Battlefield V New Reinforcements Available and Here’s What They Are

One of the new things introduced in Battlefield V by DICE is the introduction of “what it calls “Reinforcements;” these are point-based bonuses that can be called a squad leader provided they have accrued enough squad points to do so.

As part of yesterday’s patch, DICE has rolled out a few Battlefield 5 new Reinforcements! Curious what the are? Check out the image below to see the artillery strike and the smoke bomb accessible in the in-game Reinforcements wheel (via Reddit)!

In other Battlefield V news, new info has surfaced regarding the game’s battle royale mode called Firestorm! We know now that it’ll feature classes, three variant modes and more!

Want to see how devastating a V1 Rocket is when it hits? Here’s a video of it decimating the enemy team.

Have you tried the new Battlefield 5 Reinforcements yet? What do you make of ’em so far?

The Division 2 Endgame Info and Progression Details Revealed

While we already know what’s set to come to The Division 2 players in terms of free content for the player base’s first year, Ubisoft has also given us a rough outline of what to expect in terms of endgame content.

If that’s not enough, we just have the thing for those who want to make sure they’ll be playing the game well past hitting the current level cap of 30! During yesterday’s State of the Game livestream by Ubisoft Massive, the studio has spilled the beans when it comes to The Division 2 endgame info and progression! While you can watch the video below (it starts 13:15 in), you can also check out the condensed version below thanks to Reddit user masterofchapter!

ENDGAME SUMMARY

  • the game has 40 hours of main campaign only, lots of side quests, 3 darkzones, 2 pvp modes
  • Upon hitting level 30 and defeating a specific stronghold, the endgame opens up with a new enemy, and the map being invaded
  • You progress through 5 world tiers, each with more and more difficult enemies and better loot (like the first game)
  • This is where you unlock a specialization (you can progress each of them, you aren’t locked to just one)
  • The world map is a “living world,” with enemy factions jockeying for resources, interacting with you and each other for them
  • It seems that most, if not all, activities can be played on increasingly difficult settings (hard>challenging>heroic)
  • The endgame loop involves: *.Defeating the story missions that have been invaded by a new faction (enemy configurations and spawns change in the sequel to limit repetition) – these missions are available in hard, challenging and heroic difficulties, with loot drops scaling accordingly (unsure if you can playeverymission on challenging/heroic, unlike the first game) *.Defeating specific missions and strongholds to up your world tier (1-5) *.Defeating a final stronghold (coming shortly after launch) for the new enemy faction *.Defeating 52 named bosses (upon defeating all 52, they become available again to redo) *.Taking on control points occupied by enemies. If you complete the hostile activities around them first, you can level them up, increasing their difficulty and subsequent loot supply. Seems like a good, varied endgame loop for gear. *.Taking on daily missions, weekly assignments, daily and weekly projects for your settlements, daily bounties and weekly bounties (boutnies are generated based on a ruleset, so it’s not random, but it’s unlikely you’ll find the same exact enemy configuration, location, faction, boss, etc.) *.You find a snitch who spawns a gunrunner – a vendor that has named weapons/serious gear (spawns every day and a half) *.This stream rundown didn’t talk about the raids, didn’t talk about Dark Zone (where historically you can get a lot of high level loot quickly), and didn’t talk about PVP modes (a couple already announced) or potential DLC like Underground/Survival (survival was a sort of battle royale mode that came out before PUBG, with mechanics related to keeping warm/hydrated and funneling to the DZ to extract yourself and a antidote out of the DZ). It also didn’t talk about global events from the first game (system modifiers that changed how you played the game for a week – rewarding headshots, long distance fights, etc.). Basically, expect even more from the game.DETAILED ENDGAME STREAM BREAKDOWN AT LEVEL 30
  • Throughout the game, there’s a mechanic whereby defeating faction missions unlocks strongholds to take on. Strongholds are significant plot missions/faction areas that are tougher than the previous missions.
  • When you complete the main story missionsandhit level 30, a new stronghold unlocks. It’s a significant plot mission, a big fight, like all strongholds before, but…the toughest one yet. It’s the “you beat the game” moment. UPON BEATING “FINAL” STRONGHOLD Black Tusk & Other Enemy Factions
  • Upon beating it, the main map gets invaded by a new faction. This faction (Black Tusk) takes over previous missions that are tied to newly invaded strongholds. Your control points (previously controlled by you) are now controlled by the enemy factions that have been chased out by the Black Tusk. The Black Tusk also open up a host of new world activities. Basically, the map that was largely getting under control is now full of new activities and you don’t control it, outside of the White House.
  • The map is governed by a living world mechanic. Each faction has wants (ammo, food, water, components, etc.), and if they don’t have them, they will engage in activities to get them. If they do have them, they will engage in activities related to their motivations (hostage takings, propaganda, etc.).
  • These factions are interacting with each other too – so if one is repressed, they may be less aggressive than one that’s in control. World Tiers & Specializations
  • As you hit end game (level 30 + beat stronghold mission above), World Tier 1 unlocks – this unlocks your specialization choice (example: Sniper, Crossbow, Grenade Launcher, etc.).
  • It also is where gear score starts to be a thing that matters (you are a little below the enemies as level 30 and have to level up your gear – not just getting level 30 guns/armor, but optimized versions of these, similar to the first game).
  • At world tier 1, you get daily missions that unlock (replay a specific mission for good rewards). It’s worth noting that replaying missions doesn’t mean enemies spawn in the exact same configurations and locations. So there should be less repetition than the Division – where missions like Lexington became a joke in how you could massacre the enemies knowing their spawns.
  • At world tier 1, you get daily/weekly projects that unlock (things your settlements require). This is a huge library of quests that cycle through randomly (so everyone is working on different ones in their own game – think Hearthstone/Magic Arena dailies that cycle through).
  • At World tier 1, you have 6 missions that unlock 3 strongholds to take on. These require a gear score of 275 to take on at first.
  • Upon completing one, you’ll have 60 seconds to get your loot, and then be bumped up to world tier 2. Now the world map/missions/activities are harder and the missions/strongholds have a higher gear score requirement to take on. The enemies get tougher (better gear).
  • This pattern persists until World Tier 4.

