Payday 2 VR Update Tweaks Beta Controls, Weapons & More

A new Payday 2 VR update is now available to download and install through Steam. VR Beta 1.30 and 1.31 were released in quick succession, tweaking controls, weapons, and more.

Here are the improvements that beta testers can now experience:

VR Beta 1.31 Update Changelog

General

Fixed a crash that could occur if a VR-player was cuffed and tried to shout at a teammate or AI

Menu and UI

Removed ”Rotate player angle” in the gameplay menu on HTC Vive

Fixed an issue where VR-players could not interact with the menu in preplanning

Fixed a visual issue on skinned weapons while in the main menu

VR Beta 1.3

This week we were able to release the Beta alongside the regular update. We are bringing some updates to the Oculus movement system. We are adding functionality for the player to rotate. This will help when playing the game in 180 degrees instead of room scale. Oculus also get improved dash controls where you simply put your finger on the joystick to activate the targeting line and pushing it forward will activate the dash. We also worked on the ladders to improve the system and make it feel more intuitive in correlation to the dash system.

We have worked on the weapon grip functionality so that you can now choose to toggle it on and off and won’t need to hold the grip buttons to hold the weapon in two hands. While working on the weapons grips we also looked over some weapons making it easier for left handed players to grip these weapons.

General

Improved the ladder control system

Fixed a graphical issue with Flashbang distortions

Improved the visuals of the menu laser

Weapons

Added the ability to use the Saws

Adjusted grip points for left handed player

Added a grip toggle system for holding weapons in two hands

Oculus

Improved dash controls for Oculus Touch controllers

Added rotate player buttons for Oculus Touch controllers

Happy with the changes? How are you enjoying Payday 2 VR thus far? Let us know.

Call of Duty: WWII Update Now Live, Hotfix Addresses Ranked Play Issues

Sledgehammer Games is continuing its battle against the Call of Duty: WWII issues. It seems that with each new update that launches, new problems arise. The issue this time is with Ranked Play not recording statistics and counting wins as losses. Obviously, this is a huge problem for a competitive mode!

Fortunately, it looks like a fix has been found, with Sledgehammer Games tweeting that a hotfix is now rolling out to PS4 and Xbox One.

Here’s hoping it smooths out the Ranked Play experience, as WWII really doesn’t need any more problems keeping it from being great.

Will you be giving the Ranked Play mode a go, now that fixes have been implemented? Let us know.

In other Call of Duty: WWII news, adjustments to flinch have been rolled out globally, incorrect bans have been restored by the development team, and we gave our “after patch impressions” of the November 29 update.

Visceral Games’ Star Wars Title Was Too Linear Says EA

Electronic Arts’ chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen spoke at the annual Credit Suisse conference in Arizona recently discussing various topics such as how well EA is doing in the current quarter, and the controversy behind the recently released Star Wars Battlefront II.

One of those topics included the fate of Visceral Games, the studio behind the iconic Dead Space series that was working on a Star Wars game, codenamed Ragtag, before being shut down. When asked to elaborate on the details, Jorgensen stated:

We were trying to build a game that really pushed gameplay to the next level, and as we kept reviewing the game it continued to look like a style of gaming, a much more linear game that people don’t like as much today as they did five years ago or ten years ago.

Because of this, Jorgensen decided based purely on “economics” that the game would not make a return on investment due to that linear style, which resulted in the shuttering of Visceral.

However, this is not the only reason why Visceral collapsed. Engine difficulties with DICE’s frostbite, poor management, and clashing styles of how the game would play all laid the foundation for the studio that employed 80 people to crumble.

Code Vein New Screenshots Show Off a New Location, New Ivy Blood Veil, and a New Character

Bandai Namco has sent over a couple of new Code Vein screenshots that give us new info on the third-person action game. There’s a new location, a new character, and a new blood veil, too!

Check out the screenshots below along with the official blurbs straight from the press release.

