Battlefield 6 Update for October 13 Increases Rush Tickets, Nerfs Shotguns

EA has rolled out a new Battlefield 6 update for October 13 across all platforms, targeting specific weapon tuning and gameplay adjustments. The update aims to improve balance and fix minor inconsistencies affecting player experience in the Rush game mode.

This is a sever-side update, so there is no client patch to download. Once players connect to the game’s servers, they will automatically receive the patch and its changes.

Note that this doesn’t fix or tweak the known issues DICE has outlined at launch. Chances are, a patch tackling a lot of those issues will be released soon, and it will be a client-side patch.

Battlefield 6 New Update Adds Rush Fixes and Weapon Adjustments

Here are the complete changes in today’s Battlefield 6 backend update:

  • Increased ticket count for some maps on the Rush game mode to the intended amount of 100 (up from 75).
  • Reduced the muzzle velocity of the M2010 ESR from 900 to 800 m/s.
  • Reduced the muzzle velocity of the PSR from 750 to 720 m/s.
  • Shotgun projectiles will now take drag into account.

And that’s all for this small backend update. It’s different from the larger, more content-heavy patches the game has received. For example, the Day One patch on October 10 was a massive download with over 200 changes to movement, weapons, maps, and audio.

If you’re wondering whether Battlefield 6 is worth buying, check out the review roundup for the game, where both critics and fans view it as a strong return to form for the series.

In other news, Battlefield 6 players believe parts of the campaign were cut after noticing missing scenes from trailers and early footage, leading to speculation about changes made during development.

Lords of the Fallen Second Anniversary Update Ushers in Free Sword, Magic Improvements via Patch 1.087

Today marks the second anniversary of CI Games’ Lords of the Fallen! To mark the occasion, the developers have rolled out a new update that gives everyone who owns the game a new weapon, and even slots in gameplay improvements as well.

Players will be prompted to download Lords of the Fallen update 1.087 (complete version 1.087.000), which is for v2.0.101. Alongside the free stuff, there are also quality-of-life improvements applied, which are all listed in the official patch notes below.

Lords of the Fallen Second Anniversary Update Rewards Loyalty

Exclusive Reward

All players will receive an exclusive new sword – Moon’s Judgement – now awaiting you in your inventory.

Before today, there were two ultra greatswords in Lords of the Fallen – one built for pure Strength and another for Agility. With this update, we’ve introduced a new blade designed to bridge the gap between them: a true hybrid weapon.

Its stat requirements reflect that balance, leaning slightly toward Strength but offering comparable scaling for both attributes. The sword features two Strength sockets and one Agility socket, delivering higher stagger and visceral damage, lower stamina cost per attack, and reduced weight compared to the pure Strength variant.

Magic Improvements

Earlier adjustments made magic less effective than intended, and this patch restores flexibility while keeping balance intact. Spellcasting now feels faster, smoother, and more responsive, with shorter casting times and the ability to dodge out of animations earlier.

We’ve also improved mana scaling and rebalanced mana-stones to make early-game magic more rewarding. Several spells have lower stat requirements, allowing more variety earlier in your journey, while certain PvP spells have been fine-tuned to ensure fairer duels.

  • Faster Spellcasting: Reduced cast times across some early-game spells.
  • Cast Cancelling: You can now dodge out of casts earlier.
  • Refined Mana Scaling: Players now receive increased mana with each Inferno and Radiance level increase.
  • Mana-Stones — cheaper and more effective, especially early-game.
  • Spell Accessibility: Lower stat requirements making early-game magic more viable.
    • Inferno: Pyroclastic Stone, Infernal Hounds & Incinerating Blast
    • Radiance: Blessed Reflections, Radiant Slash
    • Umbral: Reduced stat requirements across all spells and Increased wither damage across all Umbral spells for greater impact.
  • Radiant spells PvP damage increased — Vortex of TormentConsecrate, and Lucent Beam
  • Magic Nerfs
  • Reduced overall and PvP damage: Orius’ Judgement
  • Reduced healing amount:  Invigorating Aura.
  • Mana Cost Increased:
    • Putrefaction
    • Graveyard Fog
  • PvP damage reduced

        • Infernal Orb
        • Lava Burst
        • Umbral Orb
        • Painful Echo
        • Radiant Flare
        • Piercing Light

Improved Inventory Management

As heavily requested, managing your items is now quicker and more intuitive with the ability to sort via a variety of options. Navigation speed has also been increased, while a one-button “Equip Full Set” option makes gearing up easier than ever. You can sort by:

  • Type
  • Weight
  • Attack Value
  • Defense Value
  • Upgrade Level
  • Armour Set
  • Damage Type (e.g., poison, fire)
  • Quantity
  • Number of Spell Slots
  • Spell Power
  • Mana Cost

Stamina Adjustment

  • Stamina – Another highly requested feature, sprinting outside of combat no longer drains stamina. Run, Forest, run!

Lighting adjustments

  • Several overly dark areas — including Monastery GroundsRevelation DepthsSunless Skein, and others — have been brightened to improve visibility and gameplay clarity. Who would’ve thought a dark fantasy could sometimes be a little too dark?

UI / UX Improvements

  • Dedicated Pause Button – Potentially a controversial one when it comes to soulslikes, but a significant majority of you asked for pause functionality and so here it is. And if you don’t want it, well, simply don’t press pause.
  • Pop-Up Explanations – New contextual menus and text prompts have been added to the Vestige to help players better understand the differences between Shared and Casual Progression modes.
  • Co-Op Passwords –  You can now set a password to prevent unknown players from joining your co-op session, giving you more control over your multiplayer experience.
  • Co-Op Mode Toggle –  Switching between Casual and Shared Progression modes is now faster and easier with a dedicated toggle option.
  • Streamlined Co-Op Menu – The co-op interface has been redesigned with a cleaner layout and clearer text prompts, helping you and your ally stay focused on your objectives.
  • Load Game Menu – The load game screen now features a cleaner layout and displays additional information for each save slot, making it easier to manage your progress.
  • Settings Navigation – The Graphics and Display tabs have been merged into a single section, simplifying navigation and improving accessibility.

Multiplayer

  • Shared Progression Lag – stability improvements to reduce desync and improve overall co-op gameplay experience.
  • Multiplayer Stability – further optimizations based on latest monitoring.
  • Friend Pass Update – Reduced session failures and improved connectivity.

Bug Fixes

  • Addressed critical community-reported bugs, including synchronization issues.
  • Additional fixes for reported problems.

Given the support the game has received from launch to today from CI Games, don’t be surprised if another update is released before the year is over. Speaking to MP1st, the developers mentioned that there are no “hard stops” when it comes to updates to the RPG. This is even if the studio is hard at work on developing the sequel for release next year.

Battlefield 6 Players Spot Missing Scenes in Campaign; Suggests Content Was Cut

It’s fair to say that the Battlefield 6 campaign isn’t the standout feature of DICE’s new shooter, with many reviews noting it falls short in several areas, and some players even believing that parts of its content were cut based on clues found online.

Since the series has consistently focused on multiplayer, the single-player part of Battlefield 6 might not be its most important part. However, after its complete absence in Battlefield 2042, the return of a campaign was something players were looking forward to in this new chapter.