World Tier 4

  • Upon unlocking world tier 4, you get bounties (see below)
  • Challenging difficulty is unlocked
  • Priority missions are unlocked
  • Control points are now upgraded/reinforced – as you complete a hostile activity around a control point, the control point goes on higher alert. This continues as you complete activities, making the control point move from hard > challenging > heroic. The supply room in the control point gets upgraded so that loot gets better and better. This seems like it will be a pretty fun endgame loop and a main way to tackle getting good loot in the endgame.

World Tier 5 – There’s a mission that will come shortly after launch that, upon completing it, will unlock world tier 5. – Similar to world tier 4 (all of those activities still available), but with tougher enemies, better gear, better drops. – Sounds like more coming too. They didn’t want to spoil it all. OTHER INFO REVEALED

Gunrunner – Cassie Mendoza is the gunrunner (keeps stock for a week, stock consists of at least one named weapon and serious equipment) – She shows up at World Tier 1 – She doesn’t spawn until you find the snitch, who spawns her – She can be spawned every day and a half (so that time zones are accounted for) – Her guns scale to the world tier you are in Snitch – The snitch has a deck of cards related to named bosses in the open world – Each suit represents a faction, the royals of each faction are harder/more outlandish – There are 52 named bosses in the open world, for reference, The Division had 15 named bosses – Once you’ve killed them, you can’t encounter them again until you’ve completed all 52 – They each have great loot on them – If you complete collections, you get commendations and drops Bounties – World Tier 4 brings in a new bounty system – priority target network. – This involves an interconnected set of 7 bounties inside of different zones of the map. You get hard ones that unlock another one (and so on). Bounties move from “hard” to “challenging” to “heroic.” – There are daily (up to 4) and weekly bounties. – The loot is always strong, but rarer for weekly bounties. – The bounties are generated using a set of rules, so infinitely varied. Not random, have a logic, but you shouldn’t ever see two exactly the same.

That’s a lot, no? There’s also the Year 1 Pass which players can buy. Here’s what’s in it.

The Division 2 will launch this March 15 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Anthem Upcoming Patch Changes Detailed, Will Include Quickplay Backfilling Fixes, Bugged Ultimate Bar & More

While BioWare has already mentioned that the controversial Anthem PS4 crash issue will be fixed in an upcoming patch scheduled for next week, that’s not the only thing that will be fixed.

In yesterday’s Anthem developer livestream, the studio also revealed the Anthem upcoming patch changes players can expect — or at least some of it. Thanks to Reddit user naamtar123, here’s the changes and fixes revealed by BioWare that will be in the Anthem upcoming patch!

