BioWare Wants to Add More Anthem Stronghold Missions “as Soon as Possible,” and Will Be Free

Just a few weeks ago, we reported that Anthem will have three Stronghold missions available at launch. For those not familiar with it, Stronghold missions are some of the game’s endgame activities, and will require a four-man team to coordinate with each other to complete. Think of them as a shorter version of Destiny’s Raids, though it’s definitely longer and meatier than Destiny’s Strike missions.

If you find that three Anthem Stronghold missions out of the gate is a tad too few, don’t worry too much as BioWare has confirmed that they want to add more Anthem Strongholds “as soon as possible,” and mentions that if they indeed add ’em, these missions will be free! This was revealed by Anthem Producer Ben Irving during a Discord chat with fans.

Ben Irving: We want to add more strongholds as soon as possible and then continue to do so.

Oh and when we add them they’ll be free.

In the same chat, Irving confirmed that BioWare will revamp the stat screen after every end of mission, and mentions how the UI “needs some love.”

Ben Irving: We we know the UI needs some love, the first phase of that will be in at launch, however I don’t think that’ll address the issue you outlined but we want to make that better after launch. Being a very loot based game we need to be much better at getting you the information in the easiest way.

Regarding an Anthem horde mode, Irving says that it has been discussed though they’ve got some other stuff to do before it gets implemented — if at all.

Ben Irving: It’s been discussed. I think we’ve got some other things to check off first though.

Lastly, Irving has also confirmed that BioWare has looked into endless dungeons or something of the sort, and adds that they are “SUPER difficult.”

Ben Irving: Yes and it is SUPER difficult.

That’s very welcome news regarding Strongholds, right? Let’s hope BioWare can churn these out soon-ish since you just know how some players will be gunning to finish e’m ASAP.

In other Anthem news, BioWare has cleared the air regarding microtransactions in the game, and also confirmed that guilds won’t be available at launch.

Former Sledgehammer Games Co-Founder Michael Condrey Joins 2K Games as President of New Game Development Studio

Here’s something that might come out of left field: Michael Condrey, the studio boss at Sledgehammer Games which developed  Call of Duty: WWII, has left Activision and is now the President of New Game Development Studio at 2K Games.

In the press release sent out by 2K Games, it’s mentioned that Condrey will “build and lead a new development team to work on an unannounced project.”

Condrey definitely has a beefy resume with more than 20 years of experience in the industry, with his last stint at Activision seeing him spearhead Call of Duty: WWII (2017), COD: Advanced Warfare (2014), and COD: Modern Warfare 3 (2011). In addition to that, Condrey also “led” the creation of a little known franchise known as Dead Space.

Here’s what Condrey had to say regarding the announcement:

Great games come from the passion of a team driven by the pursuit of quality and the empowerment of an independent studio model. 2K’s studios have creative and technical autonomy, backed by a world-class infrastructure of support, and that offers the perfect recipe to build a new studio and craft experiences that will lead the next generation of gaming for fans everywhere.

David and the dedicated people at 2K and Take-Two have an extensive history of rich and established brands, as well as a long tenure of executive leadership committed to supporting the ambitions of their independent studio teams.

Will Condrey bring his first-person expertise to 2K? Your guess is as good as mine at this point. Whatever he’s working on, we wish Condrey the best of luck.

4 RTS Games for Students to Develop Strategically Thinking

If you doubt that video games can help you in studying, then you’ve just been playing wrong games. See the list of 4 real-time strategies (RTS) that will help any student improve their way of thinking, decision-making skills and logic.

In fact, the RTS genre has tough times. The last big RTS hit was probably Halo Wars 2 which couldn’t show expected sales even despite its famous brand and talented developers. The last hope stands for Blizzard and their War craft rebirth, but probably even Art has does not know when that is going to happen. Nevertheless, the RTS genre gained huge respect and cult status among gamers throughout two decades of its blossom. In this article, we will mention 4 greatest strategies to play. After some time, your logics, strategically thinking and creativity will certainly become better to come up with interesting research topics for high school students.