Mia’s little brother Nicola Karnstein is wandering in Vein land with his sister and they will protect each other in the different areas. The Ridge of Frozen Souls is a harrowing mountain pass that features limited visibility, narrow ledges, deep snow, and an ice-covered cave.  Players will also have to contend against a massive armored enemy deep within the Ridge of Frozen Souls. This huge imposing figure is surprisingly fast and will combine its speed with its heavy shield to rush down the player.

This huge imposing figure is surprisingly fast and will combine its speed with its heavy shield to rush down the player.

To survive in the Vein, special attacks will be necessary! Blood Veils allow for powerful blood drain attacks that will make quick work of enemies and also regain Ichor, which is needed to perform additional skills. The new Ivy Blood Veil unleashes a swift attack, producing thorns that emerge from the ground, piercing enemies from afar. Other Blood Veils announced include Hounds, Ogre, and Stinger, each with their own attack power and range of use. Players can switch out Blood Veils for the appropriate circumstances.

Players in CODE VEIN will be able customize weapon, Blood Veil and a special blood type named Blood Code. Each Blood Code has a special skill depending on the owner. When players equip their character with the Blood Code feature, they will get the original owner’s special skill. For example, Ranger Blood Code will be useful in dungeons, Hunger Blood Code is for ranged battles and Berseker Blood Code is for short distance battles etc.

In development by Bandai Namco for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, Code Vein is set for release sometime in 2018.

Path of Exile Twitch Drops Now Live

Like getting free stuff for doing virtually nothing? If the answer to that is a resounding yes, then the latest feature to be implemented for Path of Exile will definitely be up your alley.

Grinding Gear Games has announced that Twitch drops are now available for Path of Exile. If you’re wondering exactly what this is, it’s simple; you can now be awarded a random cosmetic helmet for simply watching any streamer playing Path of Exile.

However, it should be noted in order to eligible for these drops all you have to do is follow these simple steps below:

  • Step 1 – Link your Path of Exile account to Twitch.
  • Step 2 – Watch any of your favourite Path of Exile streamers play Path of Exile.

Yes, it’s really that simple. But, to make things even sweeter. Grinding Gear Games have also revealed that every five minutes of watching a Path of Exile stream, you’ll have a chance of winning these helmets. If picked as a winner, you’ll have a chance to be awarded one of these helmets shown below:

Unfortunately, for those on the Xbox One platform looking forward to this new feature will be disappointed. as it seems that this feature is only available  PC gamers — at least for the time being.

Aside from news of this new feature that’s now live, GGG have also showcased one of the end-game bosses for the upcoming expansion. You can check out the footage of said boss in the video provided:

The data miners have continued to work hard, cracking open Star Wars Battlefront II and giving us a good look at what’s hidden within the game’s files.

Here’s footage of the not-yet-released Arcade maps:

And here’s a look at The Last Jedi menu screen:

Another day, another load of new datamined info! I wonder if this is everything… Perhaps we’ll have even more to talk about tomorrow!

What do you make of the unreleased Arcade maps? It’d be wonderful to take out bots on the Death Star II, Kashyyyk, Hoth, Endor and Jakku! Here’s hoping they get added soon.

Warframe Baro Ki’Teer Items for December 1, 2017 Revealed

If you play Digital Extremes’ highly popular free-to-play game Warframe on either the PC, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, then chances are you know of Baro Ki’Teer — the bi-monthly vendor that makes an appearance every other Friday to sell some exotic stuff for players.

For today, December 1, 2017, Barok Ki’Teer’s wares can be seen below courtesy of Reddit user Lord_Dust_Bunny!

Lord_Dust_Bunny even has a  list of “suggested buys” for mods and cosmetics. Bear in mind that these are subjective and should not be taken as fact on what to purchase and what not to. Think of ’em as guidelines more than anything.

Making another “Suggested Buys” list, though remember this is subjective. Items are listed in general order they should be bought, with the ‘best’ buy being at the top of each section.

Mods:

  • The Impact mods are all particularly niche, and all drop from the Eidolon now. Skip.
  • Special note to Collision Course: there is a Prime version of the base Impact mod for melee. Skip unless you want it for an Atlas stat stick as it has no other use.

