Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League and Gotham Knights Confirmed for DC FanDome

Looks like we’ll be getting a whole new look at both the Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League and Gotham Knights this October, as the duo has been officially confirmed for the DC FanDome event.

Created as a response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic last year, DC FanDome Will once again be returning this year as a free four-hour streaming event.

Many DC fans can expect to see some major updates  to some long awaited movies such as Matt Reeves’ The Batman, along with Black Adam, The Flash, and other DC movies and shows during the event.

However, while no doubt the upcoming slate of movies will serve as the highlight for the event, DC will also be taking the opportunity to give gamers a long overdue update on some of their upcoming video games, which includes both the Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League and Gotham Knights.

This was revealed in a brand-new promotional video (as well as a new poster) that was recently published on the DC FanDome landing page.

Suicide squad kill the justice league DC FanDome

No exact specifics were outlined as to what we will see from both titles, though we do expect to see more gameplay from Gotham Knights, and hopefully a release date since it was originally slated to release this year. As for the Suicide Squad game from Rocksteady, that’s anyone’s guess but hopefully we finally get to see some sort of gameplay reveal rather than another CGI trailer. Fingers crossed!

The DC FanDome event will be streaming online for free on October 16. We’ll be sure to keep you all posted on any new announcements around both Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League.

The last we’ve seen of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was when new high-def screenshots were released, while Gotham Knights release was pushed back officially a few months ago.

Save the World:

SGT Tank Gatling’s perk Bouncy Shield is no longer triggering

Description

SGT Gatling’s perk, Bouncy Shield, is suppose to create a sonic wave when blocking with the Goin Constructor Shield. That is no longer happening and is currently under investigation as to why.

Inaccurate description of Goin’ Constructor in game

Description
In game description of Goin’ Constructor says raising the shield gives 675% reduced damage. This is incorrect. In actuality raising the shield does not reduce damage, but gives 675 armor. The description should be fixed in the next patch.

Here’s the trailer from the developers and Prime Matter, showing off what happens if you choose to be a savior or destroyer.

Here’s the overview of the story from the game’s press release.

The Last Oricru is an action RPG with a strong emphasis on dynamic storytelling and player choices. Waking up in the living and breathing Sci-Fi/Medieval world of Wardenia, players find themselves in the middle of a massive civil war over supremacy on the planet. Choose your own path, side with the different factions or betray them, influence the outcome of the war as Your Choice Matters! The Last Oricru is designed as both a single-player and a coop experience.

Unlike other RPGs where the emphasis is mostly a single-player journey, The Last Orichu has a co-op experience which can be accessed after the tutorial of the game. New puzzles and battles can be accessed by playing with a partner, and they can jump in at any time to add new layers of gameplay and storytelling in the game.

DUEX Plus Review – Dual Monitor on the Go

Have you ever wanted to rock that dual monitor setup for your laptop be it for work or gaming? If you’re as curious as we are, then you might want to take a peek at our DUEX Plus review!

We go hands-on with the latest successful crowd funding project, the DEUX Plus, a portable monitor created by Mobile Pixel to finally bring the joy of duel monitor to laptop users.

Unlocking Your Laptop’s Full Potential

I’ve been a PC gamer for maybe over a decade now. Not a big one, admittedly, as I prefer my console gaming due to ease of access, but I do have my fair share of PC games, and as of recent have been getting more and more into it. I can understand why PC gamers love PC gaming because there is so much freedom in what you can do compared to a closed platform like PlayStation and Xbox. I don’t think I need to go into all the details as I’m sure most of you have seen some of the rabid fanboys online gloating about the PC Master race, but I get the reasoning after diving more into it.

Now, I will say the one thing I do love about desktop gaming in general is the fact that I can have multiple monitors running at one time. One for gaming or watching a movie, the other for work-related stuff. It’s a killer combo, with my productivity skyrocketing after buying a second monitor. It’s such a huge game changer, and anyone with a PC set-up should get in on it right away.

So what does that have to do with portable laptops? Well a lot, because for the longest time I didn’t actually know there was a company dedicated to making multiple screen set-ups for laptops. The best thing is, they’re built to be as slim as your laptop.