Don’t you have time to play games or do other things because of studying? Remember that you can always order essay writers cheap to help you with academic tasks.

World in Conflict

Admirer so real-time strategies usually do not like modern setting in such games. They find modern conflicts not interesting comparing them to fantasy dragons and great sci-fi spacecrafts. In fact, we agree, but the setting of modern battle fields can be very attractive, too. World in Conflict proves this the best. The main feature of the game is that the player has absolutely no need to build any base: points to call for reinforcements can be gained by eliminating enemy units.

This approach makes World in Conflict the most dynamic real-time strategy. You don’t have time to stay in the starting position: the only way to win is to act as lightning and to tactically manage limited troops. In addition, there are great graphics and physics: despite the game came out in 2007, but it looks cool even today.

Stronghold

This is one of the most unusual RTS games. The main feature of Strong hold is the correct, balanced combination of a usual strategy and elements of city-development simulators. You can’t just grow the army and rush the enemy castle. There is the need to pay attention to the needs of your citizens, as the army will follow only the popular and commonly accepted leader.

Of course, you can always build a dictatorship and invest minimum funds into cultural development of the city through building gardens or monuments: this will save some money and allow you hire more soldiers. But the effectiveness of your troops will be significantly decreased in case you use such warfare methods. You will feel consequences during sieges or fights for castles.

StarCraft 2

The original Star Craft probably became the main event of the whole genre history, but we decided to mention the second part of the franchise in this article. Blizzard had a tough task: to create a full-scale sequel, to add new mechanics and units without breaking the usual game play which made Star Craft a star of esports disciplines. To honor Blizzard, we need to say they did everything well one more time.

The core of the game remained unchanged: it is the same crazily variable strategy where you have several thousands of tactical combinations to deal with your enemies effectively. But even if you are a casual player not willing to dive deeper into the game, Star Craft 2 is worth playing it a least because of 3 impressive story campaigns. Additionally, Blizzard offers everyone to download the basic version of Star Craft 2 for free since 2017.

Warcraft 3

warcraft Game

This game is the result of almost any top RTS list: War craft 3 is the leader. Thanks to the stylish and beautiful design, its graphics from 2004 looks great in 2019. In this strategy, you will doubtfully be able to find any disadvantages or failures.

The game play mechanics work like a Swiss clock and bring a lot off unto gamers during more than 15 years.

Additionally, Blizzard created just wonderful single-player campaign stories. No matter if you play original Reign of Chaos or the Frozen Throne add-on, you can count on dozens of variable missions and impressive CGI-movies. And the story here can compete with greatest quests or role-playing games. Well,

Blizzard knows how to wonder and impress gamers.

Anthem Guilds Won’t Be Available at Launch, BioWare Explains Alliance System

If you’ve played the Anthem demo and completed a mission, chances are you might have seen an Alliance bonus when it comes to XP. Now if you’re not familiar to what it is, and what constituted the bonus, here’s the official explanation.

BioWare Producer Ben Irving posted a message on Reddit announcing that Anthem guilds won’t be available at launch, and what the Anthem Alliance system is, and how it works.

The Alliance System – “What is That & How Does it Work?”

The Alliance system is a way for you and your friends to be rewarded for playing the game. Anytime you complete an expedition (Mission, Contract, Freeplay, Stronghold) you earn experience. That experience also goes into the Alliance system. Even better, the experience from the OTHER people in your group also goes into the alliance system. Even better STILL, players on your friends list who play without you – THEIR experience also goes into the Alliance System.

At the end of every week, you are awarded Coin (our in-game earned currency, used to purchase various items throughout the game) based on how much experience was contributed to the Alliance System. There are several tiers you can work through each week as well as a weekly cap. We want to encourage players to form friendships and play together and we’ve created the Alliance System to do just that!

Guilds – “What About Those?”

The short answer is, Guilds will not be available at launch. While we believe the Alliance System is a great way to encourage social interaction with Anthem, we also understand Guilds play a critical role in helping players form organized groups with people of similar interests and play styles. Our goal is to release guilds as soon after launch as we can. Details on timing will come as soon as we have our plan locked in. We want this to be awesome.

