Mortal Kombat 11 Review – Kombat Kontinues

I’ve been a huge fan of Mortal Kombat since the original arcade release. Growing up and having followed it over the years and various iterations has been great. We have seen some great entries in the franchise since as the team has grown and improved. We have also seen a few missteps as well, but from every mistake comes growth.  So with MK finally hitting its 11th entry in the series, is there another success from Ed Boon and NetherRealm Studios? I’d say that’s mostly a huge yes.

The Story Kontinues…

Once again the combatants of Earth find themselves in the middle of a war, this time involving time. A evil villain known as Kronika has come to change the balance. In doing so we get a story that is told extremely well with plenty of surprises. This is one of the best story modes in any fighting game yet and shows NetherRealm studios are experts at this point. No major spoilers from this review, but it’s a fantastic experience that will last around six hours for most.

Mortal Kombat has always made itself known as THE bloody fighter to play. Many others have tried to imitate it, but nothing really compares. Though it hasn’t always been known for having the smoothest fighting system either.  Over the years this has been changing though. Tracing back from Mk1, MK4, to Deadly Alliance, and to what we have in MK 11, it’s the best fighting the franchise has ever seen. That still comes with the dial-in type combos. If players find this type of combat aggravating, I don’t think there will be a huge change in that consensus.

Related Mortal Kombat 11 Reading:

Once again we get a huge roster filled with fan favorites and newcomers. Featuring a huge assortment of fighting styles and types, there is a character for everyone. This bevy of fighters bleeds into the rest of the game also featuring a wide assortment of modes to play.  Story, Versus, Arcade ladders, Tower of Time, and the Krypt all offer tons of content to experience and unlock along with gear, loot, and extras.

Story mode details the latest plotline of MK 11, while Arcade ladders provide a more simply fighting lineup as per the usually arcade cabinets.  Towers of Time, is a unique mode with lots of challenging combat scenarios. The Krypt offers a third-person exploration on Shang Tsung Island, with traps and other interesting traversal mechanics. There are even minor puzzles here. This mode is honestly refreshing as a great break between battles. It’s unfortunate that both it and the Towers of Time are locked behind an always online connection. The rewards and gear require a connection which is also disappointing. It’s understandable to require online connection for fighting random folks and friends online.  When it comes to single-player aspects, it’s just a shame they went down this route, especially for the portable Nintendo Switch version.

Test Your Might

What all these modes have in common is in-game currency that is earned. Between the various modes, performing moves, fatalities, you will see various currencies pop up seemingly everywhere Honestly it’s a bit overwhelming at times and often reminded me of playing a free-to-play mobile title. It’s something I can overlook, but something feels a bit off about it, if I’m being honest.

As far as combat mechanics go, players that experienced MK 9 and 10 will be right at home. If it’s not broken why fix it? While the core combat does feel like a better re-iteration of the prior two releases, it still feels similar in many ways. We also now get more variation in what our fighters can be equipped with. Special abilities can be selected also. The name of the game is variation and MK 11 provides it in bloody chunks everywhere. Fatal Blows are a return of sorts and as nasty as ever seeing character perform moves that would have been considered fatalities in other games. The prior meter for various counters and X-ray moves has been change to two meters that are kept for offensive and defensive moves. All considering there is a ton of information and gameplay mechanics to consider. Luckily there is a very robust tutorial mode that is a great help.

Finish Him!

MK11 offers a huge abundance of content so much that most players will be coming back for months to unlock more gear and engage with all the various mode. That said, while MK 11 does so much right, once again a few missteps come into play.

At launch, the game was a bit grind heavy in regards to getting currency for unlocks. The Towers of Time ladders were also proving to be a bit too difficult and cheap. Both of these issues have been alleviated with a recent update, so these concerns are far less troubling than they were a week ago. Good on them for making those changes. The online requirement as mentioned before still just seems really trivial. I understand most folks have internet today, but if for some reason a player not having it (an active ‘net connection) means being locked out of quite a bit of content unfortunately.

WINNER!

