Dying Light Battle Royale Mode Releasing 2018, Testing Registration Now Open

Yep, you read that headline right: Dying Light battle royale is happening! Featuring “rapid looting, allies and traitors, and evacuation,” the new “Bad Blood” mode will blend PvP and PvE styles of gameplay.

It isn’t launching until 2018, but you can sign up for the Global Playtest right now.

Here’s the full details of what Bad Blood will entail:

RAPID LOOTING

You and five other players are dropped into a hostile, zombie-infested area. Each of you has the same goal: to evacuate before the night falls. Use your parkour skills to swiftly traverse the city, scavenging for weapons that will give you an edge over your opponents. But remember, the clock is ticking.

ALLIES & TRAITORS

To pay for a seat on the extraction chopper, you need to harvest blood samples from the infected. Form dynamic alliances with other players to get tactical against formidable zombie bosses – and then turn on your allies to steal their samples. In a cruel set-up where everyone fights for the survival of the few, betrayal is not a question of “if”, but “when”.

EVACUATION

The more samples the players harvest collectively, the more seats are unlocked. But everyone pays for their seat individually, which means the alliances are short-lived and can easily end with a stab in the back. Make sure you have enough evacuation points once the chopper arrives, and don’t get killed as you race to the extraction zone.

What do you think of battle royale coming to Dying Light? Good or bad news? Let us know.

Storm zone graphics will no longer flicker when the storm begins to close in.

You can now report players that have unicode and Chinese characters in their names.

Fixed the timers on the Global Wins leaderboard.

Someone Just Recreated Nuketown in Real Life for Paintball Matches

If there’s one map that’s achieved legendary status in the Call of Duty franchise, it’s none other than Treyarch’s Nuketown. It’s cramped, it’s chaotic, and gamers love it for its “meat-grindy” feel.

It seems someone likes it a tad too much since a paintball field was recreated to be just like Nuketown! Over on Reddit, user Scoped210 says that his friend made the real life Nuketown, and it’s just crazy good. There’s even the bus and truck! Oh, there’s even a trailer for it, too!

If this real-life Nuketown is anything like the ones in the games, then prepare for lots of sudden deaths, backstabbing and grenade spam. I kid! OK, maybe not about the grenade spam thing.

If you see something like this or other cool stuff, feel free to send a tip to us so we can cover it at tips (at) MP1st (dot) com.

Paladins OB 64 Patch Delayed to Next Week

Expecting a new Paladins patch this morning on PC? If so, you’re in for some bad news. Hi-Rez Studios has recently announced that the Paladins OB 64 patch that was set to go live today has been pushed back to next week.

For those out of the loop and wondering what happened to the patch, it’s simple: the community has been very vocal about the Cards Unbound feature that was set to go live alongside OB 64 that would change the way Paladins would be played moving forward. It would ditch the current 12-point system for more of a grind-to-win system where players can allocate up to 25 points into their loadouts that will give those who have some really good RNG rolls. or a lot of playtime a clear advantage against those who don’t or barely play the game.

This, of course, isn’t the only issue the community has been vocal about when it comes to the OB 64 patch. The community has been displeased with Hi-Rez Studios due to them intending to introduce the ability to purchase chest that reward these cards with real money. Essentially making the game pay-to-win.

Aside from those issues, the Paladins playerbase weren’t too pleased either with how the legendary cards are able to be upgraded if you happen to receive a duplicate of the same card, making some of the legendary cards very strong, and even easily melt the tanks in the game. Looking at some of the videos of these new legendary cards in action, the reaction is pretty justified including for Lex’s and Tyra’s legendary cards.

While this whole ordeal with this patch and the new card system is causing strife between the community and Hi-Rez Studios, it seems that the Georgia-based studio is at least open to making changes to the system. This is evident with the OB 63 patch, where they reverted some skins being rentals even if purchased with Crystals (the game premium currency).

Currently, Hi-Rez Studios is set to reveal the patch notes this  Friday, but it’s unclear on whether they’ll announce changes to the Cards Unbound system or just simply reveal the OB 65 patch. Regardless of what they’ll announce on Friday we will make sure to keep you updated.

Latest Injustice 2 Trailer Introduces the Atom

The latest character to enter the ring in Injustice 2 is none other than the Atom! In a press release, Warner Bros, Interactive shows off some Injustice 2 Atom gameplay! And if you’re familiar with the superhero at all, you know he can change his size at will!

