Report: DOOM Eternal Battle Pass Confirmed Along With “Boosters” (Update)

While video game publishers seem to have moved away from map packs and the like, it seems Battle Passes are now quickly becoming the go-to source of post-release revenue for most games. If this latest look at DOOM Eternal is any indication, we should be getting a DOOM Eternal Battle Pass available at launch.

In Giant Bomb’s 30-minute gameplay look at the game, near the end, you’ll see the familiar Battle Pass rank up and progression screen. In another part, you can also clearly see a “Boosters” category in the menu, which we presume will be for paid boosters in order to progress through your DOOM Eternal Battle Pass quicker.

You can catch the stuff in the screens above right around the 29-minute mark.

We’ve reached out to Bethesda about this and will update the post if we hear anything back.

Of course, given how successful games like Fortnite, Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare have been with the Battle Pass system, it’s only a matter of time until other games do the same, and it seems that time is happening now.

Are you OK with DOOM Eternal employing a Battle Pass system assuming it only rewards cosmetic items? Or should publishers re-think this method lest players quickly sour at it?

Update 1/31/20: We got an email from Bethesda stating that DOOM Eternal won’t feature any paid Battle Pass. When asked about the boosters, the studio said they aren’t talking about it at this time. Read the entire story about that here.

Modern Warfare Invisible Glitch Triggered by Purchaseable Skin, Ghost Teased in Piccadilly

While we’ve already posted about “invisible players” in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare before, it’s mostly something that players don’t have control over or maybe some weird netcode issue. Well, there’s a new Modern Warfare invisible glitch for players that seems to happen for those who bought one of the Operator skins for sale.

Spotted by streamer cKorrupt, the Dallas Empire alternate outfit from the COD League team kit lets players become invisible at a certain distance. Don’t believe me? Check it out for yourself below.

Hopefully this bug is amended soon, or I can see people spending actual money just to pad their kill-death ration using this exploit.

In other Call of Duty news, Infinity Ward has dropped a big-time Ghost tease once again. For those that aren’t keeping tabs, the studio has sneakily inserted Ghost teases in all of the multiplayer maps that have televisions by showing or flashing Ghost’s face. This time though. it’s a full-blown in-your-face thing (image via The_seuss) which can be seen in the center portion of the Piccadilly map!

We’re not sure if this means a new Operator is coming, a skin for one of the Operators, or something else entirely.

For those unaware, Ghost is the nickname of Lieutenant Simon “Ghost” Riley,” who was a Birtish special forces operator in past Call of Duty games. If you spot more Ghost teases in the game, let us know via email and we’ll credit you with the find.

Destiny 2 Next Update Will Focus on Performance

Bungie has announced that the Destiny 2 next update is releasing next week. and will include a number for fixes regarding game performance as Bungie has detailed in their latest blog post.

Over on Bungie.net, the dev team has outlined some of their bigger improvements that are set to come with Destiny 2 update 2.7.1 sometimes next week (most likely Tuesday/Wednesday.) Note these aren’t all the fixes coming in the update, just big ones around performance improvements.

  • Improved some performance issues in the Chamber of Suffering encounter.
  • Fixed an issue where players could die when transitioning from the Necropolis encounter to the Tunnels of Despair.
  • Improved a performance issue that could occur when chunks of land return, or are removed during the Sanctified Mind encounter.
  • Improved performance when receiving certain investment-related messages. This could be reward acquisition, placing tributes, or interacting with Obelisks.
      • The largest impact will be in the Tower, but this should help everywhere.
  • Players who load into Crucible matches faster than their peers will no longer be put in black screen. Rather, they will remain in spaceflight until all players have loaded into the match, as before.

These aren’t the only fixes, however, as Bungie has also confirmed that they are in the process of testing out fixes that’ll improve frame-rate in several areas of Destiny 2. They didn’t specify when these frame-rate fixes would hit other than Bungie hoping to get them out by the start of next season.

  • UI stuttering and framerate drops when loading or applying mods
  • Framerate issues in Gambit and Gambit Prime
  • Framerate issues during the Sanctified Mind encounter of the Garden of Salvation Raid
  • Framerate issues in the Pit of Heresy Dungeon, specifically in tunnel encounters
  • General improvements to performance on PC when a lot of debris is on the ground

We will have the full patch notes posted once they are released next week.

Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled Update Today Skids Out, Here’s What’s in 1.18

While Beenox just released a hefty Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled patch last week that introduced the Rustland Grand Prix event and content, the studio has rolled out a new Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled update today!

Players will see this as Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled update 1.18, and it’s at a hefty 3.6GB on PS4. No official patch notes have been released by Beenox, unfortunately, and based on what was dug by the community, the only thing different is that Crash Bandicoot is now holding The Game Awards trophy in the title screen (which I’m not certain, but could already be there even before this patch). The trophy Crash holds is for the game winning Best Sports/Racing Game at this past December’s The Game Awards.

Other than that, it only lists “General bug fixes” as the other stuff in this patch. That said, there is the possibility that Beenox snuck in some game files for the next Grand Prix, though that’s unlikely.

If you spot any changes made by today’s Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled patch, let us know what you find down in the comments. Once we know more details regarding this patch, or if we get official patch notes, we’ll update the post.

Overwatch Hero Bans Not Happening According to Blizzard

Those looking for Blizzard Entertainment to implement hero bans in Overwatch soon, don’t hold your breath. Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan recently went to the game’s official forums to talk about Overwatch hero bans, and why it’s not a good idea.

Kaplan notes that they are not opposed to the idea of hero bans entirely, but there are a number of reasons why they’re not implementing it ASAP even if it has worked for other games.

Coming at this from a game design focus, the number one thing we ask is, “what is the problem that we’re trying to solve?” We’re not fans of just adding ideas that are in other games “just because”. We call this bottom-up design. Sometimes the right design decision for one game, is a terrible decision for another game – even if the two games are very similar. For example, with World of Warcraft we did not impose forced grouping, a slow leveling curve and a punishing death penalty with level loss “just because” the other successful MMO’s had those features at the time. And as a player of those other MMO’s, I thought they were the correct decision for those games. But not for WoW.

According to Kaplan, whenever Overwatch hero bans are discussed, it usually revolves around a few key reasons:

 People do not like that the meta stagnates. They believe with hero bans, they will be able to “ban out” the meta heroes thus moving the meta. In general, the meta not moving is perceived by the player-base as bad
 People are frustrated with the balance of certain heroes. With hero bans, they feel like they can “ban out” the heroes they are frustrated with
 People do not like playing against certain heroes. With hero bans, they feel like they can “ban out” a hero they don’t want to play against

He further stresses that implementing hero bans won’t mean that the meta will move, but rather, the end result is usually a “ban meta.”

Another reason why Kaplan doesn’t think this is a good idea is the simple fact that some people want bans just because they don’t want playing against certain heroes.

The other reason I listed was that people do not like playing against certain heroes. To this, I am going to give an answer that is not going to be very popular. Basically, it’s a PvP game. You don’t get to pick what the enemy team does. The challenge is overcoming the enemy team with teamwork, ingenuity and skill. It feels really off to me that the other team dictates how or what I play. So if your reason is that you don’t want to play against certain heroes, I think we’ll agree to disagree on this point. We’ve changed out minds in the past. But that’s where we’re at for now.

I hear a lot of people attack hero bans because they only want to play one hero, or “one trick”… To this, I think our stance is pretty clear. Overwatch is a game about mastering many heroes. We don’t expect you to master them all, but you should play a few of the characters. Now, we don’t explicitly prevent you from only playing one hero. But we also don’t encourage it. We think the game is more fun for everyone involved if you play at least a handful of the heroes. That’s how the game is designed. So defending “one tricking” does not factor in for us when it comes to our opinion on hero bans. We want the meta to move more and one tricking contributes to meta issues. Again, we’re not against one-tricking but we’re not going to overly enable or encourage it. That’s our stance.

Kaplan notes that the studio is looking for the game patches and hero re-work to even things out that they won’t need to resort to bans.

You can read Kaplan’s entire forum post here.

Don’t forget that Overwatch is celebrating the Lunar New Year with an in-game event!

Here’s a List of Known Modern Warfare Update 1.13 Stealth Changes

In case you didn’t know, a rather huge Call of Duty: Modern Warfare patch was rolled out earlier this week with version number 1.13. While this brought a list of gameplay changes and whatnot, it also seems to have done a number of stealth nerfs and changes too.

