Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Multiplayer Gameplay Reveal Happening Tomorrow, 2v2 “Gunfight” Mode First Look

Update (7/11/19): Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Multiplayer Gameplay Videos Now Up (Gunfight Mode)

It’s been a long time coming, but we’re finally getting that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer reveal tomorrow, July 11! While Infinity Ward hasn’t announced anything themselves, the official studio Twitter account has retweeted a bunch of influencers who have also announced that they will be showcasing Modern Warfare multiplayer tomorrow!

Based on the tweets, it looks like the influencers will be able to actually stream Modern Warfare multiplayer gameplay, and not just upload pre-recorded footage, though I expect a ton of that to take happen as well. We’ll be able to see “Gunfight” for the first time, which is a 2v2 mode that was mentioned before in one of our earlier reports.

The Modern Warfare multiplayer reveal seems to be happening at 10 a.m. PDT, though I wouldn’t be surprised if Infinity Ward releases a multiplayer trailer before the embargo to stream lifts. Hopefully, we’ll be able to know more about the killstreaks, perks and more, instead of just relying on the rumors floating about.

What do you hope to see tomorrow? We’ll get a post up spotlighting some of the streams available once they’re up.

Here Are All the Anthem New Items Coming in the Cataclysm Update

While BioWare hasn’t exactly been in a sharing mood when it comes to Anthem, those playing the looter shooter has one big event coming up, and that’s the Cataclysm, which is available in the PTS (Public Test Server). If you’re curious about the Anthem new items coming to the event, then read on.

Currently, there are 33 new items on the PTS, which will be rolled out into the game once the Cataclysm update (whenever that is). Here’s what we know so far (via Reddit user aqua19858):

9 Masterwork/Legendary Universal Guns – 3 of each of the 3 new types (Volt Caster, Blade Slinger, Pulse Accelerator), all with unique effects and visuals. Images and details here.

8 Masterwork/Legendary versions of Existing Support Gear – 2 for each class, upgraded versions of existing ones with unique abilities.

Colossus

  • Berserker’s Cry (Battle Cry): Additionally increases Melee Ability
  • Surging Shield (Shield Pulse): Additionally regenerates shields through damage while the effect is active

Interceptor

  • Slayer’s Furor (Target Beacon): Marking a target also marks additional enemies near that target
  • Voice of Courage (Rally Cry): Revives nearby downed allies.

Ranger

  • Tarsis’ Last Stand (Muster Point): In addition to gun damage all damage in increased.
  • Vanguard’s Rampart (Bulwark point): Provides temporary charges for (Ability 1) [+200% Charges]

Storm

  • Howling Veil (Wind Wall): Detonates a Combo explosion on expiration.
  • Anthem’s Grace (Quickening Field): Additionally Increases gear damage while in the field.

8 Masterwork/Legendary Melee Weapons – 2 for each class, 1 being an upgraded version of the base melee weapon and the other being a brand new variant of the opposite kind (primer vs detonator) with a different/added elemental effect.

8 Masterwork/Legendary Variants of Existing Abilities – 2 for each class, 1 for each slot, add interesting new effects to existing abilities, along with different stats and newly priming and/or detonating (Yes some of them do both).

That’s a lot of new stuff, right? Let’s hope that this Cataclysm update will be enough to reinvigorate the game and then some when it’s finally released. If you’re curious how it’s looking so far, go watch gameplay right here.

Battlefield 5 Next Update Scheduled for Late July, Stability Patch Rolling Out Tomorrow for XB1

Remember when we said that the Battlefield 5 next update was scheduled to come out this week pending certification? Well, it seems it’s only for the Xbox One! This was announced and confirmed by DICE today over on Reddit, where the studio also revealed that the Battlefield 5 next update is currently scheduled for “late July” and will be available on all platforms.

