Modern Warfare New Custom Loadouts Not Working Fix

In today’s rather big Call of Duty: Modern Warfare patch, one of the new big features added is the addition of five new custom loadout slots that players have been asking for a long time. Unfortunately though, some people are running into issues with this, and we’re here to help with this quick Modern Warfare new custom loadouts not working fix!

Reddit user _AMuse_ posted a super quick and easy way to circumvent any issues players might be running into with the new Modern Warfare custom loadouts, which you can check out below.

  • Hover over an already created class
  • Select Loadout options
  • Choose copy and replace
  • Copy it over one of the empty classes (6-10)
  • Bada Bing, Bada Boom
  • There you go.

Yep, it’s that easy. So if you find the new loadouts being customizable or whatnot, this should alleviate that.

In case you haven’t downloaded today’s big Modern Warfare patch, you best get a move on as you’re going to be downloading more than one file. Then again, that’s better than running into some of the data corruption issues some players have experienced so far.

If you notice any other bugs introduced in this new patch, let us know down in the comments and we’ll try and find a fix.

Modern Warfare Download Corrupt Issue Happening After January 22 Update

With today’s big Call of Duty: Modern Warfare patch, players aren’t just downloading the patch, but they’re also asked to download something more. While that in itself is a big pain in the neck for most people that don’t have unlimited harddisk space, it seems there’s an on-going Modern Warfare download corrupt issue happening as well, which makes things worse.

Multiple people on the Modern Warfare subreddit have expressed concern on how they’re experiencing data corruption and/or a download loop after today’s patch. It also causes some people to reset their ranks too!

Note that this seems to be happening to players on all platforms.

byu/Ointmentt inmodernwarfare

Infinity Ward has acknowledged the issue, announcing over on Twitter that they are investigating the error prompt, and that players should not choose either of the two options.

Infinity Ward Senior Communications Manager Ashton Williams is currently collecting the Activision IDs of those affected to help with the studio’s investigation too. Chime in with yours in this thread.

We’re hoping that this issue gets resolved ASAP without any stat loss for players whatsoever. Hopefully, Infinity Ward can release a server-side fix to it, or even a new patch should be fine, as long as it works as intended.

Have you experienced this Modern Warfare download corrupt issue or looping bug? Don’t forget to NOT choose any of the two options for now.

Modern Warfare January 22 Patch Includes Additional Hefty Download Outside of Main Patch

If you’ve just turned on your consoles or PC to play some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, you’l be greeted with today’s Modern Warfare January 22 patch! While this title update brings fixes and new stuff, it is a rather hefty download, as it requires 13GB on PS4, 18GB on Xbox One, and staggering 48GB on PC.

Now, if you found those download sizes a bit too much, sad to say that for console owners, you will need to clear more space. After downloading the intial big patch, PS4 players will be asked to download a 13GB Spec Ops pack, and for Xbox One owners, a 9GB Multiplayer pack. Note that you won’t be able to start multiplayer without downloading the additional updates (which we tested).

So, this means that for PS4 players, you will need to clear more than 25GB of disk space (13GB + 13GB), and for Xbox One, you’ll need to have more than 26GB of space (18GB + 9GB), which is kind of bonkers if you thin about it.

While someone on Reddit pointed out that you can download the 13GB Spec Ops pack and choose not to install it as to play multiplayer without eating up more disk space, you can’t choose not to download it even if you don’t Spec Ops. Believe me, I tried. If you don’t download the Spec Ops pack, the multiplayer portion of the game will not let you proceed outside of the main title screen.

Hopefully, PS4 and Xbox One owners have an extra external harddisk or two lying around, or the next Modern Warfare patch will mean that you might need to delete more than half your games to accommodate it.

Modern Warfare Update Today Now Live, Here’s What’s New in 1.13

As expected from yesterday’s announcement, the big Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update today is now out, and yep, it really is big! Clocking in at 13GB on PS4, 18GB on Xbox One, and a super chunky 48GB (!) download on PC, check out the full list of changes in Modern Warfare update 1.13!

