Rainbow Six Siege Clash Exploit Bounty Is a Unique Way to Test Fixes

For multiplayer players, nothing can be more annoying than having to deal with players abusing a known exploit. Unfortunately though, that was something Rainbow Six Siege players had to deal with when going up against Clash, as there was a Rainbow Six Siege Clash exploit that was annoying the hell out of gamers.

For those curious, here’s a look at how it works:

While Ubisoft has already plugged that hole, Ubisoft Montreal ain’t done just yet. Just to make sure they’ve properly fixed it, they are doing a limited time event Rainbow Six Siege Clash exploit bounty! The studio is offering a bounty for new reports of exploits pertaining to Clash’s shield, and you’ll even get a reward!

Rules:
  • Bug reported on R6fix.ubi.com

  • Clash shield related exploits only.

  • Bug must be new to R6Fix – No duplicates

  • Report need to have full step by step description AND video proof. No video = Disqualified

  • Bug needs to be Acknowledged (a manual step carried out by the dev team)

  • Only today’s TS update and newer will be valid – Videos need to contain a clearly visible version ID (they are watermarked by default when playing on the TS)

  • The hunt will be open until Tuesday, March 3rd

Here’s a look at the Frost Raptor Leg charm! If you already have it, Ubisoft says they have an “additional surprise” waiting.

Not a bad way to let players test the game for you, no?

In other Rainbow Six Siege news, Operation Void Edge is now live in the Test Servers, and here’s the patch notes for the changes made in it.

Battlefield 5 6.2 Patch Weapon Changes Detailed by DICE

With DICE announcing that Battlefield 5 patch 6.2 will most likely be released next week, the big news here is the weapon adjustments the studio will make that will affect the time-to-kill (TTK). Toady, DICE has announced the Battlefield 5 6.2 patch weapon changes!

In the latest Community Broadcast, DICE Community Manager Jeff Braddock outlined the Battlefield 5 6.2 patch weapon changes in detail. Check out the in-depth explanation below.

Battlefield 5 6.2 patch weapon changes explanation:

We will continue to operate a damage model that ensures that weapons that are designed to be lethal in close quarters will still do less damage beyond 30M than experienced in 5.0, however we’re making adjustments to the damage curves to ensure that the damage drop off doesn’t feel as instant or severe. Weapons that should be more effective at range such as the Semi Auto Rifles and Pistol Carbines will have their damage drop offs extended, ensuring that they regain a purpose closer to their design and perform significantly better at range. Similar changes are also being made across MG’s and AR’s. (Source)

What did we adjust?

Update 6.2 returns the base damage at range values of most weapons to those of 5.0 while maintaining a drop in ranged damage that is smaller than 5.2 or 5.2.2.

Example:

5.0 Values5.2 / 5.2.2 Vaues 5.2 / 5.2.2 Vaues 6.2 Values
FG-42 – 4-6 BTK FG-42 – 5-13 BTK FG-42 – 4-7 BTK

According to DICE, ranged damage is now based on weapon class rather than rate of fire. One example is how Assault Rifles and LMGs (light machineguns) will hit harder at range than SMGs (sub machine guns) with the equivalent rate of fire. Both recoil and accuracy values have been adjusted to be consistent with the values in patch 6.0, with the only exception being the Type 2A, which has gotten a substantial increase in recoil to balance it with the other SMGs.

Bolt Action Rifles have also gotten a buff, as it now will have higher muzzle velocities across the board. According to DICE, ” These weapons are Battlefield’s longest range weapons, and are out performed by other weapons due to the bullet velocity. This adjustment will return Bolt Action Rifles to be the kings of long and very long range combat.”

The Type 11 muzzle velocity has slightly been increased for both default and High Velocity bullets, which should help make the Typ 11 stand out from the Bren.

Summarizing it all up, DICE stats that their goal is “to keep a high pace in close combat and to have a lower, but satisfying pace at distance.”

Are you happy with the upcoming weapon changes or should they just revert everything back to what it was before?

Apex Legends Next Event Announced – “System Override Collection Event” Details Revealed

Apex Legends is once again getting a new event and it starts this March 3! Respawn Entertainment has announced the Apex Legends System Override Collection event, and we have the complete details for the Apex Legends next event!

