Destiny 2 Raid Release Date, Nightfall Strikes & Trials of Osiris Details

“This week at Bungie, we’re about to launch!” begins the developer’s weekly update. Included in this week’s summary and list of announcements are new details about the Destiny 2 Raid release date, Nightfall Strikes and Trials of Osiris event.

If you’re hoping to take part in these endgame missions as soon as they become available, you’re going to have to get a serious grind on. Nightfall Strikes will be available at launch, with the Raid and Trials of Osiris launching a week later.

  • Nightfall: Ready when you are
  • Raid: 10 AM PT, September 13
  • Trials: 10 AM PT, September 15

That’s right, you get one week to prepare for what will be Destiny 2‘s toughest challenge. (That is, until a “hard mode” is added; not to mention the DLC bosses of the future!)

Destiny 2 is launching on September 6, and this will be a “rolling launch.”

Very Frequently Asked Question: “What is the exact time I can dive into Destiny 2?”

The answer is dependent on where you live. Destiny 2 will have a rolling midnight release across the globe. You will be able to play the game as soon as it is 12 AM, September 6, anywhere in your country or in some cases region. In the US, for example, that means the entire country is live when the clock strikes midnight Eastern.

For the full weekly update, click here to check it out.

Are you hyped for the big Destiny 2 launch?

New Ark: Survival Evolved Expansion “Aberration” Announced & Detailed

Ark: Survival Evolved officially launched on August 29, with the game finally leaving “early access” behind. Not even a week after its release, we’re already hearing about a new expansion for the game. It’s called “Aberration” and will be available during October 2017. This DLC will be included in the Ark Season Pass, but it will also be available to buy separately for $19.99.

As for what Aberration includes, here’s the official details:

Waking up on ‘Aberration’, a derelict, malfunctioning ARK with an elaborate underground biome system, survivors face exotic new challenges unlike anything before: extreme radioactive sunlight and environmental hazards, ziplines, wingsuits, climbing gear, cave dwellings, charge-batteries, and far more, along with a stable of extraordinary new creatures await within the mysterious depths. But beware the ‘Nameless’: unrelenting, Element-infused humanoids which have evolved into vicious light-hating monstrosities! On Aberration, survivors will uncover the ultimate secrets of the ARKs, and discover what the future holds in store for those strong and clever enough to survive!

Owners of ARK’s “Season Pass” will get exclusive in-game Aberration-themed cosmetic item skins, immediately!

– The Aberration Helmet, formed from the damaged ARK’s obsidian-like underground rock, creates an imposing presence for Survivors who wear it.

– The Aberration Sword, forged from the Element Crystals that run within the deepest chambers of the ARK, emits a subtle glow to strike fear into your enemies.

AN ARK GONE AWRY
Aberration places survivors on a damaged ARK: its internal atmosphere has leaked away, resulting in a harsh surface with intense radiation, and a plethora of lush biomes underground. With the maintenance systems of this ARK malfunctioning, the many hazards, creatures, and nature of the environment present a thrilling new world to explore and master.

TAME NEW CREATURES
The intense radiation of Aberration has led to incredible genetic mutations, resulting in new creatures with amazing abilities! Among others, clamber up walls & glide through the air on the back of a camouflaging chameleon-like ‘Rock Drake’, keep the dark at bay with a friendly ‘Lantern Pug’, grab and toss multiple creatures simultaneously with a massive ‘Cave Crustacean’, or — if you are talented enough to tame one — command the vile ‘Nameless Queen’ to impregnate your foes with a horrifying reproductive chest-burster!

CRAFT OVER 50 NEW ITEMS
New tools are on-hand to survive on the world of Aberration, while opening up many possibilities for new competitive and cooperative scenarios. Traverse the ARK using cave-climbing picks, gliding wingsuits, and ziplines. Learn advanced engrams to dominate the harsh environment, protect yourself with hazmat outfits, charge lanterns, explosive rounds, batteries, glowsticks, railguns and much more. Thrive by gathering new resources, using fishing baskets, gas collectors, fortify your home within the caverns using cliff structures, and much more!

CONQUER NEW CHALLENGES
Earthquakes, radiation exposure, gas leaks, and Element chambers are among the many hazards that survivors will learn to grapple with Aberration’s varied biomes, both aboveground and below the surface. But among the greatest challenges on this ruined ARK is the hierarchy of unrelenting Nameless, requiring constant vigilance & Charge Energy to defend against! And in the deepest depths of Aberration, their terrifying — yet somehow familiar — master awaits… will YOU be among the survivors powerful enough to face him?