In other Anthem news, make sure to check out how combos work in the game via this handy cheat sheet graphic. BioWare has also cleared the air when it comes to Anthem microtransactions, which you should read about here.

Apex Legends Battle Royale Game Based in Titanfall Universe Confirmed, Will Debut Tomorrow

To no one’s surprise, Apex Legends, the battle royale game based on the Titanfall universe, is real! Over on Twitter, the official Respawn account has updated its profile cover image with the Apex Legends logo.

If that wasn’t enough, Geoff Keighley has also tweeted its existence as well.

And again, as more proof, the influencers who were given the first time to play with it are now tweeting about their time at Respawn’s studio, and even pictures of it! People like Dr. Disrespect, StoneMountain 64, DooM49, and lots more are using the tag “Apex Partner” to confirm that they’re part of the group invited to playtest the game.

From the info leaked so far, Apex Legends will be a battle royale game based on the Titanfall universe though it won’t feature actual Titans, will feature  60-player matches, will be free-to-play, and will be available on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Once we get gameplay tomorrow, or if anything leaks, we’ll be sure to let people know.

Vince Zampella, CEO of Respawn Entertainment, also revealed that we’ll be able to check out the livestream of the game tomorrow at 8 a.m. PT!

Are you hyped to play a battle royale game with what we presume will have Titanfall’s walljumping, and super fast movement gameplay mechanics?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Most Popular Specialist Is Recon According to Treyarch

If you regularly play Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and I asked you which Specialist is the most popular, chances are you’d say Ajax, Battery, Nomad or someone else that will easily get you kills, right? Well, it seems we’re wrong! Oh, so wrong!

According to Treyarch, the Black Ops 4 most popular Specialist is none other than Recon! Yes, the sensor dart throwing dude is the most used — believe it or not! If you boot up Black Ops 4 now, you’ll see the image below.

The text reads:

Time for a community spotlight! Today, we present the most-used Specialist in all of multiplayer: Recon.

Whether he’s marking enemies though walls with a Vision Pulse or reading I-Ching to calm his mind, Recon’s obviously a must-have on any squad. Passively picking-up XP for kills assisted through his abilities doesn’t hurt his case either.

Be on the lookout for more highlights to tain intel on what the community is up to. And try playing with Recon to see what all the fuss is about.

I’m sure Treyarch has data to back this up, but as someone who plays a ton of multiplayer, I still don’t believe Recon is the most popular Specialist given I see Prophet, Battery and the rest way more often.

Do you believe that Recon is the most popular Black Ops 4 Specialist in multiplayer? If not, who’s your pick?

Speaking of Specialists, go read up on our feature regarding Specialist spam and why it’s a problem that won’t be resolved anytime soon.

Dead or Alive 6 F2P Version Poppin Out Post-Launch

If you’re looking forward to Dead or Alive 6, but you’re lacking the funds to purchase it, rejoice! Team Ninja has confirmed that a free-to-play version of Dead or Alive 6 is indeed coming once the retail version has dropped.

This Dead or Alive 6 f2p version was confirmed by Dead or Alive 6 Director Yohei Shimbori in an interview with SiliconEra.

Speaking of the free to play version, the Xbox store showed Dead or Alive 6 Core Fighters recently. What can you tell us about that?

Shimbori: “First of all, about the listing on the Microsoft Store, that was a mistake from the development team. We do have plans to make a free-to-play version, but we haven’t announced when it will be available. We can promise it will be out post-launch of the full game. We can’t talk about it yet since we don’t have concrete details about what will be included yet. But, it will be similar to what we had with Dead or Alive 5: Core Fighters.”

For those who didn’t know, Dead or Alive 5: Core Fighters was a f2p verson of the DOA5, and only allowed four playable fighters to be used.