As for the Battlefield 5 Xbox One patch, here’s when it’ll become available, and what it will fix:

Availability

4.02 will be deployed on Xbox One at the following times:

  • 12:00 PM CEST
  • 11:00 AM BST
  • 6:00 AM ET
  • 3:00 AM PT

Patch Notes:

  • The Xbox Hotfix is intended to address the persistent stability issues that have been frequent since the start of Chapter 4. Our previous Hotfix was only partially successful in resolving mid-round stability on this platform, but also unintentionally introduced new crashing issues during the loading stage. This was occurring as players joined servers, and could also occur during round transitions to the next map.

That’s basically it. I know it’s annoying that the studio still hasn’t squashed out all the bugs, but at least they’re releasing patches whenever they can to fix some of the most glaring ones.

The Division 2 Episode 1 Release Date Announced, Here’s the List of New Content in It

As previously mentioned in the big The Division 2 Year 1 roadmap, we’ll be getting “episodes” in the game, with the first two set to be released in 2019. Today, Ubisoft has announced The Division 2 Episode 1 release date for July 23 for all Year 1 pass holders, while everyone else will get it on July 30!

Called “Episode 1 – D.C. Outskirts: Expeditions,” players will take the fight outside the streets of Washington DC! Players can expect new locations to explore, new Expeditions and lots more.

  • Two New Main Missions
    • Camp White Oak: Division Agents stage a well-planned attack into the presidential compound, as they seek to bring the now-traitor President Andrew Ellis to justice.
    • Manning National Zoo: Emeline Shaw, leader of the Outcasts, fled after her defeat in D.C. and is now held up at the Zoo regaining strength. Agents are on the hunt to eliminate Shaw, nipping the Outcasts’ reawakening in the bud.
  • New experience: Expeditions
    • In this new experience, players enter Kenly College, where contact has been lost with a military convoy full of vital supplies. When they receive what appears to be a final broadcast, they form an expedition to find any surviving members in need of rescue. Expeditions will be split in three different wings for players to complete. Each wing will have a specific theme and tone, to be released on a week-by-week basis. Completing all three wings grants access to an exclusive treasure room full of rewards.
  • New Weapons and Gear: Players can obtain:
    • One exotic weapon: Diamondback Rifle
    • One exotic gear: BTSU Datagloves
    • Two weapons: Stoner LMG and Carbine 7
  • Classified Assignments: Agents can take on two new classified assignments in Washington’s Central Aquarium and NSA Site B13 (Exclusive only to Year 1 Pass holders).

In addition to those new stuff being added by Ubisoft, Episode 1 will also bring changes based on player feedback:

  • New Discovery Difficulty setting for the “Operation Dark Hours” Raid
    • The new Discovery Difficulty, along with its corresponding matchmaking option, will allow more players to experience The Division 2 in its entirety. While Operation Dark Hours Exotic loot remains exclusive to the Normal difficulty, Agents playing the Discovery Difficulty can expect a variety of great rewards, while training for the Normal Difficulty.
  • Crafting improvements
    • Players can now craft their gear up until Gear Score 500 and share blueprints across characters (available after reaching World Tier 1). Additionally, crafted weapons can now be recalibrated.
  • Weapons balancing and skills buff.
    • As part of the ongoing updates to answer community feedback, awaited balance and buffs will be added to the next title update. This update will include an overhaul of Skills, as each Skill power will be fine-tuned, adding more to agents’ build.

Once the game update is out, we’ll let people know. There’s also a State of the Game today, and we’ll summarize the latest info from it within the day.

Nintendo Switch Lite Release Date Set for Sept. 20 and Will Cost $199, Here’s All the Info You Need to Know

Today, Nintendo has announced a new Nintendo Switch iteration in the Nintendo Switch Lite. This one is focused more on handheld play, and as one can expect, has a few hardware differences with the original Switch. For those interested, the Nintendo Switch Lite release date has been marked for September 20, 2019, and will cost $199.

Check out our first look at the new Nintendo Switch Lite below.

As for actual details, the biggest difference this time around is that the Joy-Con detachable controllers will be built into the console and can’t be removed. It also won’t be able to output into any TV like the original Switch. It’ll feature a 5.5-inch 720p screen (again, can’t be docked), the non-detachable Joy-Cons, 20-30 percent battery life, no rumble, and won’t be compatible with the Nintendo Labo.

