New Battlefield V Gameplay Trailer Released, Teases Battle Royale Mode

Just as we reported yesterday, a new Battlefield V trailer has been released, and it includes gameplay — or at least snippets of it. Titled the “Devastation of Rotterdam,” the trailer is a huge step up from the reveal video we got a few months ago.

Check out the Battlefield V gameplay video below and prepare to be amazed, people! It’s DICE at their finest. Oh, and there’s even a tease of the battle royale mode at the end with the ring of fire, so don’t miss it!

In the “Battlefield V – Official Gamescom Trailer – Devastation of Rotterdam,” fans get a fresh look into the untold and unseen side of World War 2. The trailer features thrilling, never before seen gameplay footage of the new Rotterdam map, which immerses players in a battle fought throughout the streets of Holland, where the Germans attempted to seize the Dutch city.

Throughout the trailer, the game’s dynamic physicality and destruction is on full display. As the architecture crumbles and gives way, torn by the devastation of close quarters combat, truly no battle in Battlefield V will ever be the same.

Not only did we get a new Battlefield V trailer in time for gamescom, but the Rotterdam map will be playable on the show floor as well! Gamescom will be held this August 21-25, and will be open to the public! So expect gameplay footage to be in abundance in a few days’ time.

In other BFV news, we reported yesterday that according to analyst firm Cowen, the pre-order sales for EA’s shooter has been “weak.” Let’s hope this latest promotional trailer is the kickstart the game’s sales needs in order to get back on track.

Report: Battlefield V Pre-Orders Have Been “Weak”

It’s hard to argue that the biggest first-person shooter brands in all of gaming have been Call of Duty and EA’s Battlefield franchise in recent memory, but could Battlefield be losing some of its pull?

According to analyst firm Cowen, the pre-order sales of Battlefield V have been “weak,” and mentioned that this could be due to the game’s release date being sandwiched between Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Rockstar’s highly anticipated Red Dead Redemption 2. It even goes as far as to mention that Battlefield V could suffer the same fate as Titanfall 2 (which is another EA-published shooter) that didn’t do so well at launch since it was released in between Battlefield 1, and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

While the release date could be one of the reasons for the slow pre-order sales, it could also have to do with the lack of any tangible marketing and promotion the game has received from EA. Things could be changing though, as there’s a new trailer set to be unleashed tomorrow, which I hope is the start of the Battlefield V info onslaught.

Do you think Battlefield V is suffering from low pre-order numbers? What could be the cause of this and should EA be worried?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Beta Impressions -Shaking It Up

How things have changed. Before, fans clamored for Call of Duty to change things up, and with each studio’s iteration of the franchise, that’s what we got. It’s gotten so shaken up that now fans are yelling for studios to bring it back to what it once was.

We won’t be going over the basics of the beta (like how many maps it featured, Specialists, etc.) since you can read that here. What’s written below is an impressions piece on the overall gunplay, gameplay and core mechanics of the Black Ops 4 beta.

Treyarch is in an unenviable position wherein the studio needs to placate both the old school players who are asking for “boots on ground” gameplay, and the new school — the one that needs heros, abilities and more to spice up each encounter. While we’ll reserve judgement on the full game come October, has the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta alleviated fears or left a sour taste in our mouths? Read on to find out.

Specialists Are Here to Stay

Introduced in Black Ops 3, Specialists are back in Black Ops 4, though with a few welcome tweaks. For those not familiar with Specialists, think of them as heroes from Overwatch or something to that effect. Each character has a special move and a “super” move that can help in various ways. In Black Ops 4, Specialists are given a much bigger role, and their abilities can determine the outcome of each match.

Like it or not, Specialists are here in Black Ops 4. First the good news: Specialists offer a whole other gameplay mechanic, and each Specialist is useful in their own right. The bad? Each side can only pick one Specialist per match! Yes, that means people with the better connection will manage to be able to pick first, so there’s a good chance you won’t be able to pick the Specialist that you want to play as every single time.

Aside from that little niggle, Specialists in BO4 are a step above those in BO3 in every conceivable way. There are now two abilities per Specialists, and you can tell each one was made with care and balance in mind. There’s no go-to Specialist (at least so far in the beta), or anything game-breaking.

However, it bears mentioning that if you didn’t dig the Specialists in BO3, then chances are you won’t be converted in BO4. These characters will definitely affect each match, and it’s highly unlikely that you’ll curse their existence at one time or another.

Die Now, Please!