  1. In all instances of the PS4’s hard crashing they’ve discovered the PS4 CAN be powered back on.
  2. The Level 1 Defender rifle is doing too much damage, it’s a bug, it’s being fixed (and is an easy fix.)
  3. In the upcoming patch you’ll be able to start Expedition as if you were in a group from anywhere in Fort Tarsis.
  4. They’re still monitoring inscriptions and drop rates.
  5. GM2 and GM3 don’t feel as rewarding as they’d like them to be right now, it’s being looked into.
  6. Crashing into the ground from things like running into walls or Overheating will no longer have as long of a recovery animation when landing for Colossus (unconfirmed if this is the case for all Javelins.)
  7. There are around 300 changes in the upcoming patch notes, sometimes 5 changes can equate to 1 patch note.
  8. The crash and stability team is currently focusing on console crashes, but they are looking into PC as well.
  9. Many improvements have been made to Quickplay backfilling (i.e. loading into dead missions) – they’ve fixed what they know about and hopefully that is all or at least most of them.
  10. Freeplay “server shutdown” missions have been changed to not happen until the server is actually going to shutdown.
  11. “Open Cortex and track X” will no longer appear in Freeplay.
  12. Common and Uncommon items will be removed at level 30 in the upcoming patch.
  13. The Combat Team will be releasing a guide on how inscriptions work, it will be posted to Reddit today. (3/6)
  14. A random/quickplay Strongholds will be reintroduced with the upcoming patch. In the future they’d like to do extra rewards for quickplay Strongholds.
  15. Mouse button 4 is no longer bound to the back button for PC players.
  16. Problems with respawning behind a blocked off wall should be gone or significantly reduced.
  17. Bugged ultimate bar/ultimate bar being full at load in is fixed.
  18. Colossus can now shield charge through destructible objects (such as barrels.)
  19. You can now prime Titans (in the upcoming patch.)
  20. Mark of Ruin is now functioning properly.
  21. Ranger grenadier component now actually reduces the cool-down of grenades.
  22. Base damage of most Masterwork weapons has been buffed to compensate for higher difficulty levels.

This next patch is scheduled to drop on March 12, and yes, it will include a fix for the damage bug that makes the level 1 Defender the best weapon in the game.

Battlefield V Battle Royale Info Leaked via Game Files: Will Have Classes, 3 Variant Modes & More

With DICE inadvertently rolling out a Battlefield V battle royale Assignment earlier this week, it seems the studio is finally ready to talk about the game’s battle royale mode, called “Firestorm,” soon.

Thankfully, we don’t have to wait long to know more info about it. By mining the game’s files via the latest game patch, a ton of Battlefield 5 battle royale info is now known! Note that what you’ll read below is NOT official, so anything can change at the last second, alright?

Here’s the breakdown from Reddit user temporyal.

Battlefield Firestorm

“Do whatever it takes to survive. Compete solo or in a team to be the last one standing in a vast and dangerous world. Scavenge for supplies, outrun the Firestorm, and fight your way to victory.”

(snippet: ID_SPARTA_CASABLANCA_ROYALE_DESCRIPTION)

General info and game mode start

  • three variants: solo, duo (2 player teams), squad (4 player teams) with a player maximum of 64 per match
  • typical Battlefield classes will be present / choosable (snippet: ui/shared/widgets/classinforenderwidget)
  • code shows signs of an LFG system and “backfilling” entries
  • will have a separate ranking system
  • will (probably) occur in Tides of War – at least the code for a connection is already there
  • takes place in Norway (snippet: “/sparta/casablanca/royale/dk_norway-bd00e4f9.png” – also the level name itself contains the word “norway”)
  • you parachute from a plane into the war zone (snippet: Paradrop_Exit)
  • your hud will show an altimeter during the free fall / flight (snippet: ui/ingame/hud/widgets/parachutealtimeter)

Gameplay

  • if you get shot by an enemy you enter a “downed” state where you can crawl (but probably not fight) (snippet: DownedState_Crawl_LEFT_3)
  • there are various hints to a 3rd person camera angle but they are always tacked to the parachute start or when you get downed / killed
  • you have an inventory where you can store loot you find (snippet: UI/Ingame/Hud/Minimap/Inventroy – btw the typo is directly taken from the code)
  • loot has four types of “rarity” (snippet: ui/rarityselection; UI/s/HUD/Loot/RarityOne, UI/s/HUD/Loot/RarityTwo, …)
  • you can find better backpacks (three tiers) to extend your inventory
  • the map features safes that can be opened (this will be tracked in your stats) (snippet: safesOpened: w(t.royale.safesOpened, 0))
  • there are dynamic objectives on the map which you can capture (e.g. “resupply points” as mentioned later)
  • dynamic objectives may also be connected to “lockups” / “vehicle breakouts” mentioned in the code (snippet: w(t.royale.vehicleBreakoutsOpened, 0))

