Report: League of Legends Champion Teemo Is Getting His Own Game “Teemo’s Adventure”

Well, this is a bit unusual. Reputable source of all things gaming, Daniel Ahmad (@ZhugeEX on Twitter), has posted evidence of a game called “Teemo’s Adventure,” which has been approved for sale in China. League of Legends developer Riot Games is listed as being involved, as is Tencent.

Teemo is a LoL character that isn’t well-liked by the community, so this seems like an odd choice for a solo spin-off. With that said, he is cute and cuddly, so it might appeal to kids…?

For those unfamiliar with Teemo, here’s his official character description:

Teemo is a legend among his yordle brothers and sisters in Bandle City. As far as yordles are concerned, there is something just slightly off about him. While Teemo enjoys the companionship of other yordles, he also insists on frequent solo missions in the ongoing defense of Bandle City. Despite his genuinely warm personality, something switches off inside Teemo’s mind during combat so that the lives he must end while on patrol do not burden him. Even as a young recruit, the drill instructors and other trainees found it a little disconcerting that, while Teemo was normally charming and kind, he turned deadly serious and highly efficient the minute combat exercises began. Teemo’s superiors quickly steered him toward the Scouts of the Mothership, which is one of Bandle City’s most distinguished Special Forces unit alongside the Megling Commandos.

Do you want Teemo to have his own game? Let us know.

Destiny 2 Masterwork Weapon Changes Planned, Bungie Shares Upcoming Tweaks

The recently added Destiny 2 Masterwork weapon rarity tier has been received pretty well by the community. It gives players something extra to aim for, and is a way of making Legendary weapons a bit more special.

With that said, Masterwork weapons are by no means perfect, and the community has been very vocal with offering feedback. Developer Bungie has apparently been listening, and is keen to share a list of fixes and tweaks that they intend to implement.

There’s no specific date as to when these changes will take place, and there’s no guarantee that they’ll actually happen. This is just Bungie looking to communicate and show that they are listening.

Here’s the list of potential upcoming changes to Destiny 2 Masterwork weapons:

Player acquisition:

• We’re implementing a new mechanism that we can use to limit long dry spells in Masterwork drops due to bad RNG.

• We will also be looking at adding some guaranteed sources of Masterworks, but we are working on a broader plan to improve prestige activity rewards and it might wait until then.

• We’re watching overall drop rates and usage over the holiday and will adjust drop rates and material costs as needed.

Masterwork Inventory Management

• We’re planning a fix for Masterwork Cores not going to your postmaster if you’re full on Consumables.

• To help prevent accidental loss of Masterwork Cores, we’re extending the dismantle timer to give players a larger window to stop the process.

Stat Bonuses

• Right now, the stat bonuses are small tweaks intended for players who want to optimize very deeply. We’re watching feedback and are excited to adjust or add more stat bonuses in the future. Once we have more information, we’ll share our plans with you.

Additionally, the in-game UI currently doesn’t have a good way to show all of the possible stat rolls. Here is the current list of Stat Bonuses that can roll per weapon type:

Auto Rifle

+5 Range

+10 Magazine

+10 Reload

+10 Handling

Fusion Rifle

Masterwork Armor

• We have begun plans to add Masterworks to Armor as well.

• The Armor bonuses will be more modest than the Orb generation on Weapons (in part because you have five equipped at once), but at minimum we want to provide a much requested mechanism to change the Armor stat type.

Weapon and Armor Mods

• We don’t have a firm ETA yet, but feedback on Armor and Weapon Mods has been heard!

• At minimum, we are looking to ease inventory pressure (ex: collapsing per-slot or per-class Mods)

• We’re also seeking to make Mods a more meaningful part of your loadout decisions.

What do you think of the Destiny 2 Masterwork weapon system? Good? Bad? Let us know.

In other Destiny 2 news, the first issue of the game’s webcomic is now out and available for free, “The Dawning” event will soon begin with new events and rewards, and here’s what happened to the game’s most powerful weapon.