Mobile Pixel is the company behind the DUEX Series, with a TRIO series also available for those looking for even more screens. Today we’ll focus on the DUEX Plus, a single screen monitor that attaches to the back of your laptop using some very strong magnets.

Setting up the DUEX Plus was extremely easy, as all it required was removal of a few sticky strips from the magnets, and then aligning it with the backside of the laptop screen. It’s not rocket science, and it probably took us only a few minutes to get it all done. What’s more, the packaging came with a nifty alignment sheet with some extra sticky adhesive for reapplication should we decide to move it to another laptop.

After, using the supplied USB cable (comes with both USB-C, and USB-2.00 combo), and hooking it directly to our laptop, it only took a few seconds for the drivers to install and recognize that a second screen was plugged in. Just like that, I was all set to improve my laptop experience, and oh, boy, was it improved.

Wanting to step away from my main work station, I decided to head on out with my laptop at hand. I did notice it being heavier due to the Dual Plus being attached to it, but it was just a measly 1.3LB. The thickness was more of my initial concern because I own a very thin work laptop that I didn’t want to add a bunch of bulk to. Surprisingly, the DUEX Plus is insanely thin, and the added “bulk” wasn’t really that big of a deal. It only added a bit more than a pencil amount of thickness, barely anything. The real test was how practical it was actually going to be.

Having set-up shop, it was time to see the DUEX Plus in action. Using the simple built in slider, the DUEX Plus slid out of its enclosure from the back of my laptop seamlessly. There was enough resistance so it wouldn’t just randomly fly out during transport, but easy to pull with light effort. From there everything just worked upon booting up my laptop. I now had two screens I could use at the same time.

That’s pretty awesome if you ask me, something I never once thought about before.  What’s more, while attached you also have a few different orientations. Obviously there’s the side by side orientation that you see above, but if you wanted, you could shift the DUEX Plus so it sits at a full right angle turn, giving you kind of a more private viewing. The other way that I didn’t think much about initially was setting it up so the screen was on the backside of the laptop.

At first I wondered, “Why would I want a screen that I can’t see?” and the answer soon became obvious when my colleagues stood behind me to see my work. I’m someone who just doesn’t like being close to people when I’m working, I just hate that looming feeling. So, instead of them walking up to see what I was working on, I decided to flip the screen to the back and mirror my current one, that way they could see everything going on in my screen without having to move. I’m comfortable, they’re comfortable, and with the last year and half being under a pandemic, I just can’t think of a better way to continue to maintain some social distance in public amongst fellow co-workers.

Then there’s the two self-standing options. The first one is portrait mode. I’ve never been a fan of this orientation, nor am I here, but the option is there if you want it. The other self-standing mode unfortunately requires the purchase of the Origami Kickstand ($35). This makes it so you can use it in landscape mode while keeping the monitor appropriately leveled. I mentioned that last bit because you can set it up like that as is, but it’s clearly not built for it as it slopes down.

It would have been nice to be able to have a landscape stand built into the DEUX Plus, but at the same time, either of the orientations kind of defeat the whole purpose of buying one when there are other options, such as the Sidetrack monitor we reviewed months back. Either way, I personally won’t use either modes, but options are great.

I should also mention that you can flip the display from left to right in one effortless motion, with it auto adjusting to the new orientation. I mean, check this out.

That’s insane!

As for the overall image quality, it’s good for what needs to be done. The colors come in rich and vibrant with modes also offered to make reading and such easier. I mean, it’s not super crazy like an FHD gaming monitor, but it certainly doesn’t come off as being cheap with a faded picture. I do like that there is no glare whatsoever coming from it, so if you did have it in the right angle orientation, the light from your laptop screen isn’t going to produce blinding glare from the other screen.

Let’s Switch Gears for a Second

In addition to being a secondary laptop screen, the DUEX monitor also fully supports the Nintendo Switch, along with certain android devices. Setting that up is easy as all you need is an external power source (Switch charger works) to power the DUEX and then connect both devices with a USB-C to USB-C cable.

You now have a bigger screen to play all your Switch or android games. It’s not a groundbreaking feature truth be told, nor do we really see someone going out to buy this solely for the Switch, but as I said before having options is always a great thing.