MK 11 is a great return for the franchise and could be considered one of the best releases in the franchise’s history. The story beats are fantastic, the visuals are wonderful, and the fatalities are some of the most vivid, creative, and nastiest versions we have seen. Combat continues to improve upon the formula and feels better than ever. The amount of quality content here is absolutely mind blowing at times, with only those small caveats mentioned dinging the experience. MK 11 returns in fine form and the future of the series continues to stay in good hands.

Overall score: 8.5

Pros:

  • Great story and nods
  • Fantastic Visuals
  • Tons of content/modes

Cons:

  • Online requirement for modes and gear
  • Initial currency grind
  • Too much currency types

Activision Testing New Ways for Players to “Participate” in In-Game Content in Black Ops 4 and in Future Titles

While Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is a solid game, the way microtransactions is handled in the game leaves a lot to be desired. Not only is the Black Market back, but there were instances where it seemed like Treyarch was testing just how much they can get away with before players start complaining and fighting back.

Well, it seems like there’s a good reason for that, and based on Activision’s statement, testing the player is just what they were doing. In yesterday’s Activision earnings call, Activision executive Collister Johnson mentioned how the publisher was continuing to re-iterate in-game features and offerings, and testing “new ways for players to participate in in-game content,” not only for Black Ops 4, but for “future titles” as well.

Call of Duty in-game net bookings was lower year-over-year, but the team continues to iterate around in-game features and offerings within Black Ops 4, testing new ways for players to participate in in-game content both for that game and for future titles. – Collister Johnson, President & Chief Operating Officer of Activsion

Yep, that statement seems like Activision is testing the waters for what can and cannot work in regards to Call of Duty 2019 microtransactions and beyond, no? Given Treyarch’s recent roll out of Death Effects, gun charms and the like are locked to specific guns, which is a first for any Call of Duty title (meaning cosmetics have to be earned per gun), I gather, Black Ops 4 players are part of the testing pool once again.

Are you OK with Activision’s testing of how players will “participate” in in-game content? What direction should the publisher take on this when it comes to Call of Duty 2019? Sound off and let us know in the comments below.

Battlefield 5 Upcoming Weapons, New Game Modes (Grand Battlefield & Squad CQ Tanks) Unearthed

With DICE releasing a new Battlefield 5 patch a few days ago, it’s expected that we’ll be getting a ton of new unannounced info to go along with it, given that’s what’s been happening the past few times. Well, today, a new slate of Battlefield 5 upcoming weapons, a bunch of new and interesting game modes, and more have been unearthed via the game files.

Once again, Battlefield 5 dataminer temporyal is on the case! This time, there’s a bunch of new weapons, and more that should be made available in the game by DICE soon.

New Weapons & Vehicles

Jungle Carbine (alternatively “Rifle No. 5 Mk I” or “Lee Enfield No. 5”)

Bolt Action Rifle

The Rifle No. 5 Mk I, was a derivative of the British Lee–Enfield No. 4 Mk I, designed in response to a requirement for a shorter, lighter, rifle for airborne forces in Europe. However most of its operational use was in post-war colonial campaigns such as the Malayan emergency – where it gained its common nickname of the “Jungle Carbine”. (Wikipedia)

Ithaca Model 37 Stakeout

Shotgun (5v5 Competitive)

Note: A new variant of the previously data mined “Model 37” shotgun. It seems a bit out of place for WWII as far as I can tell from my short Google research but I am no weapon expert so feel free to add info/corrections! (Picture source: “Crossfire”)

Katana

Melee Weapon

Historically, katana were one of the traditionally made Japanese swords that were used by the samurai of ancient and feudal Japan. The katana is characterized by its distinctive appearance: a curved, single-edged blade with a circular or squared guard and long grip to accommodate two hands. (Wikipedia)

Smaller additions:

  • Dodge Scout Car (Chapter 5 / no further details)
  • Dedicated Game Logic for “Pacific Dogfighting” (Chapter 5 / no further details)
  • Visual “Sulis” variations for existing vehicles (Firestorm)
  • JU52 Cockpit (probably for Grand Operations / Airborne)

