PUBG Xbox Roadmap Details Further Optimizations, New Content and More

The PUBG Xbox roadmap for spring 2018 has finally been revealed, and it includes the PUBG Xbox Miramar release date (hurray!). During spring, Bluehole will be focusing on “delivering the best PUBG console experience possible.” Players can expect “meaningful improvements to optimizations, new content additions, compelling reasons to play, and refinements to the overall console experience.”

The full PUBG Xbox roadmap can be found below. It’s long, and goes into a lot of detail, but I think that’s what Xbox players want! Prepare for information overload, and the Xbox Miramar release date!

PUBG Xbox Roadmap Spring 2018:

PUBG Xbox Roadmap: Continued performance optimizations:

o put it bluntly, we are simply not satisfied with the games current console performance, and especially so during tense moments of onscreen action. We have found some immediate opportunity to increase framerate through changes to Erangel’s building materials, as well as some reduction to in-game foliage composition. Until we are completely satisfied in the quality and reliability of the experience, efforts to optimize performance will be an ongoing hi-priority issue. Here are some of the specific technical areas we have made changes:

– Optimized game characters and their movements

– Optimized the number of particle effects that are spawned by vehicles and grenades

– Optimized object collision complexity

– Balanced the game work across all CPU cores to reduce streaming hitches when moving

PUBG Xbox Roadmap

PUBG Xbox Roadmap: UI optimizations:

Our goal is that PUBG stands up well when compared to other games in your collection, and this comparison begins the second you boot up the game. HDR and Safe Zone options, the quality of the individual assets, the speed at which they load and how they react to your selection are all things we will improve upon as we move towards creating a premium and higher quality experience.

PUBG Xbox Roadmap: Improve Inventory UX:

We receive a ton of feedback around the usability of the title, particularly when it comes to navigating the inventory UI. PUBG is a complicated game to control, and when you factor the risk versus reward of inventory management in high pressure situations, the interface must be intuitive and responsive. We are working towards that goal, and we have some changes coming that we hope will allow players to action the decisions they want to make, faster.

PUBG Xbox Roadmap: Improvements to Console Controller Options:

We will be providing additional preset configurations to choose from as well as exposing a wider set of aiming options, providing players more freedom to create a controller experience that feels satisfying and empowering.

PUBG Xbox Roadmap: Improvements to game matchmaking:

To support a fair and competitive environment, we plan to further improve matchmaking for Duo and Squad modes.

PUBG Xbox Roadmap: Console Player Reporting Features:

We are hoping to streamline reporting by adding in-game tools that will empower players to more quickly submit instances of unsporting behavior (Solo Teaming, Team Killing etc).

PUBG Xbox Roadmap: Updates to Vehicle Penetration:

To promote a greater sense of realism, we will be applying bullet penetration to our vehicle system. Our current model can be viewed as a vehicles body having a life bar that must be reduced before the driver can be damaged. When our update is released, players that are skillful with their shots, can pierce vehicle doors and panels, damaging enemy players and ensuring that threat is constant even for those behind the wheel.

PUBG Xbox Roadmap: Game Highlights:

We want players to easily capture and share in-game actions of interest, so we have integrated Game Highlights functionality on Xbox.

PUBG Xbox Roadmap: Achievements:

We have some great ideas for those players that like an added challenge, and we will be rolling out our achievement criteria as part of our roadmap.

PUBG Xbox Roadmap: Sound:

We’re going to continue improvements to audio quality and directional sound.

PUBG Xbox Roadmap: Customization:

We will add in-game Player Customization Options, emotes and more. We want to offer a wide range of options for you to customize your character in style.

PUBG Xbox Roadmap: Test server:

In advance of major upcoming patch releases, we will be making available to players a separate PUBG Xbox Download client. There, players can participate in our latest content updates before they are moved to “Live”.

Miramar is coming to Xbox early spring!!!

Is this too little, too late? Or is this a great update for those limited to playing on Xbox? Let us know.

