooltips will no longer prevent mouse clicks in the Settings menu.

Social

  • We discovered that the default Push to Talk (PTT) setting for new console players was “On,” which was unintentional. The default is now “Off,” and we are performing a soft reset of the Push to Talk setting for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch players. This is a one-time reset, and further changes to the setting will persist as normal.
    • Players who have manually changed their PTT settings in the past have had their PTT reset to “Off,” but they are able to change it back to “On.”
  • The Recent Players list has been re-enabled on all platforms. Players in your Battle Royale Squad or Save the World Team will be automatically added to this list as you play.
    • This list automatically clears when you close the game.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue in which a friend invite wasn’t properly being cleared.

Performance

  • A new mesh streaming solution has been enabled on Xbox One, Switch, and PC. This brings improved memory usage and streaming performance.
    • This will be rolled out to other platforms in upcoming releases.
  • Optimized UI performance to improve in-match framerate.
  • With Season X, the PC version of Fortnite requires a DirectX 11-capable graphics card to run the game, as mentioned in our blog post.
  • Implemented ray-traced distance field shadows on Switch.
    • This improves rendering performance and also provides increased shadow range.
  • Enabled multi-threaded particle simulation on Switch.
    • This improves the framerate, especially during skydiving.
  • Optimized GPU occlusion queries on Xbox One.
    • This provides a boost to dynamic resolution and performance.

Mobile

  • iPhone 8 scalability settings have been updated to be more inline with similar devices. Overall performance and stability have been improved.

Known Issues

  • A current known issue is that players must first close the game on one platform before they’ll be able to connect to another platform using the same account. This issue will be resolved in the v10.10 update.

The Division 2 August 1 Update Rolled Out. Here’s What Got Fixed

While Ubisoft just released a server-side update the other day for The Division 2, that hasn’t stopped Ubisoft Massive from including another round of fixes in the game today. Once again rolled out via serve-side (no download required), The Division 2 August 1 update includes a bunch of quality of life fixes that, while won’t affect the game as whole, is still welcome nonetheless.

The Division 2 August 1 update patch notes:

  • Re-introduced the leaderboard for number of raid completions. In order to update your leaderboard from displaying 0 completions, an addition completion of Washington National Airport is required. Note the number of completions does not apply to Discovery mode.
  • Fixed incorrect scrolling in the project menu on PC.
  • Fixed an issue where the Classified Assignment backpack trophies weren’t collectible if the player had the Year 1 pass removed and reinstated.
  • Fixed an issue where players weren’t receiving raid keys when interacting with crates.

In other The Division 2 news, don’t forget to that Ubisoft is giving out a care package to mark the release of Episode 1! You can check the contents of it right here. Now for those who tune in weekly for The State of the Game, Ubisoft announced yesterday that it’s taking a break, though that doesn’t mean the devs won’t be listening to feedback while it is.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Dark Edition Confirmed, Here’s Our First Look at the Night Vision Goggles Included

Remember when Activision bundled an actual night vision goggle with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and called it the “Prestige Edition?” If you bought that or liked it, then you’re in for a treat! It’s now been confirmed that Modern Warfare 2019 will also have its own real life night vision goggles as part of the Modern Warfare Dark Edition!

This was confirmed by GamesRadar Guides Coordinator Leon Hurley over on Twitter, where he posted our first look at the unit when he attended a Modern Warfare press event.

Not bad, right? In case you’re curious, check out what the night vision goggles bundled with Modern Warfare 2 looked like below. Mind, this version was way back in 2009, so it’s a bit more bulky.

No word yet on how much this bad boy will cost, but you can bet it’ll be expensive. If you want to read up on the different (read: cheaper) editions of the game, click here. Don’t forget that the full multiplayer reveal will be happening later today, and here’s the full schedule.

For everything Modern Warfare, make sure to keep your crosshairs locked in to MP1st!

Mortal Kombat 11 Nightwolf Reveal Date Announced, New Teasers Released

Some brand-new teasers videos have been released for the next Mortal Kombat 11 DLC Kombat pack character, Nightwolf.

The first teaser is one confirming the actual release date of the gameplay trailer, which is set to debut tomorrow.