Modern Warfare update today patch notes (January 22, 2020) :

WHAT’S NEW

  • Playlist Update: Added Capure the Flag and Shoot the Ship (Removes Shoot House 24/7) playlists! We also added Aniyah Palace back into rotation
  • 5 additional loadout slots!
  • New Weapon – Crossbow! Unlocked by using a Marksman Rifle with a Reflex Optic, get 5 kills in 25 different matches!

General:

  • In some cases, players could hit an invisible kill trigger in a bush that would cause them to die instantly while near A Flag on Port. This has been fixed.
  • Fixed an out of bounds exploit on Aniyah Palace
  • Temporarily removing Krovnik Farmland out of rotation while we work on a few bugs
  • Fix for a bug that could lock a PC player’s FOV at 60 until they respawn while in Ground War
  • The “Stand Together” calling card (3 Wins in Team Deathmatch) was being awarded even though this calling card is earned by default. This has been adjusted to the “Redemption” calling card.
  • The Daily Challenge for getting “10 Claymore Kills” was awarding the “One Shot” spray which is unlocked by default. This has been adjusted to the “Soft Serve” spray.
  • Fix for an issue where the playlist filter would not switch game modes, even with multiple modes selected
  • Adjusted the damage threshold for “Get X Kills while Injured” challenge to make it a bit easier to obtain
  • Various out-of-map exploit fixes
  • Fix for a few graphical errors that could occur on Ground War maps
  • Infected: Fixed a bug where the Nuke effects and audio will interrupt and overlap the final killcam if called in after death of the final survivor
  • Fixes to the Recent Players list appearing incorrectly on Xbox
  • Fixed a bug that allowed players to capture the Hardpoint while in the hotel on St. Petrograd
  • Adjusted the obituary to remove the oldest items first
  • Fixed a bug that would reset Voice Chat settings after the application was hard closed
  • Fix for a bug that allowed player collision. This has been fixed
  • Players can no longer cancel their recovery state when sliding, but will always incur the standard fire delay (visually the player will still respond)
  • On Shipment, players are able to set Care Packages on spawn points, causing players to die instantly when spawning in on these points. This has been fixed.
  • Fixed an issue where the Elite Xbox One controller had a slight bounce back with the analog sticks
  • Fixed a bug that could give players invincibility
  • Fix for some Officer Progression emblems not displaying the correct rarity
  • Fixed an issue that would lock Operator missions despite having the correct Battle Pass Tier

Field Upgrades:

  • Fixed a bug where using the ‘Stopping Power Rounds’ Field Upgrade with an empty C4 slot would cause the C4 detonator to appear before reloading with the Stopping Power Rounds
  • Fixed a bug that allowed players to reach unintended locations while manipulating the Weapon Drop Field Upgrade
  • Fixed a bug that allowed the Recon Drone to fly into geo if C4 was thrown onto it
  • Fix for Stopping Power Rounds not applying the correct damage boost to headshots

Trophy System:

  • Increased protection radius
  • Decreased the radius and the damage taken by trophy explosions
  • Fixed a bug where the explosion damage and effects wouldn’t trigger for the third explosion

Killstreaks:

  • Fixed a bug that allowed the Cruise Missile to kill players while out of bounds on Shipment

Weapons:

  • Fixed a bug where the 1mW Laser would not appear equipped on the 1911 pistol while in the Gunsmith menu
  • M4A1 Blueprint “OG” ADS position moved forward; the viewmodel or gun’s position relative to the  camera or player’s eye is moved forward more, so it blocks less of the line of sight
  • Changing the magazine capacity from 45 to 50 for the RAM-7 extended magazine.
  • Increasing the bullet penetration of the MK2 Carbine
  • Less horizontal recoil on the initial bullets of the FN Scar-17
  • Changed the way stats are displayed for stocks to be more consistent with other attachments (this is for the graphs only, not the actual stats)

Call of Duty League:

