With the Anthem VIP demo fast approaching, some players might be wondering how they’ll actually access the demo client or when the code will be sent in to download it. For those who pre-order from a retailer (GameStop, BestBuy, etc.), you’ll need to contact the retailer to request a code.
Yes, that’s an inconvenience, no? Those who buy digital, however, will have an easier time, as they don’t even have to do anything. Just pre-order the game on PlayStation Store, Xbox Store or on Origin for PC, and you’ll automatically be registered for the VIP demo (a code isn’t needed).
If you’re on the fence on whether to get Anthem digitally or via a retailer, this might tip you to the digital side. Just remember that requesting a refund via Sony and Microsoft’s digital stores are a lot harder compared to a retailer.
Speaking of pre-orders and demos, GameStop will be getting an “Edge of Resolve” pre-order bonus, which you can read about here. For those looking to pick up the Legion of Dawn edition that costs $80, don’t forget that you won’t have access to the final game version unlike Battlefield V.