5v5 Competitive

General info:

  • Sprint is limited so you can’t just run around at full speed all the time Edit: Drunkkz3 gave an update on Twitter about this and it doesn’t seem to happen so right now this was added to the game without any further reason 😉 Thanks u/DANNYonPC for posting this into the comments and even doing a single new reddit post to warn everybody – safety first!
  • Logic for impaired hearing and sight (caused by Flashbangs for example)
  • A captain (one per team) can revive squad members (like medics)
  • Unique commando skins/parts for weapons (I found for example a rear sight for the Lee Enfield No. 4 of “legendary” quality)

The 5v5 mode will feature a ranking system:

  • Unranked
  • Bronze I-III
  • Silver I-III
  • Gold I-III
  • Sapphire I-III
  • Diamond I-III

Minor Gadget Updates

  • RMN-50: Hold the fire button to cook the grenade in the barrel, causing it to explode in the air.
  • RECON PLANE: The Recon Plane will scout all enemies in the direction you’re facing.
  • HIGH ALTITUDE RECONNAISSANCE: Spots both teams. No further details.

Other Game Modes

Grand Battlefield (internal name, 8v8, 3 rounds per map)

A new “meta” game mode which is a bit of mystery to me. Two teams (8v8) play three rounds against each other, the only available map right now is Devastation and it features some kind of tournament logic.

It uses the following game modes:

  • Domination
  • Frontlines (which will introduce MComs as objectives)
  • Defuse
  • Team Deathmatch

Squad Conquest Tanks

8v8 mode and will probably launch under the name of “Tank Superiority” (previously data mined).

Official description: “Tanks against tanks in all out war: Hold the majority of the flags and eliminate enemy tanks to win.”

Upcoming Maps for Squad Conquest

  • Devastation
  • Fjell
  • Narvik

Outpost

Consists of two phases (recruitment and elimination) and seem to feature a time based shrinking combat zone.

  • Recruitment phase: Build and defend Radio Towers to receive requisition and reruits for the final phase of the game mode. Enemy Radio Towers can be destroyed. Get close and interact to arm bombs or use anti-tank explosives and artillery to damage their steel structure.
  • Elimination phase: Kill enemies to deplete their recruits. Stay alive and revive your team mates to retain yours. First team to kill all enemy recruits wins the battle.

New Custom Map Rotation: Tank Battles

Tank Battles is a tanks-focused custom map rotation with shorter tank respawn timers, consisting of Conquest and Breakthrough played on large maps.

Wow! That’s a lot of new stuff, no? With the 5v5 mode and the “Grand Battlefield” mode, it seems DICE might be making a push at the competitive scene big time. Same as always, these leaks are in no way confirmed, and as such, should be taken with a grain of salt.

In other Battlefield 5 news, DICE has announced that a new visibility update will be released in late May, and here’s a preview of how it will change.

Activision: Call of Duty 2019 Will Bring “Game-Changing Experiences”

While Activision is mysteriously still silent about this year’s Call of Duty, persistent rumors have pointed it out to be the next chapter in the Modern Warfare saga. Just last month, American athletes were given access to test the game out in a private event, though there’s no official announcement just yet.

In yesterday’s earnings call, Activision still didn’t refer to this year’s Call of Duty using its official title, rather using terms like “Call of Duty 2019,” or “new Call of Duty” game when addressing it to financial analysts. In talking about the game, Activision exec Collister Johnson didn’t give any specific details, but mentioned that Call of Duty 2019 will have “game-changing experiences” to its fans, which is a big claim to say.

We also recognize that we need to do even more to maintain the breadth of our Call of Duty player base beyond the launch quarters and the Call of Duty team is hard at work on that for this fall’s big content release excitement for which is incredibly high around the organization.

We expect that both the launch and post-launch content will bring game-changing experiences to our fans.

What could this mean? We already know that Call of Duty 2019 will have a single-player campaign and a co-op mode. Could this mean that there’s something more to it than that? Or is Johnson referring to the multiplayer and other modes as being something new that will be “game-changing?” Your guess is as good as mine at this point/

With E3 set to take place next month, this year’s Call of Duty should be revealed very, very soon.