  • Domination: Flags must be neutralized before being captured again. Settings for neutralization timing are now available in settings
  • Decreased charge time on the Trophy System
  • Headshot multiplier damage has been clamped; torso and headshots are now the same
  • Removed lightweight boost and decreased charge time on Dead Silence

COD Caster

  • Reworked minimap visuals (removed outside map background, removed minimap frame)
  • Improved readability of the killfeed and nameplate colors
  • Improved the quality of the colored arrows shown under players when using the Aerial Camera
  • Data View feature has been temporarily removed

PC:

  • Tweaked parts of the Battle Pass UI in order to better support higher Aspect Ratios
  • Fixed an issue with the sound effects on the Support Helo
  • Several fixes to prevent crashes and improve stability

Are you happy with the changes and additions being made by Infinity Ward or have they not addressed the biggest concerns since launch? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Disintegration Closed Beta Key Giveaway

Looking for something new to play? If you’re tired of your standard shooter, then maybe this new and upcoming title from V1 Interactive, which is founded by the co-creators of Halo and SOCOM: US Navy SEALs, might catch your eye. Titled “Disintegration,” this sci-fi first-person shooter features a single-player campaign, and a fast-paced multiplayer mode!

Check out the Disintegration closed beta trailer below to see the mayhem in action.

Liked what you saw? Well, here’s your chance to play it before it’s out sometime this year! Thanks to V1 Interactive, we have LOADS of codes to giveaway! How to enter? Super simple! Just follow the instructions below! Note that you can also send us a Facebook DM (for either MP1st and SP1st) and we’ll DM a code once it’s available this Friday! Otherwise, you can also follow the directions below.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Closed Beta Details

    • The Disintegration Closed Technical Beta runs on January 28 (8am PT – 11:59pm PT) and January 29 (8am PT – 11:59pm PT).

    • During this window players will have access to two of the three frenetic multiplayer game modes that will be available in the full game at launch. These modes are Retrieval and Control.

    • Retrieval – players compete in two intense rounds in which one team attempts to deliver a payload which can only be carried by their ground crew while the other team defends.

    • Zone Control – two teams vie for domination over various capture points. Players must ensure their ground crew are alive and within the zone as this is the only way to accrue score to win the match.

  • Players will be able to play with seven of the final game’s unique crews in the beta, such as the damage-boosting Tech Noir or the nuke-launching Warhedz. The purpose of the betas is to ensure stability and collect feedback ahead of when the game launches later this year.

  • For more details about the technical beta as well as information on Disintegration, please visit www.disintegrationgame.com.

We have loads of codes to give away on PS4, Xbox One, and PC! Remember that for comments, leave a comment why you want one and the platform. We’ll be in touch via the widget so you won’t need to share your email publicly.

Rainbow Six Siege Upcoming Changes Outlined via TS Update

While we just got a patch for Rainbow Six Siege yesterday, that didn’t include any gameplay changes as one might expect. For those looking forward to the Rainbow Six Siege upcoming changes when it comes to gameplay, we have that now with the first-ever TS (Test Server) patch notes of 2020!

Note that these changes are being tested via the Test Servers and are not guaranteed to make their way into the game in an upcoming patch. That said, the probability of these gameplay changes being included are high, so long as nothing is broken or whatnot.

Check out the full list of Rainbow Six Siege upcoming changes below.

PATCH NOTES
BALANCING

ADS

ADS time increased for all weapons.

  • Assault rifles: from 0.30s to 0.40s

  • DMRs: from 0.30s up to 0.40s

  • SMGs: from 0.20s up to 0.30s

  • LMGs: from 0.40s up to 0.45s

  • Pistol: 0.10s up to 0.20s

  • SMG in secondary slots: 0.10s up to 0.35s

  • Shotguns: 0.20s up to 0.25s

In Ember Rise there was an overhaul of the animations which caused ADS time to decrease across the board for all weapons. This change will make ADS speeds similar to what they were pre-Ember Rise, as well as align ADS times for all weapons in each of their respective classes.

BLACKBEARD

  • ADS penalization will only apply when Blackbeard’s Gun Shield is equipped.