Analyst Firm: Women Spend More on Mobile Gaming Than Men

Mobile gaming is big these days, and along with it, are microtransactions and other payables that make a game more fun (at least in theory). Well, it seems analytics firm DeltaDNA has dug up some rather interesting stats!

According to their report, women spend a lot more on mobile gaming than men! This translates to women being more invested in mobile platforms than their male counterparts. Want data? Here you go! Women Android users that use a premium device (more than $300 device value) are higher than men by 34 percent, compared to 27 percent for men. For iOS, 21 percent of women use an iPhone compared to just 15 percent of men.

The net effect of this is seen when looking at their propensity to spend in-game; across all games tracked by deltaDNA, 4.5% of women spend in games, compared to only 3.3% of men. This results in a total value of $1.57 for each female player vs. $1.09 for every man, and so we can see, women are effectively worth 44% more than men

For gaming preferences, DeltaDNA has found out that women prefer puzzle and casino genres rather than action or strategy games (women account for 76 percent of puzzle genre’s mobile player base, while it’s at 51 percent for casino-style games).

This means that mobile games that are targeted to women have a higher chance of being successful and profitable rather than one aimed at men. If you factor in how much easier it is to make puzzle-styled games rather than the graphics-intensive action titles, well, it’s easy to see why we’re getting more puzzle games than high budget mobile action titles.

Is this correct in your household? For me, it’s true. My wife and daughters play on mobile the most, while I’m the one left playing games on traditional platforms (read: PC and consoles).

DUSK Multiplayer Beta Now Available, Here’s How to Join

In a press release, New Blood Interactive has announced that DUSK multiplayer beta is now out in the wild! Called “DuskWorld,” the closed beta for the retro shooter won’t require you to pre-order the game, but rather, just have you sign up to New Blood’s Discord channel (Discord.gg/NewBlood).

Check out the DuskWorld trailer below.

DUSK’s Steam page can be seen here, and we’ve also relayed some bits about the game readers might want to know.

DUSK reintroduces you to a world where butchery and bloodshed must be mastered if you’re to survive ’til dawn. Inspired by Quake, Blood, Heretic, Hexen, Half-Life, Redneck Rampage and all your ’90s favorites, and featuring a soundtrack by metal music mastermind Andrew Hulshult.

In THREE distinct campaign episodes hand-crafted from straight outta the ’90s, players battle through an onslaught of mystical backwater cultists, possessed militants and even darker forces and attempt to discover just what lurks beneath the earth. Featuring a vast arsenal of badass weaponry including saw blades, dual-wielded shotguns from 1887 and an incredibly necessary grenade launcher, DUSK is unapologetic retro action from start to finish.

In addition to the main campaign, DUSK features an Endless Survival Mode, putting you front and center of wave after wave of enemies. For those looking for an extra challenge, DUSK also offers the chance to go head to head online to battle your friends in arena multiplayer, where darkness hosts the worst of humanity in surprising new ways.

For those looking forward to some old-school Quake action, DUSK might be the game that scratches that itch.

If you’re one of the many people who loved running through Titanfall 2’s Gauntlet course, then you’re in for a treat! There’s a Titanfall 2 mod that lets you make custom Gauntlets to run in!

The mod is being made by a certain Reddit user named JamesWilko, who also mentioned that he’s hoping to release the mode and the “Icepick mod tool” next year after he pours in more hours into it.

Hi everyone, if anybody has any questions about the mod feel free to ask and I’ll respond when I can! I’m hoping to release it, and the Icepick mod tool, next year after I work on it a bit more after vacation.

I recorded some timelapses of the gauntlets used in the video being made which you find here if you’re interested: https://youtu.be/MdbF2iFmpjI https://youtu.be/7haPs5BFs-0

Check out the video of the stage-builder in action.

Once the mod is available, we’ll be sure to let our readers know. Let’s hope Respawn takes notice of this and implements the best made courses into Titanfall 2 via an update or something.

Speaking of update, the latest and final Titanfall 2 update for 2017 is due tomorrow, and is called “Operation Endeavor!” Check out the new stuff added as well as the tweaks in the patch notes.