No official time was given for when this reveal will happen, though we do expect to see it during the Mortal Kombat 11 EVO tournament that is also happening tomorrow. We are also likely going to see an official release date, given the fact that Nintendo had leaked by accident last week via a store listing.

Player Identifies Fallout 76 Treasure Map Rewards From 300 Maps

Wickedychickady, the same player responsible for the Tourist Trap Map, has detailed Fallout 76 treasure map rewards from their time digging up 300 treasures. Wickedychickady is level 200, and had five of each of the thirty-five maps available in the game, so they documented what they found region by region in order to help other players get a look at where they might find the best loot for them.

The finds from the total of 300 maps used have been compiled into this spreadsheet. You can see the item types, such as Aid or Weapons, and where they were found, The Forest for example. It’s worth noting that wickedychickady didn’t find all the treasure map mounds by themselves, they used the extremely useful treasure map guide from Dulfy, another member of the Fallout 76 Subreddit. That guide can be found here.

Wickedychickady also pointed out a few things that they learned while going on this journey of uncovering 300 treasures, and making a spreadsheet to track it all.

  1. The Mods you find are for melee weapons, not guns
  2. Every weapon that wickedychickady found was ranged, with no melee weapons being found in any of the 300 spots
  3. Each weapon you find comes with some corresponding ammo, however, wickedychickady didn’t locate any Mini-Nukes even though they found multiple Fat-Man Launchers
  4. Any Junk items found were either: Pre-war Money, Silver, Gold, or a Fancy Hairbrush
  5. The Forest is clearly home to junkies, because most of the items found were Addictol
  6. Most armor and weapons that were found had no Mods, apart from a few occasional finds
  7. The plans for Light Robot Arms were found in Savage Divide
  8. Better plans for pieces of Power Armor were found in Cranberry Bog and The Mire, with The Mire being slightly more abundant
  9. Raider Power Armor piece plans were found in the Toxic Valley
  10. From scrapping all the armor and weapons that were found, wickedychickady learned a good thirty or so Mods
  11. The locations in Ash Heap were the hardest to find
  12. No Legendary Gear was found
  13. No Scrap Kits or Repair Kits or similar items were found

50 Forest Maps

  • 44 plans (11 of which were for the Single-Action Revolver Ivory Grip)
  • 42 weapons (9 non-standard)
  • 45 armor pieces (9 non-standard)
  • 11 Mods (all for the Barbed Walking Cane)

29 Toxic Valley Maps

  • 31 plans (Raider Power Armor Helmet, Left Arm, Right Leg, and Mods)
  • 47 weapons (13 non-standard)
  • 23 armor pieces (8 non-standard)
  • 5 Mods

14 Ash Heap Maps

  • 16 plans (Excavator Mods, Flamer weapon plan)
  • 12 weapons (4 non-standard)
  • 13 armor pieces (2 non-standard)
  • 2 Mods

122 Savage Divide Maps

  • 129 plans (Light Robot Arms, BoS Combat Armor Legs, and T-45 Chest Piece)
  • 90 weapons (20 non-standard)
  • 109 armor pieces (30 non-standard)
  • 26 Mods

46 Mire Maps

  • 49 plans (War Drum, T-51b Right Arm, T-51b Right Leg, and T-51b Chest Piece)
  • 90 weapons (29 non-standard)
  • 40 armor pieces (9 non-standard)
  • 11 Mods

39 Cranberry Bog Maps

  • 29 plans (T-51b Chest Piece, Marine Tactical Helmet)
  • 72 weapons (20 non-standard)
  • 33 armor pieces (9 non-standard)
  • 13 Mods (Deathclaw Gauntlet Extra Claw)

For the fact that wickedychickady found the Deathclaw Gauntlet Extra Claw Mod alone I would do this. But the beauty of these findings is that I don’t have to, because I know, at least roughly, where I’m going to pick that Mod up. We want to say a big thank you once again to wickedychickady for all the work they put in to Fallout 76, even if it’s just a byproduct of working to improve their own character.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Will Feature a Compass in Multiplayer Instead of a Mini Map

Just yesterday, it was confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer won’t feature a mini map for the first time in COD history. While that might be the case, it seems Infinity Ward has something else in mind to help players know where enemies are coming from, and that’s with the Modern Warfare compass! Yes, the game will employ a compass for use in multiplayer.