Weapons

  • weapons will categorized in tiers (1-4 can be found, 0 may be some kind of start equipment)
  • the HUD can feature six types of ammo: LMG, Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, SMG and Sniper (snippet: ui/images/hud/ammo/ammo_lmg)

Weapon Specializations (probably not complete, just the snippets):

  • Meta/SpecTree/Primary__Bayonet
  • Meta/SpecTree/Primary__Bipod
  • Meta/SpecTree/Primary__DetachableMag
  • Meta/SpecTree/Primary__ExtendedMag
  • Meta/SpecTree/Primary__FastBullets
  • Meta/SpecTree/Primary__HeavyLoad
  • Meta/SpecTree/Primary__IncendiBullets
  • Meta/SpecTree/Primary__QuickADS
  • Meta/SpecTree/Primary__Slug

Healing and Armor

  • you can find / use bandages and medic bags (small and large) (snippet: s/Meta/Gadget/Medical_Supplies_smallmedpack)
  • healing probably takes some time (snippet: MedicBag_Apply_Sequence)
  • there are three named tiers of armor vests (snippet: UI/Textures/Icons/HudArmourVestTier1, …)
  • there is a kind of special “armor plate” without any tiers (sounds like very strong armor loot?) (snippet: UI/Textures/Icons/HudArmourPlate)

Vehicles

  • various HUD elements give away that vehicles use fuel as a resource and therefore can’t be used without limits (probably for balancing) (snippet: ingame/hud/widgets/fuel; gameplay/schematicchannels/sc_vehiclefuel)
  • you can get vehicles by opening “vehicle breakouts” (probably the stronger ones…tanks?)
  • the tiger and the valentine are (until now) the only tanks I could find with a direct connection to Firestorm
  • other vehicles: “Halftracknomag”, “Kubelwagen”, “Kettenkra”, “MH101ctor” (snippet: LaVEH_Halftracknomag)
  • one interesting air vehicle snippet: “/Core/Vehicles/Air/VEH_plantuka_AI” – could be an AI controlled Stuka (plane + stuka = plantuka?) as a reinforcement

There is a number of “blue prints” for other vehicles (could be found by opening safes? I don’t know…):

  • Helicopter (yep!)
  • StaffCar
  • SportsCar
  • Schimmwagon
  • PickUpTruck
  • Tractor (probably the famous “MH101ctor” mentioned above and seen in the mini teaser)

Reinforcements

  • you can unlock and call in reinforcements (snippet: /gameplay/reinforcements/reinforcement_unlocks)
  • the following are present:
  • Artillery Strike (snippet: Meta/Reinforcements/ArtilleryStrike)
  • Vehicle (snippet: Meta/Reinforcements/r_vehicle)
  • Danger Zone (any ideas?) (snippet: Meta/Reinforcements/r_dangerzone)
  • Supply Drop (snippet: Meta/Reinforcements/r_supplydrop)
  • Strafing Run (maybe done by the AI controlled Stuka mentioned above) (snippet: Meta/Reinforcements/r_strafingrun)
  • V1 Rocket (snippet: Meta/Reinforcements/r_v1rocket)

Apex Legends Weapon Tuning Update Nerfs Wingman, Peacekeeper, Upcoming Changes to Legends Outlined

Respawn Entertainment has rolled out a server-side Apex Legends update during the night! While there’s a few bug and technical issues fixed, the biggest notes to takeaway from this is that the Wingman pistol, and Peacekeeper shotgun have both been nerfed!

Unfortunately, the Mozambique, which might be seen as the game’s parody weapon at this point, has not seen a buff at all.

Check out the full patch notes:

WEAPON ADJUSTMENTS LIVE ON ALL PLATFORMS

  • Wingman
    • Rate of fire reduced from 3.1 -> 2.6 shots per second.
    • Skullpiercer Headshot damage multiplier reduced from 2.5 -> 2.25
    • Increased base hip fire spread and decreased the rate at which hip fire spread decays (shrinks back down).
  • Peacekeeper
    • Shotgun Bolt rechamber rate has been reduced for the Peacekeeper only.
      • Level 1 mitigation 10% -> 7.5%
      • Level 2 mitigation 20% -> 13%
      • Level 3 mitigation 25% -> 16%
  • Wingman and Peacekeeper availability has been reduced in all zone tiers.
  • Increased availability of energy weapons & ammo in all zone tiers.

Why no P2020 or Mozambique buffs?