Fans Suspect Battlefield 6 Campaign Was Cut After Spotting Missing Scenes

Battlefield 6

Battlefield 6 campaign turned out to be a relatively small part of the overall game, running only about five hours. Players are now discussing whether it was shortened further during development.

On Reddit, user Mikalton highlighted scenes and characters shown in trailers and early gameplay footage that never appear in the final campaign, suggesting that some story elements may have been changed or removed.

In his post, Mikalton mentioned feeling misled after realizing that several shots from the reveal trailer, including the moment where a man with arm tattoos slams a table, never appear in the game.

“]

According to him, three other similar shots are also missing, which made him feel that the story might have originally taken a different direction before release.

Mikalton mentions that cinematic scenes from the reveal trailer that don’t match anything found in the story. This suggests those scenes may have been planned but later removed from the final version of Battlefield 6.

There are also inconsistencies in the story flow, especially around the mission set in Egypt, which many players say feels completely unrelated to the rest of the campaign. On top of that, the timeline of events in general feels confusing and out of order, making some missions seem disconnected from each other. This made many fans think that different teams handled the design of individual missions.

Of course, these are only fan theories for now, and players are still waiting to see if any official details or explanations will emerge. Still, many agree with the user’s view that the final campaign may not be what the developers originally planned.

What about you? Did you notice anything missing or unusual while playing the campaign? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Speaking of the campaign, we spotted a Battlefield Friends Easter egg that long-time franchise fans will get a chuckle out of.

MSI MAG B850 TOMAHAWK MAX WiFi Review – A Solid AM5 Contender

Looking to upgrade your old system or planning a fresh PC build, but not sure which motherboards deserve your attention? MSI has long been a steady presence in the enthusiast market, and its MAG B850 Tomahawk Max WiFi has become a pretty popular choice among PC gamers, as it’s aimed squarely at gamers and builders who want stability, strong power delivery, and modern features without breaking the bank.

After testing the board firsthand with an AMD Ryzen 7 9700X CPU and using only the integrated graphics (no dedicated GPU was installed), I can understand why it’s a popular choice. After running a series of benchmarks, evaluating how easy it was to set up, and living with it as my daily driver for a bit, I came away impressed with what MSI has put together here. It’s not flawless, but it’s a solid step up from my previous ASUS Prime B650M-A AX6, even if comparing the two is like comparing apples to oranges.

Thanks to MSI for sending MP1st this board to review. Let’s dive into what makes the MAG B850 Tomahawk Max WiFi worth considering as an upgrade, and where it still leaves room for improvement.

Stealthy Black Form Factor

The first thing you notice when unboxing the MAG B850 Tomahawk Max WiFi is how clean and practical the design is. MSI isn’t showing off flashy RGB here; instead, it goes for a gunmetal aesthetic with solid heatsinks and smart component placement. This is a board designed for stability and airflow, without being overly flashy, which I really dig in a board. The quality is top-notch, especially considering its price point, and its design complements almost any ATX build theme.

In terms of layout, MSI has kept things practical. Headers and slots are accessible without wrestling with your case, and the inclusion of debug LEDs is a small but highly useful touch. When something goes wrong during setup, which often happens when building a fresh system, quickly identifying the cause of the issue can save a lot of frustration.

Another nice addition is the inclusion of a Clear CMOS and Flash BIOS button on the edge of the motherboard. This is a genuine game-changer for some builders. Whether you’ve pushed an unstable overclock or simply need to reset the BIOS, having an external button makes it painless. That, and being able to perform a firmware update beforehand, comes in handy, where some other boards may actually require an older CPU slotted in first to update the BIOS and use a newer CPU (trust me, it’s not fun finding that out after, and thankfully that’s not an issue with the B850 Tomahawk). The only caution here is its placement on the outside of the case: you or someone else could accidentally press it. A nitpick, if I’m being honest, since most builders have the backside of their PC facing away from anything. But it’s something to be aware of.

One of the standout features is the Duet Rail Power System (DRPS), which features 80A Smart Power Stages (SPS). For those unfamiliar, this is MSI’s approach to power delivery. In short, the VRM (Voltage Regulator Module) splits into multiple rails to better manage the flow of power to the CPU. Each phase is rated for up to 80 amps, ensuring consistent and stable performance even under heavy workloads. If you’re considering running a Ryzen 9 chip (the 9800X3D being the most popular at the moment), this VRM design is more than capable of maintaining stability.

The EZ M.2 CLIP II is genuinely convenient and time-saving, as it allows for the installation of an M.2 NVMe drive without fiddling with tiny screws or trying to find any to use. The board features four M.2 slots, equipped with reinforced heatsinks (MSI exclusive EZ M.2 Shield Frozr II) to maintain optimal cooling for NVMe drives, and ample SATA ports for additional storage.

Connectivity is where MSI didn’t cut corners. On the rear I/O, you’ll find USB-A & USB-C 10G ports, capable of transfer speeds up to 10 Gbps. This is particularly useful for anyone using external SSDs or moving large files, where high-speed data throughput makes a big difference. It also has USB-A & USB-C 5G ports and four USB-A 2.0 ports. I understand the need to support older devices that don’t support 3.0 and the circuitry space it takes on the motherboard. However, I wouldn’t mind trading three 2.0 ports for one 3.0 port, in my opinion. Add in 5G LAN (fiber customers on XGS-PONS will love this), Wi-Fi 7, and you’ve got a well-rounded selection that covers most use cases.

Full Specifications:

Because I’m using the integrated graphics here instead of a dedicated GPU (the one I have is entirely out of date, and wouldn’t benefit from the newer gen slots), I can’t comment much on the PCIe graphics slots beyond that this is PCIe 5.0 ready, with an additional PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 3.0.

If you do have some concerns over the potential of the Gen5 M.2_1 and M.2_2 slots taking away from the GPU’s PCIe 5.0, like in some boards, you don’t have to worry here, as you can get the full lanes out of the M.2 and GPU slot from this board. That’s not quite true when you move down to the other PCIe slots and drives, where lane sharing can become a problem. The M.2_3 and M.2_4, for example, will run at PCIe4 x2 (since it shares lanes with one of the other PCIe slots), so you’d be getting half the speed of that drive if you occupy both. That might be a problem for some, but if you’re already using Gen5 drives, it’s likely that anything else will be utilized for additional storage or slower tasks.

Putting It to the Test

Of course, specs only tell part of the story. To see how the MAG B850 Tomahawk Max WiFi actually performs, I ran several tests using 3DMark CPU Profile with my Ryzen 7 9700X. Remember, this was all done without a discrete GPU, running purely on integrated graphics (See the image above).

The average simulation time per frame aligned well with expectations, and more importantly, the board maintained steady power delivery and clock speeds across the runs. Monitoring also showed CPU temps staying within a reasonable range under sustained load.

Thermals also remained in check. While load pushed temps between the mid-70s and mid-80s Celsius range, there was no evidence of thermal throttling. For anyone planning to run this board with a dedicated GPU and a strong cooling setup, the headroom is clearly there.

You can see from the graph that the CPU maintained a decent high clock rate without sudden dips or throttling. That’s a testament to the VRM design and the cooling MSI has built around it. Even running without a GPU, which often places more stress (higher frames and increased CPU-bound tasks) on the CPU, the system remained smooth and predictable.