We’ve included the expansion’s reveal trailer at the top of this post. So scroll up and have a watch, if you missed it!

Are you impressed with what’s included in this Ark: Survival Evolved expansion?

Call of Duty: WWII to Launch With Tweaked Flinch, Adjusted Hitmarkers & Additional Control Options

Posting on the official Call of Duty: WWII subreddit, Sledgehammer Games’ Michael Condrey has revealed some of the fixes they’re working on for the game’s launch. These include tweaks to flinch, hitmarkers, and the addition of nine new control options.

Here’s the good stuff pulled from his Reddit post:

TDM match limit is now at 100. Kills on Domination are also now 100 points. We also reduced Molotov’s to one per score streak, and raised the difficulty of the paratroopers. We’re monitoring game data and community feedback on these, to help inform our decision for the final game. In addition, we’ve adjusted the ADS out of sprint and those changes will roll into the MP Beta on Saturday.

We also heard you on several other issues. We’ve addressed Hitmarker feedback for November, and we’re considering flinch adjustments as well. We think you’ll also appreciate that, in response to your feedback, we plan to add the following controller layouts for ship:

  • Bumper Jumper
  • Bumper Jumper Tactical
  • Stick and Move
  • Charlie
  • One-Hand Gunslinger
  • Scout
  • N0M4D L3F7Y
  • Brawler
  • Beast

Condrey also mentions the team’s philosophy when it comes to map design:

“Our map design philosophy for CODWWII was built around the goal of truly encouraging different playstyles based on map and mode rotation. Pointe du Hoc is great for Infantry and Airborne, but the trenches are where Expeditionary Forces wreak havoc. We see a lot of people enjoying the raw power of the shotgun trench warfare tactics in this map. Likewise, Aachen is great for ARs and SMGs, but the longer sightlines and open lanes encourage the Mountain and Armored Division to deliver death from distance. It is important to us that throughout the maps coming at launch, players will experience iconic battle locations and face a variety of layouts to master.”

If you want to read the full Reddit post, click here

It’s good to see Sledgehammer Games sharing information with the community, and acknowledging the frustrations that some players have.

Have you given the beta a go? If so, let us know your thoughts on it!

Call of Duty: WWII Beta Level Cap Increased to 35, New Weapons, Mode, Flamethrower & Basic Training Items Added

An update has just been pushed out to the Call of Duty: WWII beta. It increases the level cap by five, bringing it to 35. Beta testers will also find that a new SMG, machine pistol, Flamethrower scorestreak, and additional Basic Training perks have been made available.

Here’s the full list of new content:

  • M1928 SMG
  • Two new basic training items: Instincts and Concussed
  • Flamethrower Scorestreak
  • Machine Pistol
  • Kill Confirmed mode added to Mosh Pit

Though it’s great to see so much content added in the final stage of the console beta, we are expecting one more patch, to bring the level cap to 40 by the end of the weekend.

Anyone wanting to hit Prestige will unfortunately be out of luck, as an Activision Assist article detailed: “A level cap will gradually increase to a final cap at Level 40, meaning there is no Prestige in the Private Beta.”

More content to have fun with and test. Woo!

Hi-Rez Studios Announces Paladins VIP Program, Upcoming Open Beta 58 Patch Detailed

Things in the realm of Paladins, the free to play shooter by Hi-Rez Studios, are about to get very interesting, following the upcoming OB 58 patch which is expected to hit sometime next week. How exactly is this going to spice things up? Well, the answer is a Paladins VIP program.

The Paladins VIP program allows everyone to earn “VIP points” by simply playing the game, voting on which e-sports team will win in the Paladins Premier League (PPL) matches, and completing daily quests. Once you’ve accumulated enough of these VIP points, you can trade them in for some exclusive skins such as the “Goddess” Lian skin or even the “Raeve” Maeve skin.

Below you’ll find all the information that you need to learn all about the Paladins VIP program:

VIP Program

With this patch we are introducing the brand new VIP system! Players will earn points to unlock VIP exclusive content by playing games, completing daily quests, and selecting winners for Paladins esports matches. Players wanting to access this content faster can purchase VIP Membership or the VIP pack. Over the course of future patches we’ll be adding more and more content to the VIP store.

In addition to the exclusive content granted to Paladins VIP program members, Hi-Rez Studios is allowing players to trade in their accumulated points for non-exclusive awards, such as skins, with the first one being the Steam Demon skin for Androxus. (Note that, if you do want this skin, you will need to act fast! Hi-Rez Studios will replace the non-exclusive reward with every patch.)