If there’s one thing I’m certain of in Black Ops 4, it’s that the gunplay is very satisfying. Regardless of what gun you use, the sound and feel of each hit feels heavy and with impact. Having said that, the time to kill (TTK) in BO4 is definitely a lot longer compared to past Call of Duty games, and it’s something which will bother long-time fans.

I admit, it bothered me at first as well, since this meant that it’s harder to get double or triple kills, but it makes engagements mean more when you take someone out. Add in the new health system (which we’ll touch on in a bit), and the fact that BO4 is just 5vs5 compared to the franchise’s staple 6vs6, and you have a Call of Duty title that’s not only shaking up in how it handles gameplay confrontations and the like, but it’s even changing things up in terms of core game mechanics.

Possibly the biggest change in Black Ops 4 compared to past Call of Duty titles is how health regeneration is handled. Before, regenerating health would kick in just by ducking out of harm’s way, but in BO4, you have to press L1 (or LB on Xbox One), and wait for the health to slowly fill up (which is now shown as a meter with numerical values). There’s no self regenerating health in BO4, and stabbing yourself with health will oftentimes mean you’re a sitting duck for a quick second or two, which is a long enough time to get killed in any CoD game.

Is this health change a good one? Depends on who you ask, I guess. On one hand, it provides a more campier playstyle given players can just poke constantly at long ranges and just inject themselves with health whenever they get shot; on the other, it promotes more skill when going head to head since it (health regen) now involves proper tactics as well. Should you regen health now? Or maybe try to get the kill since your enemy is most likely injecting themselves by being hit a few times. It’s big change to the franchise’s core mechanics, and time will tell if the fanbase will grow to love it or hate it.

Streaks and Stones May Break My Bones…

If you were disappointed by the scorestreaks in Call of Duty: WWII, then don’t fret! Black Ops 4 continues Treyarch’s streak of having meaningful ‘streaks in matches. While we weren’t able to see the entire list of scorestreaks, we did see enough to see that it’ll be at least on par with BO3. There’s the new Mantis bot that can fire missiles, old staples like the RCXD, and lots more. Those who missed the Attack Dogs in previous Treyarch-developed COD titles will be disappointed to hear that they aren’t returning. There’s no RAPS from BO3, but in BO4, they’re replaced by a duo of operatives that can shoot, hide and attack like a regular player.

While there’s a fair bit of balancing that needs to be made in terms of scorestreaks, it toes the fine line between being powerful enough that it feels rewarding getting ’em, and not too powerful that it can dictate the outcome of an entire match. Given this is a beta, I’ll give Treyarch the benefit of the doubt.

Fog of War?

Another big change in Black Ops 4 compared to past Call of Duty titles is the “fog of war” mechanic that lets you see players on your mini map in a 360 angle. Yes, that means sneaking up is super hard to do now, but given how much ruckus the community has made so far regarding it, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it heavily downgraded come launch.

In terms of map design, Treyarch seemingly has nailed it yet again. If you’re a fan of the studio’s three-lane approach to multiplayer level design, then you’ll find a lot to love in BO4. Sure, it might not be for everyone, but it’s hard to get annoyed when it just works, and you won’t feel like you got killed due to crappy level design that gives an advantage to one team and such.

Looking Ahead

After hours of leveling up and trying the different game modes, it’s safe to say I was converted to skeptical to now being excited to play the full multiplayer experience come October. Will there be enough depth? Will the Specialists, manual health regen and such get in the way of how much fun multiplayer matches of Call of Duty are? I honestly can’t say at this point without reaching Prestige and seeing if the thrill of resetting everything and grinding again is there or not.

While we wait for Treyarch to make adjustments and polish the multiplayer based on player feedback, the beta ultimately did what it was supposed to — provide feedback to the developers, and whet player appetites. Based on the Black Ops 4 subreddit, the beta managed to convert a lot of skeptics (including me) and turn them into fans, and if you’re Treyarch, that’s good enough for now especially after shaking the status quo this much.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta code provided by Activision for preview and giveaway purposes. Played on PS4 Pro. Black Ops 4 will be out this October 21 on the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Deep Silver Acquires Timesplitters

Remember the Timesplitters franchise? The beloved first-person shooter franchise has found a new home in Koch Media or otherwise known as the parent company of Deep Silver (Dead Island, Saints Row)!

In a press release, Koch Media announced that it has acquired the intellectual property rights to the Timesplitters brand, and the rights to create games based on it. In addition to that, Koch Media has also acquired the IP the rights to sci-fi action-adventure game, Second Sight, which was also created by Free Radical Design.