These numbers are from my test bench, which means they won’t necessarily match what you see on your own setup. Different CPUs, GPUs, cooling solutions, and BIOS versions all affect performance. Take this with a grain of salt regarding how the MAG B850 Tomahawk Max WiFi performs under these specific conditions, rather than as an absolute baseline for every system.

Easy Installation and BIOS Update

One of the most frustrating parts of building a PC can be the motherboard installation process. Fortunately, MSI made things as painless as possible here. Installing the CPU, RAM, and NVMe drives was straightforward, taking me no more than two minutes to get the essentials in place. The tool-less M.2 system deserves another shoutout, as it genuinely makes the process smoother compared to boards that still require tiny screwdrivers. MSI also provides an extra socket screw and a key to adjust the size of different NVMe drives.

The BIOS experience has never been easy, but many companies have put considerable effort into it. From my experience, I can see that MSI has done a great job. Their UEFI BIOS is easy to navigate, with clear options for overclocking, fan tuning, and memory profiles. It’s responsive and doesn’t feel sluggish, which isn’t something you can say about all manufacturers. Even if you’re not an expert, the layout makes it approachable. That said, I still recommend doing some research before making big changes, especially when it comes to overclocking (MSI has a one-click EZ Overclock, so proceed with caution) or simply messing with the settings on there. Setting the wrong RAM timings and voltage, as with any motherboard, can lead to instability and other issues. So always make a note of what’s been changed and their previous values.

RAM support can also reach a staggering 256GB (DDR5) when all four slots are filled. That’s not really recommended to be done by anyone, but it’s nice to know that this board is future-proof, and you can go into the BIOS and play around with all that to find that “sweet” spot. DDR5 memory speeds are supported up to 8400MT/s.

In daily use, the system ran rock-solid. I tested stability across several days of uptime and experienced no random crashes or odd quirks. As always, I recommend visiting MSI’s website and making sure you have the latest BIOS and driver updates when you build your system. It’s an easy step that can save you headaches later. They also have a list of officially approved DDR5 RAM for this board, for those who want to be on the safe side.

Networking also deserves a mention. The onboard Wi-Fi 7 module delivered consistent speeds on my home network, and the 5G LAN port ensures you’re ready for faster wired connections if you have the service to match. It’s nice to see MSI equipping even mid-range boards with these options. As Fiber and the rollout of DOCSIS 4.0 for cable companies gain momentum over the next few years, this board will prepare you for the arrival of those faster internet speeds.

Just in Case It Mattered to You?

For builds using this motherboard, I would highly recommend a full tower desktop case. Before you ask, yes, most mid-tower cases can support this; however, why deal with all the hassle of making sure all your new hardware will fit in the case? I’m currently using the HYTE Y70, and this gives me plenty of room to work without having to awkwardly maneuver around tight spaces. Trust me, I’m thankful there was plenty of room for me to connect all the components without worrying I might slip my hand and break a connector or damage any capacitor on the motherboard. If you’re looking to shop for a spacious case, the newly released HYTE Y70 in collaboration with Honkai Star Rail is worth checking out, but really, any full tower will do the job well.

Nowadays, the latest graphics are roughly the size of a brick, and because it is heavy, you should consider getting a support bracket or a vertical mount. So a large case will have enough room without trying to squeeze everything in.

MSI includes an EZ PCIe Release button just below the DDR memory slots, which is hard to miss. This handy addition makes life easier when troubleshooting or swapping out your GPU. It’s simple: press to unlock, remove your graphics card, then press again to lock it back in once reinstalled. It’s a great design, allowing you to “eject” your GPU from the slot without it feeling like a tug-of-war, with the board winning, and causing fear of potentially ripping the slot out.

Verdict

The MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk Max WiFi delivers exactly what it promises: a well-balanced AM5 motherboard that nails the fundamentals. It may not be the flashiest board on the market, but it’s a reliable workhorse built with gamers and performance-focused users in mind.

The power delivery design is robust enough to handle high-end CPUs, the connectivity is modern and forward-looking, and the installation experience is one of the smoothest I’ve had. For most gamers and builders out there, this will be the perfect board with everything you need.

Compared to my older ASUS Prime B650M-A AX6, the Tomahawk feels like a more mature and capable option. It’s the kind of board you can drop into a build today and feel confident it’ll support upgrades for years to come.

If you’re building an AM5 system and want something reliable without stepping all the way up to a pricier X870 board, the MAG B850 Tomahawk Max WiFi is an easy recommendation. MSI has built a board that delivers where it matters most.

Score: 9.5/10

Report: Screenshots for Rare’s Everwild Unveiled, Featuring UI and More

For years, Everwild felt more like a ghost than a game. Announced in 2019, Rare’s next big multiplayer title quickly ran into problems throughout its development, soon becoming another victim of the infamous development hell.

Shifts in internal leadership and reports of a creative reboot in 2021 haunted the game until it finally met its demise as part of the massive restructuring wave that hit Xbox this year. Given that work on the game reportedly began in 2014, it would have been in development for over a decade before its cancellation. So while it’s no surprise that Xbox ultimately axed the project, the loss remains a shame nonetheless.

Throughout this troubled cycle, the only things we ever received were two cinematic trailers. But if you thought we had seen the last of Everwild, think again. We’ve since stumbled upon a collection of development screenshots that offer a brief glimpse into the project, revealing details about game features and a good look at the UI.

UI and Screenshots for Rare’s Everwild

The gallery originates from the website of an artist who worked on the game, and the images come from a version relatively close to its cancellation.

While the screenshots mainly showcase work done for the interfaces, we can also spot other elements, such as in-game captures that follow the distinctive visual style seen in the trailers, including the player character standing near a large, marked stone circle on the ground, and another in which she can be seen in front of some kind of temple.

Within the UI, we get a detailed look at the inventory screen, which features six distinct tabs: Favourites, Figments, Tools, Mosaics, Seeds, and Plants. Beyond the standard Tools and the Favourites quick-access bar, the other sections are far more interesting.

The Figments tab, for instance, displays small and colorful creatures, one of which is specifically labeled as a “Light Figment,” suggesting a system for collecting or utilizing these creatures. Equally interesting is the Mosaics tab, which we can speculate would have served a decorative purpose. Some of these mosaics depict characters and animals previously seen, including the deer-like creature featured in the trailers.

In another capture, we get a closer look at the Plants tab (sometimes referred to as the Seeds tab). This section is largely self-explanatory: an area dedicated to various seeds used for planting, featuring a “Shrub Seed”, and indicating that players would have had access to a plant compendium.

Other interface details are mentioned on the website and reveal that Rare would have leveraged player data from Sea of Thieves when designing Everwild’s settings system. According to the artist, this was done to understand which configurations players most frequently interacted with.

Unfortunately, it’s hard to know where Rare will go after the cancellation of Everwild. Part of the Everwild workforce will likely be relocated to Sea of Thieves (not counting the people laid off), lending further support for the live service title.

But if we are hopeful, this cancellation might offer an opportunity for Rare to revive some of its iconic franchises, such as Banjo-Kazooie or Killer Instinct. Interestingly enough, rumors from a few years ago indicated that new games for both of those franchises were in development. Now, we can only wait to see if either of these new entries will ever materialize.

