Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Tempest Hitbox Compensation Is Ridiculous, Treyarch Says Tuning Coming Soon

Have you been playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 multiplayer and fell victim to Prophet’s Tempest weapon and thought that it was just a little too good? If you have, you’re not alone, and it seems this Specialist weapon really is unfair given its super generous hitbox and we have proof!

Thanks to gamer _Skaikru_ on Reddit (Lofti on Twitter) we can now see just how unfair the Black Ops 4 Tempest hitbox registration is! Don’t believe me? Check out the video below.

As you can see, based on the test, if the Tempest is fired and it’s somewhat close to the body of the target, it WILL register as a hit. And given one hit is all it takes to incapacitate the target, it’s almost always a kill for the other team.

While this might is annoying in itself given how OP it is currently, Treyarch is on the case! Treyarch has confirmed that this is being looked into and has even mentioned it specifically in the latest patch rolled out earlier today! For today’s update, Treyarch lowered the Tempest ammo from 14 to 10, and also added this little nugget of info you might have overlooked, which states, “Additional tuning to Tempest accuracy incoming soon.”

There you have it. You can now show people how unfair the Tempest is in case they think you’re just whining. Did you notice any other inaccurate or overpowered Specialist ability in Black Ops 4? If so, share ’em in the comments below.

Anthem Demo Progress Will Not Carry Over to the Final Game

While some lucky players are experiencing Anthem right now in its closed alpha test, the game will have not one, but two demos set for early 2019. Now, if you’re wondering if there’s a chance that your progress will carry over to the final game come February 22, 2019, well, I have bad news for you.

Over on Twitter, Lead Producer Ben Irving confirmed that progress will NOT carry over both from the VIP demo, and the public demo launching next year.

This really shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, right? If EA allowed this, imagine how outraged a lot of people would be.

In other Anthem news, BioWare breaks down the latest Anthem trailer, which shows us the game’s villain named The Monitor.

Battlefield V Time to Kill Changes Coming Tomorrow, New Playlist Being Rolled Out for Initial TTK Damage Models

Much has been said by both DICE and the Battlefield V community when it comes to the game’s time-to-kill (TTK) and time-to-death. In this instance, there’s no actual wrong answer, as it’s a matter of preference whether you want the Battlefield 5 TTK the way it is, or changed.

Well, like it or not, there will be changes coming! In a new post by DICE Global Community Manager Dan Mitre, he confirmed that TTK changes are being rolled out tomorrow, which will come with proper change list of the changes’ implementation. Not only that, but for those who prefer the damage model that’s present now, DICE is also roll out a new playlist called “Conquest Core” which will keep the TTK and damage models the same to what they were at launch.

Battlefield V TTK Changes are Rolling Out Tomorrow
byu/danmitre inBattlefieldV

Hi Battlefield V Community,

First and foremost, it’s important to have a healthy dialog between our community and our development teams here at DICE. We’ve got that! We’re thankful for your persistence with being vocal through launch to help us identify and address game issues – please note we’re still hammering out a few improvements for some outstanding ones.

One of the more trending conversations since the game has released is around TTK (Time to Kill) and TTD (Time to Death). Both are closely intertwined with each other. Again, thanks to feedback from the majority of our community, we will be making some changes to our TTK/TTD damage models. The new changes directly impacts TTK across the game. This is to ensure a more even gameplay experience for all of our players. These changes will roll out globally across all servers starting on Wednesday, December 12th.

Please dive in and let us know how the changes feel. We will be providing a change list with their implementation tomorrow.

Alongside these changes, we are still working on elements related to TTD improvements including netcode, damage and health feedback, and much more.

We also recognize that a highly engaged portion of our community prefers the current damage model as it is. To account for this, we have set up a new server playlist called “Conquest Core”. This will be live tomorrow as well. Please use this new playlist when comparing the two models as your feedback on both is instrumental in helping us improve Battlefield V’s gameplay experience. Additionally, this new playlist will evolve over time and is the first step toward a traditional Battlefield “Hardcore” experience.