  • We love y’all’s ‘Bique memes, so we’re hesitant to lose that 😛
  • In all seriousness, our goal is to have a power curve of weapons. “Power curve” just means that some weapons will be weaker and more common, while others will be stronger and rarer. Some weapons are intentionally less powerful until fully purp’d with hopups and attachments, while other weapons on the bottom of the power curve are your early game, better-than-melee, but-gotta-upgrade-out-of-ASAP weapons. We’ve seen some good feedback from players about how to make these pistols more exciting without losing out on the goal above that we’re listening to. We’ll be continuing to watch player data and feedback and trying things out internally but for now, they’ll remain the same.

ADDITIONAL PATCH NOTES

  • Fixed some script errors that we identified were occasionally causing disconnects during matches.
    • Caustic occasionally causing disconnects while throwing is Ultimate.
    • Pathfinder occasionally causing disconnects when activating a Survey Beacon.
    • Players occasionally causing disconnects when removing an attachment.
    • Gibraltar occasionally causing disconnects when pulling up his Gun Shield.
    • Players occasionally causing disconnects when entering Spectate Mode.

With the start of Season 1 fast approaching, Respawn is further testing balancing tweaks for Legends, and the good news is, the big characters like Gibraltar, etc., will be getting a hitbox reduction!

LEGEND ADJUSTMENTS WE’LL MAKE AT THE START OF SEASON 1

Major balance changes:

  • Hit box size reductions and optimizations for Caustic, Pathfinder and Gibraltar
    • We’re better sizing hitboxes to character gear & model
    • Since these adjustments have a MAJOR impact on the game, we want to make sure there aren’t any major bugs, so we didn’t want to rush them out
    • If these adjustments prove to be insufficient, we’ll consider additional adjustments during Season 1

Minor balance changes:

  • Caustic
    • Traps – Reduced cooldown to 25 seconds from 30 seconds
    • Traps – Increased radius and proximity radius by about 10%
    • Traps – Removed a 1 second delay on the smoke dealing damage to players
  • Pathfinder
    • Insider Knowledge – Increased the number of beacons in the world to 12 from 10
  • Lifeline
    • Care Package – Removed slight chance that level 4 armor and helmets will drop
  • Wraith
    • Into The Void – Cooldown increased from 20 -> 25 seconds
  • Bangalore
    • Double Time – Reduced move speed bonus to 30% from 40%

If you want to see how crazy Gibraltar, Caustic and Pathfinder’s hitboxes are, check out this side by side comparison for all the characters.

Make sure to read our review of Apex Legends to see why we think it’s the first must-play multiplayer game of the year.

Remember classic RPGs like Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter Nights and the others? If you’re a fan of those kinds of games, you’re in for a treat! Skybound Games and Beamdog have announced that old-school RPGs like the ones mentioned are coming to the PS4 in 2019!

The full list of Dungeon & Dragons RPGs that are headed to Sony’s console this year are:

  • Baldur’s Gate
  • Baldur’s Gate II
  • Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear
  • Icewind Dale
  • Planetscape: Torment
  • Neverwinter Nights

All the titles will be distributed digitally on Sony’s PlayStation Store. No word yet on prices, whether people can buy it as a bundle, or when it’ll be out.

As someone who loved playing co-op way back then, I can’t wait to try these out and hopefully, there’s going to be online multiplayer implemented as well.

Anthem Best Weapon Is a Level 1 Rifle & Outclasses Masterwork Weapon, BioWare Confirms It’s a Bug

Here’s an interesting turn of events: While BioWare is still busy sorting out the PS4 crashing issue with Anthem, it seems there’s already another problem that has surfaced and it needs immediate attention, too.

Over on the Anthem subreddit, user YeetLordSupreme has conducted a test wherein he has proven that an Anthem level 1 rifle (Defender) does more damage than a level 45 Masterwork Rainer’s Blaze Rifle! Using a regular Scar trooper as a test subject, he managed to prove that the damage numbers that show up don’t matter at all.

[PSA] The Level 1 Defender Rifle is the best weapon in the game(also damage numbers are pointless and don’t mean anything)
byu/YeetLordSupreme inAnthemTheGame

So I was just fucking around with various guns and components, trying to quantify their damage amounts, when I stumbled upon something rather strange. It seems that the default weapon you get when creating a new loadout, is better than any other weapon in the game!

Components used during this test are Airborne Advantage, Convergence Core, Defensive Bulwark and Firearm Calibration Core. All are Ranger components which increase weapon damage. Anyway as for the test itself:

-With my Level 1 common Defender rifle, one bullet does 286 damage against a normal scar trooper.

-With my Level 45 masterwork Ralner’s Blaze rifle, one bullet does 1184 damage against a normal scar trooper.

Given these numbers, you might (reasonably) assume that the MW weapon will kill enemies faster, since it does more damage.

