Activision “Aware” of Call of Duty: WWII Matchmaking Issues Post-Patch

If you downloaded and applied the Call of Duty: WWII title update that came out a few hours ago, then you might have noticed that it your wait time in finding games got a bit longer than usual, and in some cases, not being able to find games at all.

Well, there’s good news and bad news. The bad news is, there’s no fix that’s known right now. The good news? Activision is “aware” of the issue. This message was relayed by the Activision Support Twitter account just now.

If you can’t see that, it reads, “We’re aware that players are experiencing issues getting into matches, we’re currently working to resolve, stay tuned for updates.”

While some might have gotten this matchmaking issue after the patch, there are some people (like me!) that has been experiencing it even before it. I’ve come across issues where I couldn’t find any matches at all except for Team Deathmatch, and sometimes not even that. I waited it out, and after 30 minutes, decided to back out.

Let’s hope this gets sorted soon, especially since the game has a double XP event running now until Monday. If there’s an issue or two that the patch has brought in, let us know what they are in the comments.

For more on Call of Duty: WWII, go read up on our Airborne guide, and make sure to think twice before entering Prestige since there’s an issue with it that hasn’t been resolved by the patch.

Destiny 2 Xbox One X Enhanced Features Revealed, Double XP Event Is Coming

Bungie has been keeping pretty quiet about what kind of enhancements would be coming to Destiny 2 on Xbox One X. With the game’s PlayStation partnership, we can understand why the developers weren’t very keen to talk about Microsoft’s new “most powerful console.” Thankfully, the secrecy has now come to an end!

In the Bungie weekly update blog, community manager Cozmo confirmed that the Xbox One X will support HDR lighting, as well as 4K. This appears to be native 4K.

Xbox One X enhancements will be available on December 5, coinciding with the launch of the Curse of Osiris expansion and Season Two.

Here’s the relevant part of the blog post:

High Fidelity

The holiday season is nigh, so you might be compiling your wish list. The PlayStation 4 Pro and the Xbox One X are now both out there in the wild, and either of them would make a great gift – even if it’s one you buy for yourself. We’ve seen a lot of questions about whether or not Destiny 2 would scale to meet the potential of new hardware. On this festive occasion, the answer is “Yes!”

On December 5, along with the launch of Curse of Osiris and Season Two, we’ll be deploying an update to Destiny 2 that will deliver stunning gameplay with high dynamic range (HDR) lighting to these new consoles.  You’ll also see adaptive 4K resolution on the PlayStation 4 Pro and 4K on the Xbox One X.

If you’re migrating to these new consoles, or already have, we’ll make it worth your investment.

In addition to the Xbox One X enhancements, Bungie has also revealed the first double XP event. Beginning on November 17, and lasting all weekend, the “Clarion Call” event will go live. During this time, players will be able to earn double XP for “everything [they] do with a fellow clan member in [their] fireteam.”

If you aren’t a fan of teaming up with others, and prefer solo play, Bungie has also confirmed that future Clarion Call events won’t require you to play as a clan.

Answer the Call

Starting on November 17, the first Clarion Call for Destiny 2 will be live all weekend long. This will be an opportunity for you to earn double XP for everything you do with a fellow clan member in your fireteam. If you aren’t in a clan, this would be a perfect time to join one. Your increased gains will run from 10 AM Pacific on November 17 to 10 AM Pacific on November 20. If you are dedicated to playing solo, there will be future Clarion Calls that won’t require you to play with a clan.

Once Curse of Osiris releases, Bungie will be altering the reset time to 5 p.m. UTC, instead of 9 a.m. UTC. This is to “align the Milestone resets with event availability, such as Trials of the Nine or Iron Banner, to provide a uniform experience for players to follow each week.”

The weekly update also features a Q&A with social designers M.E Chung and Steve Dolan. Click here to read their comments on Guided Games, game chat and more.

Call of Duty: WW2 Update 1.05 Deployed, Full Patch Notes Reveal Weapon Nerfs (Update)

Update:

Additional patch notes for Nazi Zombies have been released. Post has been updated to include these changes.