Here’s what the Modern Warfare compass will look like in-game (screen grab from leaked footage making its ways around Twitter):

It’s a little hard to make out, but on the top of the screen you can see the compass with the direction listed as you move around.

On another note, Reddit user PotatoA1mz hosted a short Q&A session on reddit, verifying their attendance via photo ID, giving us a brief explanation of how the compass works in Modern Warfare.

The Redditor also mentions how the compass is “all you really need,” and implies that he doesn’t miss mini map at all, a concern that the Call of Duty community have been debating if it was the right choice since it was announced. The mini-map isn’t completely removed though as it’ll still show up, but only when a  UAV killstreak reward is deployed or something similar.

So how do you guys feel about the removal of the mini-map? Do you think it’ll enforce more teamwork or promote camping?

The Division 2 State of the Game Weekly Developer Livestream Will Be Taking a Break

If you’re one of the many The Division 2 players in the world who look forward to Ubisoft Massive’s weekly livestreams called “State of the Game,” you’re in for some bad news today. In today’s State of the Game livestream, Ubisoft Massive has announced that it will be putting the weekly (or almost weekly) livestream on hiatus!

As for when The Division 2 State of the Game will be coming back, there’s no set date yet, but it’s planned to be sometime near the end of August.

Also discussed during today’s livestream is how there will be server maintenance happening this August 1, and a server-side patch will be rolled out to fix some issues as well. Once that patch is out and applied, we’ll let our readers know.

Hitman 3 Announced in Hitman Franchise Documentary

In a recent documentary on the franchise’s history from NoClip, Hitman 3 was revealed to be in development with io Interactive, as well as another entirely new IP. While details on the new Hitman game were sparse, it was indicated that io Interactive would like to revisit the episodic format seen in Hitman 2016.

The reveal for Hitman 3 came during an interview with Hakan Abrak, CEO of io Interactive. Abrak explained how many of the staff at the new Sweden studio were keen to stretch their muscles and build new worlds and universes for gamers to experience. He went on to say that while most of the team is working on new Hitman 2 content, and looking forward to Hitman 3, some are also looking into a brand new IP for the studio. When Abrak briefly touched on Hitman 3, he said that the game may once again go episodic. This is a reference to the original format of the revamped Hitman games, which began with Hitman 2016.

When io Interactive first rebooted the Hitman franchise with Hitman 2016, it launched in episodes, with a new one coming each month for five months. While fans of the game loved this format, because it forced them to squeeze every ounce of content out of a level in anticipation for the next one, it almost led to the closure of io Interactive. In May 2017 Square Enix announced that they would be looking to sell the studio, but eventually the publisher and io Interactive settled on a buyout that allowed them to become independent, keeping hold of the Hitman IP in the process.

The issue with the episodic format of Hitman 2016 was that many players purchased the first episode, but never came back to purchase subsequent ones. Of course those who purchased the season pass technically purchased every episode, but the numbers were too low to make the episodic game viable. Now however, with the continued success of Hitman 2, it sounds like io Interactive might be confident enough in their fan base to take another stab at the episodic format once more.

With a new episode each month, Hitman 2016 was incredibly exciting for players. It was never known what the next episode would bring in terms of the location, targets, or the scale of each level. Hitman 2 still receives monthly updates, but these are far less exciting because they mostly include new contracts within established locations, or new levels for the sniper missions of the game.

Hitman 3 probably won’t be announced until E3 2020 at the earliest. The game will most likely be developed for next generation consoles, though a current generation version may also exist in order to support current Hitman fans, and possibly push them a little to move over to the Playstation 5 and Project Scarlett in Christmas 2020.

World World Z Roadmap Update Reveals Free August Content, In-Game Stats Released

Saber Interactive have revealed the next set of free content that’ll be releasing sometimes next month in a new World War Z roadmap update. Titled “Proving Grounds,” this free content update is set to introduce a number of new goodies, most which will be free. The first and major set of changes is the introduction of a new weekly challenge mode that’ll give players the opportunity to earn challenge coins to spend on the new cosmetics and gear releasing  with this update.