It is with great pleasure that Koch Media today announces the acquisition of the cherished video games series Timesplitters. The agreement sees Koch Media become the owners of the intellectual property and the rights to create videogames based on the brand which will be produced by the Koch Media’s publishing label Deep Silver.

Largely considered as one of the most influential console games of the early 2000s Timesplitters was originally created by Free Radical Design, who later became Crytek UK Ltd and finally Deep Silver Dambuster, also part of the Koch Media family. The three game series earned a large and passionate fan base thanks to its unique humour, art style and pop culture references while encouraging customisation and modification to give each person their own individual experience. “We are hugely excited to have acquired Timesplitters,” commented Klemens Kundratitz, CEO Koch Media GmbH. “The original games gave fans a massive content offer and provided a pure and genuinely fun arcade shooter experience. We have many fans of the Timesplitters series among our own staff who are passionate about creating a product that will thrill todays gaming audience.”

According to the press release, full details on the future of both Timesplitters and Second Sight will be revealed “in due course.”

What does this mean for the Timesplitters Rewind? Your guess is as good as mine at this point. But if you’re a Timesplitters fan, it’s hard to not get a little excited given it’s been ages since we last saw the franchise have a proper entry (Timesplitters: Future Perfect was released way back in 2005).

Battlefield V Gamescom Trailer Hitting Tomorrow

Find the lack of any Battlefield V news or info disturbing? Yeah, you’re not the only one. Thankfully, DICE and EA are set to unveil a new Battlefield V trailer tomorrow!

Called the “Devastation of Rotterdam,” the trailer will be the official Gamescom trailer, and will be shown at 9 a.m. ET (6 a.m. PT). A super brief teaser is shown as well where we can see a tank and a bunch of soldiers going into battle.

Given the information drought we’ve had since the initial trailer reveal, I assume we’ll see actual gameplay tomorrow. Let’s hope that’s the case.

Gamescom will run from August 21-25, and will feature a fair number of games on display. However, no press conference has been announced so far.

What do you expect to see tomorrow? Will an actual gameplay trailer make up for the lack of info we’ve had so far?

Rainbow Six Siege Grim Sky Operator Revealed, Hereford Base Reworked

While Ubisoft has announced the first few details of Rainbow Six Siege’s third season called Grim Sky, we now know one of the first new Operators joining the roster! Meet the latest defender named Crash! She’s the new Rainbow Six Siege Grim Sky Operator, and definitely won’t be the last.

Meet Clash, the first Defender with a shield.

Born and raised in England, she’s a tough officer who served with the Territorial Support Group, holding the front line during the 2011 London Riots. She earned her spot with the Specialist Firearms Command (SCO19), making herself known within London’s Metropolitan Police Services (MPS).

She’s an expert at devising crowd-control strategies and she even acquired special permission to attend Gold Command meetings. She later made Detective Constable. Her experience, service record and persistence in her line of work got her noticed by Rainbow Six.

Twitch and Mira combined their engineering backgrounds, leading an R&D project to create the CCE Shield (Crowd Control Electro Shield). Clash is the perfect Operator to handle this new gadget and weapon because she understands mob behavior and she pioneered snatch squad tactics, not to mention her experience as a riot officer. She knows exactly when and where to deploy this shield to deny entry and slow down her opponents. Not only that, Clash has the backbone to stand her ground and a cooperative mindset to set herself up for assists. She shows no mercy and she has zero-tolerance for nonsense.

Despite her new title as DC at the MPS, she knows she belongs on the front line. This new Defender joining Rainbow Six, she’s none other than Morowa “Clash” Evans.

Crash will be revealed in full this August 17-19 during the first ever Six Major in Paris.

In addition to that, Herford Base is also getting reworked in Grim Sky! Check out the new trailer showcasing the reworked level! Ubisoft also says this about it:

Check out the Hereford Base rework. The map will keep the soul of the original but with a new layout and many twists, the map will feel fresh and new.

Once we know more details regarding Operation Grim Sky, we’ll let our readers know.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout Beta Date Announced for PS4

Earlier today, we posted an alleged leak of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout beta date. Well, as it turns out, the leak wasn’t far off — at least for PlayStation 4 gamers.

The official Call of Duty Twitter account just tweeted the video below, and in it, not only did it announce the Black Ops 4 Blackout beta date (September 10), but confirmed it’s once again a private beta, and that date is only for PS4 gamers, with Xbox One and PC betas “to follow.”

