Fallout 76 F2P Rumor Denied by Bethesda

It’s no secret that Fallout 76 hasn’t seen the smoothest of launches, as it suffered from one controversy to another. With how big of a catastrophe Fallout 76 is for publisher Bethesda, a new rumor has cropped up claiming that Fallout 76 would be going free-to-play (F2P) soon.

According to a recent video by TheQuartering (via SegmentNext, RockPaperShotgun), EB Games Austalia has been pulling physical copies of Fallout 76 off shelves via distributor recall (meaning it’s not EB Games themselves that are pulling the game), though the Power Armor edition and Tricentennial are still available, with the base game as the only one being pulled. Why is it being pulled? Well, apparently, it’s because Fallout 76 F2P is happening?!

However, over on Twiter, the official Bethesda account has been quick to dash this rumor, stating that “ther is no truth to this rumor.”

Playing devil’s advocate here, if Fallout 76 was indeed boarding the F2P train, Bethesda wouldn’t exactly announce it ahead of time given quite a number of players paid the full $60 for it, no?

For now, assume that Fallout 76 F2P won’t be happening, but if ever it does, we’ll be sure to let our readers know. Do you think Fallout 76 should go F2P? How can Bethesda ease the blow for those who bought it full price if indeed it pulls this off?

Make a Living and Have Fun Doing It

‘Money, money, money, must be funny in a rich man’s world’, sang ABBA in 1976 and those of us struggling to pay our bills today are still humming along in agreement to this day. Wishing to be rich never seems to go out of fashion. The problem most of us face is that we haven’t come up with a big idea that’s going to make us a fortune and therefore we’re stuck working for ‘the man’ and barely making enough cash to make ends meet.

Enough is enough, we hear you cry! So here’s an idea; why not jump on the online gaming bandwagon and make yourself some extra money by playing games online? Better yet, why not turn playing games into your profession and never ‘work’ another day in your life?

How to Make a Living from Gaming

The first thing you need to do is sign up to an online casino that has a generous welcome bonus; one that includes a table and slot game bonus as well as a live casino bonus. The best online casino bonus Canada has to offer will likely come in the form of three match deposit bonuses spread out over your first three deposits, as well as a number of free spins to use on featured slot games.

We can’t stress enough how important it is to take your time and look for the best online bonus before committing to any online casino. An online casino best bonus can give you the chance to double the amount of money in your account in an instant. Having a large amount of bonus money means that you can explore the casino and learn how to play new games without spending a cent of your own money, and if you’re a beginner, this could be a massive advantage.

Slots for Everyone!

If you want to use your bonus to start making money straight away, we suggest you head to the slot games selection and find a slot game that tickles your fancy. Within the slot game category you’ll find hundreds of different themes, styles, storylines and bonus features. Some slot games have a better RTP (return to player rate) than others and some have more free spins on offer, and some have levels within the game that reward better prizes with each level. The slot game category, like the world, is your oyster; you could play a slot game every day for a year and never play the same game twice!

The reason we suggest using your bonus money on slot games is that this is usually the quickest way to clear the wagering requirements. What are wagering requirements? Well here’s the kicker about bonuses, they usually come with a stipulation that the bonus money has to be played through a number of times before you can withdraw any winnings that result from using the bonus in the first place. An average wagering requirement is 30x, which means that if you use a $10 bonus and you win a jackpot, you’ll have to use the winnings to continue making bets until you’ve won and subsequently spent $300. Seems a little harsh, but it protects the casino from those who would simply pocket the bonus money and move on to another casino.

Take a Seat at the Table

If poker is your game, then head straight to the live casino and take a seat at one of the tables available. A live casino usually offers more than one variant of poker –usually Texas Hold’em and 3 Card Stud. You’ll also find different tables offer different betting limits, so you can choose your table according to your budget and level of experience. Live casinos also offer blackjack, baccarat and roulette in a number of variants, so you’ll never get bored. The beauty of the live casino is that it gives you the chance to interact with the dealer and other players, and it brings you as close to real casino action as possible without you having to get dressed up and leave the house.