Another former Rare-developed game recently made rounds here on MP1st as well, as gameplay details and concept screens of Xbox’s cancelled Perfect Dark reboot surfaced recently.

Battlefield 6 High CPU Usage Fix Guide That Can Improve Framerates

For those playing Battlefield 6 on PC, you may have noticed some framerate issues on your build. While there are many contributing factors, several players in the community (including us) have experienced unusually high CPU usage while playing the game. Whether intended or not, there’s a fix for that, which should mean a cooler-running CPU, and even possibly improved framerates.

Here’s how you fix Battlefield 6’s high CPU usage.

Battlefield 6 High CPU Usage Fix Guide

The fix, which comes courtesy of YouTuber Minnidot, involves a few simple steps. You can follow the video guide above, but I’ve also prepared a text guide below.

First and foremost, what isn’t mentioned in the video guide above is to find your game installation and save its path somewhere. This may vary for everyone, specifically if you are using the EA App or Steam and have your games installed in a path other than the default one. I will show you how to locate the pathing for each client.

Steam – How to find where Battlefield 6 is installed:

  • Open Steam, then go to the library and locate Battlefield 6.
  • Right-click, select Manage, then browse local files. This will open the folder up.
  • At the very top of the folder, you’ll see the path of your installation. It should look something like this: This PC/Your Drive/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Battlefield 6
  • Keep this folder open, or copy the path by right-clicking on Battlefield 6 and selecting copy address. You can also left click on the blank space to the right of Battlefield 6 and select it all, then ctrl+c to copy, and ctrl+v to paste.

EA App – How to find where Battlefield 6 is installed:

  • Open the EA App, go to the library, and locate Battlefield 6.
  • The game’s art box will have two icons on it, one with a triangle in a blue box (the play button) on the bottom right, and the other a gray box with three dots on the top right. Hit the three-button box, then click View Properties.
  •  You’ll see the install location here. You can open the folder.
  • At the very top of the folder, you’ll see the path of your installation that should be the same as the one listed by EA in the previous step.
  • Keep this folder open, or copy the path by right-clicking on Battlefield 6 and selecting copy address. You can also left click on the blank space to the right of Battlefield 6 and select it all, then ctrl+c to copy, and ctrl+v to paste.

Alright, so keep the install location on hand, you’ll need it in a few.

So let’s open up Notepad (search for the app using Windows’ Search Bar if it’s on your taskbar) and paste the following:

Thread.ProcessorCount 8

Thread.MaxProcessorCount 8

Thread.MinFreeProcessorCount 0

Thread.JobThreadPriority 0

GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount 16

DO NOT SAVE YET

There’s a little editing you’ll need to do here, as this info is set up for an AMD 9800x3d CPU. If you have that, great, move, we’ll get to what you need to do in a minute. For now, follow along just in case.

So the next step you want to do is open up your task manager by right-clicking on the blank space (so not on an app) on the taskbar (that bar on the bottom of your screen). A Task Manager option should be available; select that, and the taskbar will open. Select the performance menu on the left side (hit the three-bar icon to open up the navigation), then select the CPU box. Here, you want to locate the Cores and Logical Processors.

Return to the Notepad you just created and update the content based on your numbers. I am using my example above in this case. Leave the ones with 0 at the end as they will remain unchanged.

Thread.ProcessorCount 8 ——> Thread.ProcessorCount 16

Thread.MaxProcessorCount 8 ——> Thread.MaxProcessorCount 16

GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount 16 ——> GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount 32

Now go to the file, and select Save As. This will open a default folder. Navigate to the directory bar and copy and paste your Battlefield 6 installation address from the steps earlier. We are ready to save, all we need to do is name the file User.cfg and make sure the save as type says “All Files.”

That’s it; you should now be able to launch Battlefield 6 and notice the CPU usage is no longer extremely high. In my case, I went from averaging around 55-60% in-game with peaks of 70-80% to now averaging 30% with peaks of 50%. My general framerate now seems to hold up a lot better, too, with significantly less stuttering, if not completely free.

Not only does this improve performance in some cases, but it also means that your CPU temps won’t get as hot when pushed to high loads for so long.

Oddly, this was an issue not only during the Battlefield 6 open beta but also in Battlefield 2042, meaning it’s been an issue for a long while. Hopefully, Battlefield Studios will release a more widespread fix, as not everyone will be aware of this issue.

Be sure to check out our Battlefield 6 best settings guide for PC and consoles, especially now that this fix has been applied.

Borderlands 4 First Post-Launch DLCs Detailed; Free Endgame Update Arrives in December

It’s been exactly one month since the release of Borderlands 4, and with many having already completed it, the next question that is on their minds is: What comes next? Well, the previous roadmap announcement gave us an idea about that, but Gearbox has just revealed even more details at Pax Australia around the upcoming post-launch DLC.

Get ready, because a Halloween event is kicking things off this month, with free and paid content coming in the weeks and months to follow.

Borderlands 4 Post-Launch Content for 2025 Gets Detailed

First up on the list of drops is the free, limited-time Seasonal Mini-Event called Horrors of Kairos. It will begin on Oct 23 and run through Nov 6, during which world bosses will change the weather to terror-inducing blood rain. The following legendary rewards can be earned during the event.

  • “Murmur” Legendary Tediore Assault Rifle: Executes weakened enemies with guaranteed crits on targets under 35% health
  • “Skully” Legendary Order Grenade: This death-dealing grenade fires out projectiles as it seeks out the nearest target

Then, later in November, the first paid DLC, Bounty Pack 1:How Rush Saved Mercenary Day, arrives.

It’s currently scheduled to launch on November 20, with an asterisk indicating that the launch date is subject to change if any delays arise. Here’s what Gearbox has to say about Bounty Pack 1:

“Rush, the affable leader of the Outbounders, is feeling homesick and nostalgic for the holidays he’s cherished in years past. By his calculations, it’s about to be Mercenary Day, a jolly time for gift-giving and gunslinging with friends and family, and he’d like to bring that same festive cheer to the people of Kairos. But his hopes for holiday merriment stand in direct opposition to Screw, the Timekeeper’s Minister of Culture who’s charged with keeping celebrations as bland and homogenous as possible. Across a series of all-new Main Missions, you’ll show Screw the true meaning of Mercenary Day by any means necessary, and maybe score some new Legendary loot in the process.”

Owners will be able to earn 24 new collectables, with an additional four re-rollable pieces of legendary gear. Here’s a breakdown of everything.

  • 4 rerollable weapons
  • 4 Vault Hunter Heads usable by VexRafaAmon, and Harlowe
  • 4 Vault Hunter Skins usable by VexRafaAmon, and Harlowe
  • 5 Weapon Skins
  • 5 Vehicle Skins
  • 4 ECHO-4 Drone Skins
  • 2 ECHO-4 Attachments

And finally, to close the year off, a free endgame update is coming in December.

A new deadly foe arrives this December, called Bloomreaper the Invincible. They are the first of many free planned endgame Invincible Bosses, which are essentially raid bosses and will have special modifiers, as well as unique legendary loot to earn.

We’ll learn more about this update as we inch closer to December, but for now, we’ll have Horrors of Kairos to look forward to, which arrives on October 23, 2025.