This is NOT the case!

Going back to the scar troopers, the MW rifle takes 6 bullets to kill our scar friend. Given the damage numbers, our level 1 rifle should take around 5x more bullets to do the job. Guess how many it actually takes?

4

That’s right. 4 bullets!!! Not 4x as many. Literally 4 rounds. Our level 1 rifle is somehow more effective than our level 45 masterwork, despite what our damage pop-ups are telling us.

I have tested this with various weapons and enemies, and while the numbers vary, the results are always the same: the level 1 defender rifle is by far the most effective weapon in my inventory. It melts literally fucking everything!

So, from this we can draw two conclusions:

1 – There is some buggy fuckery going on with the default level 1 rifle

2 – Damage numbers are meaningless and do not reflect the actual damage done to a target

The second one is by far the most concerning; as it implies some rather disturbing things about how the game was balanced.

Anyway, I’d love it if someone else could run these tests too to confirm that I’m not crazy or something…let me know what your results are!

Yes, that’s the evidence right there in action for everyone to see!

BioWare has since jumped on the Reddit thread and confirmed that it is indeed a bug. Check out the comments from BioWare Technical Design Director Brenon Holmes, and the studio’s Community Manager.

Will this damage bug be included in next week’s PS4 crash fix patch? For gamer’s sake, I sure hope so.

Anthem PS4 Crash Issue Patch Coming Next Week, BioWare Says It Hasn’t Encountered Bricking Bug

It’s been a busy week for BioWare and its recently released game Anthem, though not in a good way. Just this week, word got around that Anthem has apparently bricked a PS4 console! Not only that, but multiple reports have surfaced that Anthem has caused PS4 units to freeze and crash too.

We finally have some good news! According to BioWare Head of Live Services Chad Robertson, an Anthem PS4 crash issue patch will be deployed next week, and the studio has identified the problem! Unfortunately, the studio hasn’t been able to replicate the bricking issue, so that’s not going to be part of the fix it seems.

UPDATE: We’ve identified several causes for the temp power-down crash some PS4 users experienced. Fixes for the top issues are in patch next week. If you encounter a game crash where your PS4 console won’t respond, you can manually power down and restart it – no risk of damage.

After thorough review, we have not encountered an instance where Anthem has “bricked” a PS4 console. If you are experiencing anything different, please reach out to so we can track the incident and investigate. Thanks for your patience.

Let’s hope this gets sorted out soon, as I don’t think anyone would want to risk their consoles getting borked for any game, no?

In other Anthem news, go check out the complete map of World Events, Chests and more right here! We also posted what this week’s items are in the Anthem in-game store.

Here’s the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered New Guns List

With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered hitting Sony’s free games program for PlayStation Plus, more seasoned (read: old) gamers might have noticed that quite a number of guns in the game presently weren’t in the original game when it was released back in 2007.

If you’re wondering what these guns are and what they can do, wonder no more! Reddit user Skaboraa posted the full Modern Warfare Remastered new guns list! These new weapons were introduced to the game via Supply Drops (Call of Duty’s version of loot boxes).

Assault Rifles: BOS14 – Deals increased damage in its first five shots, the increased damage is around AK47 tier damage and the lower damage is around M4A1 tier

Lynx CQ300 – Honey Badger without integrated Suppressor

XMLAR – FAL look-alike with AK47 like damage, slightly lower RoF but can take a red dot sight without the damage penalty

Sub Machine Guns: Fang 45 – MPX Lookalike. First five rounds are fired faster.

Mac10 – High RoF, low recoil you all know this gun

PKPSD9 – Prokolot (see pistols) in a conversion kit, 3 round burst.

Sniper Rifles: D25S – DMR, less reserve ammo than M21 but higher magazine cap

STAC Aggressor – Intervention from MW2

Shotguns: Kamchatka 12 – Full-auto shotgun

Rangers – Akimbo Rangers from MW2

Light Machine Guns:

Bered MK8 – Magazine-fed LMG, high RoF (the only mag fed LMG in the game)

PKM – PKP Pecheneg from MW3

Pistols: Prokolot – 3 round burst pistol

.44 Magnum – Double-action revolver

BR9 – Luger, high damage

Have you tried the game yet? Did these weapons break the game balance in any way shape or form? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Mortal Kombat 11 Story Trailer Brings Us a Time-Bending Narrative, Cassie Cage, Jacqui Briggs & Erron Black Confirmed

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has today releaed a new Mortal Kombat 11 story trailer, which brings us the ever-dependable time travel story arch.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios today released the new Mortal Kombat 11 Story Trailer, introducing an original, time-bending narrative that continues the franchise’s epic saga. In Mortal Kombat 11, Raiden’s defeat of the evil Elder God, Shinnok, has drawn the ire of Kronika and upset her desired balance between good and evil. To restore stability in the realms, Kronika has only one option – rewind time to its beginning and restart history.