We thank you for your feedback as we continue to refine Battlefield V, and also thank you for your time as you test out the two damage models.

See you on the Battlefield! The Teams at EA and DICE

Of course, this new change is just the tip of the iceberg, as DICE has released what it calls a “minor” patch earlier today. You can read about the changes from that patch right here.

  • New Blackout Location and Updates – Hijacked is the newest destination in Blackout, inspired by the intense classic multiplayer map from Call of Duty®: Black Ops II. Fans can loot the luxury yacht to gear up for a firefight and battle opponents on their way to the final circle. Also, players can hop into a new armored vehicle called the ARAV once they’re back on dry land and eliminate enemies with its turret-mounted machine gun.
  • New Festive Holiday Event – After Operation Absolute Zero arrives, the holidays will come to Blackout with special event tiers of seasonal items to unlock, thematic map decorations, and even throwable snowballs in Blackout that allow players to mount a festive assault on their enemies.

There’s also the Black Ops Pass first DLC! Check out the official info straight from the press release.

  • New Multiplayer Map, Elevation – A medium-sized map set in a cliffside town in the mountains of Nepal, Elevation features winding streets that snake around vertical positions where players will battle it out through close-quarter interiors and tight alleyways.
  • New Multiplayer Map, Madagascar – A larger map set on a rural plateau in Madagascar, the town sits atop a hill where a medical-relief convoy that has been ambushed, and it is surrounded by flanking routes with diverse, natural environments and powerful cover for players trying to dominate the hill.
  • New Zombies Experience, Dead of the Night – This all-new undead experience is set in 1912 and drops players into a lavish estate owned by the famed relic-hunter Alistair Rhodes, where they’ll step into the role of a new set of characters. As the unlikely crew of heroes bands together, they’ll equip all-new weapons to fight the mysterious force that has taken over the party. Players will also take on a variety of Zombies, including new enemies such as vampires and werewolves, and much more, to survive the nightmarish evening. Dead of the Night stars an iconic cast of actors who lend their voice and likeness to the game: Madame Mirela (Helena Bonham Carter), Gideon Jones (Kiefer Sutherland), “The Brigadier” (Brian Blessed) and the Butler, Godfrey (Charles Dance).
  • New Blackout Character, Reaper – Owners of the Black Ops Pass get instant access to the cyborg mercenary Reaper, a fan-favorite Specialist character from Black Ops III, now coming to Blackout.

Same as with Operation Absolute Zero, the multiplayer pack is available on PS4 a week early before making their way onto the Xbox One, and PC. Speaking of the new maps, there’s a new playlist just for the new maps in a new game settings update rolled out by Treyarch just now. You can also read up on the patch notes released earlier today right here.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Game Settings Update Rolled Out, New Playlists Now Live

Update:

Operation Absolute Zero is now live on PS4! Zero can be unlocked by earning enough Contraband for the first tier!

Original Story:

Here we go, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 players! A new Black Ops 4 game settings update has been rolled out, which brings in a new game mode in Blackjack’s Gun Game, the Hijacked ship in Blackout and lots more!

Given this is a hotfix, there’s no actual patch to download (that was released way earlier, with the patch notes already revealed). Also introduced in this game settings update is a new playlist just for the new maps available to Black Ops Pass owners called “Map Pack Moshpit.” Rounding out the new playlists are Mercenary Deathmatch Moshpot, and Deathmatch Moshpit.

Hopefully, it’s not a long wait until Operation Absolute Zero, which brings in a new Specialist, and new weapons, are “switched” on, too.

The new map pack out now, also contains a new chapter in the Zombies game mode called “Dead of the Night,” and it has its own set of Trophies!

Battlefield V Company Coin Issue Acknowledged by DICE, Here’s What the Studio Is Doing

Have you discovered that you’re having issues with accruing Company Coin in Battlefield V? If so, don’t panic! It’s a known issue by developer DICE!