So there you have it, if you want the chance to become Richie Rich, start playing games online! Take the bonus and splash out on slots and then make your way to the live table games – all the while having way more fun than you would at the office.

Anthem: BioWare Posts Letter Reminding People There’s “One Month to Go”

With the Anthem VIP demo set to hit participants this weekend, this marks a significant period in the game’s development cycle. This hasn’t been lost on BioWare, as studio GM Casey Hudson has posted a letter reminding people that we have a month left before it launches.

Hudson talks about post-launch support, how the development of the game (known back then as “Dylan” came from concept to realization). Check out his letter below.

Well folks, this is it!  It was a little over 6 years ago that we first started working on Anthem, and we’re down to exactly one month left until launch.

Back in 2012 when we first conceived of Anthem (then codenamed DYLAN), we wanted to create a whole new fictional universe, full of BioWare quality story and character.  We also wanted it to be an experience you could share with friends, and to have a story that doesn’t just come to an end, but takes place in a world where things are happening right now.

We knew there would be challenges.  People are skeptical of the idea of story in an online game, and for good reason.  Often, the nature of online multiplayer games tends to fight story agency and interesting character interactions.  And, even in the best online games, it’s easy to lose interest or run out of things to do when your friends aren’t online.

We designed Anthem to address these design challenges by trying something new and different.  With Anthem, we aim to integrate the fun of multiplayer missions with your friends, and single-player story agency and characters, into a connected narrative experience – set in a world designed to be always changing, and where anything is possible.  The result is an intentionally unique structure which is fundamental to Anthem’s design and even the universe it’s set in.

Anthem will launch with a ton of content, including a substantial main story that introduces you to the world and its characters.  But there’s still a missing ingredient that we haven’t been able to test Anthem with: you.  So, over the next month as you start to have opportunities to try what we’ve created, I ask you to keep one thing in mind: The launch of Anthem is not the end – it’s the beginning of an ongoing story in which you are a critical element.  If there’s something you want more of, we can build it.  If something isn’t right, let us know.  And the story itself will unfold over time based on how you play the game.  Soon, we will reveal more about our plans for how we intend to support that ongoing stream of content and features.

MP1st will be taking part in the VIP demo and we’ll have a bunch of content ready for you to digest.  Make sure to bookmark our Anthem game hub for the latest game news.

Yes, you can now obtain the Black Ops 4 KAP 45 pistol, and you don’t need to spend any money for it, no. All you have to do is reach the 25th tier of the Barbarian special event stream!

Progressing through tiers is simple since all you need to do is play the game, and you’ll earn Contraband and that’s it. You don’t even need to do well in multiplayer matches to earn Contraband. Another method is spending real world money, which is equivalent to one tier equals to $1.

The Q1 2019 Video Games Release Schedule Is Insanely Good, Could It Be the Best Q1 in Gaming History?

Well, here we are. 2019 is here, and we’re close to ending the first month of the year. While it used to be the case that the “big” games only got released during the holidays (Q4), that hasn’t bee the case (thankfully) for the past few years.

Nowadays, it’s common for a big, AAA title to be released in the first quarter of the year, and usually, people have lots of quality titles to play all throughout, which is good, right? However, for 2019, that might be a case of having too much of a good thing. Don’t believe me? Below, we’ve listed the Q1 2019 video games release schedule that include the pertinent AAA titles. It’s pretty big and impressive list, and one can argue that it might even be the best Q1 in gaming history.

ace combat 7 game length

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown (January 18)

The latest entry in Bandai Namco’s dogfighting franchise, Ace Combat 7 has multiplayer, and a full-fledged campaign. Not only that, but according to the developers, playing everything in the game can take as long as 50 hours to complete.

