TGA 2017: “Save the Single-Player Gamer” Trailer Brings the Laughs and the Deals

While MP1st is a multiplayer-focused site, we do play and appreciate a lot of single-player games. With more and more games going the “Games as a Service route” (GaaS), Bethesda has made a trailer that wants to #SavePlayer1 and was rolled out during The Game Awards.

The video’s hosted by Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman), and Bethesda is even making a $100,000 donation to the ESA to fund the next generation of video game developers.

Gaming, like life, is often about social interaction – a time to join with others in a common cause, or to simply exorcise a few demons with some cathartic virtual carnage. But sometimes you just need a little time away. A place where you can go to escape the vicissitudes of everyday life. And that’s where a great single-player game comes in.

Once upon a time, these solitary experiences dominated the gaming landscape. But in recent years, with multiplayer on the rise, single-player games have become fewer in number. Meanwhile, the community has been clamoring for more single-player games, and the media has penned a panoply of pieces bemoaning the loss of single-player experiences. But never fear! Bethesda is here to help. In a new video that debuted at The Game Awards, starring none other than Lynda Carter, we share our vision for saving the single player.

So whether you pick up Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, The Evil Within 2, Prey, Dishonored 2, DOOM, Fallout 4: Game of the Year, Skyrim Special Edition – or all of the above – rest assured that Bethesda has you covered with a critically acclaimed, award-winning single-player game that’s just what you need.

There’s a bunch of discounts for Bethesda’s games happening right now. We here at MP1st love games of all kinds. So we support #SavePlayer1 and play multiplayer as well. There’s no reason we can’t have both, right?

New Tomb Raider Game Announced With a Hidden Message

Here’s a new one. Instead of a countdown for a trailer, or a reveal, Square Enix has announced a new Tomb Raider game on social media — Twitter, in fact. The entire message can be read below in the tweet.

It reads:

Square Enix is excited to share some big news with you next year. Honestly, we wish we could share it with you right now, but we’re taking a new approach this time.

A new Tomb Raider game is coming.

Driven by our goal of putting our fans first, we want you to know that it won’t be very long between the official reveal and when you can play,

Our journey together will begin with a major event in 2018. We simply can’t wait to take you on Lara Croft’s defining adventure.

Spotted by Nerdbite, the first letter of each sentence spells “Shadow.” It’s been heavily rumored that the next Tomb Raider game will be called “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” and this adds weight to that rumor, or it’s just a fantastic fadeout by Square Enix.

Will this Tomb Raider game have multiplayer? We don’t know for sure, but we’ll report more on it if it does.

Report: Call of Duty: WWII Latest Update Has Not Rolled Out for Middle East

While the latest Call of Duty: WWII game update has rolled out hours ago for everyone in the world, it seems people in the Middle East have been given the shaft. Over on Reddit, Middle Eastern players from Qatar and UAE (United Arab Emirates) have posted that they are still stuck with the old version of the game client.

[No Update] Middle East – HQ still empty. Update Missing. Still on 1.06 from WWII

In case the embed didn’t show up for you, it reads:

Last time they said HQ is now working for everyone and Middle East was not included. Now they roll out the update and Middle East still not included. What the F is going on.

I am in saudi arabia PS4. My HQ worked fine on game launch till they removed due to server issues. From that time it is still empty.

Now after waiting for more than an hour for update it is still missing and my PS4 showing I am on latest version but the game version is 1.06.

Anyone else facing the same issue? If yes then location please.

If you’re from the Middle East, let us know if the game has updated for you and for which platform. Let’s hope Sledgehammer sees this and fixes the problem ASAP.

Speaking of fixing, South East Asia players have started a petition asking Sledgehammer to roll out Call of Duty: WWII servers for the region.

PUBG Plane Tracker Helps Players Get an Early Advantage

Falling from the plane in PUBG may seem like an easy task, but there’s quite a bit of skill involved when picking the absolute best landing spot. You want somewhere that will have a lot of loot, but not a lot of players. The sweet spots are usually found far away from the flight path, requiring some careful gliding and parachute use.

To help players figure out which locations are within reach, James Lantz made the website planepath.net. It’s a simple tool: You draw a line across the map to quickly see which area the plane will be flying over, and the site will show which locations are viable landing zones.

The latest version of Plane Path also shows where cars are likely to spawn, an update on how much damage the circle will do, and the lowest health amount for first aid kit usage.

Check out the image below for a quick preview, or head over to planepath.net to check it out for yourself!

What do you think of Plane Path? Is it a tool that you’ll be using? Let us know.

In other PUBG news, Brendan Greene has confirmed that the Xbox One versions of the game will run at 30fps at launch, two mobile games have been announced with trailers, and desert map gameplay will debut at The Game Awards 2017.

Star Wars Battlefront II The Last Jedi Trailer Gives a Glimpse of Both Multiplayer & Single-Player Content

EA has released a new trailer for Star Wars Battlefront II’s The Last Jedi season! While the season itself has kicked off already, the trailer gives us a peek of things to come. Prepare for Finn, and Captain Phasma to join the fray, and there’s even new content for the single-player campaign, too!

You can check out the content roadmap for Star Wars Battlefront II’s DLC (which will all be free) right here.

In other Battlefront II news, we reported yesterday that EA might (important word here is “might”) not bring back microtransactions at all to the shooter according to EA exec Blake Jorgensen. There’s also a fix incoming for the AFK farming issue that’s plaguing the game right now.

Have you started The Last Jedi season? Which faction did you side with? The dirty Rebellion or the fantastically glorious First Order?