Unfortunately, that’s it. No gameplay was shown, or any other details shared. We do know you can go at it (Blackout) solo, with a partner or as a group of four based on the text and skulls that the video showcased.

Xbox One and PC players most likely will be getting the Black Ops 4 Blackout beta a week after, which is the norm given Sony’s timed exclusivity deal with Activision.

If you took part in the multiplayer beta (regardless of platform), don’t forget to NOT delete the beta client since it’ll be used for Blackout.

Rumor: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout Beta Release Date Allegedly Leaked by Xbox Store

While we already know that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will have a beta for its battle royale mode called Blackout in September, the specific details haven’t been announced just yet. However, a recent image making the rounds allegedly lists the Black Ops 4 Blackout beta release date ahead of its official announcement!

Over on Reddit, user vorkot3 has posted a screenshot of what seems to be Xbox store stating the Black Ops 4 Blackout release date as 9/8/2018! Check out the image below.

Bear in mind that this could very well be a fake — especially if you consider that September 8, 2018 is a Saturday. Also of note, if recent trends are anything to go on, the PlayStation 4 will most likely have a week’s head start compared to the PC and Xbox One platforms due to Sony and Activision’s partnership.

We’ve reached out to Activision for a statement on the matter and will update the post if and when we get a response.

In related news, Treyarch announced yesterday that the Black Ops 4 multiplayer beta client will also be used for the Blackout beta, though an update will be rolled out for it.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be out this October 12 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Monster Hunter World PC Crash Fix for Alt-Tab and More Is Here and It’s Unofficial

While console players have been enjoying slaying monsters in Monster Hunter World since January, PC players are only experiencing the joys of monster killing this past week. Unfortunately, the PC version of Monster Hunter World has been mired in technical issues that have made the game unplayable for some.

Fortunately, fans are here to save the day! Steam modder Kaldaien has released a mod pack that fixes a few nagging issues, and thankfully, the Monster Hunter World PC crash fix is included! Called the “Special K” mod pack, it fixes the game’s issues when alt-tabbing out of the game, and even improves the CPU usage, which is godsend for those who don’t have a lot of RAM.

You can check out the full mod features right here, and we’ve outlined some of the current features and a short intro from the modder.

[Special K] HDR10 (Actual HDR Display Output) Fix

Introduction

I’m working on various improvements for this game, and wanted to release something for the community. The anti-mod BS in this game is the strongest I’ve ever seen (puts FFXV’s stupid anti-debug to shame).

I do not know if this is a part of Denuvo that has never been used before or if it’s actually a trumped up ad-hoc solution from people who have no business imposing restrictions on the consumer. Anti-debug / anti-mod is always bad, but it’s exponentially worse when done by amateurs who do not have the necessary experience to ensure their stupid charade doesn’t do more harm to the customer than benefit (is there any?) to the publisher.

</end anti-mod rant>

    • Current Features:
      • HUDless screenshots
      • Texture/button mods
      • Pre-HUD ReShade
      • Fixes for fullscreen exclusive problems the engine has
    • Possible Future Features
      • Aspect Ratio Correction

In other Monster Hunter World news, the game has now cemented itself as the biggest Japanese Steam game of all time! Don’t forget to check out our multitude of game guides for the game which include some end-game builds!

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Enemy Loadout Will Be Visible in Killcam at Launch

If you were playing the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta last week or this past weekend, you might have noticed that you couldn’t see the loadout of the enemy that killed you in the killcam, which is a bummer, right? Fortunately, this Call of Duty staple will be in the final version of the game!

Over on Twitter (via Reddit), Treyarch Game Designer Matt Scronce has confirmed that the Black Ops 4 enemy loadout info screen will be present in killcams — at least it’s planned to be come launch!

While this might seem like a minor thing to most, it’s a good way to get a feel of the current meta of the game after a week or so. This is a good and easy way to see what everyone’s using, or even what’s overpowered. It’s been this way in past Call of Duty titles for a long time, and I’m glad to see Treyarch isn’t changing it up just for the sake of being different.

In other Black Ops 4 news, make sure to NOT delete the multiplayer beta client if you plan on playing Black Ops 4’s battle royale mode, Blackout. Treyarch confirmed that they’ll be using the same client though will be rolling out an update.

What other Call of Duty staple do you want to see make it in Black Ops 4? Let us know in the comments below.