Resident Evil 2 Remake  (January 25)

While some people might be tired of endless remasters and remakes, Capcom’s upcoming remake of one of the best survival horror games of all time is anything but phoned in. Expect new puzzles to solve, new item placements, and even a few changes in the story. There’s a 30-minute, one-shot demo out now, and based on what we’ve played of it, it’s the real deal.

kingdom hearts 3 trailer

Kingdom Hearts 3 (January 25)

Teased way back since 2006, and formally announced in 2013, we’re finally (finally!) seeing the official third chapter of Sora, Goofy, and Donald’s adventures. Expect the Keyblade to be back, along with a plethora of Disney characters and Pixar properties.

Oh, and be prepared for a revamped party system, and combat mechanics too!

Trials Rising (February 12)

Trials Rising is the first mainline series entry in the franchise since 2014’s Trials Fusion, and it seems to be carrying on the tradition of the multiplayer racing game quite well. Expect a 2.5D racing game experiences where you can pull of stunts, and of course, navigate obstacles while soaking in that awesome physics mechanics Ubisoft employs for the series.

Far Cry: New Dawn (February 15)

While not a mainline entry in the Far Cry franchise, Far Cry: New Dawn still looks deliver a solid single-player and multiplayer experience. Prepare for open world chaos where you can traverse the land either on foot or by using vehicles. Expect a thrilling story to go along with the fast-paced action the series is known for.

Metro: Exodus (February 15)

The third game in the Metro franchise, it’s said to follow the events of the novels, Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light. Same as in past entries, Metro: Exodus will focus more on stealth elements and survival horror rather than your standard corridor shooter experience. Developer 4A Games i letting players craft items this time, and the actual game will feature a mix of both linear levels, and sandbox-style gameplay.

jump force beta

Jump Force (February 15)

Who doesn’t want to see characters from various manga series pummel each other to a pulp, right? From Goku, to Eugene, expect a ton of crazy stuff to ensue given it’s a three-on-three tag fighting game.

Anthem (February 22)

Possibly the biggest game to come out this Q1 2019, Anthem is an all-new, original IP developed by BioWare, and will mark EA’s entry in the shard world shooter genre popularized by the likes of Destiny, and The Division.

Expect co-op action, tons of loot, and BioWare’s trademarked lore building to be in effect here. We’ve already seen the game in action, and it’s looking solid so far.

Dirt Rally 2.0 (February 26)

The thirteenth entry in Codemasters’ Colin McRae Rally series (which the franchise has officially dropped and is instead being called just Dirt Rally), expect realistic driving physics, realistic dirt and a host of other sim-like features. This won’t be your standard stop and go racing game, but prepare for a realistic rally experience that won’t get you dirty.

dead or alive 6 strongest

Dead or Alive 6 (March 1)

Team Ninja’s sixth official major entry in its popular (ahem) physics-based fighter, Dead or Alive 6 continues the franchise’s combo-heavy title. New to the franchise is that visual damage will be seen on fighters during the course of the fight. Oh, and Team Ninja says that they want to focus less on the franchise’s sexualization and more emphasis on gameplay.

devil may cry 5 length

Devil May Cry 5 (March 8)

Devil May Cry 5 will see the return of Dante and Nero as playable characters, as well as the introduction of “V.” Oh, there’s also a new multiplayer mode too, which you can check out right here. Same as before, expect stylish action, huge bosses, and tons of combos to pull off.

the division 2 maps

The Division 2 (March 15)

Three years after Ubisoft’s first foray into the shared world shooter world with The Division, the publisher is taking another stab at it with The Division 2. Expect a revampled PvP system, a better Dark Zone experience and more.

If you’re a fan of the first one, like we are, I don’t see how the sequel can steer you wrong. If you thought New York was in chaos in the first one, prepare to see it on another level as this time, Washington itself is in disarray.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (March 22)

Dark Souls developer From Software has gained quite a fan following given the success of both the Souls franchise, and Bloodborne. With Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, From is shaking things up by not featuring RPG elements this time around, as well as no mulitplayer of any sort.

What fans can expect though is a solid combat combat system, brilliant gameplay mechanics, and of course, the studio’s usual flair.