Dead or Alive 6 will punch its way out this March 1 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Report: New Titanfall Battle Royale Game to Be Released This Coming Monday, Will Be F2P (Update)

Update:

To further add to this rumor’s legitimacy, it seems EA has trademarked “Apex Legend” and yep, you guessed it, for “computer game software.” Odds are, we’ll get a trailer later soon or something, which we’ll post if ever we do.

Original Story:

Who doesn’t like megaton rumors? Well, it seems we have one now and this one seems to be legit, too. Multiple reports have now surfaced that a new Titanfall game is set to be announced and released very soon. How soon? Try releasing-this-Monday soon!

Said to be titled “Apex Legends,” this new Titanfall game will be one that’s based on battle royale! Yes, a Titanfall battle royale game is said to be coming this Monday, and what’s more, it’ll be free-to-play!

Apparently, YouTubers and streamers have already played the game, with Rod Breslau, eSports insider spilling the beans on Twitter.

His full set of tweets are as follows:

Sources who have played and have knowledge of the game confirm to me that Respawn is set to announce and release Apex Legends on Monday Feb 4, a free to play Titanfall Hero Battle Royale game for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Apex Legends will feature classes/heroes with unique abilities, maximum of 60 players per server, maximum of 3 players per team (trios) to compliment each other. No titans. Just as Titanfall and Titanfall 2, Apex Legends will run on a modified version of Valve’s Source engine.

Micro-transactions and lootboxes for cosmetic items and in-game content are said to be in Apex Legends with a very similar approach to that in Overwatch.

If that wasn’t enough, YouTuber TheQuartering (via ComicBook) has also mentioned the same details: that we’re getting a Titanfall battle royale game, it’ll be F2P, and will be released for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Once we get official confirmation, or gameplay, we’ll be sure to let readers know. If this is indeed true, which it seems to be given it’s been mentioned by EA that Respawn would be releasing two games in 2019 (the other one has been confirmed to be the Star Wars game), this is one heck of a surprise from Respawn and EA. Let’s hope the quality is on the same level of Titanfall 2, and if its, we’re in for a treat.

Anthem PC Controls and UI Overhauled for Launch, Here Are the Changes

If you’re playing Anthem on PC and find the flight controls, and even the UI (user interface) a tad harder than it needs to be, you’re not alone. Thankfully, BioWare has already modified how the Anthem PC controls for flight work, as well as the UI.

Over on Reddit, Producer Ben Irving posted the changes BioWare has made to the game’s PC controls and UI at launch. Yes, unfortunately, these changes won’t be felt in the demo that’s on-going now.

Anthem PC Controls – Aiming and Flight Changes:

Aiming

  • Raw Mouse Input Fixed
    • We found and fixed a bug that caused the symptom of negative acceleration

Flight and Swimming

  • Increase Available Range for Mouse Sensitivity Options
    • Flight and swim sensitivity sliders now allow for more than double the range it offered before. This allows different mouse DPI settings (specifically extremely high or low) to better fit into our in-game swim/flight sensitivity settings.
  • PC Flight Box is now a Circle
    • PC Flight Cursor is now constrained by a circle boundary instead of a box. This allows better turn/speed management as the distance away from center dot (which dictates the speed of your turn) is always the same maximum amount in any direction.
  • Added Auto-Centering for PC Flight
    • Added auto-centering behavior on swimming and flying by default for PC.
    • When mouse input stops (after a delay) the crosshair will automatically return to center.
  • Resolved bug with Sprint/Fly on Button Press
    • We’ve resolve a jittering/FX spam issue bug that players would receive when playing with hold-to-fly(rather than toggle) option for flight.
  • Raw Mouse Input is now achievable in PC Flight
    • By setting Flight/Swim Response and Precision settings sliders to 0% you can now achieve raw mouse input.
  • Default Flight and Swim Sensitivity Settings Updated
    • All default PC flight and swim sensitivity settings are now tuned to 1200 DPI instead of 1800 DPI.
    • Default flight and swim sensitivity changed from 50% and 35% respectively, to both being 40%.
      • This is the same as having both set to 100% with our previous sensitivity tuning, and since swimming was lower sensitivity than flight it’s seen an even bigger boost in responsiveness at default settings.
  • Tuned Flight/Swim Response and Precision Default Settings and Curves
    • The defaults are now much closer to raw mouse input.
    • Adjusted defaults for Precision / Response:
      • 25% for flight and swim precision down to 15%
      • 50% for flight and swim response down to 30%
    • Tweaked flight and swim response to ease into the slowing down behavior close to center in a less steep way than before.