You can see the updated roadmap, which also lists the introduction of paid DLC (confirmed early this month). These paid DLC will not offer any pay to win mechanics and will solely be weapons cosmetics.

Down below is also just some of the expected challenges to appear throughout August.

Map: Moscow, Battle of Nerves
Mutators:
Crossbow Fiesta – All weapons are replaced with crossbows.
Treason – More friendly fire.
Revenge – Players create massive explosions when they die.

Map: Japan, Final Call
Mutators:
I Feel Your Pain – All damage is redirected to one player. When he dies the game is over.
Instadeath – No downed state (you die immediately when you run out of health).
Small Pharma – No Medkits.

Map: New York, Hell and High Water
Mutators:
Cannon Fodder – No special zombies but more common zombies.
Night Time – More zombies in idle state.
Restless Hordes – More frequent zombie waves.

This update will be the last for season 1, with season 2 introducing even more content such as a Horde mode.

In related WWZ news, over the course of the last weeks, Saber have been slowly publishing some in-game stats collected from season 1, revealing various in game details such as most used class, total play time, kills, ect. You can view all the images down below, which we compiled into a single one.

Are you guys excited to jump back into World War Z? I know I am as I have taken a bit of a break from the title, seeing that content was running dry these weekly challenges and new unlocks should no doubt breath some more life into the game. Season 2 is also looking promising with the announcement of horde mode finally arriving whenever the season is do the drop.

For more on World War Z, make sure to check out the Jerusalem glitch tutorials with one helping you save players in chapter 3, while the other helps you complete it in Six Skulls difficulty mode.

EA Explains Their Lack Nintendo Switch Support, Says Consumers Play More on Other Platforms

EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson explains the process of selection when they look into bringing a title over to a new platform along with why they haven’t been supporting the Nintendo Switch as much as some would like them to.

During the EA quarterly conference call, Andrew Wilson was asked about whether or not we would see the Sim 4 on the Switch, in which he stated that they aren’t ruling it out followed by an explanation of the process of deciding whether or not they should port games to a platform.

Any time we’re evaluating platform conversations, we are really looking at a couple of things. One, does the game really fit the profile of that platform in terms of the control or the community ecosystem? Two, do we think the community playing on that platform would appreciate the game to go there? Or would they prefer to play it somewhere else?

We have a lot of data that would suggest a great many Switch owners also own a PlayStation 4 or an Xbox One or a PC and very often choose to play the games that we make on those platforms even though they have a Switch and they enjoy a lot of great content on the Switch. And so there’s always an evaluation process that goes on a case-by-case basis. And I wouldn’t say that The Sims would never go to the Switch, but I think we’re doing really, really well attracting Sims players. As we said, we did the promotion in the last couple of months and brought in 7 million new Sims players that we expect will engage in that community on a platform that is really tailored to user-generated content, creativity and customization.

EA has, for some time, since the launch of the Switch given the console some support, such as FIFA and a few other titles, though a large chunk of their franchises are as of yet aren’t available on the Switch. Whether you’re a fan of EA or not, it could be viewed as a positive or negative. Personally, I would be down for some of EA’s older titles to be ported over versus the new stuff. Although Apex Legends would be pretty awesome to play in the Switch, though that could possibly come with the mobile version that’s mentioned to release fiscal year 2021.

Anthem New Armor Sets, Vinyls, and Materials Uncovered via Dataming

A user on the game’s subreddit has posted a list of new armor sets, vinyls, and materials which were uncovered in an Anthem datamine. The post includes images of the upcoming content, all of which has been sourced from the latest update to the public test server (PTS), which was shutdown earlier this week.

Everything in this datamine should be coming to the core game of Anthem when the Cataclysm update drops in the future. The PTS hosted the very latest version of Anthem with the Cataclysm live event, and therefore should be an accurate reflection of what’s coming to Anthem in the future. We’ve split the datamine into three categories below, check out all of the new items coming to the game in the rest of this post.

Armor Sets

You might notice that a lot of these armor sets are themed around crystals. I suspect that has something to do with the fact that crystals are a big focus in the Cataclysm, and they’re even present in the core game of Anthem right now.