There you have it! Remember: these are just the confirmed Q1 2019 games, and in April, not even a full month after Sekiro, we’ll see Mortal Kombat 11, Days Gone, and more be released, which means Q2 is already shaping up to be one hell of a quarter in terms of gaming.

Do you think Q1 2019 is the best quarter in video game history? Which year managed to beat it if not? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Don’t forget, the Anthem VIP demo is going live later this week, with the pre-load starting tomorrow! BioWare has detailed the differences between the demo and the final launch build, which you can read about, here.

Anthem is set to fly out this February 22 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and you can read up on all the Anthem news we post in our Anthem game hub.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 – After Selling a Dot for $1, Activision Now Selling an Old Reticle That Was Available in BO1 for Double the Price

It’s kinda getting ugly, folks. Remember when we reported on how Activision sold a single dot for $1 in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4? While that in itself was kind of ridiculous, it seems the publisher isn’t done yet.

Now, if you log in to the Black Market, the publisher has a “Smiley” reticle being sold for double that price! Yes, a reticle is being sold for $2, and the sad thing here is, this is an old design which was present even in Black Ops 1, which was released way back in 2010 — yes, almost 10 years ago!

Here’s an image of the “new” Smiley reticle being sold in Black Ops 4:

For comparison, here’s what the smiley face reticle looked like in Black Ops 1, and in Black Ops 3:

Black Ops 1:

Black Ops 3:

The difference between the Black Ops 4 smiley and the Black Ops 1 smiley are non-existent, though the Black Ops 3 one has a curved smiley, which looks a bit better.

Is this a trend that we’ll continue to see where Activision will sell old content and pass it off as something new? It seems to be the case given how a regular reticle has been renamed and sold as well. Granted, these are cosmetic items and in no way affect the game, so people might be OK with it, no?

Are you fine with this or do you think Activision is charging too much for it? Do you think the publisher should give these old reticles and the like out for free? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Mortal Kombat 11 Cross Platform Play Being Looked Into by NetherRealms

Update:

Correction on Mortal Kombat 11 being developed using Unreal Engine 4. The fighting game is being developed on a “highly modified, NetherRealm version of the Unreal Engine 3.” Apologies for the mistake.

Original Story:

With Mortal Kombat 11 set for an April 23 release on almost every gaming platform conceived, some might be wondering whether we’ll see Mortal Kombat 11 crossplay (or cross-platform play) at some point.

While NetherRealm hasn’t confirmed or denied whether it’s coming or not, Game Designer Derek Kirtzic has at least confirmed that the studio is “looking into it”, and that they “hope” to do it at some point. Given how the game is being developed using Unreal Engine 4, and the game engine maker’s (Epic Games) push for cross-platform play, the actual technicality of it might be something NetherRealm can do, though it’s up to each platform holder whether they actually want to flip the switch or not. If you factor in that Fortnite and Rocket League are now implementing this feature, then there’s a good possibility that we’ll see Mortal Kombat 11 crossplay down the line.

The Division 2 Will Have Maps Designed Exclusively for PvP, Skills Will Have Different Stats in PvE Compared to PVP

With Ubisoft now openly talking about The Division 2’s PvP mode and the Dark Zone, and the announcement that we’ll see organized PvP in the game, the studio has now also talked about how the game will now have maps exclusively designed for PvP!

In The Division 2, there are two organized PvP modes, and they’re Domination (which is your standard capture point), and Skirmish, which is a 4v4 team deathmatch mode.

Skirmish

Skirmish is returning in The Division 2, but the mode has been reworked to create a more tactical team based experience! In this 4v4 Team Deathmatch mode characterized by short time limits and fast-paced gameplay, each team has a limited numbers of reinforcements. Reinforcements serve as a team life pool that deplete with each respawn. Once a team’s reinforcements deplete, they enter an elimination phase. Once a player is eliminated, they are out of the game.

Domination

At the launch of The Division 2, we are excited to introduce our unique take on the classic PVP game mode, Domination. First, the three objectives airdrop into the map shortly after the match begins in order to give teams a chance to fight for control of the objective area before it becomes active. In addition to passively capturing while in position around the objective, players have the ability to active-capture using an interactable on the objectives themselves. Completing this interact will instantly flip the objective to your team, but these actions take time. Players are severely exposed while performing these actions, so expect high-risk/high-reward situations in Domination.