In a new post on the Battlefield V subreddit, Global Community Manager Dan Mitre laid out a message on what DICE plans to do with the Battlefield 5 Company Coin issue.

First, we will align internally to identify the following:

  • Why Max Rank 50 players are not receiving Company Coin at EoR
  • Why EoR is not displaying accrued Company Coin
  • When an expected fix is to be implemented
  • When retroactive awarding of missed Company Coin will be issued (if possible)

Once we have determined these details we will:

  • Provide an ETA on fix
  • Provide clarity on Company Coin accrual model at Max Rank 50
  • Provide insight on retroactive awarding of Company Coin

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

There you go! At least now, you can breathe easy knowing your hard work and grinding isn’t for naught, right?

Blackout

Audio

We’ve made the changes below with the goal of creating more predictability around when a player can hear another player’s footsteps, as well as a pass on unrelated game audio that could significantly impact footsteps. We intend to perform additional tuning on unrelated gameplay audio that egregiously impacts the player’s ability to hear other players moving in the world. Details include:

  • Occlusion
    • When players don’t have line of sight to another player, some of the sounds those players make are occluded using an audio filter. This filter subtracts some of the lower frequencies (AKA “bass”) to help to create a distinction between players who are in very close proximity to other players, but not necessarily in the same structure.
      • Changed occlusion levels to prevent situations that could make footsteps nearly inaudible.
      • Refactored occlusion code to properly occlude specific materials and buildings that were missing occlusion.
      • Terrain now occludes properly.
      • Fixed issues with garage doors that kept them from occluding properly when opening and closing them.
  • Distances
    • Rebalanced the distances at which players can hear first hear someone approaching.
    • Unified distances related to certain movement types – for example, sliding should now be heard about the same distance as other player movement sounds.
  • Gameplay Modifiers
    • Awareness and Dead Silence Perks have been changed accordingly with the new distance settings for footstep audio.
  • Directionality
    • Lowered the reverb on third-person footsteps, which helps with the player’s understanding of the overall location those footsteps are coming from. This is especially true when wearing headphones/playing in stereo and not in 5.1.
  • First and Third Person
    • Further lowered the first-person footstep volume that players hear themselves make.
    • Further lowered volume of teammates’ footsteps.
    • Decreased first-person weapon audio slightly to balance with third-person weapons heard by others.
    • Addressed an issue with first-person splash audio where jumping into water sounded louder than it should.
  • Environment
    • Lowered volume on the main ambient blend track (the overall sound made by the environment that players always hear, varying by map location and elevation), allowing subtler gameplay cues to be more audible more often, including footsteps.
    • Reduced volume and distance that garage doors can be heard from.
    • Modified the volume and distances that opening Stashes can be heard from.

Armor Redesign

Armor has been completely overhauled in Blackout. Our goals for these changes are to allow Armor to survive multiple engagements, and to reward players for taking out an enemy and destroying the enemy’s Armor in the process. While coming out of an engagement on the winning side feels good, it doesn’t feel good to have your Armor destroyed with each engagement you find yourself in. As such, players can find and use Armor Plates to repair damaged Armor, which are applied from your Inventory on all platforms, and from both the Inventory or the Quick Equip menu on consoles.

It takes approximately two seconds to use an Armor Plate to repair a segment of damaged Armor. One Armor Plate will repair a single Armor pip, regardless of Armor level. We will closely monitor the amount of available Armor Plates in the world and make adjustments quickly as needed. Details include:

  • Armor Plate Locations
    • In enemy Death Stashes after destroying the Armor of an opponent.
    • In Equipment Stashes.
    • More rarely, on the ground as a lootable item.
  • Durability
    • Armor durability has been increased, allowing Armor to last longer through an engagement.
    • Armor durability indicators have been updated to display individual pips of Armor.
  • Damage Mitigation
    • The percentage of damage that Armor mitigates has not been changed. As we monitor how these changes to Armor affect gameplay in Blackout, we will continue to evaluate damage mitigation values.