At launch, there will be three colors to choose from: yellow, grey, and turquoise.

Full Nintendo Switch Lite product specs:

If you already have a Nintendo Switch, there’s really no reason to buy a Switch Lite unless you want/need a second Nintendo Switch unit and you’re going to play it in handheld mode. Now if you’re unsure which version to get, check out the side by side comparison between the Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite:

For those who play their Switch in portable mode all the time, and want another unit so they can leave the other one in docked mode permanently, this might be the perfect solution.

Fallout 76 Update 1.22 Patch Notes, File Sizes and More Revealed

Those who are playing Fallout 76, you might have noticed that a new patch has been released for the online game. While that might be the case, some of you might be wondering why we haven’t reported on it, or why there isn’t any patch notes making the rounds. Well, it seems the Fallout 76 update 1.22 patch notes aren’t known since, well, there aren’t any!

Yes, we’re not yanking your chain. While the download is 2.4GB, Bethesda mentions that this update is for backend adjustments to the Atomic Shop, and will not have actual patch notes.

Please note: This update is to make some backend adjustments to the Atomic Shop and therefore will not include patch notes. You can refer to our latest Inside the Vault for details on Patch 11 – coming later this month.

On PC (which is at just 850MB) though, a fix for “certain Atomic Shop craftable outfits and C.A.M.P. items were not displaying correctly” has been rolled out, which will be made available to consoles in a later patch.

Given how the Atomic Shop is the only thing touched in this Fallout 76 update (that Bethesda has mentioned), you can check out the big changes made in the previous update right here.

Report: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Captain Price Skin Being Offered as a Modern Warfare Pre-Order Bonus

While we already know that this year’s Call of Duty — Call of Duty: Modern Warfare — will be a soft reboot of sorts for the Modern Warfare saga, it seems there’s a spillover marketing/advertising of some kind that’s happening now between this year’s COD, and last year’s COD game, Black Ops 4.

If you go to the Black Ops 4 in-game store and check the “Modern Warfare” tab. you’ll be greeted with choices on which Modern Warfare edition you might want to pre-order. Well, one of these choices give a Black Ops 4 Captain Price pre-order skin that you can use in Blackout! If you pre-order Modern Warfare!

And in case it gets pulled, someone on Twitter also captured on video:

Will that be enough for some people to pre-order Modern Warfare? Well, given how some people spend thousands of dollars on gun skins, I wouldn’t put it past these same people to spend money just for a Blackout character skin. Of course, there’s no official mention of this yet, and Activision hasn’t announced this marketing ploy of theirs officially. I gather, they’ll announce it soon once the marketing for Modern Warfare ramps up.

In other Call of Duty news, the Black Ops 4 Operation Apocalypse Z is now live on PS4, and here’s the patch notes to see all the changes made, and new content added.

Destiny 2 Bad Juju Returns and Here’s How to Unlock It

The latest Destiny 2 update is out, bringing with it a large number of changes and content drop including the much awaited Moment of Triumph 2019 event. Although many knew what to expect from this update, one surprise introduction or reintroduction in the classic exotic weapon from Destiny 1, the Bad Juju. Yes, the Destiny 2 Bad Juju returns! And we’re here to help you get it.

Unlocking the Bad Juju is actually pretty easy compared to past Exotic Weapon quest lines, which you can see in the steps below thanks to Reddit user Harmonicragex.

Destiny 2 Bad Juju How To Unlock

Step 1: On the Nessus, Visit Werner and open the chest next to him. This will give you a quest (Invitation from the Emperor) prompting you to head towards the Tribute Hall, which is on the Leviathan.

Step 2: Once on the Leviathan, accept one of the dailey bounties offered by Visage of Calus, whichever one you find easier it doesn’t matter as they all unlock the next step in the questline (Golden Warrior).