Borderlands 4 is now available to purchase globally, on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is scheduled to arrive at a later date. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out our review of Borderlands 4 to find out why it’s one of the best games in the franchise.

WWE 2K25 Switch 2 Review – Taking the Show on the Road

The Nintendo Switch and WWE games have not had a great history together, with WWE 2K18 being the last mainline entry in the series (besides WWE 2K Battlegrounds) to appear on the system, due to the poor port quality of WWE 2K18. 2K Sports releases on Switch have often had to be hampered and based on last-gen console versions at best, so the WWE bowed out completely after that, probably for the better.

That has all changed now, though, with the much more powerful Nintendo Switch 2. WWE 2K25 has received a port for the system, which is a massive improvement and finally brings the full WWE experience to Nintendo consoles.

Triumphant Return to the Switch

The power of the Switch 2 is exponentially better than its predecessor, enabling the system to not only have many more games ported to it but also maintain visual quality comparable to platforms like the PS5 or Xbox Series X. In fact, most of the time these visuals fall somewhere in between what would have been PS4 and PS5 level graphics, which is quite impressive for a hybrid system like the Switch 2. WWE 2K25 for the other platforms once again took things to the next level visually, ensuring that each wrestler added to the game looks as good as possible, often by scanning the wrestlers directly to achieve an accurate depiction in-game. The Switch 2 may not quite reach the levels of, say, the PS5’s version this year, but it’s still rather impressive and looks fantastic in action, even with the concessions they had to make for the less powerful platform. This is the case both in docked and in handheld, with the lighting and level of detail in the character models being minimally different.

Considering how many ports on the original Switch performed in handheld mode, I was very interested to see how WWE 2K25 would perform. Not only did the game look great, but the performance was top-notch, with a solid 60fps frame rate that I didn’t notice dropping below, even if only slightly. Considering how crazy some action can get in this game with War Games matches and ring-filled Royal Rumbles, the consistent frame rate was pretty amazing. The only downside is that it would cut to 30fps during various in-game cutscenes, so you have to be ready for that.

For those expecting WWE 2K25 on Nintendo Switch 2 to be an all-inclusive version with the season pass content included, you will be left disappointed. Just like with the original release earlier this year, WWE 2K25 for Switch comes in three versions: the standard base version, the Deadman Edition, and the Bloodline Edition. Both of the premium editions include the season pass, with the Bloodline offering a bit more content, such as the Nation of Domination Rock, Action Figure Jey Uso and Roman Reigns, and an extra 100,000 VC to spend. While it may be a letdown for some, this is pretty understandable since the original release for other platforms just released back in March, and the Season Pass itself is still ongoing as we speak. If they had suddenly packaged everything into the base package on Switch 2, people on other platforms would have probably felt cheated.

Carrying Over the New Features

If this is your first time playing WWE 2K25, this year’s game added a number of new features on top of upgrades to existing modes. One of the biggest was the inclusion of intergender wrestling, which fit perfectly for matchups like Rhea Ripley against Dominik Mysterio based on how that story was going prior. However, now I was much more excited to have CM Punk and Becky Lynch face off, considering how the current rivalries are going. In fact, I’m still waiting for a Community Creation for AJ Lee’s return look to pop up so I can do the upcoming mixed tag match between CM Punk/AJ Lee and Seth Rollins/Becky Lynch that will be taking place at Wrestlepalooza.

This year’s game also introduced a new submission mini-game that added even more intensity to every submission attempt. Returning was the much-requested chain wrestling, which allowed you to execute a chain wrestling mini-game up to two times each match. Within the chain wrestling, you will be fighting with the opponent by picking options like Switch, Drive, and Attack, and then picking more options like Wrench in what is quite an intricate system, but it pays great dividends when you use it correctly.

There were also a couple of new match types introduced with Bloodline Rules and Underground matches. Bloodline Rules works like most of the crazy matches involving the Bloodline over the last few years, where anything pretty much goes, as more allies can be called in to help throughout the match. Underground matches, on the other hand, are a lot more unique, as you get to wrestle in a ring without any ropes, where the crowd is right there in the midst of the action.

The massive roster of superstars included in the original release is still here, including over 300 different variations of wrestlers that you can eventually unlock. As mentioned before, if you have the season pass, you will also have immediate access to a number of already released DLC superstars like Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, Penta, and even Shaquille O’Neal. In fact, there are still two more DLC packs to come as part of the season pass that will add additional wrestlers like Mark Henry and Jesse Ventura. Needless to say, there are plenty of different options to pick from on the roster as of this point.

A Trip Through History

Not only do you have plenty of wrestlers to choose from, but you’ve also got an abundance of different game modes and game types at your disposal in WWE 2K25. One of my personal favorites each year is the Showcase mode, this year titled The Bloodline Dynasty. This hybrid documentary/story mode lets you take part in 17 total matches in addition to the bonus opener that reenacts WrestleMania 40’s incredible title match.

From there, you are treated to interviews with people like “The Wiseman” Paul Heyman, Roman Reigns, and Solo Sikoa that are interspersed between matches spanning the decades of the Anoa’i, Fatu, and Malvia families that have been at the heart of the WWE over the years. This all starts with a match between Yokozuna and Hulk Hogan at King of the Ring 1993, and later includes matches such as Rocky Maivia vs. Hunter Hearst Helmsley from RAW 1997 and The Usos vs. The New Day at Hell in a Cell 2017. My favorites are some of the ones where you are asked to change history in the match, such as Umaga vs. John Cena at New Year’s Revolution 2007 or Rikishi vs. “Stone Cold’ Steve Austin at No Mercy 2000. What was really cool here is that the changing history matches weren’t always just as simple as, say, having Umaga win instead of John Cena. In the case of Rikishi, he was “arrested” during his match for trying to run over “Stone Cold” prior, but now you actually get to finish the match that never happened.

MyRise is also back with what was already one of the best story modes in years for the series. In this story, you get to play as a wrestler in both the Men’s and Women’s Division, and the two superstars you create end up having their stories intertwined, so you go back and forth between them after you start by being the #1 pick in the WWE Draft. The main story here is that a rival group known as NXT Mutiny pops up, featuring both young NXT superstars and several Red and Blue brand superstars who have roots in NXT and decide to join them instead. The goal is for NXT Mutiny to become the top brand at WWE, and it’s still a lot of fun to play through, even with knowing how the story beats are going to go this time around.

The most polarizing and significant letdown of WWE 2K25 was The Island, a new game mode that attempted to emulate what NBA 2K has done for years with The City, while also introducing some unique elements. The Island of Relevancy, where it takes place, is pretty cool. It’s complete with wrestling references all around the island, including places named after different wrestlers. However, the actual gameplay structure is where things take a major dive. Most of your experience is fetch quests that often feel totally like a waste of time, especially considering the outcomes of the quests here. You can’t even fast-travel around, either, which makes the overall experience just feel sluggish. In addition, this is a major area of the game where VC plays a part, with you having to spend way too much VC just to get any cosmetic items worth anything from the various shops, which you probably should save for leveling up instead. On the plus side, being able to be played on the go does add a little more appeal to this mode, as the grind for VC by doing the fetch quests isn’t quite as bad when you can multitask by doing something else. Even so, The Island is something that hopefully will be improved greatly upon by next year’s iteration, as it does have some potential.