Report: China Blocks Steam Community

Here’s an odd move: China has banned Valve’s Steam Community for some unspecified reason. This was revealed by Twitter “Valve Time,” which is a news hub of all things Valve (the company, not the thing).

According to GreatFire.org, Steam is “95 percent’ blocked in the last 90 days. While  people in China can still access the Steam Store and launch Steam, they won’t be able to check their Steam profile, friends, social content, achievements, invetory, game hubs for guides, the workshop and more. Essentially, if it’s anything that’s remotely resembling a social platform, it’s blocked.

This isn’t the first time China has blocked a worldwide platform. Case in point: Twitter has always been blocked in China, but they do have Weibo which is very much like Twitter, but just in Chinese and whatnot.

Given China’s population and economic clout, the country can certainly do as it pleases, much to the dismay of companies worldwide.

Has China banned Steam Community due to its social media platform? Most likely. Will it lift the block? I doubt it but if they do, we’ll let our readers know. You can read more about the block, and what’s happening in this Reddit thread.

Need for Speed Payback Speedcross Update Trailer Details All You Need to Know

December 19 is the date when the first big update hits Need for Speed Payback. Named “Speedcross,” the update boasts two new cars, a brand new car class, and sixteen Speedcross events. There’s a bunch of other new features and improvements being added, too.

The update will be available at no additional cost to Deluxe Edition owners; everyone else will be able to purchase it as a separate standalone.

Here’s everything players can experience once the Speedcross update lands:

Abandoned Cars

You may have noticed a few cars being driven around Fortune Valley by the Street Leagues that aren’t yet available to own yourself. That all changes now.

Starting December 19, the abandoned cars will start to appear, hidden within Fortune Valley. Find the car, escape the cops, keep the car. Once you’ve acquired the car, it will then be available to purchase from a dealership of your choice.

The first car to go find is the Mazda RX-7 Spirit R, with more cars to arrive in the comings weeks.

Speedcross

Ever the Showman, Mac impresses Rav, who in turn decides to let him use the car in the upcoming Speedcross Competition.

Take control of Mac as you go up against a number of drivers from all over the world, with cities such as Palmont, Bayview, Rockport, Fairhaven and Olympic City all represented, with the ultimate goal of beating the reigning champion, The Barracuda.

Speedlists – Drift Run

We’re adding a new game mode into Speedlists, Drift Runs. These are based on the Drift Trial events that you will have played within the single player of NFS Payback. Up to 8 players will be able to take part in the event, with a multiplier being given to those that are in front (distance wise).

In total there will be 10 different drift runs, available in both day and night settings.

These additions to Speedlists will be available to everyone from December 19th.

Steering Wheel Support

Since we revealed NFS Payback there’s been one question that’s been rumbling on amongst our community, will Need for Speed Payback support steering wheels? The short answer to this is that yes, steering wheel support is on the way.

We’ve partnered with Logitech to ensure the following wheels will be officially supported:

Logitech G29

Logitech G920

Obsidian Promises “No Microtransactions of Any Kind” in Upcoming Take-Two-Published Game

Little is known about Obsidian Entertainment’s upcoming RPG, but one thing is now certain: the game will not contain any microtransactions. Posting of its official forums, Obsidian made it very clear that the game will feature “no microtransactions, of any kind, in [its] game.”

Here’s the full message:

Greetings Obsidian Fans!

We’re extremely excited about our upcoming RPG, and we know you are too. We wish we could tell you all about it right now… but we’re going to hold off until the time is right. What we did want to talk about was a question a lot of you have been raising: “Will this upcoming game feature any lootboxes or other microtransactions?”

The answer is simply: “no.” No microtransactions, of any kind, in our game.

We also wanted to say a word about our partnership with Private Division, our publisher on this title. Far from “pushing” us to put anything — microtransactions or otherwise — into our game, Private Division has been incredibly supportive of our vision, our creative freedom, and the process by which we work to make RPGs. They have been fantastic partners, and we are extremely excited to work with them through release, to put what we know is going to be an amazing game into as many hands as possible.

As always, thank you so much for your support. We know we couldn’t do what we do without our fans, and we want you to know that we put you guys first in every decision we make.