In other PUBG news, NFL Star JJ Watt provoked a Twitter battle between the game and Fortnite, sales are now at over 30 million but player numbers are dropping, and the roadmap for PC 2018 content has been revealed.

PS4 5.50 Issues With Various Controllers Crop Up After Latest Update

Just yesterday, Sony released a new system update for the PlayStation 4 that added supersampling, a more robust parental control feature set and more. While the firmware update is greatly appreciated by gamers (like me), it seems there are some PS4 5.50 issues that came with it as well.

According to numerous users on the r/PS4 community on Reddit and even on the official Sony PlayStation forums, PS4 controllers (arcade sticks, wired, wireless, etc.) are now having issues with the console.

Reddit user neon-arcadia posted the following message which got a few people chiming in.

PS4 Update 5.50 Seems to Have a Controller Issue
byu/neon-arcadia inPS4

PlayStation forum members have posted the following as well:

In case the images aren’t loading, here’s some of the complaints so far.

I have the same problem controller suddenly stops working. None of the buttons work. Worked perfectly before system update. Haven’t figured a solution for this yet…

Literally having the same problem thought i was going crazy, the controller is like a month old and i did the whole hold the reset button and what not still happens….

My controller randomly is unresponsive after a few minutes. I have not experienced this before until downloading the newest PS4 update. Is anyone else experiencing this or know how to fix it? Controller model is CUH-ZCT1U.

There’s a lot more of that here, and here.

Unfortunately, it seems resetting the console doesn’t work. Not everyone is affected, so updating your console doesn’t automatically mean you’ll experience it. Let’s hope Sony fixes it soon.

If you’re experiencing this and found a workaround/fix, hit us up via email (tips@mp1st.com).

More Destiny 2 1.1.4 Update Details: Big Changes to Sandbox and Crucible

Bungie has offered another patch notes preview for the upcoming Destiny 2 1.1.4 update, which promises big changes to both Crucible and the Sandbox.

Here are the new and updated changes coming in the Destiny 2 1.1.4 update:

Destiny 2 1.1.4 Update: Crucible Changes

Respawn and Revive were tuned in all game modes

  • Player respawn timers for all Quickplay modes have been reduced to 2s.
  • Player respawn timers for Survival have been reduced to 7s
  • Revive lockout time in Countdown has been reduced to 7s
  • Players no longer lose Revive Tokens on death

Power Ammo respawn timers were adjusted across the board

  • Power Ammo respawn timers in Iron Banner have been reduced ~50%
  • Power Ammo respawn timers for all Quickplay modes have been reduced ~30%.
  • Power Ammo respawn timers in Survival have been reduced ~40%.
  • Power Ammo respawn timers in Countdown have been reduced ~25%

Ammo counts have been adjusted in relation to these timers, and in relation to weapon type.

  • In almost all cases weapons either retained the same ammo count or received a buff. Swords and rockets were brought down to stay in line with the rest of the weapon offering.

Enemy players now drop their Power Ammo on death.

  • This brick is now networked to all players regardless of faction. Secure the power ammo to keep it from your foes or steal off your enemy’s ghost, but be quick because these bricks don’t stay in the world forever.

Destiny 2 1.1.4 Update: Sandbox Changes

All three glides plus Catapult and Strafe Lift have been retuned and buffed to make them faster and more unique.

The mobility stat range has been expanded and completely retuned as well. In short, everyone gets faster and the high end is higher.

The players’ ground speed cap has been increased, allowing for faster total movement speed, regardless of how you may get there.

Arcstrider, Sentinel, and Striker all move faster, and at the same speed as one another, while in their Supers.

Arcstrider, as a whole, is performing well in PvP but mostly due to its neutral game perks. We’ve made the following changes in an effort to get the Super to be a more competitive option:

  • Faster Attack Animations.
  • Faster Dodge Animations.
  • Increased range of all attacks.

The previous Shoulder Charge changes are being reverted, allowing Shoulder Charge to be used as a movement mode once again.