Ubisoft will be employing match-changing “boosts,” which will affect the outcome of organized PvP matches if used correctly. Boosts will be available in both game modes, and pre-placed supply crates that reward random team bonus when activated.

Regarding maps, for the first time, Ubisoft will feature The Division 2 maps designed exclusively for PvP!

Maps specifically designed for PVP

For the first time in The Division, Conflict will feature bespoke maps designed specifically for great PVP focused gameplay. These arenas are grounded and inspired by Washington, D.C. but they are not a 1:1 visual representation, as we did not want to sacrifice PVP balance for authenticity. The following arenas were built specifically with PVP in mind:

  • Capitol Ruins – players will compete for control of this forest environment.
  • Stadium – players fight in the urban streets and parking lots outside a baseball stadium.
  • Georgetown – players battle for control over rooftop perches in this residential area covered in yellow powder contaminants.

Ubisoft will also feature skill-based matchmaking in The Division 2’s PvP, which should be a welcome feature.

Matchmaking

Matchmaking for organized PVP also occurs in two separate brackets. In one bracket, all players who have not reached World Tier and began end-game are matched together and normalized to the same power level. In the other bracket, all players who have reached World Tier are matched together and normalized to the same World Tier. While normalization is active to reduce the peaks and valleys between players with high survivability and high damage output in organized PVP, minor stat advantages will still be available to players who put the hours into their builds. While balancing is a factor to take in account when crafting a build, remember that build choices are still unique and offer a variety of gameplay options.

Skill-based matchmaking, based on many factors such as wins and losses, also plays a role in organized PVP matchmaking. When completing matches, players increase a PVP level that exists separately from Dark Zone and overall character level as well.

Finally, Ubisoft has confirmed that skills in PvE and PvP will be handled differently, as to not screw up the game balance.

Separate Balancing

To wrap things up, we are happy to announce that separate balancing is in effect for PVE and PVP modes. Skills and talents in organized PVP, for example, will have normalized versions that have different statistics than their PVE counterparts. In The Division 2, we want to keep PVP competitive and healthy without negatively impacting players who enjoy PVE.

Mad Box Controller Concept Images Look Promising

In case you didn’t know, Project Cars studio Slightly Mad is entering the console arena with a next-gen console called the Mad Box. While we’ve already seen what the early concept look is for the console itself, we now have Mad Box controller concept mock ups available too!

Over on Twitter, Slightly Mad head honcho Ian Bell has shared a plethora of Mad Box controller images (remember: these are concepts), and I have to admit, they look good so far. Check ’em out.

As you can see from the images, there’s what looks to be a touchscreen in the middle that can act as a game’s HUD, give status updates, or even transform into a virtual keyboard. The button layout is similar to the Xbox, and thankfully, Mad Box has integrated triggers, and rear paddles, which really should be part of controllers these days.

Given that these are early concept images, there’s no guarantee that the final product will be similar to what’s shown. Heck, it’ll be surprising if we see this thing come to fruition, no? Nonetheless, let’s hope Slightly Mad pulls this off, since they seem to have the right ideas so far.

What do you think of the Mad Box controller images so far? Do you think the studio will be able to pull this off?

Top 5 Sci-Fi Themed Online Slots to Play for Real Cash

When online slot game developers were making sure they catered to as many niches as possible, they certainly didn’t forget to create plenty of online slot games to be enjoyed by avid sci-fi fans. Whether you’re interested in the cosmos, a Tron fan, or someone who enjoys a gory and gruesome offering of completely absurd science fiction, there are plenty of games for you to choose from on online slot games websites such as Rose Slots. As there are plenty of online slots to choose from, we’ve picked out the top 5 games currently available to play online. We’ve taken into consideration the bonus features, return to player (RTP) rates and maximum jackpot amounts for your stake.