One Thing to Watch For

I’m fortunate enough to own another laptop to test the DEUX Plus out, but just as a fair warning to everyone who may be interested in this, make sure your laptop is flat on the back side of the screen. I had purchased a gaming PC by MSI last year and had hopes that this Monitor would fit nicely on it. Sadly, it didn’t as the laptop had some curves to it that would not allow the sticky magnets to set properly.

This is not the product’s fault by any means, I just want you to be aware of that compatibility issue.

Verdict

The DUEX Plus is one of those things that you don’t know you want until you get it. Having spent plenty of time using one, I got to say this is easily one of the best inventions for laptop users out there. It’s light, easy to install, and offers huge increases to one’s productivity and efficiency. It will cost you a bit, with this specific model running for $350 USD (13.3 inches), and the Lite $329 (12.5 inches), but it’s money well spent.

Pros

  • Easy to set-up and operate.
  • Light weight and super thin.
  • Man different orientations available directly from the unit.
  • Improves productivity and efficiency.

Cons

  • Wish it had a built in stand for landscape set-up. Have to buy a separate one for that.

Where to buy?

The MobilePixel DUEX Plus Monitor is available for purchase at MSRP of $349.99. A unit was provided for review purposes. Product tested for laptops and consoles uses. You can read MP1st’s review and scoring policy right here.

China Implements Three-Hour Limit for Kids Playing Online Video Games

September will see big changes set for gamers living in China who are below the age of 18, as the country will implement a three-hour limit for kids playing online video games in order to curb online gaming companies, and fight game addiction.

In a story by Bloomberg, restrictions have been heightened on China to prevent children from gaming endlessly — giving tech companies such as Tencent Games, which distributes Honor of Kings, new rules to enforce to their customer base. Starting September 1, gamers under 18 can only play from 8PMto 9PM on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holiday, and name checks are required to ensure that ages check out and only adults are allowed entry with a real-name verification system in place.

Other guidelines were also noted in the report by Bloomberg.

  • All online games should be linked to a state anti-addiction system, and companies can’t provide services to users without real-name registrations

  • Regulators will ratchet up checks over how gaming firms carry out restrictions on things like playing time and in-game purchases

  • Regulators will work with parents, schools and other members of the society to combat youth gaming addiction

While kids at China will have to adjust to these new rules, the rest of the gaming world continues on and you can check out more news, features, and content right here at MP1st.

Battlefield Portal: Anybody Can Be a Builder Is the Goal, Devs Say Script-Based Engine Would Scare People

In case you didn’t know, Battlefield 2042 will ship with a brand-new mode called Battlefield Portal, that seems to a literal game-changer, as it will let gamers create their own match types, modes, and more. While mode developer Ripple Effect Studios has already confirmed that it will be web-based, and will let even non-BF2042 owners create their own playlists, it seems the devs are making sure it’s user-friendly as well.

Speaking in the October issue of Play magazine (issue #5), Ripple Effect Senior Design Director Justin Wiebe commented that they want “anybody” to be a builder, and how the studio didn’t want to give players a script-based engine, as it will “scare a lot of people.”

We knew that if we went straight for just a logic- or scripting-based engine, while extremely powerful, it was going to scare a lot of people…Anybody can be a builder. That was our goal.

In the same chat, Wiebe explains how easy it is to use Battlefield Portal, and compares it to building blocks.

The visual language and how easy it is to kind of snap blocks together, and it tells you which ones go together, which ones don’t. From there, it’s just trial-anderror, it’s trying new things, and, you know, trying to encourage players to have fun with it.

So far, Ripple Effect Studios seems to be right on the money when it comes to Battlefield Portal. The studio is even offering different weapon settings for BF Portal, which includes both historical and official.

If you haven’t seen it in action yet, check out our first gameplay look of it right here.

Who Leads The Brujah Clan? Sharkmob Details the Lore for the Bloodhunt Brujah Primogen

In their latest lore reveal, Sharkmob has shared more on one of the Clans that will be featured in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt. This latest post delves deeper into the Brujah Primogen in Bloodhunt, a Clan known for their rage and overall affinity for war.

With a temperament to match their name, what kind of vampire could possibly hold control over the Brujah? Read on the Bloodhunt Brujah Primogen below.