Armed with his quantum bio-belt and a prodigal knowledge of physics, players can utilize all of scientist Ryan Choi’s subatomic powers to deliver justice against Superman’s regime.

I don’t know about you, but Atom turning into a flea and being flat out impossible to hit seems to be a recipe for disaster. But then again, the folks at NetherRealm are quick to roll out patches, so even if he is, it won’t be for long.

Atom will be part of Injustice 2’s Fighter Pack 3, which will be out this December. Joining him will be the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which you can see in action here.

EA: 35% of EA Sports Players Spend Money on Ultimate Team

Video game microtransactions are kind of a hot topic right now — and with good reason. At the forefront of all this is none other than publisher EA, and it’s initial plans to monetize the progression system in Star Wars Battlefront II.

Well, it seems there’s a very good reason for EA to do this, and that reason is money — lots, and lots of money. Speaking at the 37th NASDAQ Investor Program, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen revealed that about 70-75% of the people who buy the publisher’s sports games join the Ultimate Team game mode; and in that group, half of those spend real-world money for the mode.

Today about 70-75% of all the people that buy the sports games join Ultimate Team. It’s fun. It’s a great way to play the game. Of those 75% of the people, about half of those people actually spend some money and the other half just play without spending. But in a free-to-play world, that’s a fantastic balance of spenders and non-spenders.

It’s not really surprising that EA Sports’ Ultimate Team modes generate a lot of revenue and pull in a lot of players. Just last month, we posted a report that mentions how current EA CEO Andrew Wilson is the one that greenlit the Ultimate Team mode in the FIFA franchise, and thus birthing microtransactions in the company’s titles.

New Destiny 2 Exotic Weapon Is OP as Hell, Bungie To “Address the Issue and Talk Solutions” in Blog

One of the new Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris exotics is way too overpowered. The Prometheus Lens trace rifle is a random exotic drop, which bestows lucky players with the power to absolutely melt the opposition in PvP.

Happily, Bungie has confirmed that they’re aware of the problem. Bungie community manager David “DeeJ” Dague stated that the weapon had shipped with a “bug,” and that Bungie will “address the issue and talk solutions” during Friday’s blog post.

Here’s hoping it gets fixed quickly, as it is super overpowered and will definitely be causing frustration for players in the Crucible.

Here are some clips that demonstrate just how OP the Prometheus Lens trace rifle is:

Have you been lucky enough to see this weapon drop? Or perhaps you’ve been on the receiving end of its power? Let us know.

In other Destiny 2 news, the game’s future updates were detailed in a “State of the Game” overview, a limited edition loot crate is now available to pre-order, and a Destiny 2 free trial is now available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Bug Fixes

  • Scavenger Assault Rifle – Base damage reduced from 33 to 28, and impact from 87 to 73
  • Buzzcut – Base damage reduced from 36 to 30, and impact from 95 to 80
  • Scavenger Semi-Auto Shotgun – Base damage reduced from 149 to 124, and impact from 528 to 440
  • Husk Buster – Base damage reduced from 162 to 135, and impact from 576 to 480
  • Epic Halloween heroes now have epic stats instead of legendary stats.
  • Traps no longer set off propane tanks. This allows players more control over when the propane tank explodes and will prevent the explosion from damaging the players own traps.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Element+Affliction weapon perks to display as a common “gray” rarity perk. The color now reflects the correct rarity of the perk.  This was purely a visual change and had no effect on the chance of the bonus being rolled.

XBOX

We’ve been exploring how to reduce the size of patches for Xbox. We found a solution, but that means this particular update is larger than usual. (It’s about ~10 GB.)

PLAYSTATION 4

We are aware of an issue that occurs to some players where downloads are extended in duration and users may believe that a “hang” has occurred.  Our investigation tells us that the download is NOT hanging, but the process is taking longer than it should to complete.  In the meantime, please continue to let the download and install process complete naturally.  We are partnering with SIE to address this issue as quickly as possible.

Once the patch is out, we’ll be sure to let players know. In other Fortnite news, the cheaters taken to court by Epic has now been settled! Read more about it here.