Private Division, for those of you who are a little confused, is Take-Two’s new publishing arm. It was announced last week, and so it’s understandable if you’re unfamiliar.

Here’s the Private Division label announcement video, in case you missed it:

No microtransactions is good news, right?

Call of Duty: WWII Claims Christmas #1 in UK Charts, PUBG Xbox Version Enters at #4

It’s a very, merry Christmas for Call of Duty: WWII! The game has claimed yet another week at the top of the UK charts, keeping FIFA 18 and Star Wars Battlefront II at bay. Even the extremely hyped PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds couldn’t compete, entering into the charts at fourth place.

1 – Call of Duty: WWII

2 – FIFA 18

3 – Star Wars: Battlefront II

4 – PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds

5 – Assassin’s Creed Origins

6 – Super Mario Odyssey

7 – Grand Theft Auto V

8 – WWE 2K18

9 – Mario Kart 8: Deluxe

10 – Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy

Gfk Chart-Track bases its statistics on physical sales, so it’s likely that a whole lot of PUBG Xbox players bought the game digitally, when considering how it sold 1 million copies within the first 48 hours after launch.

Are you surprised to see Call of Duty: WWII doing so well in the UK charts? Or is the game simply just that good? Let us know in the comments below.

Rumor: CS:GO Battle Royale Is Coming, Files Point Towards “Survival” Mode

Even Valve seems to be getting sucked into the battle royale hype, with rumors surrounding a possible CS:GO Battle Royale popping up, and evidence of a new “Survival” mode appearing within the game’s files.

Trusted YouTube user Valve News Network has done a great job compiling information that supports the idea that CS:GO Battle Royalis indeed coming.

Watch the video below to see evidence of compound bows, unarmed combat, light and heavy armour, supply crates, parachutes, drones, breach charges, adrenaline shots, sonar, beacons, new grenades, night vision goggles, an island map, and references to “Survival.”

That’s a hell of a lot of files hinting towards a PUBG-esque experience. I mean, what else could it be? A tease by the developers, perhaps?

New PUBG 3D Replay & Killcam Features Will Help Players Improve and Identify Cheaters

Minkonet, a prominent Seoul-based gaming technology company, is lending a hand with making the PUBG replay and killcam systems a whole lot better. The new “3D replay” will debut with the 1.0 update, which is scheduled to launch on December 20.

Those of you who have experience the current killcam system used in Test Servers, will know that it isn’t very accurate. Here’s hoping Minkonet can right those wrongs!

Here’s what you can expect:

The new 3D Replay feature provides seamless playback video of the primary player’s gameplay as well as the innovative ability to closely follow another user’s gaming feats and arena roaming as an in-game observer, providing gameplay viewers, including esports audiences, a superior viewing experience. Minkonet’s 3D replay solution encompasses robust 360-degree high-definition data capture technology that smartly parses large amounts of data from complex and dynamic gaming environments free of playback slowdown or gamer lag.

Killcam functionality provides advanced insight and learning opportunities for players interested in closely re-examining gameplay missteps as well as helping to detect and gather evidence of in-game cheating. Minkonet’s 3D data technology provides an interactive all-around viewpoint that hasn’t been possible with the textual event logs and the video capture of the deceased player in other Killcams. The company’s technology can be leveraged by game developers across all platforms to help curb the increasing amount of cheating and hacking issues afflicting the gaming community worldwide.

Minkonet’s full suite of 3D replay solutions includes a Replay Highlight Cam, Esports Cam, Streamer Cam and Cinemax Cam, all designed to unleash new content capabilities previously unseen in gaming.

Sounds pretty damn good to me! I’ve died a few times to cheaters, so it’s good to see more tools becoming available to help police them. It’ll also be great to look back at the mistakes I made, and learn from them for future Chicken Dinner attempts!

What do you make of the upcoming replay and killcam features? Let us know.

In other PUBG news, a “Map Select” option is coming after launch, the game’s creator says games need “better protection” from copycats, and the Xbox One player count is already at 1 million after just 48 hours.