Anthem UI PC Changes:

Summary

We have made numerous updates to menu and Forge navigation with mouse and keyboard on PC since the Demo build. In Early Access (15th Feb), you will see improvements like using Q and E to navigate tabs and being able to drill into menus by clicking the visible options on the right side (except Social menus which are coming for the Worldwide Launch 22nd Feb). In the Forge you will notice that rotating and zooming your character are more responsive.

We are also working on improving our graphics options on PC. For Worldwide Launch (22nd Feb) the issues with Motion Blur will be addressed along with adding an option to toggle HDR on or off. We are adding the ability to adjust camera shake with a slider to help alleviate any issues with motion sickness for Worldwide launch (Feb 22). We are also actively investigating adding an FOV slider to the game. We understand the importance of this option for a large numbers of players. In addition we are investigating adding options for FPS Limit and HDR Brightness in future patches. More information on that when we have it.

List of Changes for Launch (15th Feb / 22nd Feb)

  • UI Clicking on visible options in menus fixed for 15th Feb (except social which is 22nd Feb)
  • Navigating Menu tabs with Q and E instead of old keybindings fixed for 15th Feb
  • Forge rotation speed with mouse improved – 15th Feb
  • Scrolling with mouse wheel wont zoom your javelin AND scroll the menu (will be contextual based on where your mouse is) – 15th Feb
  • D-Pad will show as keyboard bindings – 15th Feb
  • Turning off Motion Blur in settings now works (decoupled from post processing) – 22nd Feb
  • HDR toggle available – 22nd Feb
  • Camera Shake slider added – 22nd Feb

In other Anthem news, go check out how the primers and detonators work in the game in this handy cheat sheet. Also of note, if you’re worried about microtransactions in Anthem, let BioWare put a dash on that with their confirmation on how it works.

The Division 2 Campaign Length to Be Around 40 Hours

If you found the First The Division campaign to be a little on the short side, then the sequel should make up for it, as we now know that The Division 2 campaign length is around 40 hours!

This was mentioned by the official Xbox website (via ComicBook), where it listed items that mentions how The Division 2 is different from its predecessor. Check out the full quota below.

The launch of Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is nearly upon us, and everything we’ve seen to date says its going to be bigger and better than its predecessor in every way. Set seven months after the first game’s Black Friday event, the seasonal change looks to be one of the most visible differences, as the snowy winter setting has been replaced by a hot, humid, and stormy summer. The locale has changed too, as agents from The Division receive a distress call from Washington DC and move on from New York City. According to the game’s developers at Massive Entertainment and Red Storm Entertainment, The Division 2 will feature a 40ish hour story mode that can be played solo or cooperatively, and they’ve said that it was designed with endgame in mind first. One of the biggest endgame areas in the first game was The Dark Zone, where players could go head-to-head or team up to nab some sweet loot.

You can read the rest of the article right here, to see some of the new stuff coming to The Division 2.

This is good news, no? With games like The Division 2, the focus is usually on the loot grind, and tackling one-off missions. While that’s still the case, at least we now know that there’s a meaty campaign to go along with the loot grind as well.

In other The Division 2 news, you can sign up for the beta right now even without pre-ordering, though there’s no guarantee that you’ll get in,

Anthem Combos Using Primers and Detonators Explained in One Handy Graphic

While Anthem might seem like your typical third-person shooter at first glance, the game’s combat system is a lot more nuanced than simply pointing a gun, and shooting at a target. Sure, that’ll work, but if you want to inflict massive damage on the game’s enemies, you’ll want to learn how to properly do Anthem combos.