Now, you may be asking yourself how much points can I acquire for doing what I already do in Paladins such as completing games and quests. Don’t worry, as Hi-Rez Studios has outlined everything you need to know, including VIP membership packages which grant you points to immediately buy these rewards:

VIP Points

  • 50 points per win.
  • 25 points per loss.
  • 50 points for every PPL game you correctly guess.
  • 100 points for every weekly quest you complete.

VIP Memberships

  • VIP Pack (14.99 USD) –
    • Conquerer Zhin collection
    • 70 Day VIP Membership (5x 2-week memberships)
    • 25 Radiant Chests
    • 25 VIP Team Boosters
    • 100,000 VIP Points
  • 14 Day Vip Membership (4.99 USD/200 Crystals) –
    • 5 Radiant Chests
    • 20,000 VIP Points
    • 5 VIP Match Boosters
  • VIP Points (70 Crystals) –
    • 10,000 Vip points
    • Only can purchased for those who are VIP members

However, the best news for the new feature, especially for those who don’t really like to splurge on customization items, is that you can still earn points even if you’re not a VIP member.

Speaking of skins, Paladins is set to get even more with the release of OB 58. These will include Brazilian themed skins and weapons, as well Barik receiving a visual overhaul to his default skin. You can check them out below:

  • Barik – Hi-Tek
  • Cassie – Copacabana*
  • Drogoz – Samba Rocket Launcher skin*
  • Jenos – Eclipse
  • Lex – Sarrada*
  • Kinessa – Samba Sniper Rifle skin*
  • Skye – Samba Wristbow skin*
  • Tyra – Samba Auto Rifle skin*

* Indicates the item is available only through the Brazilian Independence Day chest

Outside of the skins and new feature heading to Paladins, you can also expect the following character balancing and QO changes to made available when this patch goes live:

General

  • The preparatory phase of each match will be in third person
  • In the Competitive Queue player will have an additional 15 seconds to pick a character.
  • Added a new flow for opening Radiant Chests in place of the Enchant Key button when selecting Open Chest.
  • Muting a player will now also mute their VGS.
  • Damage and Healing Indicator Improvements
    • Corner damage VFX will now better correspond to where the player is being hit from.
    • Added incoming damage indicators around the crosshair.
    • Added incoming healing feedback with 2 possible locations:
      • Defaults to the left of the crosshair, can be set to above the player health bar.
    • Incoming heal numbers will now change color to indicate that the healing was reduced by healing reduction.
    • Friendly health bars will appear yellow-green when that player is under the effect of healing reduction.

Items

  •  Bulldozer now costs 200 instead of 300.

Characters

Jenos:

  • Celestial Touch

Snag an Xbox Live 12 Month Gold Membership for Only $42

For Xbox gamers who have to renew their Xbox Live Gold membership or just want to stock up on cards for the future, a seller on eBay is selling 12-month memberships at a discounted price! Originally sold at $59.99, “rushhourwholesaler” is selling it at just $42.99, and he has a ton of good feedback, too.

Don’t forget, aside from being able to play online multiplayer, being an Xbox Live Gold member also means you’ll get to own the free games Microsoft rolls out every month, and there’s also a regular sale going on for digital games that being a member means bigger discounts.

Want more Xbox news from us? Check out our video feature where we countdown the reasons why Microsoft’s Xbox gamescom press conference didn’t pan out as well as people might have hoped.

Here’s Our First Look at Xbox One Mouse Support in Action

It’s no secret that a mouse and keyboard combo is the best way to play first-person shooters (or at least the most effective). It’s also no secret that console gamers on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are looking forward to one day, be able to do it legitimately.

It looks like Xbox One owners might be getting that Xbox One mouse support they crave soon-ish. Windows Central has reported that in the Xbox Insider program, the Minecraft Beta let’s you do just that — though it’s not fluid or perfect just yet. Watch the footage in action.

As you can see, the input lag is kind of severe, which would make using it on shooters kind of pointless. Of course, this in no way guarantees that we’ll see Xbox One supporting mouse controls anytime soon. Heck, even if it is implemented, Microsoft might not let PC and Xbox players compete given the disparity just by the input method alone, no? Additional stuff from Windows Central mention that there is an in-game toggle where mouse support can be enabled and disabled, which could be the answer to separate mouse and controller controller playlists.

Nonetheless, this is a nice look at how far (or near?) we are to this happening in the future.

Are you looking forward to using mouse and keyboard for console games or should that stuff be left on the PC side of things?