  • Weapons without the Gun Shield will maintain the same timings as any other Assault Rifle, weapons with the Gun Shield will have the same timings as they have now, and the Angled Grip will affect the SCAR with and without the Gun Shield equipped.

Giving Nerfbeard a little love.

ECHO

  • Echo and Yokai can now be hacked by Dokkaebi.

  • Echo is no longer immune to Dokkaebi’s Logic Bomb. Additionally, if Dokkaebi is present in the round, Echo drops a phone that can be hacked when he is killed. When Dokkaebi hacks the Defender’s Observation Tools system, access to the Yokai cameras is also granted for Attackers.

  • With this change, Yokai now has lights that show only when NOT cloaked, and Yokai drone lights will change to reflect it is hacked.

Echo has a high ban rate and is frustrating to play against, so we want to make more counter-play and counter-intel options against him available.

ELA

  • Reduced recoil on Scorpion Evo3 for the first 16 shots, any proceeding shots will have recoil similar to what it is currently on live.

Ela’s Scorpion Evo3 is one of the most difficult and frustrating weapons to handle among our arsenal. While Ela still performs well overall, we want to make the Scorpion less of a learning barrier while still maintaining Ela’s balance. A little more princess, a little less Nerferella.

FINKA

  • Increased Finka’s Spear .308 damage to 42 (up from 38)

We’ve seen that Finka’s spear underperforms all other Assault Rifles on Att and are looking to make it a more viable option.

JAGER

  • Reduced Jager’s 416-C damage to 38 (down from 43)

We’re still tinkering with Jager, but Wamai now in the game we feel it’s an appropriate time to make some moves and try to reduce the power of his 416-C which outperforms all other guns on Def.

MAESTRO

  • ACOG removed from Maestro’s ALDA

We think the ALDA is powerful even without the ACOG and want to see if it’s removal will highlight its other great qualities.

NOKK + SMOKE

  • Increased Nokk’s FMG9 damage to 34 (up from 30)

We want to give her a bit more confidence to make full use of her identity to sneak around and take 1v1 situations and gunfights.

YING

  • Candela’s now have a new outline that is visible only to Ying

  • Improved distribution of Cluster Flashes to make the flash more reliable.

  • Number of pellets per Candela increased to 7 (up from 6) – (1 at floor level, 3 at around hip level and 3 at head level).

  • Pellets detonation time reduced to 0.3s (from 1s on throw and 2.5s on deploy).

  • Pellets that bounce on environmental props maintain their velocity instead of falling and detonating on the floor.

  • Candela explosion minor VFX improvements.

We’re looking to make Ying’s Candelas more reliable and consistent as a whole. The new outline will also make her Candela mechanics more readable. And as pellets will explode mid-air instead of on the floor to avoid undesirable collisions, it will make Candela mechanics clearer.

BUG FIXES

GAMEPLAY

  • FIXED – Jackal can’t scan footsteps while within the warning area of a Mute jammer.

He can now scan footsteps while in the warning area – making it more in alignment with Finka’s ability as she can use her gadget while still in the warning area of a jammer.

  • FIXED – A rolling Candela that stops on a staircase will slide downstairs before detonating.

Candelas will now stop and stay in place where they activated, even on stairs or uneven surfaces.

  • FIXED – Glaz’s Holographic Sight has a larger and thicker red reticle than other Russian Holographic Sights

Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme vs. Maxiboost ON PS4 Release Announced for 2020

Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. Maxiboost ON PS4 Release has finally been revealed, and after nearly 3 years of being available on arcade systems, PlayStation owners will finally get to enjoy this gem of a title later this year.

Gundam Extreme Vs. Maxiboost ON focuses heavily on its 2v2 battles, allowing players to take control of an onslaught of Mobile suits throughout the history of Gundam The game will boast 183 playable units all with a unique fighting style that differs from one another. Down below is the exciting announcement trailer along with more details around the game.

Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. Maxiboost ON originally released back in 2016 for Arcade systems, exclusively in Japan. Previously, the PlayStation 3 saw the release of Gundam Extreme Vs Full Boost, while the PlayStation 4 actually got more of a spin-off to the series known as Gundam VERSUS, though reception wise was rather poor due to how different it was compared to the Vs. series. I will say, playing Full Boost on the PlayStation 3, this is one fighting title that you shouldn’t skip out on. We’ll have more coverage on the title as it releases, and hopefully, a firm release date gets announced soon.

Set in the globally iconic GUNDAM universe, MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM EXTREME VS. MAXIBOOST ON enables players to take 2-on-2 PVP combat to the next level with Mobile Suits spanning the entire breadth of the franchise’s history. In total, MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM EXTREME VS. MAXIBOOST ON features 183 playable units from 36 different GUNDAM iterations, each with unique abilities designed to match any fan’s personal playstyle. Players can choose between three different EX Burst Systems—Fighting Burst, Extend Burst and Shooting Burst—to coordinate with allies and lay waste to all that stand—or fly—in their way.

“The EXTREME VS series is known for its high-octane brand of PVP Mobile Suit battles, and MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM EXTREME VS. MAXIBOOST ON is primed to take that style of combat to awesome new heights never-before-seen by GUNDAM fans in the Americas,” said Abelina Villegas, Associate Brand Manager at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. “We can’t wait for Western fans to get their first taste of the title that’s captivated Japanese arcade-players for years when it finally makes its console debut on the PlayStation 4.”

Dying Light Update Today Shambles Out, Here’s What’s in 1.23 (1.21)

Techland has released a new Dying Light patch today, and it’s now live (dead?). Players will see this as Dying Light update 1.23 or 1.21 depending on the region you’rein, and it includes a bunch of fixes, and no new content. Clocking in at a hefty 7GB, check out the Dying Light update today  patch notes below.

Dying Light update today patch notes:

  • Fixed crashing issues.
  • Fixed framerate drop issues
  • Added performance and stability improvements.
  • Various under the hood fixes.

And that’s basically it. If you’re wondering why these fixes total 7GB to download, we’re wondering the same thing. Could this include content for an upcoming event? Perhaps. Or maybe there’s a hidden demo for Dying Light 2 in it for Dying Light owners? I highly doubt that.

If we get more news regarding this update and whether it has gameplay changes, we’ll update the post.

Speaking of Dying Light 2, the game has been delayed from its original Spring 2020 release to indefinitely. Comparing the sequel to the first one, Techland has mentioned that the Dying Light 2 map size is four times that of the original!

If you’re looking forward to the sequel as much as we have, make sure to bookmark our Dying Light 2 hub for the latest news about the game.

DICE has confirmed that a Star Wars Battlefront 2 Capital Supremacy era select feature is coming soon!

There’s no definite date yet on when this is happening though, but at least it’s confirmed.

For those not familiar with Capital Supremacy, it’s a 40-player non-linear game mode based on capturing Command Posts and ultimately bringing down capital ships. This mode features heroes, Reinforcements, vehicles and of course, infantry (via Battlefront Fandom).

In other Star Wars Battlefront 2 news, here are some of the new Heroes entering the game soon.

Which Star Wars era would you want to play Capital Supremacy in? Do you think DICE will do this for the game’s other modes too?

Rainbow Six Siege Update 1.80 Sneaks Out

Following today’s Rainbow Six Siege server maintenance, Ubisoft has released Rainbow Six Siege update 1.80 without any fanfare, which means, there’s no new content included, and it’s mostly for bug fixes. Clocking in at just 850MB on PS4, Ubisoft has not released any official patch notes, but we have the next best thing, which is the in-game update history.

Rainbow Six Siege update 1.80 patch notes:

  • Level design fix
  • Animation fix
  • UI fix
  • Gameplay fix
  • Localization fix

That’s basically it. We’re trying to dig deeper as to what’s in this patch, and once we know more, we’ll update the post. Of course, there’s also the possibility that this update was pushed out ASAP given we had a server outage this past weekend for the game.