Once they were philosopher-kings, but these nights the Brujah are better described as violent visionaries and spiteful rebels. Driven by the foolish dream that we can live in peace with our human cattle, the Brujah elevated the city of Carthage to prominence. Their defeat at the hands of Rome and my own clan shaped history. It also made the Brujah what they are tonight.

Every hundred years or so, the Rabble attach themselves to mortal uprisings, sucking down rivers of noble blood as they whip the masses into a revolutionary frenzy. Yes, many of their kind care deeply about the wellbeing of the oppressed, but in the end, their solutions are tainted by their anger and lack of self-control.

While most of the Brujah predictably joined the Anarchs at the First Convention of Prague, the handful that remain loyal are our fiercest soldiers. Long time Sherriff and Scourge Kirill, born a Bohemian warrior in the late 14th century, is the best example.

Disillusioned by the horror of the Great War and the October Revolution, Kirill swore his fangs and blade to the Prince of his old home city and has continued to do so. If I need a schemer, I will call Maia. If I need a courthouse burned to the ground or an Anarch domain cleared out, I will call on Kirill.

Kirill is an excellent example of what I label a “Vandal.” Their tactics remind me of the methods barbarians used to scatter and confuse Roman patrols. Always first to fight, the Vandal smashes into the ground with seismic force, stunning entire coteries of defenders. Unfortunately, most Vandals are Anarchs, and like Kirill, they have learned to feed on the gore of melee, using it to heal as they fight. In battle, you want to keep your distance from them, but this is easier said than done.

At the end of the last convention, I was hunting down a group of American Anarchs. One of them, a true “Brute” of a woman, suddenly turned around and used her supernatural strength and speed to throw a mass of junk and pavement towards us. My guards’ 7.62’s ricocheted off the demolished street, and I had to stop dead to avoid a street lamp falling on me. The Brute had bought herself enough time to get a second wind and charge at us. It took our combined power to finally subdue her. But as she turned to dust, her allies had managed to escape.

Both Vandals and Brutes use their immense strength to jump headlong into combat. They strike fast, and they strike hard. Thankfully, I can make my own flesh as hard as stone to counter their assaults. Unfortunately, most of my subjects can not.

As I write this, I feel deep gratitude for having Kirill on my side as the Anarchs of Prague rightly fear his hatred towards them. It keeps them at bay. But the simple fact that rebel Brujah outnumber the loyalists 6 to 1 remains one of the most significant challenges to my rule.

– From “Reflections of Prince Markus; On the Threat of the Prometheans”

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt is set to be released on PC via Steam Early Access this September 7.

Battlefield 2042 Damage Types, More Hazard Zone Details Unearthed

While we already reported on some of the ammo types found within the Battlefield 2042 data files, it seems there will be other damage types as well. Unearthed recently are the different Battlefield 2042 damage types, and even details about the yet-to-be revealed, Hazard Zone mode.

Once again spotted by reliable dataminer temporyal, there are “cold,” “storm,” and even “radiation” damage types for BF2042!

Outside of the damage types, another map has been spotted as part of Hazard Zone, too!

Again, same with any datamined info, nothing here has been confirmed by DICE or EA, so there’s still a chance that these are leftover files from past builds or something. Hopefully, we’ll hear more about Hazard Zone officially soon, as that’s the only mode DICE has not revealed, though we do know it’s not a battle royale game mode.

With Battlefield 2042’s October 22 release date fast approaching, we should be hearing news about the game’s beta soon.

The remake has been sorely awaited by fans of the franchise, and it will incorporate the new Frostbite engine EA has been using in their games.

The first photo features Robbie Amell, Hannah John-Kamen, Chad Rook, and Tom Hopper as Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Richard Aiken, and Albert Wesker — standing in the front entrance of the Spencer Mansion.

The second photo features a first look at the mutated Lisa Trevor — a creature who was one of the new inclusions in the Resident Evil Remake and who will be played by horror film actress Marina Mazepa.

The final picture shows off two characters familiar to RE fans new and old — Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield from Resident Evil 2. Played by Avan Jogia and Kaya Scodelario respectively, their looks are inspired by the characters updated costumes from the RE2 Remake, and their story takes place two months after the events of the first game — where Raccoon City has gone to hell and almost every resident of the city has turned into a zombie or biological monster.