Through the immersive story mode, different eras of the rich Mortal Kombat history collide as players take on the role of a variety of past and present characters who must join forces to defeat Shao Khan’s Outworld armies and solve the temporal crisis at stake.

Also revealed today are three new fighters!

·       Cassie Cage, the commander of an elite Special Forces unit and daughter of the iconic duo, Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage, employs her lethal fighting skills to win every battle, with a relentless drive to measure up to her parents’ legacy. Additional gameplay featuring Cassie Cage will be showcased today, March 6, at 3:00 p.m. CST, during this week’s Kombat Kast on the NetherRealm Twitch channel.

·       Jacqui Briggs, a competitive fighter trained in kickboxing and martial arts, follows in the footsteps of her father, Jax Briggs, as a member of the Special Forces. She believes her duty is to protect Earthrealm and her family, no matter the risk.

·       Erron Black is a thrill-seeking outlaw hooked on the adrenaline of chasing his own pursuits. Black is a skilled crack shot selling his services to the highest bidder while dressed in classic western Outworld attire.

In other Mortal Kombat 11 news, don’t forget to check out this apparent leak of the game’s entire roster.

Latest Battlefield V Patch Causes Issue With PS4 DualShock Touchpad

Earlier today, DICE released a new patch for Battlefield V that fixed a few things, and made things easier for players with a quality-of-life update. Unfortunately, it also seemed to have broken something in the process too.

Over on the official Battlefield V subreddit, user 10WaterBag posted that his PS4’s touchpad has stopped working after the recent Battlefield V update.

PS4 Touchpad Not Working With Battlefield V After Most Recent Update
by inBattlefieldV

The PlayStation Four’s touchpad will no longer register up, down, left, or right. The hard press is the only active one.

I have used this alternate controller mapping since Beta and would appreciate being able to use it further.

It will not register as a programmable button anymore within custom controller settings. This feature is why I chose PS4 over anything else. Having more programming options is nice.

This is important for Single Player as the lures are essential for completing many challenges. Please fix this bug, thank you kindly.

Hopefully, this is sorted right away. Another issue that was introduced with the latest patch was server queuing, though DICE has since rectified this before the day’s out.

In other Battlefield V news, DICE has seemingly rolled out an Assignment for the game’s battle royale mode called Firestorm. There’s one big snag though, the mode isn’t available just yet.

Have you noticed anything that got broken in the game after today’s patch? If so, let us know in the comments below.

BioWare Investigating “Rare” Anthem PS4 Crash Issue

Just yesterday, we reported that Anthem was making PS4 consoles crash, and even bricked a console for one user. While there’s no actual fix out yet, BioWare is aware of the Anthem PS4 crash issue, which it calls “rare.”

This was mentioned by Chad Robertson, Head of Live Services of BioWare.

We’re investigating reports of a rare crash w/ Anthem on PS4 that can cause a power-down of the console. May require a restart with the power button or unplugging the console first. Working closely w/ Sony and have engineers on it. Will update as we make progress on a fix.

Hopefully, this gets resolved ASAP since I doubt people would want to risk their expensive consoles getting borked or bricked by a game.

In other Anthem news, we posted the in-game store’s list of items for the week. We also posted the complete map of Anthem which includes markers for World Events, Chests and more.

Battlefield V Battle Royale Assignment Rolled Out Even If the Mode Isn’t Out Yet

Looking forward to Battlefield V’s battle royale mode called Firestorm? While DICE hasn’t announced when we’ll get it, it seems an Assignment for the mode is already present. One of the Assignments for today’s Daily Orders include one for the mode, which isn’t out yet.

Check out the screenshot of the game’s start screen to see some of the Daily Orders, which includes a Battlefield 5 battle royale mode Assignment!

As you can see, one of the Battlefield 5 battle royale Assignments is to “Play Firestorm” and score 500 points in the mode. Yep, that’s going to be hard given it’s not available yet. Does this mean we’ll be getting the mode soon? Given how DICE has planned its release in March, I suspect we will.

Multiple posts on the Battlefield V subreddit have surfaced poking fun at the unattainable Assignment, which is understandable.

What’s weird here is, publisher EA already has a battle royale game that’s a certified hit with Apex Legends. Will this affect Firestorm in some shape or form? I gather it will.