For the full list of gameplay changes made in the last big patch (Year 4 Season 4.2), check ’em out here. We’ll also be posting the list of upcoming gameplay changes being tested by Ubisoft currently in the PTS (Private Test Servers) on PC, and it has loads of weapon tuning changes.

If you spot any gameplay changes, let us know what they are in the comments or via email and we’ll update the post and credit the tip sender.

Dead by Daylight Update 1.81 Live, Brings Scarlet Swarm Event in 3.5.0

Behaviour Interactive has released Dead by Daylight 1.81, and it brings the Scarlet Swarm event just in time for the Lunar New Year! In addition to that, there’s a host of gameplay changes as well too. Clocking in at 2.2GB on PS4, check out the full list of changes in the Deady by Daylight update 1.81 patch notes below.

Dead by Daylight update 1.81 patch notes:

FEATURES & CONTENT

  • Feature – Added a Compendium page in the Archives. This page allows users to go back to previous Tomes and complete challenges. Completing challenges from a previous Tome will not give the user Rift Fragments.
  • Feature – Added a new Rift and Challenges for Tome II in the Archives.
  • Feature – Removed the invert camera in-game keybinding and from the Controls menu. This option is still available in the Settings menu.
  • Content – Updated the Treatment Theatre map (see details below in the BALANCE section).
  • Content – Removed Twitch Challenges feature.
  • Content – Removed Dutch & Swedish language support.
  • Content – Disabled the Cursed Legacy thematic lobby.

BALANCE

  • Gatekeeper Emblem: Flattened score value of all remaining generators so now all generators are worth the same amount (1 point per minute) regardless of the duration that they remain in the match. Also added an additional score for both gate remaining unopened at the end of the match.
  • Hex: Ruin redesigned: All generators are affected by Hex: Ruin; if a generator is not being worked on, it regresses at 100/150/200% the normal regression rate. The Hex effect persists as long as the related Hex totem is standing.
  • The Oni: Removed turn speed limitation on Demon Strike. Implemented a hard cap on the turn angle during Demon Strike.

The Doctor changes

  • Updated the illusionary Doctor animation to play The Doctor’s in-game idle animation instead of the menu idle animation.
  • Removed Treatment Mode and the Static Field VFX. The Doctor will no longer need to switch stances to use Shock Therapy, or to use a regular attack.
  • Added Doctor-specific chase music.
  • Added a new special ability, Static Blast, as the secondary power (see below for more information).
  • Set the cooldown of Shock Therapy to 1.5 seconds. This means it will take 1.5 seconds before The Doctor can hit with his primary weapon, use Shock Therapy or use Static Blast.
  • Increased the base range of Shock Therapy by 10%.
  • Range increasing add-ons no longer increase the width of the Shock Therapy, only the length. See the add-on changes below for more information.
  • Reduce charging move speed to 67% normal from 70% normal to keep the speed the same at 3.08 m/s.
  • Madness regresses while outside the Terror Radius, and does not regress while inside it.
  • “Order” – Class I add-on: Slightly increases the Madness inflicted by Static Blast.
  • “Order” – Class II add-on: Moderately increases the Madness inflicted by Static Blast.
  • “Order” – Carter’s Notes add-on: Considerably increases the Madness inflicted by Static Blast.
  • “Calm” – Class I add-on: Slightly increases terror radius while Static Blast is ready. Slightly decreases terror radius while Static Blast is on cooldown.
  • “Calm” – Class II add-on: Moderately increases terror radius while Static Blast is ready. Moderately decreases terror radius while Static Blast is on cooldown.
  • “Calm” – Carter’s Notes add-on: Considerably increases terror radius while Static Blast is ready. Considerably decreases terror radius while Static Blast is on cooldown.
  • Moldy Electrode add-on: Slightly increases charge time and attack range of Shock Therapy.
  • Polished Electrode add-on: Moderately increases charge time and attack range of Shock Therapy.
  • High-Stimulus add-on: Considerably increases charge time and attack range of Shock Therapy.
  • Interview Tape add-on: Rarity changed from Uncommon to Rare.
  • “Obedience” – Carter’s Notes add-on: Rarity changed from Very Rare to Rare. Skill checks have a considerable chance to turn counter-clockwise for Survivors with Madness 2/3.
  • Scrapped Tape: Name changed to Iridescent Queen. Rarity changed from Uncommon to Ultra Rare. Survivors hit with Shock Therapy or Static Blast acquire a lingering Static Charge. If a Survivor with Static Charge is within 4 meters of another Survivor, the Survivor receives a shock with identical effects as the Shock Therapy and Static Blast.
  • Iridescent King add-on: Shock Therapy and Static Blast cause the Survivor to gain a random Madness affliction.
  • Renamed the Shock Therapy score event to Pacified.
  • Added a score event for hitting Survivors with Static Blast (Tranquilized – 300 Bloodpoints).