There are even more game modes to choose from, such as MyGM mode, Universe Mode, and MyFaction, all of which were quite enjoyable. MyGM lets you take control of one of the brands between SmackDown, RAW, NXT, NXT 2.0, WCE, ECW, and even NXT Mutiny from My Rise and play GM as you organize matches to try to become the most successful brand from a business standpoint. Universe mode is sort of the other side of the coin, where you pick a superstar and play through their week-to-week story. Lastly, MyFaction is the card-collecting Ultimate Team variant that most games like this have. This is the most microtransaction involved mode, as you have to keep getting packs to upgrade, so your enjoyment may largely depend on how invested you’re going to be in that.

Community Creations are still fantastic in WWE 2K25, with people’s creativity really thriving through their bevy of creations. One downside here, though, is that, like the other platforms, there is no cross-platform sharing of community creations. This wasn’t as big a deal when the other platforms launched at the same time, but it would have been nice if they could have figured out how to connect them so that the Switch 2 would have access to the incredible creations from the past months from the get-go. Also, the Image Manager is not available in the Switch 2 version for some reason, which is a letdown. That said, there are still plenty of great creations already in there, such as Joe Hendry (Yes, we still BELIEVE in him) and the aforementioned AJ Lee.

Verdict

WWE 2K25 was already one of the best recent entries in the series, with the last three years doing a fantastic job of building upon each other by adding new content to the already included offerings. After a seven-and-a-half-year hiatus on Switch systems, it was great to see WWE 2K25 be ported to Switch 2 so soon after the launch of the console and in such great shape. The game is almost fully intact, minus the removal of Image Manager in Community Creations, and it performs well and looks great, though not quite at the level visually as on other next-gen consoles. If you were looking to enjoy some wrestling on the go or even just to multitask while watching Monday Night RAW at home each week, WWE 2K25 on Nintendo Switch 2 is an excellent option for those who already own the game for other platforms and especially new players.

Score: 8.5/10

Pros:

  • Performs at a consistent 60fps in both docked and handheld
  • Visuals are not that diminished from PS5/Xbox Series X versions
  • Variety of game modes to choose from
  • The Bloodline Dynasty Showcase mode
  • Can pick up and play with handheld mode, which does help The Island a bit

Cons:

  • No cross-platform sharing of Community Creations
  • Removal of Image Manager
  • No DLC inclusion in base package

Skate Servers Hit With Long Queues and Crashes This Oct. 12 as Thousands of Players Try to Sign In

It looks like Skate is having some server issues, as the game has been hit with a queue screen. But that’s not all, as reports of crashing across all platforms have begun to surface for users trying to sign in.

Here’s the status of Skate servers.

Skate Server Crashes and Long Queue Times to Oct. 12

Players trying to log into Skate today may have noticed that the servers are taking a hit, so much so that the queue screen has been enabled as tens of thousands flood the servers. With it being Sunday, the typical day where a game sees the most traffic, it’s no surprise that Skate is having issues, especially since the Season 1 update launched this past week, with many now jumping into it for the first time this weekend. \

But that’s not the only issue that seems to be hitting players, as reports of crashes (including from us) are now surfacing with players crashing on all platforms as soon as the game logs them in.

We all crashing on logins or is just me?
byu/lamerthenme inSkateEA

Let’s hope that Full Circle is working on resolving these issues.

We’ll keep an eye on things, and if anything improves, we’ll update the story. For now, all you can do is wait and keep trying, and maybe you’ll get lucky and get into the game.

Skate is now available in early access on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Battlefield 6 Battle Royale Launch Date – Rumors and Everything We Know

Battlefield 6 is officially here! With everyone now jumping into the multiplayer and enjoying everything it has to offer, the next question that is undoubtedly on many people’s minds is: When is the Battle Royale mode releasing?

Well, that’s one of the game’s biggest mysteries, and with Season 1 confirmed to arrive on October 28, many believe that Battlefield 6’s Battle Royale mode is going to launch the same day.

When Does Battlefield 6 Battle Royale Launch? Well, Rumors Point to the Same Day as Season 1

For those wondering, there is no official release date for Battlefield 6 Battle Royale yet. We know that the Battlefield teams are currently playtesting the mode via Battlefield Labs, but beyond that, there has been no official word on its launch. We’re expecting that to change really soon, though, if rumors are to be believed, as the current unofficial launch date for Battlefield 6 Battle Royale mode is October 28, 2025.

This is the same day that Season 1 launches for Battlefield 6, and although it does seem odd that DICE and the rest of the Battlefield Studios wouldn’t mention it, it doesn’t mean it isn’t entirely true. In fact, we wouldn’t put it past them to shadowdrop the mode out of the blue as some massive surprise for the fanbase. Perhaps they’ll take a page out of Respawn’s book with the drop; however, in that case, Apex Legends was entirely free, whereas here it sounds like it’ll be a mode added to the premium experience.

What Do We Know About Battle Royale Mode in Battlefield 6?

We might not have an official release date for the mode, but we do have some official information about it, as the studios recently released a community update around the playtests. To keep things in a “too long, didn’t read” format, I have outlined all the key features of the Battle Royale mode. There’s a lot of other information available, most of it coming from leaks; however, I will avoid listing any of that, as it could change by the time it launches. Going to keep it strictly to officially confirmed details.

  • Infused with the core pillars of Battlefield
  • Map: Battlefield is no stranger to epic maps, and this all-new map has been built for the Battle Royale experience. It features a diverse array of tactical Points of Interest, each with distinct layouts and themes that offer unique gameplay opportunities.
  • Vehicles: Players can find common transport vehicles around the map and even unlock powerful armored vehicles to turn the tide of battle. The intent is to offer more ways for players to traverse the map early on in a match and to create interesting combined arms action in the process.
  • Tactical Destruction: Destruction will be everywhere in this mode. From creating pathways through walls to toppling buildings, we look forward to seeing players’ ingenuity with destruction and how they use it to defeat their opponents.
  • Squadplay: For this test, each match will feature 100 players, organized into 25 four-player squads, fighting to be the last one standing. Communicating with your squad through pings, text, or VOIP aims to boost the experience and enhance their tactical options.
  • Second chances: Between the Support class revives and Mobile Redeploy options, there are multiple tools to keep your squad in the fight.
  • Claims to have the deadliest ring in the Battle Royale genre. It’s a ring of fire, and touching it will instantly kill you, so no fighting inside of it.
  • You can pick from the four core classes, but once a match starts, you are stuck with that class.
  • Each class starts out with its two default gadgets.
  • 5 tiers of weapons to loot along with attachments, throwables (Ex. Frag Grenades), gadgets (Ex. RPGs), Strike Packages (Ex. Air Strike), armor, upgrade kits, and custom drops of favorited weapons..
  • Custom loadouts that can be called in after completing specific missions.
  • Players can take on missions to earn extra XP.
  • Dropping in – Like any Battle Royale, Battlefield 6’s will begin each match with players dropping into the game via helicopter. You’ll jump out of it, pick a point to land, and parachute to it.

That’s all we know about the Battle Royale mode, and with Season 1 arriving in a few short weeks, if rumors are indeed true, then expect an official announcement very soon.

We’ll keep you updated once we have more information, but for now, get out there and enjoy the core Battlefield experience.