Dawnblade has been improved:

  • Reduced cost for throwing swords, allowing for one additional throw
  • Increased super duration extension gained from “Everlasting Fire”
  • Removed all in-air accuracy penalties while “Swift Strike” is active
  • Reduced the Icarus Dash cooldown
  • Increased the Grenade and Melee energy “Heat Rises” gives you per kill

Invisibility on Dodge / Smoke Updates:

  • Invisibility on Dodge no longer breaks Aim Assist or Projectile Tracking in PvP (unchanged in PvE)
  • Dodging still breaks both Aim Assist and Projectile Tracking, but only for the duration of the actual dodge
  • Increased the duration of Invisibility on Dodge by 1 second
  • Increased the duration of Smoke Bomb Invisibility by 1 second

Supers recharge faster for everyone!

  • Supers now recharge 1:40 faster, a cooldown reduction of 25%.

Mods that reduce Grenade, Melee and Class Ability cooldowns have been buffed to allow for up to 2x faster cooldowns.

  • This is NOT replacing Mods 2.0, which was recently delayed. More information is available below.

We’ve buffed several weapon archetypes (including, but not limited to, Hand Cannons, Pulse Rifles, Sniper Rifles, and Shotguns) and a few specific perks, as well. A key goal here is to make Shotguns, Snipers, and Fusion rifles more prevalent in the game.

Pulse Rifles

  • Increased PvE damage for all pulses
  • Increased rate of fire for adaptive and high-impact pulses
  • Increased base damage for adaptive, high-impact, and rapid-fire Pulses
  • Increased precision multiplier for lightweight pulses
  • Decreased precision multiplier for adaptive pulses
  • This keeps precision damage close to where it is now, putting most of the buff into body shots, though it is still an increase in precision damage overall.

Scout Rifles

  • Increased PvE damage for all scouts
  • Increased base damage for High-Impact Scouts

Hand Cannon

  • Increased PvE damage for all Hand Cannons
  • Increased precision multiplier for precision hand cannons
  • Increased hip fire accuracy on consoles
  • Increased ADS accuracy on consoles

Sidearms

  • Increased PvE damage for all sidearms
  • Increased hip fire accuracy
  • Increased ADS accuracy
  • Increased inventory size (allowing more reserve ammo to be stored)
  • Increased minimum range
  • Added an ADS movement bonus

SMG

  • Increased PvE damage for all SMG’s
  • Set Optics to 1.3x
  • Increased inventory size (allowing more reserve ammo to be stored)

Linear Fusion Rifle

  • Increased PvE damage for all linear fusions
  • Increased precision multiplier
  • Increased aim assist
  • Reduced flinch multiplier

Shotgun

  • Increased PvE damage for all shotguns
  • Increased inventory size (allowing more reserve ammo to be stored)
  • Increased aim assist for Suros precision shotguns

Sniper Rifle

  • Increased PvE damage for all snipers
  • Increased precision multiplier
  • Increased aim assist
  • Increased inventory size (allowing more reserve ammo to be stored)

Grenade Launcher

  • Increased blast radius

Assault Rifles

  • Decreased range and aim assist stats for precision autos (Uriel’s Gift). Base damage is not changed.

A few weapon perks are also getting some updates:

High Impact Reserves

  • Increased PvE damage

Kill Clip

  • Increased PvE damage

Rampage

  • Increased PvE damage
  • Increased duration

Dragonfly

  • Increased damage
  • Increased radius
  • Stronger visual effects

Grave Robber

  • Reloads .5 magazine instead of .3

Timed Payload

  • Splits damage 55 Explosive / 45 Direct instead of previous split which was more direct damage

Explosive Rounds

  • Decreased PvE Explosive Rounds damage
  • This decrease has been compensated for with an increase in PvE damage for the base weapons – your weapons with explosive rounds will not do less damage after 1.1.4

Bungie also mentioned changes coming to mods, the invisibility mechanics, and snipers. Give the full “This Week at Bungie” blog post a read here.