For those curious, here’s a list of the known Modern Warfare update 1.13 stealth changes (meaning Infinity Ward didn’t disclose these changes in the notes or publicly) that we know of, as well as changes that aren’t working the way they should as intended.

Modern Warfare update 1.13 stealth changes:

  • Playing the objectives will NOT charge your Field Upgrades; kills will but capping flags, getting tags in Kill Confirmed, etc., won’t help charge your Field Upgrades.
  • FN-Scar 17 horizontal recoil reduce is actually a vertical reduction. Notes mention it as horizontal recoil reduction (image via XclusiveAce):

  • Crash map A flag air conditioning unit made bigger as to make the player more exposed (pic via Reddit user liqhtshow):

  • RAM-7 extended mag attachment still gives 45 bullets instead of the listed 50
  • Stopping Power change listed as “Fix for Stopping Power Rounds not applying the correct damage boost to headshots” but makes it a two-shot kill for the FAL and Oden post-patch (it was a one-hit kill for upper torso except headshots pre-patch).

Objective bar for capping flags, etc., has been moved higher and fades out as to not obstruct view (via Szozzo):

So far, the stuff listed above are what we know that got stealth changed without any mention in the patch notes. If we find more, we’ll add it to the post. Why is Infinity Ward doing this? Your guess is as good as mine, but it is annoying for gamers to have to test these things to find out.

Have you noticed any other changes not mentioned in the patch notes? If so, share them in the comments.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Next Patch Set for End of January, Here’s What’s Planned for T1.1.0

For those playing Ghost Recon Breakpoint, it’s been some time since we got an official update to the game. Thankfull, that’s about to change now. Ubisoft has revealed some of the contents included in the Ghost Recon Breakpoint next patch, which is pegged for release at the “end of January,” which should be any day next week.

Called TU (Title Update) 1.1.0, it will include a bunch of fixes for the Night Vision, AI and more.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint TU 1.1.0

This TU will address the following changes, among others:

  • Made improvements to Night Vision.
  • Sharpshooter exploit with DMR rifles addressed in all modes (PvP, Raid, PvE).
  • Players who previously lost their Thermal / Night Vision will get it back after loading their save.
  • Players who previously lost their Water Canteen or Binoculars will get them back after loading their save.
  • Rebalanced Stamina for PvP after it was buffed in a previous TU.
  • Toned down the coughing sounds players could hear while in Erewhon.
  • Enemies will no longer shout in pain after being shot in the head.
  • Improved AI behavior:
    • Fixed an issue where enemies investigating will go to cover mid-detection.
    • If enough NPCs die at a single spot, they will stop rushing the player and will get into cover more often than before.
    • We also modified the vanish rules so that NPCs will stay in the fight if they are close enough to the player.
  • The Digital Scope now has multiple levels of zoom.

Note that the items above aren’t the complete list of changes just yet.

In addition to Ghost Recon Breakpoint next patch set for the end of the month, the studio also Terminator Live Event (which was delayed to this year), will be hitting the game “soon.” There’s also more stuff planned for February which includes the Engineer class as well as an “immersive experience” that the studio is planning to unveil.

id Software: People Will Be “Shocked” at How Deep DOOM Eternal Multiplayer Is

While DOOM 2016 was a huge success, warranty a sequel to be created, id Software felt that the multiplayer wasn’t good enough for the fans and have stated that they are proud of the work they’ve done with DOOM Eternal multiplayer.

In a recent interview with GamesBeat (via WCCFTech), id Software Creative Director Hugo Martin spoke a bit about the multiplayer saying that fans wanted id Software to lead, rather than follow others in their footsteps of the multiplayer offering.

We’re very proud of that, and we’re excited for fans to try it. I think they’re going to be shocked at how deep it is. On the surface, it might look like checkers, but once you get your hands on it you realize it’s more like chess.

DOOM 2016 was one of the year’s best titles, and it’s multiplayer wasn’t at all bad, though it’s clear from this statement that id Software wanted to offer a lot more, which is what DOOM Eternal may be set to offer when it releases.

We ourselves have been left pretty impressed with all the footage that they have released and seeing that the game was delayed for more polishing it’ll only be interesting to see how much more DOOM Eternal will have improved.