Apex Legends Cheater and Spammers Update Given by Respawn, Over 700K Accounts Banned

If you’re an Apex Legends player on PC, chances are you’ve encountered your fair share of cheaters. While Respawn has commented on this before, there’s still a lot of work left to be done. Today, Respawn has given an Apex Legends cheaters update.

Over on the game’s subreddit, Community Manager Jay Frechette has given an update regarding the game’s cheater situation.

We’ve been working closely with key experts across EA including: EA Security and Fraud, the Origin teams, our fellow developers at DICE, FIFA, and Capital Games, in addition to Easy-Anti-Cheat. While we’ve already rolled out several updates (and will be continually doing so for the foreseeable future), others will take time to fully implement. While we can’t share details on what we’re doing so as to not give a head’s up to the cheat makers, what we can say is that we’re attacking this from every angle, from improvements to detecting cheaters, bolstering resources and tools, to improving processes and other sneaky things to combat sellers and cheaters. We can share some high level stats of progress that’s been made:

  • The recently added in-game reporting tool has had a big impact on discovering new cheats, including previously undetectable cheats that are now being found automatically via EAC
  • Total bans are now at 770K players
  • We have blocked over 300K account creations
  • We have banned over 4,000 cheat seller accounts (spammers) in the last 20 days
  • Total affected matches on PC impacted by cheaters or spammers has been reduced by over half in the last month due to recent efforts

Respawn states that they’ll have an update next regarding one of the issues mentioned by the studio last week. While there will always be scumbag cheaters in online multiplayer games, at least Respawn isn’t stopping from blocking these people from ruining the fun.

Speaking of which, check out this blow by blow account of an Apex Legends cheater getting banned repeatedly.

Battlefield 5 Visibility Update Coming This May, Here’s What the Changes Will Look Like

If you’ve found it a bit hard to make out enemies in Battlefield 5, DICE’s latest Community Broadcast is just the thing for you. In a new post by DICE Community Manager Jeff Braddock communicated that a new Battlefield 5 visibility update is hitting late May.

According to DICE,  this new Battlefield 5 visibility update will make soldier visibility easier in the game “while maintaining a believable artistic and gameplay balance.” DICE is striving to create a balance between a realistic soldier outline, while staying true to the game’s artistic direction.

The new system is capable of making soldiers properly visible in very dark and very bright environments, and allows for more consistent visibility across all environmental situations.

The new system also better conserves the colors of a soldier’s uniform to prevent very dark or very bright uniforms from having an unintended gameplay advantage. This doesn’t mean your soldier’s uniform skins don’t matter.

You’ll still want to ensure the camouflage you use matches the environment (greens for maps like Twisted Steel, tans and yellows for maps like Hamada) as this will still be the best choice. Previously, the darker uniforms were universally superior, creating an advantage for those that chose them.

According to DICE, the changes being made to player visibility are all based on feedback they’ve been getting from the community. Now, before anyone reacts, I suggest giving this new Battlefield 5 visibility update a go first and maybe give it some proper game time before passing judgement.

Speaking of feedback, DICE has released a survey which you should answer if you want to help shape how Battlefield 5 plays.

Borderlands 3 Story Length to Be at 30 Hours “If You Beeline It”

If you’ve already seen the gameplay footage regarding Borderlands 3 and wondered how long you and your buddies will take to finish the game’s main campaign, the short answer is: a long time. How long is long? Try 30 hours long for the Borderlands 3 story length!

This was confirmed by Borderlands 3 Creative Director Paul Sage, who also mentions that the 30-hour playthrough time is for those who “beeline through it.” In Sage’s own words, “If you beeline it through, and I mean beelining it through, it might take you 30 hours to complete the main story.”

Mind you, the chances of someone just playing through a Borderlands game and not touching any of the side missions, trying out different builds, weapons, etc., is almost impossible. Part of the game’s charm is finding new loot and weapons to use, and to make your character be as badass as possible.