Fortnite Nintendo Switch vs Android (Samsung S9) Shows Us a Clear Winner

Like it or not, the Nintendo Switch isn’t the most powerful console out right now. And if you’re buying one for the graphics and technical prowess, then you’re in for a rude awakening. That said, Nintendo’s latest console isn’t a slouch, either — regardless of what many people think.

Over on YouTube, content producer TiLMENDOMiNATiON whipped up a short Fortnite Switch vs mobile video, showcasing the Nintendo Switch (in portable mode) against a Samsung S9. Just a few seconds in, it’s plainly obvious the Nintendo Switch version is leagues better, which shouldn’t be that surprising, no?

Not only are the Switch version’s colors better, the resolution is a whole lot better as well. Draw distance and the amount of items on screen at any given time are also tilted to the Switch’s favor, too.

Hopefully this puts a stop to all the “hur dur the Nintendo Switch is weaker than a mob1le phone!111” statements. You can check out the latest Fortnite Battle Royale patch and its list of changes here.

Are you surprised at the results? Have you seen a mobile version of a game that looks better than its console counterpart?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout Beta File to Use Updated MP Beta Client

It’s finally over! Treyarch has flipped the switched (off this time) for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta! While a good number (including me!) of people might be sad at the studio not extending the beta, there’s a very good reason for it! Sometime next month, the Black Ops 4 Blackout beta will start!

If you haven’t heard what Blackout is, it’s the new Battle Royale mode made just for Black Ops 4. Given how hot the genre is, it’s a no-brainer to see Call of Duty take a stab at it. If you’re part of the Black Ops 4 multiplayer beta, don’t delete the file just yet! Over on Reddit, Treyarch confirmed that those who downloaded the beta client will only need to download an update in order to play the Black Ops 4 Blackout beta!

And now…
byu/TreyarchPC inBlackops4

Also, quick heads-up that the game file from this weekend will be updated for the upcoming Blackout beta, so no need to download the full game again.

Given how big the beta client was, this is definitely good news for everyone involved. Also, in case you didn’t know, if you reached the beta’s level cap (which was at 40), there’s a surprise waiting for you when the full game is released.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC this October 12.

    • General Stability and Performance Improvements.
  • Scorestreaks:
    • General
      • Increased the delay at the start of a round before you can activate certain lethal Scorestreaks.
    • Strike Team
      • Doubled the health of each Strike Team squad member. This should help the Strike Team survive and react in situations where they are taking fire from several enemies at once.
    • Mantis
      • Fixed a text string on the Care Package containing the Mantis.
  • Maps:
    • Gridlock:
      • Fixed an exploitable location near the bath house which allowed players to look across the map.

Yesterday, we discussed that some people were encountering difficulties booting up the game on Xbox One. We’ve deployed a fix and all signs suggests that it has been resolved.

Once we get out of the immediate blast radius of the Beta weekend, we plan to come back with a comprehensive recap of the full Beta weekend, as well as address a few design changes that are on the horizon . . . stand by.

In the meantime, you’ve got 2XP and 2xWeaponXP to keep you busy, a new map to dominate (Hacienda), a new mode to master (Heist), and a Level Cap of 40 to hit.

Regarding the level cap, you’ve got some work to do on that last one (you know who you are). And the reward for doing it? Players that achieve max rank during the Beta will earn one permanent unlock token, which unlocks any item from the Create-a-Class menu at launch.

See you online!

DOOM Eternal Multiplayer Will Be Traditional, to Be Developed In-House

If you weren’t a fan of 2016’s DOOM’s multiplayer, then do we have good news for you! At Quake-Con, where DOOM Eternal gameplay debuted, id Software confirmed that traditional multiplayer will be in DOOM Eternal and then some!

Not a lot of specific details has been shared regarding DOOM Eternal multiplayer, other than it’ll be your standard competitive multiplayer mode. There will also be a new multiplayer mode called “Invasions” coming to the game as well. This mode will let players invade other players’ single-player campaigns as a demon, and will even let players group up to form parties.

The Invasion stuff is just kind of one of the ways that we’re going to make the Doom experience social. ut we’re not really going deep into that. We are working on a PvP component. It is new. It’s not an extension of what we did last time. So it’s new. It is something we’re developing internally, which we didn’t do last time. I think players are gonna really enjoy it. – Game Director Marty Stratton

The multiplayer mode for 2016’s DOOM was developed by Certain Affinity, with DOOM Eternal’s multiplayer confirmed to be in development internally at id Software.