Apex Legends Sysmte Override Collection event schedule – March 3 to 17.

Here’s the summary:

What’s in the System Override Event:

  • Limited Time Mode – Deja Loot
    • Featuring for a limited-time the return of Kings Canyon debut of a new equipment type: Evo Shield
    • The first week will be played on World’s Edge and the second week we’ll go back to Kings Canyon
  • Exclusive Event Prize Track with two Legendary Weapon skins
  • 24 Event Limited premium cosmetic available directly or through System Override Event Packs
  • Octane Heirloom Set Preview
    • Unlock all 24 System Override cosmetics during the event and unlock the Octane Heirloom set for free

Possibly the most interesting thing out of the event is the introduction of a new equipment called the Evo Shield, which becomes stronger as you damage players!

Debut of New Equipment – Evo Shield

As part of the Deja Loot limited-time mode we’ll be debuting a new equipment type: the Evo Shield. When you pick up Evo Shield it will start out weaker than a Common Body Shield (White), but as you do damage to non-downed players throughout the match it can become even stronger than Epic Body Shields (Purple). Evo Shields change color as they progress, but their perpetual distinctive glow will help you identify them. Progress also carries over from person to person, so look forward to some interesting late game scenarios.

To start the Evo Shield will be exclusive to the Deja Loot gamemode and spawn at higher rates; after the event we’ll consider adding the Evo Shield to all matches, so please give us your feedback.

Thew new Limited Time mode is called “Deja Loot,” and it will have all loot spawn in the same location in every match for the duration of the event! Even the plane path and the circle locations will be fixed for this mode, and will change on a daily basis though the loot location statys the same for the whole event. The first week of Deja Loot will take place on World’s Edge, with the second week set in Kings Canyon.

There’s also a change on how the Heirloom system works.

We’re changing up the Heirloom system to make it easier for you to acquire the heirloom you want. Instead of an entire Heirloom set dropping at once, you’ll now receive Heirloom shards. You can then use those shards to pick the exact Heirloom set you’d like. The shards will have the same drop rate as the previous system, so that after 500 Apex Packs, you will have enough Heirloom Shards to obtain an Heirloom set from the Heirloom shop. And don’t worry, your existing progress towards the 500 Apex Packs will carry over with the switch. Remember that once a player owns all of the Heirloom sets, the player will not be eligible to receive more shards until more Heirloom Sets are added to the game.

To read up on the event-limited cosmetics and more, head on over to EA’s site.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Screenshots Leak and Shows How Amazing It Looks So Far

With last week’s announcement trailer that Baldur’s Gate 3 will have gameplay shown at PAX East, some might be wondering whether we’ll see that today. While it still hasn’t made its way out (officially or via a leak), there are a bunch of Baldur’s Gate 3 screenshots that got leaked, and I have to say, they look very, very impressive.

The screenshots were compiled by Reddit user Hoboforeternity via Imgur after they were removed, most likely by the request of Larian Studios.

Hopefully, the Baldur’s Gate 3 gameplay trailer won’t be kept to PAX East attendees, and we’ll get to see it soon. In the meantime, feast your eyes on these screenshots and prepare for what appears to be an epic RPG adventure!

What do you make of the screenshots so far? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments.

Xbox Series X Quick Resume Feature Works Even After Full Reboot

Just the other day, Microsoft revealed a host of features for the upcoming next-gen console, the Xbox Series X. One of these said features, is the Xbox One Series X quick resume, which works on multiple games this time around.

This little tidbit was confirmed by Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, in the latest Major Nelson podcast, where he had Director of Program Management at Xbox Jason Ronald as a guest. According to Ronald, the Xbox Series X’s SSD (Solid State Drive) will let players quickly resume games and not just one title at a time.

In the podcast, Nelson asks Ronald to explain the quick resume feature since some people might think it’s nothing special given the Xbox One can already do this.