If you factor those in, and the fact that players will be able to check out different planets, then I suspect there’s a very good chance the Borderlands 3 story length for the average person (those not rushing through it) will run to at least 40-50 hours or even more.

Epic Games Purchase of Rocket League Studio Leaves Steam Status in Doubt

Fortnite developers Epic Games announced today it has completed the purchase of Rocket League creators Psyonix. What that means for the future of Rocket League is anyone’s guess.

Pysonix is, unsurprisingly claiming this is nothing but good news. In an official release from the company, it says the acquisition by Epic simply means the developers will be able to “serve our community in even bigger and better ways.” The company added that the purchase will not have any immediate changes of any kind.

One other tidbit added in the release has people wondering if Rocket League could eventually be getting pulled from Steam. “In the long-term, we expect to bring Rocket League to the Epic Games store and to leverage our new relationship to grow the game in ways we couldn’t do on our own before.” It’s the comment about the Epic Games store that stands out.

That comment, as well as what Variety was told by Pysonix makes it appear as though there will come a time when the game isn’t available for purchase on Steam. The company told Variety that it will continue to support existing Rocket League users on Steam, meaning patches and DLC. It would not say whether or not the title would remain on sale at that online store.

That can’t be considered great news for those users who were just starting to realize the game’s full potential for hours of fun thanks to crossplay support that became fully functional in January. Of course, users should still be able to enjoy the crossplay feature, they would just need to download another PC client should Epic Store exclusivity come to pass.

To some degree, the absorption of Rocket League by the Fortnite devs was a foregone conclusion. The game was built using Epic’s Unreal Engine.

Mortal Kombat 11 Glitch Allows You to Skip One of the End Game Grinds, Here’s How

We’ve already reported on how much of a grind Mortal Kombat 11’s modes are, and while NetherRealm has amended it with a recent patch, there’s still a fair amount of grind in the game. If you’re hoping for a way to skip one of Mortal Kombat 11’s end game grinds, you’re in luck! Having said that, this Mortal Kombat 11 glitch is a glitch, and as such, will most likely be patched out soon.

Watch the video below to see it in action, and we have the step by step instructions for this Mortal Kombat 11 glitch below as well.

What this basically does is, it lets you skip collecting the 10,000 soul fragments for the amulet that you use in that area of the Krypt! To get to this area, you need to unlock the Dragon Amulet door that’s located near the forging area. once you’ve unlocked it, you will see the area at the bottom of the stairs.

Step by step guide:

  • Position yourself so that the prompt of pulling the lever shows up at the bottom of the screen
  • Once you’ve positioned correctly, you have to quickly look at the slot where Shinnok’s amulet is placed and press X (A on Xbox One)
  • Once it works, you’ll see your character insert something in the puzzle
  • It might take a few tries but as you can see in the video, it works

Test it out, and let us know if it works for you.

Stay tuned to our Mortal Kombat 11 review hitting the site soon.

It’s a new week, and that means a new set of Battlefield 5 weekly Challenges (Trial by Fire week #6) are available! For the Battlefield 5 Challenges for the week, there’s a bunch of stuff connected to Squad Conquest, Combined Arms, and Firestorm!

Thankfully, the Battlefield 5 weekly reward is worth it! Players who complete this week’s “storyline” will be rewarded with the M9/128 Tromboncino bolt-action Carbine for the Medic class (pictured above).

Top RPG Games for Low-End PCs

If your PC has stopped coping with new demanding video games, and you still want to play, it is worth paying attention to time-tested RPG games for low-end PCs. Especially since most of them, although can’t boast good graphics, still are quality games that are not inferior to many modern projects.

More than that, old is far not always worse than new and sometimes it’s best to stick to the cult classics than try your chances with suspicious fresh games.  Anyway, here’s my list of 15 times tested RPGs to make your days more enjoyable.

  1. TITAN QUEST

A Diabloid with a large number of different locations, co-op, and a plot immersing in the myths of Ancient Greece, Egypt, East, and Scandinavia. A role-playing system that allows developing your main character flexibly in several directions. The Titan Quest will be a great fun experience if you’re tired of Diablo walkthrough, but the thirst for reckless enemy enchantments still remains.