DOOM Eternal is set for release in 2019 for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Beta Update Rolled Out Includes New Map, Increased Level Cap & More

If you’re part of the large group of people taking part in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta, then you might have noticed that a Black Ops 4 beta update rolled out earlier today. While a bunch of fixes are part of the roll out, there’s also a new map as well as 2XP and more!

The full list of changes to today’s Black Ops 4 beta update can be seen below.

Saturday Updates:

Here’s what you’ll see added to the game today:

  • Added Hacienda to all playlists.
  • Increased level cap to 40.
  • Activated 2XP and 2Weapon XP*.

\ You’re welcome.*

General Fixes:

  • General Stability and performance improvements.
  • Removed 30fps cap on Best Play cams for increased frame rate on playback.

Movement:

  • Jump – As we mentioned in our Day 3 Beta Update, we made some modifications to jump mechanics to reduce bunny hopping. After reviewing those changes yesterday and taking into consideration the feedback from the community, we’ve relaxed some of that tuning by increasing the default jump height back to where it was last weekend. We are still scaling down jump height with each subsequent jump to prevent repeated jumping during combat, but that initial jump is now 5 units higher again. This should help with some of those more difficult mantles.
  • Slide – Alongside our updates to jump, we also made some slight reductions to slide speeds and distances for Weekend 2. Now that we’ve had a chance to play with those changes internally and out in the wild with you all, along with evaluating feedback, we’re slightly increasing the default slide speed and distance. Our goal is to strike a nice balance between Weekend 1 and the current tuning. We intend slide to be used as a way to get to cover and perhaps surprise an enemy around a corner. This is a delicate balancing act between achieving those intentions while ensuring slide is not used as a primary means of traversal and cannot be spammed repeatedly during combat. If you really want to get your slide game on, check out the Dexterity Perk which will increase your speed and distance while sliding!

Weapons:

  • GKS
    • Extended the damage range to compete better at mid-range.
  • ABR 223
    • Increased 2nd shot recoil to make it harder to hit the 3rd shot in the burst at longer distances.

Specialists:

  • Recon
    • Reduced sensor dart duration.
  • Torque
    • Reduced razor wire cooldown.

Scorestreaks:

  • Mantis
    • Health buffed .

Game Modes:

  • Heist
    • Removed irrelevant items from the Hellion Salvo’s upgrade path.

Xbox 1 Crash:

  • During Day 1, we became aware that some people encountered difficulties booting the game on Xbox 1. After investigating this, we believe that we’ve identified the root cause as one that is related to Friends/Presence features. This morning, we’ll deploy a fix to address this issue. Part of that fix will involve removing the Friends presence in-game, which means that the Friends List on the social menu will not populate. NOTE: The Xbox Live platform Friends systems can still be used for joining, invites, etc. In the event that you are still encountering issues, please flag it with #BO4Beta and @ATVIassist on Twitter.

For the full list of changes from week 1 to this week, head on over here. MP1st will be putting up its own opinion of the beta once it’s over, so keep an eye out for it.

SCUM Release Date Set for August 29

Early this year, we posted a video showcasing SCUM’s realistic wetness and drying systems, which we suggest you go give a watch. What’s SCUM? It’s an Early Access survival game being developed by Croteam Publishing and Devolver Digital that’s looking good so far.

In a new video rolled out today, it mentioned that the SCUM game release date is set for August 29! Check out the two-minute clip below.

Will it be good enough to stand out from the rest of the crop? We’ll know for sure later this month once SCUM is in the hands of gamers willing to give it a go.

Are you excited to try out SCUM or is the genre too crowded for the game to make a dent?

Monster Hunter World Cements Itself as Biggest Japanese Game on Steam of All Time

Here’s another feather on Capcom’s cap when it comes to Monster Hunter World: aside from the blockbuster sales the game experienced when it launched on consoles, it’s now the biggest Japanese game ever on Steam!

In Eurogamer’s report, it mentioned that the game has reached over 240K concurrent players, which is an outdated figure since Monster Hunter World has already reached over 290K just today — and it’s not even the full weekend yet! It’s now the fourth most played game on Steam, which puts it over Grand Theft Auto 5, and below PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), Dota 2, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive!

For reference, the previous record holder for the most concurrent players in a given time for a Japanese game was Bandai Namco’s Dark Souls 3, which garnered over 129K players back in April 2016. It’s safe to say that Monster Hunter World is a big success on PC, which Capcom should no doubt notice.

Don’t forget to check out our Monster Hunter World game hub to see the guides we have for the game!