Cosmetics:

  • The Eos Prime Set is a very nice armor set.
  • Ki’Teer Solstice Syandana is a festive syandana, but it is very blocky and does not fit most frames well.
  • Everything else is summed up as if you like what it’s for (Puppers, Baro Glyphs, Sentinel Cosmetics) get it and otherwise ignore.

Other:

  • Sands of Inaros is always a good buy if you do not own Inaros.
  • Machete Wraith is a Machete that isn’t the Gazal or a Zaw. Skip unless you want the Mastery.
  • Do not buy the Corrupted Bombard Specter

If you’re curious why people should NOT buy the Corrupted Bombard Specter, here’s why:

In no particular order:

  • The Specter is a one time use blueprint you have to pay to make in your foundry. It only makes 5 specters.
  • The Bombard specter, unlike every other specter in the game, is not an Eximus. This means it is significantly less tanky then other specters and provides no additional utility.
  • The Bombard specter comes with a shield drone. This shield drone only follows the Bombard, cannot give shields to the Bombard, and has no shields itself.
  • The Bombard specter can be stunlocked.
  • The Bombard specter does not CC enemies with it’s weapon

It’s basically a meme item. Just summoning a Lancer specter or Shield Charger specter will provide you with much more actual usage, with the benefit of not costing ducats.

That’s it for this week. Once Barok updates his wares, we’ll let readers know. If you’re a Warframe fan and want to see more coverage of the game here on MP1st, let us know in the comments below.

Ark Update Now Live on PC, Adding Heavy Turret & Doubled Tek Turret Damage

The latest patch for ARK: Survival Evolved is now rolling out on PC, which adds Heavy Turrets and more.

You can find the full list of patch notes below:

– Added “Heavy Turret”, which packs approximately 4 times the power of a regular Turret and has faster tracking, but uses 4 Ammo per shot.

On Official Servers, in preparation for ultimately limiting all Turrets to 100 within a 10,000 unit range, only 100 Heavy Turrets can be placed in a 10000 unit range, including ALL Auto Turrets & Plant Turrets within that range. If you wish to enable this Heavy Turret limit on your own unofficial Server, you can use these values in the ShooterGameMode section of your Game.ini:

bLimitTurretsInRange=true

LimitTurretsRange=10000

LimitTurretsNum=100

(Later on, those values will also hard-limit regular Auto Turrets and Plant Turrets)

– Doubled Tek Turret Damage

Kayd Hendricks, ARK’s gameplay designer provided us with more information in a previous post.

What do you think to the latest patch? Looking forward to trying those heavy turrets? Let us know below.

PUBG Xbox One X to Run at 30fps, Greene Clarifies

Well, this is a bit awkward… Despite PUBG creative director Brendan Greene confirming in an interview with GamesTM that the game would “definitely” run at 60fps on Xbox One X, we’ve now learned that it actually won’t be running at that smooth frame-rate.

Responding to the sudden buzz about PUBG Xbox One X performance, Greene tweeted the following in an attempt to clear things up:

Well, that’s disappointing! Greene sounded super confident when speaking to GamesTM, and I’m thinking this has more to do with enforced parity for competitiveness sake, than a lack of Xbox One X horsepower.

It should be noted that, as the game is featured in Xbox Game Preview, lots of big changes could occur. We may see a bump up in frame-rate sometime down the road, but for launch on December 12, all Xbox One players will be experiencing the same 30fps output.

Are you disappointed by this? Or is it fine? Let us know.

In other PUBG news, the Xbox One version’s install size has been revealed and the developer has described it as “pretty much the same experience as PC,” a mobile game is in development for Chinese audiences, and the latest Test Server update targets kill cams.

Two PUBG Mobile Games Announced, Here Are Both Reveal Trailers

One of the games is being developed by Tencent TIMI, while the other is being developed by Lightspeed & Quantum Studio.

Do remember that, for now at least, these titles will only be coming to the Chinese market. Of course, that won’t stop your curiosity, so I’ve embedded both reveal trailers below!