Step 3: Speak to Calus and then in Tribute Hall fill the statue slots with tributes. You’ll need a total of 18 tributes, which you can earn by completing Triumph offered or by purchasing them off the Visage of Calus with planetary consumables, glimmer, legendary shards or bright dust.  Either way is time consuming if you don’t have the required amount of tributes or the resources to buy them from the Visage of Calus.

Step 4: Once that step is done, speak with the Visage again and he will have the final quest line to reclaim the Bad Juju titled “The Other Side” It’s a really easy quest that only requires a light level of 350, and luckily it isn’t a timed quest like other exotics have been prior. Again it’s a very easy quest to complete, and can even be done solo. You’ll encounter a lot of Taken enemies and eventually the boss at the end, but it should be no problem if you are geared correctly. Once this quest line is done you are all set, head back to the Tribute Hall and receive your reward. The exotic Pulse Rifle Bad Juju will be unlocked and ready to be used at your disposal.

Destiny 2 Bad Juju Catalyst

Additionally, if you want (we’re you do) you can upgrade the weapon to a Masterwork via purchasing the Bad Juju Catalyst from the Visage of Calus. This will require you to have a total of 45 tributes placed, so prepare for a grind from completing daily bounties. And that’s all there is to it. Make sure you read up on the latest patch that came out today and if you’ve been living under a rock the latest Moment of Triumph is also live for the 2019 year so get out there Guardian and earn some new rewards.

Crash Team Racing Update 1.06 Zips Out on PS4, Here’s the Known Fixes So Far

It seems Beenox loves rolling out patches for Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled. While we got two patches for the game last week, a new Crash Team Racing update 1.06 title update has been released, and same as last time, no actual patch notes have been made available, either.

For now, the Crash Team Racing update 1.06 patch lists “bug fixes” as the patch notes, and nothing more. Thankfully, the fine folks at Reddit have verified some of the fixes. Clocking in at just 65MB, Crash Team Racing update 1.06 fixes the Thunder Struck skip exploit as players will now encounter an invisible wall. In addition to that, the PS4 save corruption issue has allegedly been resolved according to multiple users.

Given the file size, that’s all we know so far, and chances are, there’s not a lot of changes done as well. If you’re curious what the big changes are from last week, head on over here to read up on the big update.

If you’re on the fence whether to pick it up, head on over to our Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled review and see why we gave it an 8.5/10

Batman Arkham Collection Coming September 6, Here’s What’ll Be in It

If you haven’t played any of the Batman Arkham games made by Rocksteady Studios, you’ll want to pick this bad boy up! Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (or more commonly known now as WB Games), is releasing what it calls the Batman Arkham Collection on September 6, 2019!

This Batman Arkham Collection will include all the Rocksteady-developed Batman games which include: Batman Arkham Asylum, Batman Arkham City, Batman Arkham Knight, and all the three games’ DLCs. Yes, Batman: Arkham Origins, which was developed by Warner Bros. Montreal is obviously not included. Check out the box art and steelbook case below.

Also included (as can be seen in the packaging) is the Earth 2 Dark Knight skin as a freebie. For now, it seems the Batman Arkham Collection is only set to be released in the UK, though the chances of it being out in the US are very high, but it’s not confirmed just yet.

Hopefully, this means that we’ll be seeing Rocksteady’s long-in-development game finally announced. If not, well, just replay their past games and remember talented they are.

While we just got a new patch for Battlefield 5 last week that was for technical fixes, it seems it didn’t do enough as DICE is scheduling the Battlefield 5 next update to hit this week assuming it passes certification!

This was revealed by the studio over on Reddit, where this week’s planned Battlefield 5 announcements and events were listed. DICE’s plans are for the Battlefield 5 next update patch notes to be released Wednesday, with the actual patch rolled out on Thursday — again, this is with the assumption that certification will be granted.

Notes & Addendums

Xbox One crashing has increased. What’s happening?

  • We’re working on deploying Hotfix 1.2 this week to address the stability issues affecting Xbox One players.

What about Invisible Soldier Skins and Al Sundan on Conquest?

  • These continue to be top priorities the team is working on. We’ll keep you posted as we get updates from the team.