Original Story:

As promised by Sledgehammer Games, a new Call of Duty: WWII title update has made its way out! Clocking in at 1.36GB on the PlayStation 4, it only says “bug fixes” in the update history for now.

Curious what’s new? You’re not the only one! Here’s the long list of tweaks rolled out just now (via the Activision forums)that includes a few weapon tuning as well. It touches on some of the “known issues” by Activision.

COD: WWII MULTIPLAYER UPDATES

  • Connectivity improvements and optimizations
  • Fixed de-ranking issues
  • Addressed an issue where players encountered an infinite load screen
  • Leaderboard stability improvements and bug fixes
  • General UI improvements

  • Added new unlock inventory stars to indicate when new items are added
  • Adjusted hit marker audio to be higher default level (note: can be adjusted in settings)
  • Fixed out of world exploits on Gustav Cannon and Sainte Marie du Mont
  • Espionage Basic Training – Reduced painted time from 10 to 6 seconds. Made it so only bullet damage paints you.
  • Weapon tuning to allow for one shot kills outside of hardcore mode, enabling challenge completion.
  • Fixed infinite flamethrower bug
  • XP Earn rate tuned in Operation Neptune
  • Fix issue of shotgun variants not appearing
  • Emblem Editor and visualization improvements
  • GameBattles Improvements
  • Fixed Gridiron Ball exploits

COD: WWII MULTIPLAYER WEAPON TUNING UPDATES

BUFFs

  • Walther Toggle Action Shotgun – Damage increased at extremely close range
  • Bren LMG – Increased damage per shot
  • LMG Bipod – Sped up ADS time when in Bipod stance

NERFs

  • BAR Rifle – decreased fire rate and widened hip fire spread
  • STG44 Rifle – widened hip fire spread
  • FG42 Rifle – increased recoil and widened hip fire spread
  • Machine Pistol – decreased damage ranges

SNIPER CLASS – Fixed a bug with all Sniper Rifles zooming to exact center when aiming down the sights

COD: WWII NAZI ZOMBIES UPDATES

  • Zombie Map Exploit Fix – clipping into a zombie spawn closet using revive mechanic in Laboratory
  • Fixed Klaus pathing
  • Fixed out of world exploit – The Final Reich

Unfortunately, it seems the issue where you’re the only one in Headquarters is still on-going. We’ll give the multiplayer a spin to see what changes have been made that might not have been included in the patch notes.

Hopefully, this means the error when entering Prestige has been fixed at the very least. Don’t forget to check out our Airborne class guide to gain some valuable tips!

If you notice anything not in the patch notes, let us know in the comments.

Call of Duty: WWII Double XP Weekend Inbound

Merely a week after its release, Call of Duty: WWII is getting its first double XP weekend. With server problems affecting a lot of players at launch, perhaps a weekend’s additional experience, and hopefully more stable servers, can help repair the damage. Double XP will run up until 10 a.m. PT on November 13.

With only 10 Prestige levels, and many dedicated players already blasting through the first three resets, I think we’ll see some exceptionally grindy gamers achieving close to max rank by the weekend’s end.

Will you be spending your weekend playing Call of Duty: WWII? Or do you have something else in mind? I hear there’s another big shooter out for Xbox One EA Access and PC Origin Access players…

Grinding Gear Games Details Unique Items for Upcoming Path Of Exile Expansion

As we’ve previously covered this week on MP1st, Grinding Gear Games have slowly started to reveal information regarding their upcoming December expansion for Path Of Exile. It seems that the New Zealand-based studio is at yet again with revealing more information regarding the upcoming expansion.

The developer delves a little bit into some of the unique items that you’ll surely come across once the expansion goes live. Very recently, they’ve dropped small descriptions at what some of the new unique items are capable of.

Catch the list below.

Stormcharger:

  • The movement speed on Stormcharger is enough to keep you powering through the story. If you’re playing a Lightning build (especially one that likes to shock), Stormcharger has much more to offer, but you’ll have to be content with boots that provide virtually no defenses.

Wraithlord:

  • A thousand extra life for your spectres is amazing at level 34, and doesn’t go astray at higher levels either. That said, the minion life regeneration on Wraithlord is likely to be the reason you wear this helm at higher levels. Like Stormcharger, Wraithlord doesn’t do much to keep you alive, but your minions will thank you.