Vinyls

These Vinyls share a similar crystal-theme in terms of naming and looks. BioWare is definitely doubling down on the Cataclysm with these items, which should make them more appealing to collectors.

Responsible Gambling and Self Exclusion: How to Play Responsibly

Casino players differ in how gamblers should play responsibly. You probably have some ideas of how to best play with accountability. But what’s the right way to do it?

Plan your day to avoid boredom

If you gamble to kill boredom, but it’s becoming a problem, find new hobbies. Start by creating a schedule to account for all hours of the day. You also want to find alternative things you can do during those times you love to place bets.

Research also agrees with the idea of planning for everything you do. When you’re occupied with something you love, your thirst for gambling reduces dramatically. Take this sports fan, for example. In a Reddit thread, the 22-year-old says gaming is the first thing that comes to mind when he’s bored.

Most gamblers feel the same way. But if you want to play responsibly, you must find ways to avoid boredom in the first place. Scheduling your daily activities can help you account for everything you do and also help you reduce your free time.

Consider Self-Exclusion

In the UK, Sweden, and several other countries, it’s now possible to self-exclude yourself from online casinos temporarily. This is a useful idea for people that only want to quit gambling for a while as they sort out their lives.

Gamstop, for example, authorizes UK-based casinos to blacklist your personal information for six to five years. During that period, you can’t access your gambling accounts or create new ones. Participating casinos are also prohibited from sending promotional emails to you.

Although Gamstop won’t let you gamble during your self-exclusion period, there is a list of casinos not on Gamstop where you could bet. This, obviously, has its drawbacks—like relapsing. But if you consciously decide to play again before your time on Gamstop is done, there are lots of casino options for you.

Keep a Budget

In gambling, you can’t afford to play without a budget. With all the beautiful technology-driven games out there, it’s easy to get tempted to wager more than you can afford. This happens a lot when you lose, sometimes even when on a losing streak. You think because you’ve lost severally, you must somehow win.

Without a budget, you can drain your bankroll on the same night. But when you have a budget, you’ll know when to stop playing. You can utilize multiple gambling strategies if that helps increase your bottom line. And at the end of it all, you’ll have your finances in order.

Reignite an Old Hobby

What’s the one hobby you always wish you could rekindle? Maybe you loved to play football in your free time. Enroll for a local club if you have the strength and will to do it. If you were once a band member, find your favorite instrument and reignite your hobby.

It’s easier to slow down on gambling when you have an alternative hobby you love. The problem worsens if you try to replace it with something you don’t like. Casino games are robustly stimulating. If you have to replace their lure, do it something equally thrilling to you.

Learn how to Manage your Emotions

Emotions like stress and anxiety are stimulants. When you’re stressed, your sensory system signals you to manage your problems by doing what you love. This could, in turn, lead to compulsive gambling, which can be damaging to your health or financial wellbeing.

The best way to manage stress is to avoid it. If the cause is something unavoidable, find a way to contain it without resulting in excessive gaming. With work-related stress, for example, find a hobby that relaxes your mind. With anxiety, you have to avoid everything that causes it.

Focus on Today

It’s not easy to forget about yesterday’s losses, at least not when they are significant. You’ll keep remembering how much you lost. You could also feel a desire to play some more, hoping to recover the amount you lost. But you probably know how the cycle rolls out.

When it’s not your lucky day or week, gambling compulsively won’t necessarily help you make profits. As such, it’s essential to live life like yesterday or tomorrow never existed. Don’t fuss over your past losses, especially when you have a budget that guides you.

Get Help

As they say, it’s never too late to get help when you need it. No one will judge you for attempting to become a better human being. Better yet, nothing should matter more than ensuring you overcome the throws of gaming addiction.

To Conclude

People are learning that there’s nothing shameful in trying to recover from gambling addiction. At the same time, there’s more effort to encourage players to become more responsible. At an individual level, there are several things you can do to keep your gaming hobby manageable.

Make plans for everything you do and only dedicate a few minutes for casino games. If it becomes an addiction, use the tips shared above to manage it.