If you haven’t played online slots in the last few years, you’ll be amazed at the advancements in technology which have amped up the definition of the visuals and made the gaming experience much more immersive.

Astro Legends: Lyra and Erion

Any fans of Synth Funk are going to want to check out the Astro Legends: Lyra and Erion slot game created by Foxium. The game was only released in November 2018, yet, the easy to play slot has drawn players in with the interstellar storyline which sees Lyra take centre stage with her basslines and beats while the landscape is a frozen ruin. Expect battles with eccentric AI and a nostalgically synth-driven soundtrack. Astro Legends is characterised as a medium level variance slot with an RTP rate of 96.5%. With 20 different ways to win the game, it is the perfect game for anyone who is just getting to grips with online slots. Yet, there are still plenty of features to make the game a little more progressive, this includes multiplier wilds, the Lyra Spirit Bonus and the Sonic re-spins feature. In the short time since the game was first published it has already been dubbed as one of the most innovative online slot machines due to the features and graphics. Even though the reels may appear a little different in the beehive formation, the game is still easy to understand.

Astro Pug

Astro Pug has been one of the most popular online slot characters of 2018, he features on the 8-reel slot which offers a staggering 1296 different ways to win. The game crosses oriental themes with astral themes catering to anyone who is looking for their two passions to collide in a high-intensity setting with an unusual reel formation. With so many paylines, you’ll have to make sure you understand how to set the paylines before you make a stake. Few online slots rival how many features are included with Astro Pug. The Astro Pug himself acts as the wild symbol, once it pops up on the reels, the pug can act as substitute for all other symbols which pop up on that spin. There’s also a scatter symbol which can help you get your hands on some free spins. Even though there are plenty of interesting features on Astro Pug the return to player rate and winning potential are not all too high. So, high rollers may not enjoy Astro Pug as much as other games which feature on this list.

Cosmic Fusion

The games designer behind Cosmic Fusion has made sure that players are in for an explosively visual treat with the game which provides everything from Supernova Wild Re-spins to the chance to get a 50x return on each bet per payline. The 5-reel slot has ten fixed paylines and features an array of celestial symbols which help you feel a little bit closer to the cosmos. You’ll be amongst burning suns, ringed alien planets and our moon. The electronic music which makes up the soundtrack will make the experience even more authentic as the sonic soundscapes take you to another dimension, and hopefully trigger exciting features along the way. A unique feature of the game is the ability to pay to both sides of the reels, this increases your chances of creating a winning combination with each spin.

Cosmic Reels

If you’d like to experience the cosmos in a calming and transcendental setting, look no further than the cosmic reels online slot game. Drift through the galactic as you spin the transparent reels, surrounded by the serene sights of constellations hovering in the distance amongst spirit animal symbols. The symbols include Cosmic Wild symbols and Cosmic Re-Spin symbols which can help you get your hands on some very generous bonuses. The game designers paid special attention to the graphics and the soundtrack to the game which allows you to experience a meditative gameplay. Cosmic Reels is one of the easiest games to play on this list. There are 5-reels, 3 wager rows and 10 ways to win. This game is all about sitting back and letting the interstellar action unravel – there is even an auto play option which allows you to set the autopilot to function from 5 to 100 continuous spins. The RTP of this game is set at 96.17%.

Reptoids

Reptoids was developed by one of the industry leaders in the online slot world; Yggdrasil. The game play was kept easy with the 5-reels and 3-row slots which offers players 20 different ways to win. The game set up has a fairly different theme to the rest of the sci fi games on this list, yet, it will be a hit with anyone who is keen to unmask the true identity of the reptoids. The game has a unique twist on the traditional online slot. A “detective window” will move across the reels as you spin them and stop on a symbol each time the reels come to a halt, if the detective reveals an alien, then the rest of the identical symbols will also act as wilds. Therefore, in this game, the wild is not the symbol, but the window. You’ll want to look out for the Commissioner to appear in the reels, if you spot him, you could win up to 1000 coins. The RTP for Reptoids has also been reasonably set at 96.1% and there are plenty of free spins to get your hands on during the gameplay.