Map Changes

  • Overall
    • Added seasonal changes to foliage and softer winter lighting across the entire map.
  • Hydro Dam
    • Added elevators to allow players to get up and down in alternative ways.
    • Provided additional cover on the rooftops of both major buildings.
    • Opened additional rooms between the generator buildings.
  • Factory
    • Opened 3 previously sealed buildings to offer additional looting opportunities.
    • Added 2 new pipes to allow players to navigate between structures in alternative ways.
    • 2 previously closed train cars are now accessible.
    • 13 containers are now accessible.
  • Nuketown Island
    • Opened up 4 previously closed garages throughout Nuketown Island.
  • Map Boundaries
    • Expanded and improved upon boundaries on all sides of the map to be more consistent with the physical indicator of those boundaries seen inside the map, including:
      • Fence along the northern boundary of the map.
      • Power lines along the eastern side of the map.
      • Pipeline along the southern border of the map.
    • The mini-map now reflects the location of these boundaries.

Weapon Balance

  • SDM
    • Reduced damage.
    • Increased ADS time in and out.
    • Increased recoil.
  • Spitfire
    • Reduced damage.
    • Increased recoil.

General

  • Smoke Trails
    • Added Smoke Trails to wingsuits during initial infiltration to give players a better sense of how many people are dropping near their location.
  • Reloading
    • Added a new option in the Blackout Options menu to enable reloading by tapping the reload button, rather than releasing the reload button.
  • Zombies in Blackout
    • Zombies will now have a chance to drop ammo when killed.

Zombies

  • Tier Progression
    • Added Daily Tier Skip credit for completing 15 rounds in a game of Classic Zombies each day.
  • Stability
    • High Rounds
      • Fixes for multiple memory leaks and other issues that could lead to crashes at high rounds in all maps.
    • General – Fixed crashes that could occur:
      • During respawn after the Join The Party Elixir or Charm of Impatience Talisman was used.
      • When every player disconnected before the match started.
      • When the player disconnected while certain audio played.
      • When sharing a Mystery Box weapon.
      • In rare cases when using the Scepter of Ra.
      • In rare cases when enemies transformed into Catalysts or Blightfathers.
      • In rare cases when taking damage to Armor.
      • In rare cases when a player disconnected after using a trap.
    • Voyage of Despair – Fixed crashes that could occur:
      • During steps 4 or 7 of the Main Quest.
      • When the player disconnected while using the Kraken.
      • When shocking a zombie with Kill-O-Watt while it was transforming into a Catalyst.
      • When a player disconnected while reviving another player.
      • In rare cases when using the Sentry or Ragnarok DG-5.
    • IX – Fixed crashes that could occur:
      • In rare cases while Perk statues randomly cycled.
      • In rare cases while using the Hammer of Valhalla.
      • In rare cases during special rounds in IX.
      • In rare cases when using Serpent’s Kiss on large group of Zombies.
    • Blood of the Dead – Fixed crashes that could occur:
      • When killing the Warden during the Michigan Avenue ghost escort due to a memory leak that could occur.
      • In certain cases during step 3 of Main Quest.
      • In rare cases when throwing the Hell’s Retriever at the bird during step 2 of the Main Quest.

    • Classified – Fixed crashes that could occur:
      • When entering codes during the Classified Wonder Weapon quest.
      • In rare cases when using teleporters.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Best SMG – SAUG Tips,Tactics and Loadouts

With Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 now out more than a month into the wild, you can pretty much get a good grasp of which guns are getting the most use, and which ones are considered the best by the community.

Naturally, pegging something as “the best” is entirely subjective, but for the most part, these are the most used guns in Black Ops 4, and we’re here to help you use them too.

For this first entry in MP1st’s gun guide, we take a look at the SAUG submachine gun!