Directed by 47 Meters Down director Johannes Roberts, Welcome to Raccoon City is aimed at the fans of the games and the director expresses that he drew inspiration from the them and old school genre films.

“This movie really had nothing to do with the previous franchise. This was all about returning to the games and creating a movie that was much more a horror movie than the sort of sci-fi action of the previous films. I was hugely influenced in particular by the remake of the second game and I really wanted to capture the atmosphere-drenched tone that it had. It was so cinematic. The previous movies were very bright and shiny whereas this movie was dark and grimy, entirely shot at night. It’s constantly raining and the town is shrouded in mist. … I was hugely influenced by movies like The Exorcist (and Exorcist 3!), Don’t Look Now, and The Shining. You can really feel the texture in this movie. Nothing in this town feels hi-tech. It feels dilapidated. I wanted Raccoon City to feel a bit like the town in Deer Hunter; a ghost town forgotten by the rest of the world. And the whole structure of the film was definitely very influenced by Assault on Precinct 13.”

While this is the first in months that we’ve gotten a major update on the film, we’ve followed the Resident Evil movie reboot since it was announced and you can check our archives for past news on the film’s development.

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City will be released in theaters on November 24.

Vigilance 2099 Unreal Engine 5 Gameplay Looks Fantastic But a Little Familiar

CD Projekt REDs Cyberpunk 2077 was just the first of many when it comes to the cybperunk surge in the video game industry, and whatever your opinion of it is there’s no doubt that its popularity has inspired a lot of developers to do their own take for the genre. One of the latest floating around is that of developer Envoidant Studio’s Vigilance 2099. When we first reported on this a month ago there was very little to go on in terms of information, but now the developers have some new footage to show, and you can sneak a peek below at the Vigilance 2099 Unreal Enginge 5 gameplay trailer.

Vigilance 2099 gameplay still looks a little rough around the edges, but that is understandable as the game is currently in the very early stages of development. However, it does look very promising when it comes to what is shown, despite some parts looking somewhat familiar if you’ve played Cyberpunk 2077 before.

The trailer also mentions the fact that Envoidant Studio has managed to find a publishing partner in Behemoth Interactive, best known for their work in the comics industry. They are also expected to go with the Kickstarter route for funding Vigilance 2099, although at the time of this writing the Kickstarter page is not yet live. We’ll update this post accordingly once that is up.

As the developer mentioned before, Vigilance 2099 is aiming to release on PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles.  The game’s Steam page now up. Check it out for yourself here.

Vigilance 2099 is set to be released for PC and other unannounced platforms at a still unknown date.

Revolving shotgun 71
M1911 60
STG-44 – 71
BAR – 71
1911 – 60

For those interested, the max weapon level cap in Modern Warfare 2019 was at 100, though players stopped earning rewards at level 70.

Again, same with every other piece of info not officially released by Activision or its studios, take it with a grain of salt, as things could change from now until the game’s release in November 5.

Madden 22 Review – Moving the Goalposts

Another year, and just like clockwork, another Madden. It’s easy to write off sports games each year, but before I continue, I do want to say I have a lot of respect for the developers of these games. They are tasked with one the most challenging jobs in video games — creating innovations in less than a year in a genre that hasn’t seen graphical, or gameplay jumps in who knows how long. To top it all off, almost all sports games have little to no competition, so fewer developers working on the genre means less chance for innovation, which hurts the entire sports game industry.

As much as I respect the devs, looking at this year’s Madden, well, it’s a lot of the same as the last few year’s, but because Madden sells like crazy every year, EA has taken the approach of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Next-Gen Game, Last Gen Looks

The presentation in Madden 22 is still one of the most jarring things in the series. While some upgrades have been made to pre-game presentations, they still feel awkward, and not what regular game days feel like.

My biggest issue is how players look, and how their in-game models react when they don’t have their helmets on. It’s hard to believe that this engine is the same one that games like Battlefield and Battlefront are made on. While players’ faces are noticeably improved compared to Madden 21 thanks to the new facial scan tech, hair still looks like straw, facial features like mouths, and eyes still look like they were made ten years ago. This is especially true when playing Madden 22’s single-player addition, Face of the Franchise. Additionally, all cutscenes are made from in-game assets, so all those mouth problems and facial detail (or lack thereof) issues I mentioned above, even more noticeable in these cutscenes. Next to no detail stands out, and it’s hard to believe that this is supposed to be the “next-gen” upgrade we have been looking forward to.