Giantsbane:

  • Roleplay as a Giant slayer, or perhaps as a giant Slayer! At level 23, these gloves are just pretty darn good, especially as a strength-based projectile attacker. Though most characters will probably swap these out not long afterwards for some nice rare gloves, the niche (but fun!) Iron Grip builds will see a lot more use from these.

Cane Of Unraveling:

  • Staves have a longstanding tradition of providing solid high-level caster specialization options. Like Taryn’s Shiver, The Searing Touch and the Agnerods before it, the Cane of Unravelling will help kickstart your endgame. It provides potent Chaos power and Power Charge power to help you climb map tiers.

Vix Lunaris:

  • With solid defenses, Life and Cannot be Frozen, Vix Lunaris already provides several compelling reasons to wear this in your Shield slot, but it is the Level 20 Cold Aegis skill that the shield enables that is the true draw. Cold Aegis creates a protective bubble around the player and absorbs Cold damage up to a certain amount before it temporarily dissipates. This is particularly powerful for characters who, for whatever reason, tend to be more susceptible to Cold damage than anything else.
Aside from giving small description of these new uniques, GGG have also revealed details of a new map, which they urge you to bring a mobility skill gem with you.

Pillars Of Arun:

  •  Be sure to bring a Leap Slam, Flame Dash, Blink Arrow, Bodyswap or Lightning Warp with you. You’ll be stuck high and dry (mostly high!) without a movement skill to get you across the perilous gaps in this map.

More details of this upcoming expansion is set to be made on November 16, when GGG fully reveals the December expansion. Though, from the looks of how excited they are to talk about their upcoming content, it shouldn’t be to surprising if they reveal more information before the full announcement.

Star Wars Battlefront II Loot Box Pricing Revealed

With EA’s Star Wars Battlefront II now available via early access on PC and Xbox One, we now have an idea of how much loot crates will be in the game! Loot crates in Battlefront II can be bought buy using the in-game currency called “Crystals” which we reported on last month.

Below, you’ll see the corresponding Crystals to dollar value of each package.

  • 500: $5/£4
  • 1000: $10/£8
  • 2100: $20/£16
  • 4400: $40/£32
  • 12,000: $100/£80

Important to note that these are the regular prices since there’s a 10 percent discount happening right now, which might just be for the trial or permanent to Origin members. As for the crates themselves, there’s the Hero loot crate, Starfighter loot crate and the Trooper.

Given the importance of Star Cards, which can be had in loot crates (or by progressing), there’s a certain fear from players that the game will be pay-to-win, regardless of what EA has said. We posted a story earlier today that mentioned just that — that the game is still pay-to-win. Obviously, we’ll be reserving judgement until we’ve managed to actually play it.

Speaking of which, we’ll have our Battlefront II review up as soon as we can (we haven’t received review codes yet), though we will give the game a proper shake by playing the multiplayer extensively, and the other modes as well.

Are you surprised by the loot crate pricing? Are you even considering getting some when the game launches this November 17 on the PS4, Xbox One and PC?

Make sure to check out the content roadmap of Star Wars Battlefront II to see what’s in store for players post-launch.

Call of Duty: WWII Getting Patch Later Tonight or Tomorrow

After numerous reports of server issues, in-game glitches and more for Call of Duty: WWII, Sledgehammer Games now has promised a patch will be released “tonight/tomorrow.”

This was announced by Sledgehammer Games boss Michael Condrey over on Twitter, where he also thanked fans for their patience.

If you couldn’t see the embedded tweet, it says:

#CODWWII game update coming tonight/tomorrow morning. Thank you so much for your continued patience. We’re working around the clock to address improvements and open items in order to make the game the best possible for fans. Stay tuned to @SHGames for more details.

While Condrey didn’t mention anything specific other than items from Supply Drops not working as intended, hopefully, this means that the Prestige bug, and most of the known issues will be cleared up. And of equal importance, let’s hope the beta changes that were promised makes their way into the new patch too.

Once the game update hits, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.