Call of Duty: WWII South East Asia Players Start Petition to Have Dedicated Servers in the Region

While Call of Duty has never had full-on dedicated servers, it has changed for the better by implementing hybrid servers, and having dedicated servers for some of the game’s more popular regions. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case for Call of Duty: WWII and South East Asia.

Over on Reddit a few posters have banded together to start a petition asking Sledgehammer Games to implement dedicated servers in South East Asia. It seems players SEA connect to Japan, which is less than ideal given the distance. This means people with “open” NAT type connections and 1GBps internet speed are getting shafted by only getting 1-2 bars per match, which every COD gamer knows, is a big handicap in gunfights.

Thread starter iSpectrals had this to say:

begging, yes we are begging for Southeast Asia servers in the game. For the love of God please improve the connection in Asia. I live in Singapore, running 1gbps internet with an Open nat type and i cannot get a 3 bar game. why? because the nearest server is in Japan or Australia and it is nowhere near my region. Japan is not the only country in Asia. What do you expect us to do? Move to their country? Our ISP can’t do anything to help us but you can atleast implement servers here just like the BETA and Black Ops 3 had one here. Please do something, not only a server in Singapore would benefit us but also benefit countries who are wired to connect with us such as Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, India, Phillipines, Cambodia, and some countries in middle east asia. please do something for us. when the dedicated servers were down a week after launch we were getting numerous 3 bar lobbies when playing on p2p. if you can’t give us our own servers atleast let us play on p2p. region lock the servers so that only 3 bar players can join the servers. its really unfair, so many times where i shoot an enemy and die first due to bad ping. as quoted by /u/Mcondrey “ping is king” so what do we do when we can’t get good ping?

i’m just really sick of hopping online just to play on 2 bar connection with 150-200ms against 20-50ms players. i thought it would be a good year of call of duty for us but i guess not. i just really hope someone from SHGames notices this post.

if you’re gonna reply to this post saying we don’t have a big enough playerbase pls don’t. population of southeast asia + india = 2 billion more or less and thats not even included the middle east population. CSGO has singapore servers, overwatch has singapore servers, LoL has singapore servers and even ROCKET LEAGUE has singapore servers. everytime i go into headquarters i see a handful amount of Southeast Asia players but i never get to play in a SEA lobby due to no server here.

please notice this post, i’m/we/players of southeast asia are begging so much.

The petition can be seen here, and to date, has over 400+ signatures and rising.

Note that the users are requesting that if Activision or Sledgehammer Games can’t roll out dedicated servers, then it might be better to have the region’s connection be p2p (peer to peer) since it’ll match up players within its same region only.

Given how COD: WWII managed to rake in half a billion dollars in its opening weekend, I think Activision can spring for a few dedicated servers for the region, no?

If you’re a player from South East Asia, have you gotten three bars in a match ever? Or has it been lag city this entire time?

League of Legends Update 7.24 Features Health Bar Overhaul, New Snowdown Skins & More

League of Legends patch 7.24 features an ad nerf to Yorick, a passive buff to Darius, a Q nerf to Ezreal, big changes to the health bar, Snowdown skins, and more.

You can watch the patch highlights below:

Preceding the patch notes is a note from the developer:

It’s the final (sort of) patch of the preseason and that means a lot of tweaks based on our first round of data. The game always changes a decent amount this time of year, so we’re looking to make sure that—heading into next season—most champions at least feel the same, and some might even have the potential to do more.

A number of champions love the new runes and have been smashing the competition as a result, while others find themselves without the keystone they’d want. We’re looking to give those characters some love in the meantime, and then we’ll go from there.

Some of the runes themselves are either on the strong or weak side, so there’s some balance tuning coming through on that front. We want to make sure that we don’t head into the winter break with huge outliers still hanging around, so we’ll be doing another minor patch before then.

Finally, we’re rolling out a major update to the healthbars in the game, hoping to increase clarity overall and visibility on some of the less noticeable moments in the game. More on that below!

Champions who’ve received a patch:

– Aurelion Sol

– Bard

–  Camille

– Darius

– Evelynn

– Ezreal

– Galio

– Ivern

– Jarvan IV

– Karthus

– Leona

– Malzahar

– Maokai

– Morgana

– Ornn

– Riven

– Shen

– Sona

– Taric

– Xin Zhao

– Yorik

– Zoe

– Zyra