In other Destiny 2 news, several top Destiny YouTubers have lessened their support of the game, Bungie is hiring a new community manager, and the developer explains the faction rewards throttle and incoming adjustments. It also appears that the Destiny 2 Gods of Mars expansion has leaked (again)!

Rainbow Six Siege Concurrent Players Reach All-Time High, Missing R6 Credits Issue Recognized by Ubisoft

Given how most games flame out after just a year from release, it’s definitely surprising how well Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege has managed to maintain — and even gain — its momentum. Interestingly enough, the Rainbow Six Siege concurrent players count have now reached an all-time high, even! Yes, close to three years after release!

According to SteamCharts, Rainbow Six Siege has now reached a new all-time high peak of over 176,000 concurrent players yesterday! Reddit user Trogadorr summed it up quite nicely.

Worth noting:

  • In March 2017 the average player count was 47,000, meaning the new player count is almost four times as many players as last year.
  • In March 2016 the average player count was 30,000, meaning a new player count of just over five times as two years ago.
  • At launch in December 2016 when you would expect the game’s highest player numbers, the average player count was just 20,000, meaning an eight times increase in maximum player count.

Note that this Rainbow Six Siege player count total is only for Steam, and doesn’t include the users playing via UPlay, which makes it even more impressive.

Additionally, Ubisoft posted an announcement addressing the missing R6 Credits after the deployment of the Operation Chimera content.

We are aware that some of you are still missing R6 Credits after the deployment of Operation Chimera. If you are impacted, please open a ticket with Support. You will need to include your proof of purchase. Thisarticle has steps for how you can locate your proof of purchase, and then submit it.

Don’t forget to check out the latest changes and additions in the Rainbow Six Siege patch that got rolled out yesterday with the “Outbreak” event.

Monster Hunter World Deviljho Gameplay to Be Shown Off Next Week, “Free Large Update” to Be Discussed

Just yesterday, we posted that Capcom will be holding a special broadcast regarding Monster Hunter World next week. Well, now, we now know just what will be shown off, and that’s our first official look at some Monster Hunter World Deviljho gameplay!

This was announced by the Japanese Monster Hunter World Twitter account today, where it also mentioned a “free large update.”

Translated, it reads as:

Monster Hunter: World Special Live in 2018 Spring Wednesday, March 14 at 8:00 p.m. Introduction and introduced with the actual play of the additional monster [Ibirujo] that is the centerpiece of the “free large update First”, and send a lot of the latest information of other games not to be missed!

Obviously, the translation is a little bit muddy but still understandable in its overall gist, which is: Capcom will be talking about the first, free large update for Monster Hunter World, where the Deviljho gameplay reveal will be the centerpiece.

Mark your calendars and set reminders, slayers! March 14, 8 p.m. Japan Time (6 a.m. ET), will be Deviljho time! If you can’t make it, MP1st will be summarizing the news to make sure our Monster Hunter World readers stay up to date.

PUBG Roadmap 2018 Details New Smaller Map, Emotes & More

The eponymous hero of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has finally shared details on the PUBG Roadmap 2018, which includes an upcoming smaller map, emote system, and more.

For 2018, the developers are planning to release “major content” every two months, the first of which is coming this month. These major content drops will “bring changes to specific systems and/or introduce new content.” Players can also expect to see “smaller updates between the major ones,” which “will also continue throughout the year.”

PUBG Roadmap 2018 highlights include a new, 4x4km island map, which will be available on the Experimental Test Server next month. This will be a much smaller map, and make for “higher player density” and “shorter matches.”

PUBG Roadmap 2018

Next, there’s a new PUBG Emote System in the works. This will be available to trial soon on the game’s Test Server.

PlayerUnknown has also mentioned that he’s helping the game design team to plan some “new and interesting game modes.” He doesn’t mention any specifics, but yeah, expect new modes to come at some point.