Apex Legends Mobile: EA “Assumes” It’s a Fiscal Year 2021 Launch

While we already reported back in May that EA was planning on bringing Apex Legends to mobile devices and in turn, to China’s large gaming audience, it seems that’s not going to be out anytime soon. During the publisher’s earnings call today, EA gave an update on Apex Legends mobile, and the game’s eventual release in China.

During the Q&A portion of the call, Michael Hickey from Benchmark asked the following:

Michael Hickey (Benchmark): I guess on Apex, I’ve got a ton of questions. I’ll try to limit it to a couple. But I was hopeful — I mean, given the sort of profile of the game, the competitive aspects of it, esports is sort of a no-brainer. It’s great to see you guys start to move forward to your first, I guess, state of mind in September, but maybe some more color in terms of how big esports could be in terms of driving engagement, monetization and maybe overall player feel for Apex. And then, I guess, just another add-on, mobile in China, is this still a possibility in ’20? Or is this more of a fiscal ’21 event now in terms of expanding insulated opportunities [indiscernible]?

Blake Jorgensen, EA Chief Financial Officer confirmed that they’re still working with a partner on Apex Legends mobile, and that no specific timing has been made for either Apex Legends mobile, or its release in China.

Blake Jorgensen (EA CFO):We did not put anything in our annual guidance for either mobile globally for Apex in China and that’s because we are still obviously working with a partner but we don’t have timing set up, but I would assume it’s a ’21 event in both cases. We’ll give you more knowledge or more input as the quarters go on this year as to how that timing will evolve, but right now, I would assume nothing in ’20.

Note that this doesn’t mean that Apex Legends mobile will not be released until sometime in 2021, but rather, sometime in EA’s fiscal year 2021, which starts May 2020.

Given how Apex Legends still manages to get 8-10 million players per week even if it’s not available on mobile devices, EA might just be raking in the moolah once Respawn’s free-to-play battle royale game gets released on mobile platforms and in China.

EA: Apex Legends Gets 8-10 Million Players Per Week, “10-Year Run” Planned

It’s no secret that Apex Legends has been a huge success for publisher EA, and while the game might not be as talked about as much compared to when it launched, it seems it’s still doing good business for the publisher. In EA’s Q1 2020 earnings call, EA gave an update on the Apex Legends weekly player numbers, and it’s still quite significant.

During the Q&A portion of the call, Colin Sebastian from Baird, asked, “(on Apex) I was wondering more specifically what you see in reengagement with some of the early players in terms of what has drawn them back into the game? ”

Responding to the question was none other than Andrew Wilson, EA CEO, who mentioned that Apex Legends gets 8-10 million players on a week-by-week basis.

Andrew Wilson:Yes. I would just come back to the comments that Blake just shared. And we have between 8 million to 10 million people engaging in this game on a week-by-week basis. That is large by any measure. It makes it one of the — probably the most engaging games. We have continued to see great fan sentiment inside that game. And we expect to continue to grow that audience over time. Again, when we think about Apex Legends, we set out to build something with longevity. And at the very core is a great gameplay experience. And we know that long-term engagement involves the ongoing release of new content and the ongoing running of events, both of which the team at Respawn are doing with great success, but the very core of that is a great gameplay experience. And we’re building this in a way that we expect to continue to grow and continue to be a meaningful part of our business for a long time to come. And the sign of engagement that we see today lead us to believe that’s possible.

With those impressive numbers, EA must surely be thinking of supporting Apex Legends for long time, right? Yes, indeed they will, with EA CFO Blake Jorgensen mentioning how they have a 10-year plan for the title “or even more.”

Blake Jorgensen: Yes. We think about this as almost like an annual title. We will continue to innovate that game and evolve that game over time and hope to believe — I believe that we have a 10 year run ahead of us or if not more. There’s so much potential and ways to change that game over time and add to that game. We think that there’s just huge potential in that and that’s how we’re managing it.

If this rings true, then this means Apex Legends will most likely make the jump to next-gen (PS5, Project Scarlett), which is to be expected given how the next-gen platforms have been confirmed to be backwards compatible.

Do you think Apex Legends can last for 10 years or more? And are you surprised that there’s that many people playing the game per week or is it to be expected given it’s a free-to-play title?