How Progression Wipes Work in ARC Raiders

Embark Studios aims to address the biggest issue with extraction shooters: mandatory wipes. While some have grown to the idea, many, including myself, hate the thought of losing everything and starting over again. All those hours down the drain, especially if you’re someone with a full-time job. Wipes can be a very frustrating aspect of extraction shooters, and feeling like you’ve made no progress is understandably a massive turnoff for the genre.

Well, it looks like ARC Raiders is going to have a solution for that, as wipes will be completely optional.

ARC Raiders Wipes Are Optional, Not Mandatory

Embark Studios is changing the extraction shooter game by eliminating the mandatory wipe of all accounts after a specific period. Yep, you read right, wipes in ARC Raiders will be completely optional. The reason being? It’s because the studio understands that not everyone has all the time in the world to play. Many of us work and have other priorities that come before gaming, and when we do game, it’s usually for a few short hours, if we’re lucky enough to have that time. There is nothing more frustrating than coming home to realize you’ve lost everything because you weren’t aware of an impending wipe.

Seems that won’t be an issue for ARC Raiders, but wipes will still exist; they’ll just be optional. Wipes, or as Embark dubs them, the Expedition Project, will be completely optional for players who hit level 20 during the Expedition Cycle. If they choose to wipe, they’ll lose all of the following:

  • Players will lose anything inherent to their character’s progress. Levels, skills, items/inventory, workshop, crafting capabilities, etc.
  • Players will keep cosmetics (earned or purchased), awards, achievements, rankings, etc. Essentially, anything rooted solely in the metagame or involving real money will be preserved.
  • For convenience, after completing an Expedition players will be able to skip the majority of the onboarding and tutorial steps they went through as a new player. This being things like unlocking certain features, maps, etc. as they play through the early game. These will just be available from the start of a fresh reset.

But any cosmetics (earned or purchased), awards, achievements, rankings, etc. Essentially, anything rooted solely in the metagame or involving real money will be kept.

Expedition cycles will run for 8 weeks, culminating in a “finalized” phase. If a player meets the project completion criteria, they can proceed with the wipe.

So, I suppose the next question everyone has is, what is the point of wiping if it’s optional? Well, there will be some incentives, though Embark is being very careful with the benefits, as they don’t want them to give any players any clear combat advantage. They’ll mostly be about bragging rights, which can be shown off with some unlocks.

  • Permanent account unlocks for each completed Expedition
  • Unique cosmetic rewards for each completed Expedition
  • Account “buffs” that are applied for the duration of the following Expedition cycle
    • And sequential completions of the Expedition Project increase the magnitude of these buffs, up to a limit.

Seems like a fair system if you ask me. Players with limited time can rest easy knowing their progress is preserved, while those who prefer playing “fresh” can still do so and earn rewards for it. Of course, that’s all subject to change, now and between launch, and of course, later in the game’s life. But I am liking the idea of this, so here’s to hoping that it actually plays out well.

ARC Raider officially launches on October 31, 2025, on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. As a reminder, a Server Slam playtest is scheduled for October 17, giving players another chance to play ARC Raiders until October 19, 2025.

Battlefield 6 Pays Homage to Battlefield Friends via Easter Egg

My God! We’ve heard rumors of its existence, created legends around it, but never in my dreams did I ever expect to see a Bipod Knife in Battlefield 6.

Granted, you can’t actually use it, but its addition is a clear tribute to the YouTube series Battlefield Friends, and the note left by it is even more evidence.

Battlefield 6 Has a Bipod Knife That You Can’t Use, But We Wish You Could

While no doubt many of you are playing Battlefield 6 for the online multiplayer, there is a campaign mode also available to play through. Not to say it’s good, because I just rolled through the credits last night, and I think the criticisms around it are pretty spot-on. Still, that’s not to say you can’t have some fun with it, and the Battlefield Studios have also used the campaign as an opportunity to add some Easter eggs.

In the previous title,  Battlefield 2042, the studio really liked its addition of penguins in the online multiplayer, with even some cosmetics themed after them.

Eagle-eyed fans may notice some references to penguins in the campaign, though there is one specific Easter egg that players can find that’s actually a tribute to the 2012 YouTube animation series, Battlefield Friends.

In the mission, No Sleep, players are taken to a base camp at the very start, with a bunch of tents set around the area. One of these tents, located by a metal fence to the left of the main objective, has three soldiers standing in front of it. While it could be seen as a callback to a recently deceased member of Battlefield Friends (leaving only three), the classes don’t align, making it feel like a missed opportunity by the Battlefield Studios.

But moving on, inside the tent, there are beds, with one of them having a backpack with a weird-looking knife beside it. Upon further inspection, you’d notice the knife has a bipod attachment with a note reading “Promoted!” which is a clear callback to Noob screaming promoted every time he earned a rank for the dumbest stuff.

Here’s the episode for those wanting to see where it originally came from:

It’s pretty awesome to see this, as any long-time Battlefield fan could probably tell you that this series was a big part of growing up with the franchise post-Battlefield 3. We’re glad to see the studios pay their tributes to it, though this isn’t the first time they have, with even the cast appearing in Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 4 with voicelines.

We’re sure there are plenty of other cool Easter eggs scattered around in the game, both during campaign and multiplayer, and I cannot wait to see what the community ends up finding. My fingers are crossed that there’s a Megaladon-sized Easter Egg hidden somewhere.

Battlefield 6 is now available globally on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. While the game is off to a rocking start, cheaters and hackers have inflitrated the game a day after release.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Switch 2 Version Spotted at Retailer, Confirming Game-Key Card Release

Rumors about Assassin’s Creed Shadows coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 have been circulating for months. Earlier this year, the game was even rated for Switch 2, and Ubisoft’s CEO hinted during a financial meeting that it would launch on “other machines,” without naming any platform directly.

Now, a newly leaked retailer listing seems to back up those reports, suggesting a Switch 2 version may indeed be on the way.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows for Nintendo Switch 2 Revealed by a Retailer

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Switch 2

The game recently appeared on the French retailer Auchan’s website, complete with a cover and product details, adding weight to rumors of a Switch 2 release. However, the listing doesn’t include a release date or price; it’ll likely be around $69.99, just like on other platforms.

Like Star Wars Outlaws, Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Switch 2 also seems to use a game key card format instead of a full cartridge. This means players will get a physical box, but the actual game will still need to be downloaded. Considering the game’s size on other platforms is over 100GB, this approach isn’t surprising.

Many players aren’t fans of this format since “key card” editions feel like a middle ground between digital and physical copies. You still have to download most of the game, so it doesn’t feel like a real physical release and collectors don’t see much value in owning an empty box. Even so, publishers continue using this format because Switch 2 cartridges have limited storage, and making bigger ones costs a lot more.

In any case, take this with a grain of salt, as nothing has been officially confirmed by the developers. We’ll be sure to keep you updated here at MP1st as more information comes out.

Our review of Assassin’s Creed Shadows gave it a score of 7.5 out of 10, stating, “Although Assassin’s Creed: Shadows doesn’t quite live up to my lofty expectations, it still delivers a generally good and enjoyable experience.”

In other news, an Assassin’s Creed game set during the post–American Civil War period was reportedly canceled, with reasons including the backlash surrounding Assassin’s Creed Shadows and the current political climate in the United States.