New vehicles are planned for the first half of the year, and new weapon sets and attachments should also make it into the game in 2018.

Here’s a look at a new PUBG weapon that’s coming soon:

PUBG Roadmap 2018

If the new smaller map didn’t impress you, then perhaps the new 8x8km map will! We’re not told much about this, only that it will also be coming to the Experiment Test Server, which will let eager players try it out early.

PUBG Corp. has also begun testing Achievements, in-game friends lists, and squad voice chat in the main menu.

In 2018, the entire TPP and FPP animation systems will be overhauled. The plan is to “make them smoother and more reactive to the environment.” PlayerUnknown actually goes into detail on this, saying, “This will include animations for getting inside vehicles and changing seats while in the vehicle. We also want to improve how the character moves to allow our 3D replay to deliver some truly great content.”

There’s also an overhaul planned for the parachuting system, which will make it “more responsive and polish the overall look of the animations.”

Armed and unarmed melee combat systems are also being looked at.

That’s it for the highlights. For the full PUBG Roadmap 2018, click through here.

In other PUBG news, NFL Star JJ Watt provoked a Twitter battle between the game and Fortnite, sales are now at over 30 million but player numbers are dropping, and the roadmap for 2018 content will be shared “soon.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII Release Date Officially Announced, Reveal Set for May 17

In what’s probably the worst kept video game secret of the year so far, Activision has finally confirmed and announced Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII! Yes, it’s really written that way. No, don’t ask us why. What’s more, the publisher has announced the Black Ops 4 release date is set for October 12 (Friday) on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC!

Longtime fans will notice that it’s not set for release in the first week of November, as has been the franchise’s schedule in years past.

Activision has announced that this year’s Call of Duty game will officially be revealed on May 17 by developer Treyarch, with earlier leaks stating that it’ll focus on boots-on-the-ground gameplay. There’s a Twitch stream of the logo unveiling that went live just now, that showed a rather lenghty video of someone cutting the metal to show “IIII” which is the game’s logo.

The official Call of Duty Twitter also released a short video teasing the game as well.

Here’s the YouTube version of the teaser which will no doubt be dissected by fans soon.

Once more info becomes available, we’ll be sure to let our readers know. We’ll be on the lookout for every bit of leaked info, and other sort of legitimate leads.

EA Servers Down for Battlefield 1 and Other Games, EA Aware and Investigating (Update)

Update:

Unfortunately, the issues are still not resolved. Over on Twitter the EA Help account mentioned that not all services are restored.

We’ll continue to update the post as more info becomes available.

Original Story:

Are you trying to play Battlefield 1 now or some other EA-published game? If you can’t connect, it’s not you, but rather, there’s an EA servers down issue happening, and it’s affecting all of EA’s games!

Numerous users on the Battlefield subreddit have started threads asking if EA is down for the game, and even for Star Wars Battlefront II. Just a few minutes ago, the official EA Help Twitter account has confirmed that connectivity issues are indeed happening to their titles, and they’re investigating it as we speak.

You can check here to see if your preferred EA-published game is experiencing difficulties in connecting online. Once EA updates the situation, we’ll update the post.

While you’re waiting to connect to Battlefield 1 servers, you might want to read up on this massive (purported) Battlefield 2018 info leak.

The Division 2 Confirmed, Full Reveal at E3 2018

As if there was ever any doubt on its existence, Ubisoft has now announced The Division 2! No official gameplay footage so far, but we do get a few snippets of info about The Division, an in-game event for The Division 2 happening in June 2018 and more!

Here’s a quick snippet of the logo:

Check out the full press release below.

Today, we have an important announcement from the development team of Tom Clancy’s The Division for you.

The past few years have been incredible for the team here at Massive! When we started working on The Division, it was immediately clear to us that we had something very special here and something we really wanted to do right from the start. But we also knew that we would not be able to achieve this ambitious goal without your help.