Rainbow Six Siege Operation Blood Orchid Release Date and Info Announced

Rainbow Six fans, rejoice! Ubisoft has finally announced the Rainbow Six Siege Blood Orchid release date and it’s due next week, on September 5!

While we already posted gameplay, and a few details regarding the expansion, NeoGAF’s Nirolak summed it up quite nicely in bulletpoint form.

  • 3 new operators (one attack, two defense)
  • A new theme park map set in Hong Kong.
  • New cosmetics.
  • Their new servers are deployed, which they say should dramatically improve performance, stability, and network conditions. They’re also redoing the physics system to help with this at a later date.
  • They redid how lighting works through holes in the wall/floor/ceiling so that you can clearly see stuff on the other side (images below).
  • They upgraded the skies to look better.
  • They upgraded the reflection model to look better.
  • They’re redoing the memory budget for all the maps to make them run better, starting with Kafe. In practice, this means they changed a bunch of textures (images below).
  • The Operators all got a pass to have a consistent memory budget. They tried to downgrade memory usage on Operators who were too high without decreasing quality, while upgrading the models on some of the older (images below).
  • They redid the facial animation rigging on all Operators to make sure they matched the face model of the Operator’s face better (images below).
  • Hibana’s gadget will be less broken.
  • There will be more improvements to the netcode, especially around hit registrations, released throughout season 3.
  • There’s now a map rotation for competitive featuring nine maps, and two of the maps are being removed from casual to be reworked and readded to the game. They stated they’re intending to remove some maps permanently from the game due to technical issues, but after community reaction, assured everyone they will be discussing this issue internally and potentially backing out of the idea.
  • You can no longer vote for which map you want to play on in casual, though they intend to bring that feature back at some point in a reworked version.
  • There’s a bunch of balance changes and mechanics changes. A few changes are that your crosshair no longer turning red when you’re over an enemy, and that debris is synchronized so it doesn’t block one person’s view and not the other’s. There’s too many to list here, so hit the link for those.
  • There’s a non-exhaustive list of over 1000 bug fixes in the patch notes.
  • Oh, and they completely switched the game’s data model, which should shrink the gam’s total size while improving load time, visual quality on PC, and future patch size, but also means you’re going to be downloading the entire game again. Consoles will load about 10% faster, while YMMV on PC. The download size is 15 GBs on consoles, 26 GBs for standard PC version, and 42 GBs for the high resolution textures PC version.

You can read up and check screenshots and other stuff about Blood Orchid on Ubisoft’s official site. Or better yet, go check out this Rainbow Six Siege Blood Orchid info dump made as a Twitter Moment.

Titanfall 2 Double XP Event Happening Now

To mark the release of Titanfall 2’s Postcards From the Frontier DLC, Respawn Entertainment has flipped the switch on some sweet Titanfall 2 double XP that should take effect today, and run through until September 5.

This was announced by the official Titanfall Twitter account, where it also posted a brief snippet of gameplay just to whet Pilot appetites.

Don’t forget, Postcards From the Frontier is FREE DLC. So if you want to show support for a studio for doing that, go snatch up some Titan skins and other customization stuff as a thank you. Fortunately, it seems Titanfall 2 is doing quite well for itself even if it got released at an odd time sandwiched by Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare last year.

Will you be taking part in some Titanfall 2 double XP action this weekend?

Destiny 2 PC vs Console – The Ultimate System Showdown for Bungie’s New Shooter

In this episode of Versus, I’m pitting Destiny 2 PC vs console. After playing the beta on both console and PC, I feel like I’ve got enough experience under my belt to make a comparison.

Click “play” on the video above and give it a watch. And be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Here’s a taste of what’s discussed:

“First up is the PC version, which comes packed with an assortment of graphics options that make the game look incredible.

These include support for: 4K with HDR enabled, 21:9 aspect ratio for widescreen monitors, an uncapped frame-rate, and adjustable field of view. Diving deep into the options menu will let you tweak specific visual effects to find a nice balance between good looks and performance.

Now we turn to the consoles, which boast some exclusive perks of their own.

The elephant in the room is the release date, with Destiny 2 on consoles launching on September 6th. PC players, on the other hand, will have to wait until October 24th. That is some serious early access for console players!”

Report: Destiny 2 Xur Location Revealed, Can Appear in All Four Regions

The mystery man Xur will return in Destiny 2, it seems. The leaked Destiny 2 GameSpot guide provides a list of the game’s vendors, and where they can be found.

Xur’s entry states “Location – All four Regions (Varies)” and that he is of the “Special” type.