DOOM Eternal is releasing on March 20 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.

Apex Legends Season 4 “Assimilation” Revealed, New Champion, Weapon & More

While Apex Legends players still have the Grand Soiree Arcade Event now, those who want something meatier might already be looking ahead to Apex Legends Season 4. Today, Respawn Entertainment has revealed the details of Apex Legends Season 4, which is called “Assimilation.” As one might expect, there are new weapons, a new legend and more.

The new legend’s name is Forge. He’s a brawler and a five-time champion of the Hyper Fighting League. ” He’s conquered the MMA world, and now he wants to conquer another with the Apex Games,” Respawn game writer Tom Casiello said on the livestream. Forge is also the first legend who is corporate-sponsored by Hammond Robotics. Titanfall fans will recognize that the name being a major manufacturing, aerospace and defence contractor allied with the IMC. Hammond produces considerable amounts of war material for the IMC cause, including Titans, Marvins and Spectres. Significant map changes are coming to World’s Edge. Although Respawn didn’t say much about the changes, they did mention that Hammond might have something to do with those changes.

A new weapon shown called the Sentinel. It’s a bolt-action sniper rifle and comes with a charge mechanic for shooting. Again, Respawn is tight-lipped on how the gun worked but did mention that the charge will influence decisions by the player if they should take its most powerful shot or the lighter shots.

Changes to ranked are included in Season 4, Respawn are replacing the Apex tier rank with master tier. Apex tier will only be granted to those that are the top 500 on each platform, so it is possible to fall out of the tier based on other players performance. They are also cutting the ranked seasons in half with a reset to ranks halfway through season 4. The biggest news included in the splitting of ranked is that the first half will take place on the World’s Edge map, with the second half taking place on the original King’s Canyon map.

The resets on ranks are soft resets, meaning that you will be deranked two full tiers, and asked to start ranking again from there. So if you are in platinum two at the end or middle of the season, you will enter the next season or split in silver two. The rewards for end of season rank will take into effect your highest position between both splits. Meaning if you hit gold in the first half, and diamond in the second, you will get the diamond rewards at the end of the season. If you achieve the same tier in both splits, you are rewarded with an animated icon based on the tier, instead of the standard static icon.

Also, coming with the new season are rewards for Apex’s first anniversary. Logging into Apex when the new season drops will net you a paper crane gun charm, an XP boost, and three different badges that players can receive. These will be rewarded based on when you first started playing Apex and will give those day one players a way to show off their legacy in the game.

More will be shown off through the next couple of weeks, and Respawn says they have a lot more to tease for Apex Legends Season 4. The new season kicks off on February 4, 2020.

Modern Warfare Patch Notes Included Fixes That Arent Present in Game, IW Explains Why

If you’re a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer fan, chances are high that the first thing you did after seeing yesterday’s patch went live is checking out the patch notes to see the list of gameplay changes Infinity Ward has made.

Unfortunately though, it seems the patch notes aren’t exactly telling the truth this time. While we’ve already experienced stealth nerfs from Infinity Ward (changes made in the game but aren’t documented in the patch notes), this time it’s different, some of the fixes and changes listed as part of update 1.13, aren’t actually in the game!

One of the most requested community changes was player collision adjustments and how it’s annoying being “pushed” in-game by teammates. While Infinity Ward has listed as follows:

Fix for a bug that allowed player collision. This has been fixed

Well, nope. That hasn’t been fixed at all. Over on the game’s subreddit, people have chimed in on this non-change, and why it was included as fixed.

Player collision is NOT fixed!!!!
byu/whtevrwt inmodernwarfare

Another one of these “fake” changes include the RAM-7 assault rifle magazine attachment that Infinity Ward says has been buffed to include 50 bullets instead of 45, but that sadly isn’t the case.

1.13 patch notes told us the RAM-7 extended mags were buffed to 50 rounds instead of 45 rounds. However, this is not the case.
byu/Drop-rate inmodernwarfare

Infinity Ward Senior Communications Manager Ashton Williams hopped in to the game’s subreddit to explain why this has happened (at least in the RAM-7’s case):

Be on the lookout for a fix for this in a future update. Looks like the original fix was adjusted today, after the fact, so it’s appearing in the notes.