Anthem Will Have Purchasable Emotes, We’ll See How Currency Works in the Demo

It’s no secret that Anthem microtransactions will be a thing. While BioWare has come out and confirmed that all single-player DLC will be free, some might be wondering how the studio will handle in-game purchases.

Well, we now have confirmation that Anthem emotes will be part of the microtransactions initiative. Over on Twitter, Lead Producer Ben Irving was asked if there was going to be purchasable emotes in the game, to which he answered with a straight-to-the-point “yes.”

Chances are, emotes won’t be the only thing we’ll be able to purchase in Anthem with real world money, but at least it won’t affect game balance in any way, right?

Related Anthem Reading:

In a semi-related note, Game Director Jonathan Warner has also confirmed that we’ll see how the game currency works in the upcoming demo. We already know these will be called “Coins,” and BioWare promises “no bait and switch.”

https://twitter.com/Bio_Warner/status/1086324105446473728

Don’t forget, the VIP demo will take place this January 25 for those who pre-order the game. For more on Anthem, make sure to bookmark our Anthem game hub for the latest Anthem news.

New The Division 2 Rogue System Detailed, Livestream Happening This Week

Just last week, Ubisoft blew the door wide open in terms of The Division 2’s Dark Zone. If yo’d rather watch fresh gameplay as it unfolds, you’re going to get just that as there will be a The Division 2 livestream happening this Tuesday, and it’ll focus on PvP (player vs player).

The Division 2 livestream (via Reddit) will take place on Tuesday, January 22, and will start at 11 a.m. EST/8 a.m. PST! People will be able to watch it on YouTube, Twitch, and more. MP1st will have a link up as we get closer to the livestream.

While we got our first gameplay look at The Division 2 Dark Zones just a few days ago, some might be wondering what happened to the Rogue system introduced in the first game. Ubisoft has mentioned that they’ve implemented a new three-tier progression way for The Division 2 Rogue system to work.

New Rogue System

We have implemented a three-tiered progression system for Rogues in The Division 2. There are two ways for players to engage with our new Rogue progression – world interaction and toggling:

  • Rogue Status—This early stage in the Rogue loop is new to The Division 2, with a focus on theft and greed. Once Rogue, players see nearby opportunities to complete new Rogue actions—stealing other players’ loot, hijacking Supply drops, and cutting ropes to name a few. Performing any of these actions will toggle you Rogue. Here, the ultimate goal is gaining access to the Thieves Den—a hidden instance that houses vendors only accessible by Agents in this Rogue state. The entrance location varies and appears when you execute enough Rogue actions. After exiting the Den, players return to SHD status. If a player kills another player while in this new Rogue state, they will go Disavowed.
  • Disavowed Status—This stage is the most familiar to fans of The Division. Killing players raises the attacking Agent’s disavowed level, and killing enough players raises the disavowed Agent’s status to Manhunt. SHD Agents can eliminate Disavowed Agents to claim their bounties.
  • Manhunt Status—This is the final stage in the Rogue loop in which players have to clear their status at a SHD terminal in order to earn rewards. In The Division 2, you have a choice of three random terminals active in the Dark Zone to clear your Manhunt status. You also have the option to Increase Notoriety at any terminal, effectively raising your rewards but requiring you to cash-out at the next terminal. General terminal areas are visible on the mega-map for SHD agents while a Manhunt is active, but precise terminal locations are only revealed to the Manhunt player. This creates a cat-and-mouse style gameplay loop where SHD Agents can track down Manhunt Agents and attempt to claim their bounty.

In terms of matchmaking, it’ll happen in two separate brackets. Players will be matched in level brackets (1-10, 11-20, 21-30), and “normalized” to the same power level. Another side of the coin see all players who have reached “World Tier” being matched together and normalized in the same World Tier.

Hopefully, this is a marked improvement compared to how the first game handled Rogue status, no?

The Division 2 will fire out this March 15, 2019 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