In other Battlefield V news, go check out the changes included in the patch released earlier today.

Once DICE announces the official release date for Firestorm, we’ll be sure to let our readers know ASAP.

PS Plus Free Games March 2019 Download Links Are Up for US and EU

This month’s PlayStation Plus games can now be downloaded for both EU and US! In case you didn’t know, this month’s PS Plus free games include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, which some might argue as the best online multiplayer first-person shooter of all time!

Here are the PS Plus free games March 2019 download links for your convenience along with file sizes, and more.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered – 39.2GB

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered

Activision’s colossal Call of Duty series is truly part of the fabric of modern gaming, and it was in 2007 that developer Infinity Ward took the console world by storm with its contemporary spin on the popular action series it helped create. 2016’s Modern Warfare Remastered brought the classic back in full HD for a new generation of gamers, while respectfully retaining its first-class gunplay and brilliant level design.

Download it with PS Plus this month to relive a true FPS classic (in glorious dynamic 4K on PS4 Pro when played on a PS4 Pro system and a 4K display).

The Witness – 3.75GB

The Witness

From the developer of the charming puzzle-platformer Braid back in 2008, creator Jonathan Blow promptly returned to the drawing board and spent the next eight years working on an ambitious follow-up.

The result was 2016’s The Witness — an enigmatic first-person puzzler set on a seemingly-deserted tropical island, dotted from one end to the other with a vast network of interconnected puzzles.

Boasting spellbinding narrative twists and an unbeatable sense of satisfaction in conquering each puzzle, The Witness is a benchmark in design and environmental storytelling. Download The Witness on PS Plus this month for a slow-burning test of the old grey matter.

Will you jump into Modern Warfare Remastered later today? Let us know how it goes in the comments.

Battlefield 5 Update 1.11 Lightning Strikes Patch #4 Now Live, Here’s the Complete Patch Notes

As expected, the big Battlefield 5 update 1.11 patch has now been deployed by DICE, and it includes a host of fixes, though don’t expect any new content.

According to DICE, this is a smaller quality-of-life update since the studio wanted to address certain issues first and foremost, which includes the flickering issue on squad deployment. Clocking in at just 461MB on the PS4, the Battlefield 5 Lightning Strikes update #4 patch notes are below.

Vehicles

• Fixed the inconsistency between the length of the visual effect of the Churchill Crocodile
tank’s flamethrower when viewing it in third person versus first person.

Weapons, Gadgets, and Specializations
• Fixed the M1907 SF Recoil Buffer Specialization which was previously not working.
• The ZK-383 and Selbstlader 1916 no longer have the wrong zoom level with some sights
when using the Fast ADS movement Specialization.
• Tweaked shotgun balance. We found that shotguns were underperforming compared to
close-range SMGs. The changes to damage drop-off and pellet damage listed below make
shotguns perform more consistently in close quarters and give them a slightly longer optimal
range.
o Increased damage drop-off start distance for buckshot and slug ammo by 1 m.
o 12g Automatic and M1897: Increased buckshot maximum pellet damage from 5 to
7.2.
o M30 Drilling: Increased buckshot maximum pellet damage from 5 to 6.3.

Maps and Modes
• Practice Range: Fixed a bug where players would get stuck when using the “Redeploy” or
“Restart Practice Range” function.
• Combined Arms: On Hot Pursuit, the correct number of soldiers needed to advance the
objective are now spawned.
• War Stories: Players should no longer run into a freeze on The Last Tiger during the section
Reach German Forward Base.
• Fixed the controller vibration function that wouldn’t properly work on some maps while
playing Grand Operations.

UI/HUD/Options/Assignments
• Fixed the flickering issue that could happen on the squad redeploy screen.
• All subtitles in the Combined Arms intro are now triggering correctly.
• Leveling from level 49 to level 50 now properly shows the correct level on the End of Round
screen.
• Further fixes for the End of Round Company Coin counter. This should hopefully show the
correct value for all players.

Stability
• Multiple crash fixes and stability improvements.

PC-Specific Improvements
• Fixed a crash that could happen when players changed the resolution multiple times in a row
while DLSS is enabled.
• DLSS has been disabled when using DX11 due to stability issues.

Xbox One-Specific Improvements
• Fixed an issue where shotguns dealt less damage than intended.

PlayStation® 4-Specific Improvements
• Fixed an issue where shotguns dealt less damage than intended.
• If the player happens to remove the network cable from the console during the map loading
screen, they will once again be able to connect to EA Online without having to restart the
game.

In other Battlefield V news, DICE has announced Operation Sunrise, a new way of interacting with the community.