Mini update: Call of Duty YouTuber Xclusive Ace dropped a video detailing more changes in the patch notes that aren’t actually true. In the patch notes, Infinity Ward mentioned that the Stopping Power Field Upgrade was tweaked to:

Fix for Stopping Power Rounds not applying the correct damage boost to headshots

Based on Ace’s testing, this isn’t true at all. Testing the FAL and Oden assault rifles, those guns when using Stopping Power pre-patch (1.13) could one-hit kill enemies when hit on the upper torso, though it wouldn’t kill in one hit with headshots. After the 1.13 patch, Infinity Ward has made it so that the Oden and FAL cannot one-hit kill using Stopping Power at all — be it headshots or upper torso shots.

Well, there you have it, folks. It seems someone tampered with the patch (or patch notes) so that’s why it wasn’t included in this roll out.

If you notice other changes included in the patch notes but aren’t actually in the game, let us know what they are in the comments below.

Battlefield V Upcoming Patch Changes in 6.0 & 6.2 Outlined

If you’re a Battlefield V player, chances are you’ve experienced the gameplay and gunplay changes DICE introduced in patch 5.2.2. While the studio has acknowledged that it will look at player data before making any big changes, we now have a small idea of the Battlefield V upcoming patch changes straight from the devs.

In today’s Battlefield V Community Broadcast, Community Manager PartWelsh gave a preview of Battlefield V patch 6.0 and even in 6.2 and some of the stuff included in both patches. Those looking forward to time-to-kill (TTK) changes, you’ll be getting that, but not in the next patch it seems.

In Update 6.2, we’ll be publishing a series of further changes designed to address the learning’s based on your feedback and game data. Full details will be shared after we’ve launched Update 6.0, but in short, you’re going to find that in close quarters much of the same Recoil, and Rate of Fire that you’re previously accustomed to will return.

We will continue to operate a damage model that ensures that weapons that are designed to be lethal in close quarters will still do less damage beyond 30M than experienced in 5.0, however we’re making adjustments to the damage curves to ensure that the damage drop off doesn’t feel as instant or severe. Weapons that should be more effective at range such as the Semi Auto Rifles and Pistol Carbines will have their damage drop offs extended, ensuring that they regain a purpose closer to their design and perform significantly better at range. Similar changes are also being made across MG’s and AR’s, and I will keep you updated as we finalize the design, and move them into a shippable state.

While that will be in patch 6.2, DICE has also talked a bit about the upcoming Battlefield V 6.0 update. Full details regarding this will be shared leading up to the update’s release, though there’s no definite date for that yet. What 6.0 does is add new content, since it will also introduce Chapter 6.

Update 6.0 primarily focuses on providing you with all new content to set the scene for our next Chapter. A New Map, New Weapons, and New Gadgets.

In Chapter 6, we’ll continue to move Weapons and Gadgets out of Weekly Rewards and into Chapter Rank Rewards as we’ve seen a great response to that throughout War in the Pacific.

We’ve seen New Weapon ownership double thanks to this approach in Chapter 5, and so we’re keen to see how we will improve that across our next Chapter. We’ve also tweaked the earn rate of Chapter XP at End of Round to better reward players who place higher on the scoreboard, to ensure that your performance across the round is better rewarded.

There will otherwise be a handful of focused Vehicle Balancing changes performed in Update 6.0, as well as a small selection of fixes and changes to Maps that we were able to identify and develop solutions for at the end of last year.

The studio closes this day’s broadcast by saying that patch 6.2 will be more expansive in terms of fixes and adjustments, so the studio is asking for patience while that’s being tinkered with.

The Division 2 Recalibration Changes and Skill Power Tweaks Coming After Episode 3

In yesterday’s The Division 2 State of the Game developer stream, Ubisoft Massive talked about The Division 2 recalibration changes and also changes to Skill Power. Given this is a huge change to the current meta, the studio has this planned for release after Episode 3.

Here’s a summary of the stuff shown in the latest State of the Game:

  • Recalibration stat storing will let players extract Talents, attributes, and more from weapons and gear, and save them in a library to apply to like items.
  • A new Skill Tier system replaces Skill Power, letting players buff their Skills by wearing gear pieces with the Skill Tier core attribute.
  • The stream also included brief video Q&As with Senior Game Designer Trick Dempsey and Senior Game Designer Nikki Kuppens.

