Report: Call of Duty: WWII Lobby and Menu Screens Leaked

With the Call of Duty: WWII beta set to assault us very soon, it seems some people are already online and playing Sledgehammer Games’ upcoming shooter. While there’s a lot of gameplay already out in the wild, we still haven’t seen the menus and even the lobbies — at least until now.

Spotted on the CoD: WWII subreddit, a few posters have managed to unearth what looks like legit captures of the Call of Duty: WWII lobby screen and even menus. You can check out the lobby via the screenshot above, and the menus via the video below (sorry for the quality, folks!)

We’ve reached out to Activision for a statement on the screenshot and video and will update the post if and when they respond.

In other Call of Duty: WWII news, we posted about one of the scorestreaks in the game and how Sledgehammer has wisely added a warning/sign if an enemy can’t be targeted.

Call of Duty: WWII will be released this November 3 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Battlefield 1 In the Name of the Tsar Expansion Maps, Weapons, Modes Detailed

While there was a handful of Battlefield 1 news that came out of EA’s gamescom 2017 press conference, DICE is not done for the day yet. The studio has just blown the door wide open in regards to Battlefield 1’s upcoming expansion, “In the Name of the Tsar.”

Joining the fight is the Russian Army, including the “Women’s Battalion of Death” represented by the Scout class. That’s included along with six new maps, new weapons, modes and more. Check out the details below.

Lupkow Pass: The vertical fights are as bitter as the cold as you fight amid snow-covered ravines and treacherous mountains. The first map of Battlefield 1 In the Name of the Tsar, Lupkow Pass pits the Austro-Hungarian forces against the dug-in troops of the Russian Imperial Army. With narrow passes and gorges constantly limiting your sightlines, adapting your tactics is key. You’ll want to gain altitude and get a vantage point on the enemy to help secure the win – but an Armored Train may just change the outcome of the battle.

Albion: Partake in the skirmishes of the Albion assault in this massive invasion of the Baltic peninsula, as the German Empire enacts a brutal coastal bombardment against the heavy gun batteries of the Russian forces. While expert vehicle and artillery use is crucial, sharp-eyed infantry that are able to stay ahead of the mayhem can make a serious impact with each capture point.

Galicia: Set during the epic Brusilov Offensive, you’ll find the Russian Empire committed to pushing back the Austro-Hungarian forces from within the Russian countryside. It’s an open map focused on infantry, cavalry, and light vehicles. With plenty of open space to traverse, it’s a great opportunity to make use of the cavalry charge as both lightning-fast transport and a serious threat to enemies on foot.

Brusilov Keep: The Russians have pushed the Austro-Hungarians back into a secluded mountain town along a critical trade route of the Eastern Front, but the opposition is making a strong stand on this infantry-focused map. Set in the shadow of the Carpathian Mountains, there’s a big emphasis on close-range soldier combat here. Your best bet? Top-notch teamwork with your squad.

Tsaritsyn: The Bolsheviks and the Imperials enter the fray among barricaded streets as the old and new regimes fight for the soul of Russia. This up-close and personal infantry fight is as ruthless as they come. Use the house-to-house fighting to your advantage by setting up ambushes for overextending enemies.

Volga River: A ruined rural battleground sets the stage for a tank fight between the Bolsheviks in red and the Imperial Army in white. Makeshift shelters provide cover from the freezing cold and the constant exchange of heavy firepower. As you trade salvos with enemy tanks, remember to keep yourself from being outnumbered. A strategic retreat can give you time to regroup and prevent losing vehicle resources.

Along wit the six new maps, 11 Russian-themed weapons will be released and these include the: Mosin-Nagant M91, Russian Standard 1912 grenade and more. New vehicles will also be included like the Ilya-Muromets Heavy Bomber.

DICE will also be introducing the “Supply Drop” game mode where players will fight for supplies on the Eastern front as airdrops descend onto the battlefield and need to be captured. The Operations game mode will be expanded upon too with the “Brusilov Offensive.”

That’s quite a lot, no? Of course, the usual smattering of new dog tags, service stars and the like will be present as well, so players will continue to earn new in-game commendations while they try out the new maps, weapons and modes.

Battlefield 1: In the Name of the Tsar will be out for Premium members this September, with non-Premium members being able to purchase it two weeks after.

Gamescom 2017: Bungie Wanted to Treat Destiny 2 PC Players “Like First Class Citizens Since the First Day of Development”

During the gamescom 2017 Nvidia conference, community manager Deej spoke about the Destiny 2 PC experience, and explained how Bungie wanted to treat PC players “like first class citizens since the first day of development.”