Pre-game flythroughs of the stadiums still look beautiful, and I love how they finally incorporated cameras that show what fans (that look half decent) are doing. Jets will fly across the sky, players will be hyping the team up (though the mouth movements mentioned above still look terrible), and you get a sense that if they just took some extra time perfecting the engine, there is something gorgeous that could be put on display here. Unfortunately, the Superbowl is still a massive disappointment that feels like it couldn’t be any other game. Nothing special sets it apart aside from players running onto the field after and celebrating a little bit.

Madden 22’s menus have received a much-needed speed boost compared to last year. When playing game modes like Madden Ultimate Team or Franchise mode, constantly bouncing around different menus, it is a welcome change to have quick and responsive menus. On basically every menu and even in-game, the NFL wants to make sure you know about “Next Gen Stats.” The black and neon green is plastered everywhere in the game, from scoreboards to in-game pop-ups, telling you about every little stat you would typically see on the field. It’s a nice touch but can feel a bit annoying at times.

The Sounds of the Field

Where Madden 22 nails it is the sound design. You can feel every hit as players run into each other. On-field chatter from players sounds excellent, and even fans sound fantastic when they have their moments. One bug I would encounter is when the camera would show only fans or the players on the benches; all other sounds would become very low, so you would get these weird moments where only the sounds of fans cheering or players talking and nothing else. I hope that gets fixed with Madden’s post-launch updates.

Brandon Gaudin and Charles Davis return as the play-by-play announcers, and while there isn’t anything wrong with them, EA hasn’t brought them in very long to record new voiceovers. As a result, you will constantly hear commentary that you have listened to for the past two or three years in past games. It can get very annoying, but to top it off, Madden still has no half-time entertainment that the 2K basketball games have had for years. I’m not a big basketball fan, but when I see Shaq and the TNT panel coming on to talk about the game during intermissions in NBA 2K, I can’t help but love how many voice lines they had them come in and do that makes each game feel like an actual broadcast. Madden needs to look into this to bring gamers in and feel like they are watching a real NFL game.

The Field Is a Bit Beat Up

The gameplay in Madden is its usual self. Players are responsive, and the game plays wonderfully, especially at 120hz. Calling plays from the new menus feels like you can get around faster and find the play you want quicker. Just like every year, Madden releases with a few plays that are downright broken because they seem to work almost every time you call them until a few patches come out to balance everything out.  This game heavily favors the offense at launch. I can’t recall the last Madden that came out with this amount of basic free plays because the defense would either get blocked pass rushing and stop trying after, or the man coverage would cover my team for a few seconds then slowly just drift to the middle of the field.

Superstar X-Factors make their return that gives Madden a more arcade feel. High rated players come equipped with specific skills that activate when they perform a particular feat on the field. This can be anything from catching a 20-yard pass or completing five passes in a row. In addition, the X-Factors boost players’ skills like trucking through tackles, jumping higher for 50/50 balls, and being stronger on the line. I liked that Madden seems to have found an outstanding balance between these arcade-style features and the realism of regular football.

One other new feature that adds to the gameplay is an old idea from NCAA games of the past. Home-field advantage and momentum swings give teams special abilities during the game. The better you play, the more momentum upgrades are added. Things like seeing which of your opponent’s receivers are the main target on a play or the route arrows for your opponent will be moving all around, so they have a more challenging time knowing which route their players will run. None of these things will severely affect games, but they are fun ways to reward players for playing well.

Get Excited (If You Play Franchise)

With a few improvements, Madden 22’s game mode selection is about what you would expect from a Madden game.

Ultimate Team is still the game circus of complete challenges, earn coins, get card packs, open them to get better players, improve your team and go online to compete against others until you realize you get smacked by someone who spent $500 to get better cards than you.