As for The Division 2 Recalibration changes and Skill Power refactorization, check ’em out below.

RECALIBRATION STAT STORING

  • Currently, recalibration requires players to keep a stash of gear pieces to potentially recalibrate other gear in the future.
  • The overhaul aims to make the process more intuitive and fun, while still allowing players to customize items.
  • When players find gear with a high roll, they will be able extract it and save it in a Recalibration Library to apply to other gear later – essentially “learning” it.
  • The new gear system will let players recalibrate Talents, stats, core stats, and mod slots.
  • The new direction with brand-set bonuses, in addition to the attribute rolls, is that the brand sets match a profile that is either offensive, defensive, utility, or skill-based, with a few hybrid exceptions.
  • The Recalibration Library will display stored Talents and attributes by weapon or gear type, letting players quickly find improvements for specific items.
  • The library will also let players know when gear in their inventory has a better attribute than what they’ve stored. This gives players a chance to extract the new attribute (destroying the original gear in the process) and apply it repeatedly to any future gear of the same type.
  • The developers are still deciding whether to limit the Recalibration Library to a per-character basis, or to make it account-wide.
  • Finding all the “god rolls” to max out each gear item will add a new collection metagame aspect to recalibration.

SKILL POWER REFACTORIZATION

  • Skill Tier will replace Skill Power, and Skills scale directly with it.
  • Skill Tier is available only as a core attribute on gear, and will improve Skills directly.
  • There are six Skill Tiers; each item with the Skill Tier core attribute will add one tier to your Agent. Players who wear six pieces of gear with Skill Tier will attain max Skill Tier.
  • Each Skill Tier will boost Skill stats and abilities, and each Skill has a different setup for how it scales with higher Skill Tiers.
  • Deployed Skills will display their Tiers, giving players a clearer understanding of what they can do.
  • Skill mods will still be available, and will work similarly to weapon mods, adding percentage modifiers to Skills.
  • Using certain Exotic or gear-set Talents, players can temporarily enter an Overcharge state, which ramps up Skill stats to super-powerful levels.

If you’re looking forward to Episode 3, it’s scheduled to go out this February and will not include a new raid. Here’s an overview of content planned by the studio for Episode 3.

Cancelled Mortal Kombat Kollection Online has Been Rated by PEGI

Reported as being cancelled back in 2018, a new rating was recently published by PEGI, suggesting that the Mortal Kombat Kollection Online project is still very well much alive.

Unsurprisingly, the Kollection has been rated “18” by the Pan European Game Information board. As for the platform, according to the rating listing the title will be releasing for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and the Nintendo Switch. We’ve yet to hear on anything relating to the project since it’s a cancellation, though with it being rated by PEGI we certainly can see one happening real soon.

If you can remember, last October Co-creator of Mortal Kombat and creative director of NetherRealm Studios Ed Boon revealed in an interview that he and his team had a “big surprise” coming this year.

With Mortal Kombat 11 concluding it’s Kombat Pass in March with Spawn, many are speculating that this surprise may lead into a season 2 pass. Though, now with the possibility of Mortal Kombat Kollection Online being on the table again, that would certainly get fans pumped up as the Kollection promised a restoration of the original three Mortal Kombat games with new online features and re-drawn visuals. We aren’t sure if they’ll be simple ports or if a team had picked up where the other left off to finish the Kollection, but for now, take this listing as a grain of salt as nothing is official yet.

Modern Warfare Crossbow Challenges Are Bugged

One of the biggest additions included in yesterday’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare patch was the introduction of the new crossbow weapon! Unfortunately though, multiple gamers have chimed in that the Modern Warfare crossbow challenges are not tracking properly.

Over on Reddit, people are reporting that their challenges are stuck and not tracking.

Other players have tried different scopes with it to no avail, as it’s still bugged.

Unfortunately, this Modern Warfare crossbow challenges bug is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to issues concerning yesterday’s patch. Not only are players encountering stat reset issues, but there’s even a download loop that’s really infuriating to deal with.

Have you encountered this crossbow issue? And more importantly, have you found a fix? If so, share ’em down in the comments to help the other players out.