“We wanted to treat PC gamers like first class citizens since the first day of development … It’s built from the ground up to be amazing on state of the art hardware.”

He went on to describe how the game “should feel native on the PC, [which] begins with uncompromising art and captivating gameplay.”

Of course, Deej is a master marketer, and exclusive PC features are what “master race” gamers care most about. Well, Destiny 2 has those PC features, with Deej moving on to remind us about: adjustable field of view, in-game frame-rate counter, uncapped frame-rate, 4K support, options for SLI, compatibility with 21:9 monitors, and high-dynamic range lighting.

While the original game didn’t make it to PC, the sequel looks to be trying to right those wrongs. Destiny 2 PC support is looking great!

Expect an Nvidia driver to go live on August 24, which will optimize things for the Destiny 2 beta. Early access for that starts on August 29.

Will you be playing Destiny 2 on PC?

Xbox One “Codename Hollywood” Revealed to Be Halo Wars 2 DLC, “Awakening the Nightmare” Expansion Launching September 26

Following a leak from a German online retailer, which showed an Xbox One game called “Codename Hollywood” in the product listings, many were hoping for a big game reveal during gamescom 2017. Unfortunately for those folks, it’s not a new game at all. Halo developer Frank O’Connor cleared things up on NeoGAF, revealing that “Codename Hollywood” is in fact “the working codename of the Halo Wars 2 DLC.”

Presumably, the Halo Wars 2 DLC in question, is the upcoming Awakening the Nightmare expansion. This has now been confirmed to be releasing on September 26.

Here’s everything Xbox has shared about it so far:

Halo Wars 2: Awakening the Nightmare is a completely new expansion for Halo Wars 2, bringing a new Banished campaign, crisp Blur cinematics, new maps, new leaders and a new game mode called Terminus Firefight together in one exciting package.

The expansion takes place just a few months after the end of the events in Halo Wars 2, where the war for control of the Ark continues to rage on. The Banished, in their efforts to do anything to regain the upper hand against Captain Cutter and the brave troops on board the UNSC Spirit of Fire, find out their willingness to risk it all can have serious consequences – and those consequences take shape in the form of the Flood!

We also announced on stage that the team is working on building support for Spectator Mode and Arena functionality. That means you’ll be able to watch other player matches online and you’ll also be able to compete in broader Xbox Live tournaments where you can definitively prove Yapyap THE DESTROYER is the best Leader. Ever.

Both Halo 5: Guardians and Halo Wars 2 will feature 4K support on the Xbox One X. To see the current list of Xbox One X enhanced games (there’s over 100!) click here!

If you want an Xbox One X, but haven’t yet pre-ordered, hurry up!

Gamescom 2017 – Jurassic World Evolution Announced

During Microsoft’s gamescom 2017 showcase, the company showed the world premiere of “Jurassic World Evolution” which seems to be a real-time strategy (RTS) game based on the best-selling movie/book franchise.

Build your own Jurassic World, bioengineer new dinosaur breeds, and construct attractions, containment and research facilities. Every choice leads to a different path and spectacular challenges arise when ‘life finds a way.’

We see a few seconds of gameplay where the dinosaurs escape their cages and wreck havoc on the people present. Base building seems to be a focal point of the game as well, which is a given due to its RTS gameplay mechanics.

Jurassic World Evolution is set for release in 2018 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Watch the gameplay announcement trailer above.

Gamescom 2017 – PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Expanded Partnership With Microsoft Detailed

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds‘ Brendan Greene spoke during the Microsoft gamescom 2017 presser, and gave new details on the Xbox One version of PUBG.

Greene confirmed that his team has entered into an “expanded partnership” with Microsoft to bring the game to Xbox One under the “Xbox Game Preview.”

Chang Han Kim gave more information via a press release:

Back in June at E3, we announced that PUBG will be launching exclusively on Xbox One in the Xbox Game Preview program in late 2017. Ever since then we have come to realize that we have a shared vision for the direction of the game with the Xbox team. This led to our decision on extending our partnership with Microsoft and I’m happy to announce it now includes Microsoft as the publisher for our PUBG on Xbox One.

By partnering with Microsoft, our team believes that we will be able to accelerate console development, while maintaining quality across all platforms, as well as giving us access to vast sales, marketing and publishing resources that will help us reach new fans to welcome to the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds universe.

We are excited to continue and further strengthen our partnership with Microsoft and are super excited to meet the Xbox community. We will be launching exclusively on Xbox One in the Xbox Game Preview program later this year and we can’t wait to see all the Xbox fans on the battlefield.

Things aren’t looking good for a potential PS4 version!

Will you be playing PUBG on Xbox One?