Today you can quick resume the last game that you’re playing, but with Xbox Series X we’re actuallly able to do that for multiple titles. and we’re basically taking this to the next level of capability, and this is really powered by our custom built SSD that’s part of the Xbox Series X, which actually allows us to have multiple games saved at any one time. And I can instantly jump between them or jump into them and resume where I was when I left off. – Jason Ronald, Director of Program Management at Xbox

It doesn’t stop there, however, Hryb chimes in and mentions what he shares might get him “in trouble.”

I’ll probably get in trouble for talking about this…one thing I was noticing when I was in the Lab was I playing it, and switching back and forth just real quickly and seamlessly between games. But then I had to reboot because I had a system update.  And then I went back to the game and went right back to it. So it survives a reboot! That’s amazing! – Major Nelson

You can hear the both of them talk about it at the 5:00 mark of the podcast.

I got to say, that’s one hell of a feature! Now you don’t need to load each and every game that you frequently play, and just have them suspended. Hopefully, the Xbox Series X won’t crash if you do this for a lot of games.

Are you surprised at this new feature or were you expecting it? What other quality of life feature should gamers expect from these next-gen consoles?

GTA Online Update This Week Adds New Tracks, Vehicle Customizations & More

Rockstar Games has announced what’s in the GTA Online update this week, and it’s a good week for wheelheads! There are seven new racetracks, new vehicle customizaton options and lots more.

GTA Online update this week summary:

  • Seven new tracks across Southern San Andreas, ranging from Los Santos International Airport, to Vinewood Hills and more
  • Two new open wheel vehicles; the Ocelot R88 and the Progen PR4, now available at Legendary Motorsport
  • New upgrades and customizations: Open wheel vehicle wings, liveries, engine mods and more
  • The new Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS), a rechargeable speed boost for use in Open Wheel Races

Take a look at the seven new tracks as well as their official descriptions below.

Height of Society
Forget the purpose-built track. For true open wheelers, it’s all about the historic street circuit. The narrow straights, the winding hairpins, the sun-drenched glamour of the French Riviera. Or in the case of the Vinewood Hills, the chubby insurance brokers doing yoga on their roof terraces.

In Due Course
Sure, Europe gave the world underage drinking and open-wheel racing. But America showed the world how to do them at the same time. And now, courtesy of City Hall, Los Santos has a city circuit custom-built to showcase the kind of visionary synthesis that makes this great nation what it is

Lap it Up
In light of the recent spate of preventable drownings at the Port of Los Santos, the Port Authority’s audacious rebranding emphasises the stunning possibilities for exhilarating open wheel racing on a windy dockside with no safety barriers. It’s all a question of optics. Especially if you’re underwater.

Brace for Impact
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Los Santos International Airport. The runway is clear for departure. Please note, in the likely event the cockpit catches fire, the emergency team have been dismissed due to budget cuts. Turbulence is expected so fasten your seatbelt and familiarize yourself with the emergency exit. Clue: it’s straight out the top.

More Haste More Speed
With the kinetic energy recovery system in your R88propelling you with all the force and stability of black-market cluster munitions, you might wonder if there’s enough room for a conventional racetrack in Fort Zancudo. There’s not. Enjoy the S-bends.

Urban Renewal
Some say that Davis could never host an open wheel series. But a state-of-the-art pit stop is surely just the kind of public investment that an underprivileged neighborhood needs. So don’t think of the track as “poorly funded”. Those potholes and concrete blocks are the natural obstacles that separate the weekend racers from the real pros.

New Wave
Close your eyes, breathe in deep, and go to your happy place. Is there an ambience more soothing than waves gently lapping at your chassis, gentle breezes whispering through your air intake, and the violent explosion of your PR4’s oxidised carbon-carbon disk brakes?

There’s also two new cars, the PR4 and the R88.

PR4
Velocity redefined. Braking transformed. Performance reimagined. See you at the event horizon.

R88
Optimization means never having to choose between the poise of a ballet dancer and the aggression of frenzied gorilla.

Check back next week for the next wave of new stuff Rockstar adds to the game.

Fortnite Update 2.59 Released on PS4

Following this past Tuesday’s Fortnite patch, Epic Games has released a new one just for the PS4 — at least for now. Fortnite update 2.59 has been released, and it’s at just 383MB. According to Epic Games this patch is to address performance.