At a Glance:

  • Type: SMG
  • Level to unlock: 52
  • Magazine size: 36
  • Fire rate is 16/20 and second only to the Spitfire
  • Operator Mod: Dual Wield

Optics :

  • Reflex
  • Holographic
  • Threat Detector
  • ELO

Attachments:

  • Stock
  • Fast Mags
  • Quickdraw
  • Grip
  • Stock II
  • Fast Mags II
  • Suppressor

Recommended Loadouts:

Loadout #1 (Stealth rusher)

This build will let you weave in and out of confrontations, and relies on you getting the jump on enemies. Be prepared to rush the enemy but from behind!

Gun attachments:

  • Optics – ELO or none (ironsights for SAUG are definitely serviceable enough)
  • Attachments – Fast mags, Suppressor and (optional) Quickdraw

Perks:

  • Perk 1: Scavenger (You’ll need the bullets since you’ll be going through them super fast)
  • Perk 2: Gung-Ho
  • Perk 3: Dead Silence (So you won’t easily be detected by those using the Acoustic Sensor)

Loadout #2 (Going loud and fast)

Gun attachments:

  • Optics – ELO or none (ironsights for SAUG are definitely serviceable enough)
  • Attachments – Fast mags, Grip and Quickdraw

Perks:

  • Perk 1: Scavenger (You’ll need the bullets since you’ll be going through them super fast)
  • Perk 2: Gung-Ho and/or Lightweight
  • Perk 3: Dead Silence (So you won’t easily be detected by those using the Acoustic Sensor)

Tips, tactics and recommendations:

If you’re only planning to use two attachments, feel free to add another perk (I recommend Engineer so you know where Barricades, Spawn Beacons, etc. are).

Do not engage in long distance firefights. Run and flank! Don’t be afraid to hipfire as SMGs have tighter spreads compared to other guns.

Engage enemies close to short medium range. The SAUG has low recoil which should help you maintain accuracy while aiming down sight. Using the suppressor means you won’t show up on enemy radar when firing, and you can use that to your advantage by constantly flanking. Just remember to use Dead Silence if you’re planning on flanking or your enemies who are using Acoustic Sensor will “see” and hear you coming a mile away.

Using Dual Wield is dependent on how accurate you can be from firing from the hip. Just remember that you won’t be able to ADS when you have it equipped, and using an Operator Mod eats up three points in your Pick 10 class, which is generally not worth it.

The SAUG is not meant to be used in long-range encounters, so feel free to run away if you spot someone far away.

In one-on-one gunfights up close, the only gun that can beat the SAUG is the Spitfire, and even then, you can win a fair few if you get the jump on them. If you’re going up against Spitfire users, remember to engage them in longer ranges as that gun’s volatile recoil will be its undoing compared to the SAUG.

Are you a fan of the SAUG? What gun do you want to see us cover next? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 DLC 1 Now Unintentionally Accessible, Leaked Gameplay Surfaces

Well, here’s a weird predicament. It seems the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 DLC 1 from the Black Ops Pass is now available via the PlayStation Store as well! Multiple reports online have surfaced confirming this, and the first pack house  two new maps — Elevation & Madagascar.

If you own the Black Ops Pass, simply go to the PSN Store, search for “Black Ops 4,” go to add-ons, and then you’ll see the Multiplayer Pack 1 available!

Over on Twitter, user Red Hayden has uploaded our first gameplay look at the one of the new maps as well.

Officially, Treyarch has only announced Operation Absolute Zero as launching tomorrow, and it seems the first set of the Black Ops Pass must be some kind of surprise, though it’s not one anymore. Checking Twitter, Treyarch has acknowledged the leak, and mentions that the real deal arrives tomorrow along with a new trailer.

Speaking of trailers, the trailer for Operation Absolute Zero which shows the Specialist abilities of Zero can be seen here. You should also check out some of the new stuff being introduced by Treyarch tomorrow once Op Absolute Zero launches on PS4 (Xbox and PC gets it a week later).

On a related note, it seems we now know what the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Black Ops Pass content will include, and it’s quite different from previous COD Season Passes by not following the standard four maps per pack like in previous years! The PlayStation Store has updated, and the Black Ops Pass lists that it will include 12 multiplayer maps, four Zombie experiences, three Blackout characters. This is aside from the bonus COD Points, and other stuff.