Remedy Issues “Profit Warning” as FBC: Firebreak Fails to Meet Sales Targets

Remedy Entertainment has suffered a major setback following the failure of FBC: Firebreak, a live service game that failed to attract players and caused significant losses for the company.

In a notice to investors, Remedy issued a profit warning, stating that it expects to end the current fiscal year with a loss, marking a reversal from its earlier expectations of a positive result.

Remedy Says that FBC: Firebreak has Underperformed

FBC: Firebreak sales

In its 2025 half-year financial report, Remedy revealed that FBC: Firebreak’s launch-phase consumer sales underperformed, falling short of expectations. As a result, the studio’s financial outlook has turned negative.

At launch, FBC: Firebreak received many negative reviews, discouraging players who were already unsure about trying an online shooter from Remedy, even though the game was offered as part of PlayStation Plus.

After release, the company quickly responded to player feedback and rolled out several updates to improve the game. On September 29, Remedy released the first major update, titled Breakpoint, which “brought significant changes to the game’s core experience.” Following this update, player engagement and sales metrics improved, but sales still did not reach Remedy’s internal targets.

Because of the low sales, Remedy lowered its long-term sales forecast and recorded a non-cash impairment of €14.9 million, covering most of the game’s capitalized development, publishing, and distribution costs.

The developers have not disclosed the exact size of their projected losses but noted that they will be smaller than last year’s. For reference, in 2024 Remedy reported losses of €4.3 million.

Despite these financial challenges, Remedy confirmed that it does not plan to abandon FBC: Firebreak and will continue developing and improving the game in line with “updated long-term sales forecast.”

MP1st’s review of FBC: Firebreak gave it a score of 6.5 out of 10, stating, “It’s hard to recommend the game in its current state, but if it becomes part of Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus Extra, and you’re subscribed to either, then yes, I’d say give it a shot.”

Within a Day of Launch, Hackers and Cheaters Have Already Invaded Battlefield 6

It seems that no online multiplayer is safe from hackers and cheaters. First, it was Call of Duty Black Ops 7 beta this past week, and now their focus has shifted over to EA’s Battlefield franchise, with the latest release, Battlefield 6. Although the Battlefield Studios have a new kernel-level anti-cheat system called Javelin that has done wonders in recent games like Battlefield 2042 and Battlefield 1 (the latter many say has “saved” the game), it seems that it’s not entirely foolproof.

Video evidence has begun surfacing online, with cheaters using aim-assisted tools to get the upper hand on players.

Battlefield 6 Already Showing Signs of a Cheater Problem, Though It’s Hard to Say How Bad

In clips that are beginning to make their rounds on the internet, Battlefield 6 has become the latest target of cheaters and hackers.

The post, featuring multiple clips, showcases clearly aim-assisted tools that reveal the locations of other players and auto-target them whenever they are in view. It’s hard to say just how severe this is becoming in the game, but it’s clear from the footage that cheaters are still getting through Javelin.

That’s not to say the tool hasn’t been effective, as its implementation in Battlefield 2042 and Battlefield 1 has proven relatively successful, eliminating a significant number of cheaters that previously infested those games. Not entirely free of them, but to the point that they are now much more playable than they were before, where the anti-cheat measures were basically nonexistent.

Seeing cheaters at Battlefield 6 launch should come as no surprise, because much like Call of Duty’s cheaters, they love flocking to the most popular games out there. Why, you might ask? Well, some aim to make a profit, while others gloat and pretend they’re really good at the game. Whatever the reason is, I think as a gaming community, we can agree that they’re some of the worst players around.

It’s not so much surprising to see them here still, as EA previously reported that they had blocked over 330,000 attempts with Javelin during the Open Beta. That’s quite a lot of players, and with the game surpassing its concurrent player count during the open beta on Steam with the full release, we’re sure there are plenty trying to wiggle their way into matches to ruin for other players.

Why It’s So Hard to Spot Cheaters in Battlefield 6

Unlike Call of Duty, Battlefield 6 doesn’t feature a killcam. So all we can do is rely on our gut instincts and pay close attention to kill feeds and the way a player moves. If they are consistently getting headshot kills, and I mean like, nonstop on the feed, then there’s a good chance they might be cheating. The best course of action would be to report them, and if they are cheating, let EA and the Battlefield Studios deal with it from there.

Console players will sadly need to deal with it, as there is currently no way to enable console-only crossplay. I can tell you from playing first-hand that most of my lobbies have been mixed between console and PC players. Although crossplay can be turned off, the issue is that most users won’t bother changing the default, making it harder to find non-bot-filled matches.

Players would have probably preferred the cross-play system to only match with other PC players when a mouse and keyboard were detected on the console, or when you partied up with someone on PC. Sadly, that isn’t the case

Let’s hope Javelin becomes as effective as Call of Duty’s RICOCHET tool was during the Black Ops 7 Open Beta, which achieved a 98.8% success rate in blocking cheaters by day five.

Either way, expect both Call of Duty and Battlefield to ramp up their anti-cheat measures in the coming weeks, as the war on cheaters is a never-ending one.

Battlefield 6 is now available globally on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Don’t forget to check our best settings guide to find out which sensitivity options and whatnot work best in the game.

Dragon Ball FighterZ Major Balance Update Announced; Super Saiyan 4 DAIMA Goku Coming Spring 2026

It’s been over 8 months since the last Dragon Ball FighterZ update, with a majority of the community thinking that Arc System Works were “finished” with the game as they shifted their focus to Guilty Gear Strive, Granblue, and soon, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Well, it seems that’s not entirely the case, as they’ve just come out of the woodwork with a surprise announcement for Dragon Ball FighterZ concerning what’s next for the game.

Fans can look forward to a new major balance update, arriving tomorrow for Dragon Ball FighterZ. But it’s 2026 that is looking to bring the game’s biggest addition, as a new fighter is joining the roster.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is Powering Up to Super Saiyan 4 Next Year

As announced at EVO France 2025, a new balance update for Dragon Ball FighterZ is going live tomorrow, October 12, 2025. Full patch notes for the balancing adjustments will be live soon, so stay tuned.

As exciting as a surprise update may be, that’s not the only thing that Arc System Works had for us, as the news is also accompanied by the reveal of Super Saiyan 4 (DIAMA) Goku. Nope, you aren’t reading that wrong, the new Super Saiyan 4 rendition that debuted during the DIAMA series is coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ! He’s set to arrive in the Spring of 2026.

This feels so out of left field, considering how support for the game has basically been done. Sure, we’ve gotten a few updates here and there, but the last one was over 8 months ago. To make it even more surprising, the last DLC character we got, Android 21 (Lab Coat), was released in 2022. That means by the time Super Saiyan 4 (DAIMA) Goku releases, it would have been four whole years since the last character.

We hope this means Arc System Works is planning a bigger return, rather than a one-off character, as there are plenty of new characters they can bring to the game. DIAMA introduced many of them, but there are still Super characters, such as Beast Gohan, Orange Piccolo, Gamma 1, Gamma 2, Cell Max, and so many others.

There’s definitely a full new fighter pass’s worth of characters to be added, so fingers crossed that things don’t end with SSJ4 (DAIMA) Goku.