Superstar KO and The Yard make returns this year too. The Yard is where you create your player and level him up. It’s a fun 6v6 mode that you can play with friends, and since it is more arcade-focused, the rules are different to allow for big splash plays. Superstar KO is another arcade based mode

Face of the Franchise is again back, and puts you in the shoes of a college player making his way up to the big leagues. You create your character, select your position, and upgrade your stats as you make your way through the story. I enjoyed Face of the Franchise for the most part, as it almost feels like an RPG lite where you get to make the choices of how you build your player. The issues are with the bugs and glitches I encountered. For example, in many training sessions, players wouldn’t spawn, and I even experienced an issue where the ball was either invisible or wouldn’t spawn, and I had to quit out and rejoin to fix the problem.

Where most Madden fans will be overjoyed are the improvements with Franchise mode. Finally, after years of complaints about features being removed and next to no innovation, Franchise takes a step in a positive direction.

You feel like this is Madden 22’s meat and potatoes, Franchise mode is very deep, and it feels more like an RPG off the field with the amount of control you have.

You get to control the head coach, offensive and defensive game plans, and player personnel. This lets you hire and fire who you want to, negotiate contracts with players agents, customize your skill tree that has multiple branching paths and customize your stadium and the costs associated with it. They even added mini-story-like moments where you hold press conferences and select what you say to the media. It isn’t profound, but things like this give Franchise mode that realistic feel of running a football team.

EA has already promised updates for Franchise that will continue to add to the depth, a welcome sign that they care about Franchise players instead of focusing solely on the cash cow that is Ultimate Team. In September, fans can expect a deeper college scouting experience and more updates as the year goes on.

Verdict

Madden 22 is what most people would expect from EA’s yearly sports franchise. Some upgrades here and there but mostly the same product. Visuals still don’t come close to looking next-gen, but the presentation has improved a bit. In addition, franchise mode gets a long-needed upgrade, and EA isn’t solely focusing on pushing updates for Ultimate Team anymore.

Score:  6/10

Pros:

  • Sound design is top-notch
  • Franchise gets a much-needed upgrade
  • On-field presentation is an improvement over 21

Cons:

  • Visuals still look dated
  • Bugs in Face of the Franchise
  • Defensive AI is too easy

Lavos – Ophidian Bite

Change to reduce cooldown of all Abilities by (X) seconds for hitting a cluster of enemies (exact number TBD), while also adding an ability range buff for Ophidian Bite.

Xaku – Grasp Of Lohk

When a stolen weapon deals damage to a target affected by an ability of The Lost, Xaku heals for HP.

Xaku – The Lost

Casting a Lost ability increases the power strength of The Lost by a certain % and will stack. Casting the same lost ability twice in a row resets the bonus.

Trinity – Blessing

Gain ranged (primary/secondary weapon) Crit Chance % for each % you heal on your allies. On refresh it adds up new value and refreshes the timer.

And that wraps up the preview for this big upcoming updated.

The Warframe September Update is coming this September 8, and once it’s out, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

Report: Death Stranding 2 in Negotiations Says Norman Reedus

While we will all get to revisit Death Stranding in less than a month with the Death Stranding Director’s Cut release, it would seem that game director Hideo Kojima himself may not be finished with the IP, as actor, and star of the game, Norman Reedus has come out to say that there are negotiations for Death Stranding 2!

”I think we’re doing a second Death Stranding” Reedus said in a recent Walking Dead roundtable with AdoroCinema, further saying that a Death Stranding 2 is in negotiations.

No further information was unveiled by the actor, though given the recent success of the title hitting the five-million milestone for copies sold, and the game getting a director’s cut, a sequel doesn’t seem all that far-fetched.

It does beg the question though, where does the IP go since Death Stranding seemed to have tidied up most of its own plot? Who knows, though we’re sure that Kojima will certainly come up with something.

However, we should note that it is entirely possible that Norman may be under the assumption it’s a sequel he would be working on rather than a new IP that Kojima has been rumored to be working on for some time. Guess only time will tell, and we will be sure to keep you all posted should any new developments happen.

For more on Death Stranding, check out gameplay of the Director’s Cut where we also see some of the new stuff coming with the new version of the game.

Death Stranding Director’s Cut will be released on September 24 for the PS5, with PS4 gamers who own the game given the chance to try out the new content for a $10 upgrade fee.