Note that this performance patch is for the frames-per-second (fps) drops players have been experiencing since patch v12.00, and it’s been happening on all platforms. Epic confirmed (via the Trello board) that they are “aware” of the frame rate drops and are working on improvements.

Reports of FPS drops since v12.00.

Description
We’re aware of reports of FPS drops since v12.00 and are working on improvements.

Platforms
All

Hopefully, this PS4 Fortnite patch is a good start to alleviate any performance issues and that other platforms will get it soon. We’re not expecting any nerfs or changes in this patch, but given Epic has been rather silent on those, don’t be surprised to see stealth changes implemented. If you spot any, leave your feedback in the comments below, and we’ll update the post and credit you for the find (once we’ve validated it, of course).

What other issues should Epic Games tackle when it comes to Fortnite ASAP? Sound off down belw and let us know.

Modern Warfare Playlist Update Includes Fixes

While Infinity Ward rolled out a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare patch yesterday, the studio has rolled out a new server-side Modern Warfare playlist update today.

Included in the server-side Modern Warfare playlist update (no download required) are fixes, which you can see below (via Infinity Ward).

– Removes rank reset prompt screen after yesterday’s update
– Fixes for Regiment invites
– Fix for the Quick Fix Perk not functioning as intended while used as a Specialist Perk
– Fix for killstreaks still functioning in CDL playlists

One thing changed that wasn’t mentioned is how the Giant Infected playlist has been taken out, after just a day of being available. My guess is Infnity Ward might be tweaking it based on how easy it is to gain XP or maybe how easy it is to earn Nukes? These are guesses though, and there’s a possibilty they just took it out for other reasons.

In other Modern Warfare news, Infinity Ward is teasing something regarding the “Classified” item in the menus!

If you spot any changes in the game that’s not mentioned in the patch notes, let us know down in the comments.

Modern Warfare Classified Portion Teasing Something Is Coming Soon

With yesterday’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare patch, not only did we get a host of gameplay fixes and new stuff, but it seems Infinity Ward has added a little teaser as well. In case you didn’t know, the previous patch before yesterday brought a “Classified” section on the menus, and now, that Modern Warfare Classified portion is actually starting to tease something.

Aside from each menu entry getting a new splash screen, the background of the Classified section has the words “Transmission Incoming” scrolling kinda fast with blurred text.

While we can pretend and not know what this is, the fact that Activision themselves had their legal hounds go after a Call of Duty Warzone leaker is kind of a dead giveaway that this is indeed for Call of Duty Warzone — the rumored name for Modern Warfare’s battle royale mode, which has been rumored to also be F2P (free-to-play) and will be a standalone experience. Of course, this could very well be for something else, but if I had to wager a guess, this is just another tease for the upcoming battle royale mode. And it’s not like Infinity Ward hasn’t done a bigger tease than this in the game before.

We’re keeping an eye out for more news and Easter eggs from Modern Warfare. To make sure you don’t miss anything, bookmark our Modern Warfare game hub right now.

Square Enix New Games Will Most Likely Be Cross-Gen According to Publisher

With next-gen consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X) set to release later this year, some might be wondering how will publishers adapat given this gen is still going strong, though at the same time, next-gen can’t be ignored. For publisher Square Enix, it seems that for the foreseeable future, it’s to offer games as cross-gen.

In a publisher Q&A, the publisher states that Square Enix new titles will probably be cross-gen.

Q: Could you share your thinking on the development of new titles for current- and next-generation game consoles going forward?

A: The next-generation consoles will have backward compatibility, so we plan for the time being to make our new titles available for both current and next-generation consoles. It will therefore be somewhat farther down the road that we release titles exclusively for next-generation consoles.

You can read the entire Q&A in this .pdf file.

Square Enix isn’t the only publisher thinking of having games available cross-gen. Ubisoft has already confirmed that we’ll be seeing Rainbow Six Siege on PS5 and Xbox Series X and it will allow crossplay even.

Surprised at this or not at all? I’m personally expecting most publishers to do the same given how popular the PS4 and Xbox One X still are.