In Anthem, abilities are categorized into two paths, and they are “primers” and “detonators.” Each character has a specialty in terms of gear and whether they’re good at priming enemies, and/or detonating ’em. If you’re unfamiliar with how it works, or need a quick guide, you’re in luck! Thanks to Twitter user/YouTuber FireDragon04 has designed a quick and handy graphic that explains Anthem combos, and how to tell if an ability is a primer or detonator! Check the image below (thanks to Matt Needler for giving us permission to use it!).

What’s awesome here is, the graphic above can be used in the demo set to start later today, and in the final game! Handy, right?

In other Anthem news, you can check out details regarding the demo right here. We also posted our hands-on impressions if you’re interested, and even wrote up a feature on what we think the game needs to improve on based on the demo.

BioWare Clears Air Regarding Anthem Microtransactions, Confirms Players Won’t Be Able to Buy Crafting Materials With Real Money

With Anthem set to be playable by everyone later today as it’s open demo starts, some players might be wondering what features the game has that BioWare isn’t making available in the demo. We know that the social hub called the Launch Bay is one, and how the Anthem microtransactions stuff is another.

BioWare has already confirmed before that Anthem microtransactions will involve cosmetics and cosmetics only. While we’ve seen how some items will be priced, BioWare has also confirmed that any in-game price of cosmetics aren’t set in stone, and will be changing almost daily.

Just to clear the air once and for all, BioWare General Manager Casey Hudson has gone on Twitter to address the Anthem microtransactions for those who might be worried.

Sounds good, right? Mind, I’m expecting some badass Anthem cosmetic stuff to make their way that will only be available via real world money, but at least it’s nothing game-breaking, right?

On a related note, if you’re wondering if BioWare will allow crafting materials in Anthem to be purchased using real world money, the answer is a big “NO.” This was answered by Executive Producer Mark Darrah who gave a curt, and straight to the point, “no” when asked.

This is good news, right? At least this way, “whales” and those who spend real world money won’t be able to one-up people who actually play the game and are, y’know, actually good at at.

In other Anthem news, don’t forget, the Anthem demo is set to start later today! Here’s a link explaining everything you need to know along with the download links.

Nowadays, the gambling business is incredibly popular, which is associated with its high profitability. At least, many gamblers think so. According to major bookmakers, income from gambling can reach up to hundreds of millions of dollars a year. Sound exciting, right? If you are going to be one of those lucky ones owning a casino or a poker room, we have prepared some recommendations to you.

First Steps in Opening of a Poker Room

If you have already made the decision to create a poker room, the first thing to think about is, of course, the budget and the annual investments into the business you are ready to make to maintain its profitability and competitiveness.

When determining the budget, you need to cover the following stages:

  • elementary;
  • the launch of the project;
  • maintaining its level/ functioning;
  • traffic increase.

Each of these stages is completely interrelated, so it’s not worth counting on the fact that the site will bring money if you fulfill only a part of the steps.

The next stage is the website creation, domain registration, and software development. Of course, the program can be done for a penny, but it will not be certified. Therefore, there will be little reason for gamblers to trust you. As a rule, software development is the most addictive condition for creating a poker room.

Before launching the website, the most important aspect of project support will be qualified personnel, which should include several experienced programmers, a designer, and a technical support team. As for the online promotion of a poker room, you will have to hire good marketing experts, who can bring out and advertise the portal in such a way that all fans of poker will know its name.

Difficulties in Poker Room Implementation

In some areas, it is impossible to register a gambling business due to legal restriction. In this case, you need to search for an alternative solution and open an offshore company in another country. Cyprus, Holland, Beilis can be good options for issuing licenses and permits for your gambling business. The presence of a license today plays a big role because there are already enough “black poker rooms.”

Of course, it is important to launch a quality poker room with top-rate gaming content. However, the task of its founders is to simultaneously promote and improve the portal, because the lack of marketing will play a cruel joke on the business. The gambling market is an incredibly tough territory that will not tolerate weak players. Do not be mean, hire a responsible team, and great patience – only in this case, you can reach success