Once the patch is out tomorrow and more details are out, we’ll be sure to let our Black Ops 4 readers know.

In Battlefield V, if your squad is doing well, you can call in a slew of requisitions that should aid your team gain the upper hand in a match. With enough Requisition Points earned, players can call in the dreaded V1 Rocket that will decimate anything it hits.

But what if you want to counter this V1 Rocket? Well, there is a way, but it’ll involve a lot of sacrifice. Gamer osamadeep (Twitter, YouTube) saw an enemy V1 Rocket about to rain down, and he flew his plane into it so it’ll blow him up and nothing else! Talk about sacrifice! Check it out below.

If there’s another way to counter the V1 rocket, it’s not known yet. For now, this is the best “counter” we know. If you know of any share them in the comments below.

In other Battlefield V news, a minor update is set to come out this week, and DICE has listed the known issues gamers have with the title so far.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Absolute Zero Trailer Shows the New Specialist Abilities, New Skins & More

Just a few days ago, Treyarch announced that Operation Absolute Zero will be coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 PS4 gamers tomorrow. While we’re getting a bunch of new cosmetic items in the new op, the highlight here is the new Specialist named “Zero.”

Thankfully, we don’t have to guess what she can do! In a new trailer, we get to see the new abilities Zero will employ against her enemies! One of the skills she has is called “Disruptor,” which is an EMP grenade that will cause nearby electronics to malfunction — though we don’t know for how long. Her main ability (her ultimate) is called the “Icepick,” and seems to be a remote controller explosive device. Watch both in action now along with the new character skins in the Black Ops 4 Absolute Zero trailer below!

Aside from Zero, we also get to see the new guns in action too! Make sure to watch the trailer again to catch any details you might have missed.

Want to know everything that’s coming in Operation Absolute Zero? Check out this detailed info post!

Operation Absolute Zero will go live tomorrow on PS4, and will be available on Xbox One, and PC a week later. Once the patch is out, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

What Is eSports Betting?

You might not be aware, but betting on eSports is becoming a big deal. Competitive video gaming has surged in popularity around the world – as we know full well – and subsequently, there are a growing number of betting markets available to people to bet on for eSports events and tournaments. The most common betting markets for eSports events covers first-person shooters, multiplayer online battle arena games and real-time strategy games.

The League of Legends World Championship saw audiences of more than five million people watch the action unfold live on live streaming platforms such as Twitch. This particular event saw a prize pool of more than $20 million, so it is clear to see that eSports is big business in 2018 and beyond. If you’re well-educated about the top talent in the eSports scene and you’re au fait with the rules of leading games such as League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2, you might wish to take a look at the following betting markets that are commonly offered to eSports bettors:

Moneyline

Moneyline is one of the most popular betting markets of any eSports event as it simply involves backing the team or player that you believe will win the contest.

Handicap

Handicap betting is popular in all forms of sports betting and it is working its way into eSports betting too. Handicaps can place negative starting scores on favourites to try and balance the contest for bettors. Teams with negative starting handicaps must win by more than the handicap set. Teams with positive starting handicaps must win, draw or lose by less than the handicap set.

Totals

Totals betting varies depending on the eSports game you bet on. In Dota 2 and League of Legends it is generally the total of ‘kills’, while in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, it was usually the total of ‘rounds’ in a game. Bettors must either bet ‘over’ or ‘under’ the set figure by a bookmaker.

Outright

Outright betting relates to wagers placed on the overall outcome of a particular eSports event.

eSports fanatics also have the flexibility to place these bets ‘in-play’ as well as pre-event, with live streaming of such events available to customers to help make informed bets.

Newzoo believes that the eSports industry could be worth more than $1 billion by the beginning of the next decade. That means there will be more people than ever becoming experts in the nuances of professional video gaming, and now people can turn that expertise into cold, hard cash.