Static Blast

Static Blast is a new mechanic for The Doctor. We removed the Treatment Mode and the ability to switch between modes. The Doctor will always be able to hit with his primary weapon, use Shock Therapy (which now has a 1.5-second cooldown), and can use Static Blast. Static Blast takes 2 seconds to activate, and has a 60 second cooldown. Effects:

  • The Doctor’s Static Blast causes all Survivors within his terror radius to gain 50 Madness points.
  • The Doctor will laugh if the Static Blast affects any Survivor.
  • Affected Survivors will scream; they give away their location if their Madness level increases.
  • Survivors outside the Terror Radius hear a direction-neutral audio cue when the ability is being charged and when it fires.
  • Survivors inside the Terror Radius hear direction-revealing audio cues for the charge and fire of the ability.
  • Scoring event for hitting Survivors.

Snap Out Of It adjustments

  • Missing a skill check will regress the progression bar by 1/4th instead of all the way.
  • Skill checks will trigger at every quadrant of the progress bar.
  • Releasing the Snap Out Of It action will keep the progress made instead of resetting.
  • Snapping Out Of It sends Survivors to Madness Level 1 instead of Level 2.

Treatment Theatre map update

  • Completely reworked the visual look and feel of the map.
  • Made the map darker.
  • Changed the layout to be more rectangular than square.
  • Added flickering signs in the hallways near rooms that spawn generators.
  • Hid totems better.
  • Made each map tile unique (no repeated tiles).
  • Balanced the distribution and safety of pallets.
  • Balanced the distribution of hooks.
  • Updated the logic of vault spawns and activations for the Doctor’s Office and the Treatment Room.

UI Improvements

  • Progress bars for Killer powers will now show the Killer’s power icon.
  • Added platform prompts when accepting / claiming a Challenge node in the Archives.
  • Changed the level icon shapes in the Tome from squares to diamonds.
  • The level navigation menu becomes golden when a Tome is mastered.

Gears 5 Update 1.1.145.0 Now Live, Here’s What’s in Title Update 4

Gears 5 developer, The Coalition, has rolled out the next big update (Gears 5 Title Update 4) and it’s live! With this update comes many changes to the game, including Ghasher improvement, new characters, map changes and a new event. All of this comes free of charge after Gears dropped the season pass model it had with Gears 4. Check out the full Gears 5 Update 1.1.145.0 patch notes below.

The Lunar New Year event kicks off this week that comes with a free for all golden gun game mode. The mode pits 14 players with one shot kill pistols for a fight to the death. Pick up 108 kills in this special event to earn the Year of the Rat Blood Spray and the Golden Gun Boltok Weapon Skin. Fan favourite character, Kantus, makes his Gears 5 debut this week. You can earn him by completing totem challenges or purchase the character. A reminder to those that purchased the Operation: Free For All bundle, Kantus comes included free of charge and will be made available on this release schedule:

10 am PT:  Title Update 4 rolls out available for download. Kantus will not be available.

12:30pm – 1pm PT: Live Update 1 deployed

  • Kantus becomes available to earn through the Kantus Totem.
  • Existing Operation 2: Free For All bundle owners will receive the Kantus Character.
    • It may take up to 1-2 hours to appear. You will need to relaunch the title to test if your character has appeared.
  • Kantus Character added to the Operation 2: Free For All bundle.