For those not familiar with what “certification” means in this context, studios need to submit patches and game updates to Sony and Microsoft, and the hardware makers must certify first that they are safe to be rolled out and won’t cause harm to the console, etc.

Reaper is a heavily armed robotic Specialist that utilizes explosive firepower to gain the upper hand. Reaper’s Special Issue Weaponry is the Scythe – a high-damage machine gun with explosive rounds and a fast fire rate that also inflicts a suppression status effect to nearby enemies. Reaper’s Special Issue Equipment, the Radar Shroud, is a deployable jamming device that conceals an area on enemy mini-maps. This equipment allows Reaper and his teammates to operate undetected within the Shroud’s radius. Reaper is available at Tier 1 of the Operation, and will be playable in Multiplayer once unlocked.

New Multiplayer weapons in the Black Market this Operation include:

  • Reaver C86: A semi-auto crossbow that kills on impact.
  • Argus: A precision lever-action shotgun returning from Black Ops III.
  • Backhander: A disembodied zombie arm that functions as a one-hit kill melee weapon.

New Black Market Gear:

The Operation Contraband stream will contain 40 predefined Tiers lasting through the first half of the Operation, followed by a new stream to cover the second half. The Contraband stream will also include an earnable Ultra Weapon Bribe. Ultra Weapon Bribes guarantee one new ranged Black Market weapon and two Reserve Cases. If you already own a variant of all Black Market weapons, Ultra Weapon Bribes will award an additional Black Market weapon variant.

In addition to new weapons, the Black Market holds new zombies-themed epic character outfits, new MKII weapons, Legendary weapon camos, and more. Here’s an overview of all the goods in Operation Apocalypse Z:

  • 40 Tiers: Preview all the earnable rewards in the first half of the Operation on day one.
  • New Specialist: Reaper is available at Tier 1 and playable in Multiplayer and Blackout once unlocked.
  • New Black Market Weapons: The Argus shotgun, Reaver C86 semi-auto Crossbow, and Backhander melee weapon.
  • New Blackout Characters: Russman, M. Shadows, and Danny Trejo.
  • New MK II Weapons: Available in Reserves, find MKII Weapons for the Mog 12, Saug 9mm, and Vendetta.
  • New Mastercrafts: The “Wundergewehr 115” for the Koshka is available at Tier 20 of the Contraband stream and the “Imaginator” for the Daemon 3XB is in Reserves. If the “Imaginator” is acquired by a player who doesn’t own the Daemon 3XB, it will serve as a functional ranged weapon, effectively adding the Daemon 3XB to the player’s Armory.
  • New Weapon Camos: The green “Derezzed”, post-apocalypse dust “Smoke Blast”, and the out-of-this-world ‘Time Out’ camo.
  • New Specialist Outfits: Zombies-inspired Specialist’s outfits include “The Prepper” for Spectre, “The Cheerleader” for Outrider, and “The Waitress” for Zero amongst others. Also, new Legendary outfits like “Fossil” for Firebreak, “Ritual” for Prophet, and more can be found in the Contraband stream and in Reserves.
  • New Weapon Charms: Available in Reserves, equip the latest Weapon Charms before you head into battle like “Pillow Talk”, “Just Peachy”, and “Byte Me”.
  • New Death Effects: Add something extra when you take down enemies with new Death Effects – “Black Hole” and “Magma”.
  • New Gestures: Bust a move with new gestures “Breakin’ For Beats” and “Nooice”.
  • New Jump Pack: Equip the “Night Terror” jump pack to drop into Blackout in epic Zombies fashion.
  • Blackjacks’ Reserves: Operation Apocalypse Z Reserve items include the Vendetta MKII, Argus, M. Shadows, Specialist outfits such as Battery’s “Kaleidoscope”, and more.

For Black Ops Pass owners, there will be three multiplayer maps and a new Zombie experience coming for you. Same as before, a dedicated Map Pack Moshpit will be rolled out as one of the featured playlists, and the maps will be part of the regular rotation in Core and Hardcore.