By the way, this RPG will be suitable not only for slow PCs but also will run on modern systems without any tambourine dances: the developers have re-released an adapted for the high-performance PC version with high-res display support, redeveloped a gameplay balance and fixed various bugs and glitches.

  1. SACRED SERIES

Popular fantasy series, with brave heroes and the magical world of Ankara that you will have to save (surprise). It has co-op, a huge map, unusual character classes (Seraphim, Vampiress, and Gladiator with the appropriate skills), and later – the opportunity to abandon the Good and go to the Dark side.

The Sacred series consists of three parts (plus a few add-ons and spin-offs), but only the first two deserve attention. The third edition of the franchise was developed by another studio and is a rather boring slasher, losing as a competitor in the genre.

  1. BALDUR’S GATE SERIES

А famous BioWare dilogy that opened a path for Canadian guys to the mighty Game Dev. Baldur`s Gate unfolds in the popular Forgotten Realms Universe, and game mechanics are built on modified AD&D system basis. Here players will travel in the wide world with many adventures and battles.

Baldur`s Gate is remembered for its carefully designed gameplay, interesting fellow players (ranger Minsc and his Miniature Giant Space Hamster Boo were included in the Top 50 Greatest PC Game Characters according to Empire magazine), as well as a fascinating plot with unusual plot twists. Like Titan Quest, the series has been re-released for modern gaming systems.

  1. DEUS EX

Action RPG in cyberpunk setting which traces the well-known conspiracy theories about a secret world government, Illuminati, and alien technologies.

Here you will play as a guy equipped with nano-augmentation which provides unique abilities. With their help, agent JC Denton can become invisible, speed up, lift heavy objects, restore health and much more. A wide range of skills allows players to use different gaming tactics: straightforward, stealth, or hack into security systems. The game has received several sequels and prequels for gaming computers of different capacities, including modern powerful MS.

  1. VAMPIRE: THE MASQUERADE – BLOODLINES

Unfortunately, the cult RPG about vampires was released unfinished, failed in sales and buried its creators, Troika Games for quite a long time. However, the fans have released a lot of patches and mods which fixed bugs and even added some cut content. They have not forgotten and were waiting for a great comeback. And maybe this is the reason why we are getting fresh Bloodlines 2 from its original creators early next year.

The secret of the everlasting public love lies in the great atmosphere, unusual setting (vampires in modern times), interesting characters and a detailed plot filled with unexpected turns.

  1. ARCANUM: OF STEAMWORKS AND MAGICK OBSCURA

One of the best old school RPGs, a wonderful game in a steampunk setting that tells about a world where magic and technology are mixed in a bizarre symbiosis. Here is where the journey of the main character begins. He, by the will of fate, becomes the one able to stop the end of the world. He will have to put together a team of comrades-in-arms and fight dangerous evil that threatens the entire Arcanum.

The project is thrilling with its exciting story, original combat system which allows you to combine step-by-step battles and real-time fights, as well as setting, in which characters use both magic and weapons.

  1. NEVERWINTER NIGHTS SERIES

Hello again, BioWare! The Neverwinter Nights mechanism is based on the D&D roleplay system which means character customization, a wide class choice, dice rolls to determine the probability of the outcome of events. The plot, as always, is stuffed with epic: here we have powerful artifacts discoveries, dragons, and saving the world.

The second part of the series was developed by Obsidian studio, and it turned out not that impressive. But still worthy of attention: an interesting story, variety-filled gameplay pleases with dynamics.

  1. STAR WARS SERIES: KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC

Star Wars Universe dilogy (i.e., trilogy, including 2011 MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic). However, Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker will not be found here: KotOR unfolds 4000 years before the events described in the movies which “untied the developers’ hands”, allowing to create an original script.

The Star Wars: The Old Republic games attract with an unusual plot (unexpected 5th-episode-like twists included), well-designed combat and role-playing systems, interesting companions (no one will ever forget the charming HK-47 droid), as well as the opportunity to learn the secrets of The Force and go to the Dark Side.