You can find the other vendors below. (Note that there are potential story spoilers in the list of names, so here’s a spoiler warning just to be safe!)

And here’s a quick summary of who he is.

It looks like “Legendary Shards” will be the currency he accepts.

Presumably Xur will be returning each weekend, and players will have to track him down in multiple locations in each of the four regions. Here’s hoping the gear he offers is worth the trouble!

Be sure to also check out the leaked Destiny 2 mission list, and the full list of Exotic weapons and armor coming to the base game.

Report: Destiny 2 Mission List Leaked, Here’s How Many Levels There Are

Continuing our coverage of the Destiny 2 GameStop guide leak, we now have information about the game’s missions, Strikes, and Sectors.

Here’s a spoiler warning for anyone who doesn’t want to know the missions’ names, or how many missions there are.

Okay, you’ve been warned, so here goes!

17 main missions with a lot of plot and many cutscenes. It’s way better than D1 with its 7-8 main missions and 2-3 shitty cutscenes.

30-ish secondary missions + world quest. Seriously it’s way more than D1

There are 4 world quests, each split into 4 missions for a total of 16 missions (this is not including the main PvE missions btw)

you should know that hidden/secret missions are not listed. What I do know is there is something hidden and players must find 2 keys. It doesn’t say where or what it unlocks.

And now the names of those 17 main missions:

  • Homecoming
  • Adieu
  • Spark – Pt. 1
  • Spark – Pt. 2
  • Combustion
  • Hope
  • Riptide
  • Utopia
  • Looped
  • Six
  • Sacrilege
  • Fury
  • Payback
  • Unbroken
  • Larceny
  • 1AU
  • Chosen

The Strikes and Sectors featured in the base game have also been leaked.

Report: All Destiny 2 Exotic Weapons & Armor Detailed (No Story Spoilers)

Hold onto your helms, Guardians, for there has been an enormous amount of Destiny 2 info leaked online. It all stems from a copy of the GameStop Destiny 2 game guide.

I’ll be posting the story mission leaks in a separate article. This is to keep story spoilers separate from these weapon and armor details.

Without any further ado, here are all of the leaked Destiny 2 exotic weapons and armor included in the base game:

[ngg_images source=”galleries” container_ids=”9″ sortorder=”88,87,89,90,91,92,93,94,95,96,97,98,99″ display_type=”photocrati-nextgen_basic_imagebrowser” ajax_pagination=”1″ order_by=”sortorder” order_direction=”ASC” returns=”included” maximum_entity_count=”500″]

Here are more Exotic item details as revealed by the leaker:

  • There are 51 exotic items total, this excludes possibly hidden exotics. For example, ones from the raid and those like the Black Spindle etc.
  • 18 exotic weapons, including 16 new and 2 old ones (modified)
  • 11 exotic armors per class for a total of 33, so 7-8 new and 3-4 old ones per class
  • and of course no “3 of coins” (not sure what he means there?)
  • 6 strikes. One is exclusive to PS4 so 5+1, each of the strike contains exclusive strike loot + normal loot
  • Armor mods are obtained in “bright” engrams and through trading with Banshee-44
  • There’s over a hundred legendary weapons to loot, not including the armors, of course
  • In the guide it says 6 available (note: he’s still talking about strikes) on the 6th of September but more to come, so I imagine that they’re gonna add more with updates. If I’m not mistaken, Deej had already talked about ten-ish.

So at least 51 Exotic items in total, along with 6 possible extras which will be made available at launch.

Happy with this amount of Exotic loot?

Report: Destiny 2 DLC to Feature Osiris, Add Mercury Patrol Zone

It’s not even out yet but details regarding Destiny 2 DLC might have just been leaked already. In a report by Kotaku, it states that the first Destiny 2 DLC will focus on space wizard Osiris, and it will come with a new patrol zone set in Mercury, and even a new social place.

According to Kotaku’s source, which the site claims sent over “some high-level details” on the upcoming expansion, the title of this first DLC will be “The Curse of Osiris,” and is scheduled to roll out in December.  Additionally, Kotaku says it has corroborated with a second source familiar with the plans for Destiny 2, who adds that the new patrol zone missions will be set in the planet Mercury, and will a new social space on the Lighthouse.

Destiny vets will remember the Lighthouse as an area that was only accessible to players who got flawless records in the PvP gauntlet, Trials of Osiris.

Bear in mind that these are all rumors until Bungie admits or denies any of the stuff mentioned. Also, a lot of things can happen during development, so even if it were true, some things could change come December.

We’ve reached out to Activision and will update the story if they respond.