3 pm PT: Live Update 2 deployed. The Kantus is available for individual purchase through the Store.

Along with Kanus comes much-needed fixes to parts of the game. The Gnasher shotgun is being fixed after an investigation into inconsistencies that were brought up by the community. This arrives in Live Update 1 scheduled for 1 pm PT on Tuesday. This will not be active with the release of the TU at 10 am. You can read more about the changes here.

Changes to the map Icebound are also on the way. The map was very slow and disliked by the community as a whole. The Coalition has updated the map with the following changes:

Layout Change: The mantle cover at the top of each tower’s slope slide has now been removed. This adds a new vulnerable flank to allow this strong position to be countered more easily.

Weapon Layout Changes: The weapon layout has been modified to provide more options to counter the strong tower positions and allow players to traverse the ice area more easily.

Lock: Frag Grenades have been removed and replaced with a Dropshot.

Middle Ice: Cryo Cannon has moved to the center of the ice, replacing the original Dropshot location

Trading Post: Cryo Cannon has been moved and is now a Torque Bow

Market/Radio: Boltoks have been replaced with Enforcers

Stable Spawn/Power Spawn: Incendiaries and Shock Grenades remain the same

KOTH: The ground level tower rings (at the bottom of the slides) have moved into the interior of the towers where the Enforcer spawns. Player spawns have been updated to cater to these changes.

Escalation: There are now three weapon placement slots on the centerline, up from 2. This is to be at parity with all the other maps.

Gameplay Updates:

  • Added new ‘Simple’ Omen Option
  • Added a menu toggle between Simple (new) and Immersive (existing) Omen options
  • Reduced overall redness for Immersive Omen
  • Added new unique damage indicators for receiving active damage on The Omen
  • Damage indicators will now fade immediately upon removal of an incoming threat (e.g. Enemy shooting you was killed). The most recent damage indicator will otherwise remain on the Omen until health has started regenerating
  • Fixed an issue that hid the Omen momentarily when being grabbed as a meatshield
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the Omen to flicker with dynamic resolution changes

  • Kantus added to character roster

  • Baird’s Experimental Weapons card no longer applies to heavy weapons
  • Lahni’s Shock Chain card now functions correctly again

Maps:

  • Icebound: New geometry changes, weapon layouts and ring updates to improve gameplay
  • The Pit: When scoping with a Longshot on a slide, the scope will now appear and accurately show where your shot will land
  • The Pit: Fixed an issue that could cause players on slides to float/fly or move erratically

Fixes and Improvements:

  • Added stats for FFA Quickplay and Arcade Blitz

  • Fixed an issue where users would sometimes not be able to finish a Hive playthrough on Map Builder when verifying with more than one user
  • Fixed an issue causing global chat to not display for both teams
  • Fixed an issue that could sometimes cause the front-end menus to enter into a broken state if a lobby dissolves immediately
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the step-down animation from playing when a user cover slipped over a drop-down
  • Fixed an issue where LTing with a heavy weapon near High Cover would drag the player into cover leaving them unable to LT
  • Meatshields can now be grenade tagged by opponents
  • Added messaging to alert users to already owned content when viewing bundles (such as the Operation 2 Bundle)
  • Horde: Resolved a bug that could cause Level 4 MG / Shock Sentries or Weapons Lockers to be unable to be picked up after being healed and then placed inside a piece of cover
  • Horde: Fixed an issue that could cause a user to be unable to move after being saved by Jack from a DBNO struggle with an enemy
  • Horde: Fixed an issue that could cause negative damage values in the scoreboard
  • Guardian: Players who Join In Progress or Rejoin will now be able to respawn if their leader is alive
  • Tiles: Minor fixes to address LOD and lighting issues on several tiles
  • Keyboard: Key binding any movement, combat or actions to “K” will now work on Allfather’s Arena
  • PC: Fixed a crash that could occur shortly after launch

  • Versus: Improved lighting on the MVP screen