Since the release of The Division 2 years ago, we have remained true to this philosophy. We have repeatedly used opportunities to interact with you. Be it via livestreams, polls or just social media. Also, the introduction of the Public Test Server was a way to immediately get feedback from you before we implement new extensive features or make changes to the game. We’ve never stopped striving to make The Division even better, and our recent update 1.8 is testimony to how we can see your overwhelming feedback and support.

All these new opportunities and experiences have also improved the team’s internal processes. We have become quicker and can thus respond better to your feedback. But our vision of what matters to us and what makes The Division so memorable for so many people has never been clearer.

However, when we released our game in 2016, it was clear to us that it was just the opening chapter of a much bigger saga, so we’re excited to share more with you today about what awaits you in The Division Universe next.

We are very pleased to announce that we are currently working on Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 . The development is led by Massive Entertainment and driven by close collaboration with Ubisoft Annecy, Redstorm, Reflections, Ubisoft Bucharest and Ubisoft Shanghai. The Division 2 will be based on an updated version of the Snowdrop Engine that will help us realize our ambitions for this title. More importantly, we can also invest all the experience we’ve accumulated over the past two years in this sequel to make sure everything is going well.

But that is not all. The division continues. After the celebrations of our 2 year anniversary, we will support the game with 2 more title updates. These will be 2 brand new Global Events; Include more Legendary difficulty missions and an Xbox One X update that will rediscover the beautiful and emblematic New York City with all its stunning details in both 4K and 1080p.

In addition, as of June 2018, players will also be able to play ‘Crests’, which are specific achievements that will allow them to unlock The Division 2 rewards.

The teams are extremely grateful for all the support over the past two years and we can not wait to show you what we have planned for The Division 2 during the E3 2018 in June.

– Julian Gerighty, Creative Director, Massive Entertainment

The tl;dr version is: The Division 2 is confirmed to be in development, and it will be shown off at this year’s E3 in June, there are two more title updates for The Division, and in June 2018, players will be able to play “Crests” which are specific achievements that will allow participants to unlock The Division 2 rewards.

Given the countless hours I’ve spent in The Division, and how much care and support Ubisoft Massive has done for the title after launch, color me very excited for The Division 2! Let’s hope it gets released soon, and not after a year or so.

Fortnite Matchmaking Disabled: Why Matchmaking Has Been Temporarily Disabled Fortnite

The Fortnite matchmaking disabled error messages are a common issue that players run into, with many wondering why matchmaking has been temporarily disabled. If you don’t keep up with the lastest Fortnite news, sudden Fortnite downtime can come as a big surprise. Here’s what you need to know about the Fortnite matchmaking disabled issues.

Fortnite Matchmaking Disabled: Why Matchmaking Has Been Temporarily Disabled

If you’re seeing the Fortnite matchmaking disabled message, and want to know why matchmaking has been temporarily disabled, the first place you will want to go, is to the Fortnite social media accounts. Following @FortniteGame on Twitter is my own personal way of knowing when downtime is scheduled.

While it would be preferable for Epic Games to warn players with in-game messages before downtime occurs, that isn’t how things work right now. Keep an eye on official social media channels, or better yet, visit MP1st regularly, as we often report on big updates and periods of downtime!

Fortnite Matchmaking Disabled

Fortnite Matchmaking Disabled: How to Fix This Error

If the Fortnite matchmaking disabled error message is occurring during a period of downtime, I’m afraid the only fix is to wait patiently. Once Epic Games has made the required changes or fixes, servers will be brought back online, and players will be able to start fighting once again.

If you’re seeing the Fortnite matchmaking disabled error message when maintenance hasn’t been announced, try rebooting the game and seeing if that solves the issue. Failing that, turn your console or PC off entirely, and then turn it on again, before booting up Fortnite. If all of this fails, you’ll want to contact the Epic Games support team here.

In other Fortnite news, it has become the most watched and most streamed game on Twitch, the Flippin’ Sexy emote is driving players wild, and a future update will bridge the Battle Royale and Save the World controls.