Modern Warfare Spec Ops Pack Download Loop Fix

In case you didn’t know, Infinity Ward issued a big Call of Duty: Modern Warfare patch yesterday that not only included gameplay changes, but also brought with it, a host of different issues too. After downloading the main patch, players will be asked to download another big patch, which, for the PS4 is called the Spec Ops pack.

Unfortunately though, after downloading the 13GB Spec Ops pack, some players still can’t start the game, and will be asked to download it again! This is something that has happened to me, and if this has happened to you, or know someone who experienced it, there’s a possible Modern Warfare Spec Ops pack download loop fix!

Two people from the community posted the same kind of Modern Warfare Spec Ops pack download loop fix!

Spec Ops download loop… fix? (PS4)

Possible fix for Spec Ops pack download loop

Aside from that, there’s also two other methods listed below.

There is a multiplayer update pack you need to download from the store separate from the game update. I had to go to the ps4 store and find it myself.

Don’t connect online cancel connecting to servers then click on multiplier local. It will take you to the pack. There is currently an additional issue of the spec ops pack also on a download loop so beware of that

So far, it seems the PS4 is the only platform affected by this, and I hope you’re not in the same boat I am, as I am now redownloading the entire game data since I ddn’t see the fix on time.

Modern Warfare Stat Reset & Error Prompt Issue: Infinity Ward Issues Update

If you’ve been keeping tabs or have tried downloading yesterday’s big Call of Duty: Modern Warfare patch, you might have come across an issue or two in trying to play the game or even downloading it. It was so bad that some players reported on Modern Warfare stat reset bugs and whatnot happening to their accounts.

Infinity Ward is thankfully aware of the situation and has issued a statement, which includes touching on the additional custom loadout issues.

Check out their letter to the community below.

Hi everyone,

We want to give a status update on the error prompt issue that occurred while rolling out today’s title update.

A backend fix has already been deployed across all platforms, so you won’t see a download prompt or see anything pop-up on screen to notify you a fix is available. This fix looks at two things:

Loadout Slots:

Part of today’s update included additional loadout slots. If you created classes in these slots, you’ll see that they have been reset back to default. This will only happen one time. If you didn’t create any additional classes in those slots, you won’t notice anything. This also fixes an issue where clicking on these slots could kick some players back to the multiplayer screen.

Error Prompt:

  • If you were presented with the error prompt and did not click “Yes” and closed the game, your stats are still intact. Feel free to play as usual.
  • If you did click “Yes” – you most likely noticed your stats in the combat record, leaderboards, custom classes, and Operators were reset. Nothing related to your progression was lost, so your rank, XP, Battle Pass progression, weapon progression, unlocks, purchases, etc., are all still intact.

We’re actively working on a fix for this, but do not have one to deploy tonight. You are still able to play the game as usual and your progression will still track, but please be aware that once we do have a fix, we may have to roll back your stats to the state they were in prior to today’s update.

We appreciate everyone’s patience while we work through this issue and thank you to everyone who has helped by sending us their information, videos, and screenshots. We’ll provide another update when we have more information for those whose stats were reset and again, thank you all for your patience.

Hopefully, a new patch can be deployed soon, as we’ve seen people report multiple problems with the game after the patch.

Have you experienced other issues after yesterday’s 1.13 patch? Let us know down in the comments.

Battlefield V Playlist Update Rolling Out Today

Those looking forward to your weekly dose of new Battlefield V Assignments, sadly, that will have to wait. DICE is prepping Chapter 6, which means we’ll have to settle with what’s already available when it comes to weekly rewards. That said, a new Battlefield V playlist update will be available today, which might help players feel a bit better.

In this week’s Battlefield V overview and event post by DICE, Battlefield Community Manager Jeff Braddock announced that the Extreme Weather playlist will shift to the Extreme Weather Breakthrough playlist which is also called as “Cats & Dogs.”

Extreme Weather Playlist will shift to Extreme Weather Breakthrough, aka “Cats & Dogs”

  • Fjell, Pacific Storm, Narvik, Aerodrome, Devastation, Hamada is the rotation, with each map being played twice so both sides get an opportunity to attack/defend.

Also of note, those looking forward to Chapter 6 and the new update rolled out alongside it, Braddock also mentioned that the studio is finalizing the gameplay changes included in it, and once they know more, they’ll share the patch notes and such.