  1. DARK MESSIAH OF MIGHT AND MAGIC

Wonderful Action RPG from the Arkane (Dishonored). The game combines fencing, archery, magic spells, and also fully uses the Source Engine: a local physical model allows you to through enemies over the edge, crush heavy objects and tear down loose structures. Level design, in turn, makes it possible to choose a walkthrough style: go straightforward or use secret corridors to bypass your opponents.

The action takes place in the Might and Magic Universe, and the plot is full of references to the 5th part of Heroes of Might and Magic. Players will take part in large-scale events, and make a choice between good and evil in the end.

  1. GOTHIC SERIES

The cult series of PC RPGs that gamers remember by the abundance of various gameplay features, high complexity, interesting and quite realistic action, the detailed worlds, as well as a huge number of bugs, many of which, however, allowed performing missions in workarounds.

The franchise has four official games and several add-ons, but only the first two parts (and, with reservations, the third) are worthy of attention. After some issues with the publisher and the loss of the rights, the developers released another series  – the Risen trilogy which is a little or no different from Gothic atmosphere and gameplay. But downloading these games to a low-end PC is no longer possible – you will have to get a more productive system.

  1. FABLE: THE LOST CHAPTERS

A fabulous game with a fascinating plot and an incredible abundance of opportunities. Here everything that the main character does directly affects him. If you do good, the love of citizens and a small nimbus are all yours, while the villain scares people and grows horns. A glutton becomes fat, a warrior with a heavy sword builds muscles, and a drunkard will constantly swing.

More than that, in Fable: The Lost Chapters you can literally live: buy a house, marry, give birth and raise a child. Just do not be surprised if, after long wanderings around the world, your second half will get tired of the constant waiting and want to divorce.

  1. THE ELDER SCROLLS SERIES

The legendary series from Bethesda Game Studios has won numerous awards, gained recognition from millions of players and gave fantasy fans an extraordinary universe with the opportunity to be anyone and do whatever they want.

The first part of the franchise came out back in 1994, but I will not look that far into the past. I recommend two games for a low-end PC: The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Both offer players open world exploration, adventures, and various character classes: the greatest warrior / mage / thief / assassin. In this game, you can even challenge the gods!

  1. THE WITCHER

RPG, based on the literary world of the Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski, has marked the beginning of one of the best game series ever. The Witcher tells the story of – guess who? – the witcher Geralt, highlighting the events that unfold after the plot of the book saga. The main character will have to fight monsters, perform various tasks and make many difficult decisions that may have far-reaching consequences.

Fans of the literary works will meet many familiar characters in The Witcher, visit famous locations and find references to the events described in the books. However, the game has a completely independent story that’s why it will be no less interesting for those who are not familiar with the original source.

  1. DIABLO SERIES

Diablo games are great for PCs of all categories: the first and second parts are for old PCs, the third is for modern. Here, gamers will face endless battles in a dark fantasy setting with the obligatory saving the world.

The first part of the game takes players to the dungeons located under the city of Tristram, where hordes of assorted monsters settled, and Diablo itself dwells at the lowest level. The sequel is more diverse in terms of locations: here you can visit swamps and deserts, clear out gloomy dungeons and even go to Hell. Literally. In addition, Diablo 2 contains cooperative and competitive multiplayer.

  1. FALLOUT SERIES

A legendary franchise that takes us to a post-apocalyptic world that has survived a nuclear war. Here, in the radioactive wastelands, people were able to survive and build a kind of civilization with its laws different from the fabric of modern society.

Fallout games are valuable, first of all, because of their complete freedom of action. From the very first minutes, the player is free to send the main character wherever he/she wants, perform tasks in various ways, use brute force, rely on stealth, or peacefully settle all conflicts using a silver tongue.

The game has an original visual style with mixed post-apocalypse and retro-futurism, a great adventure atmosphere and unique black humor. For low-end PCs, the first and second parts of the franchise will work just fine. Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas can be recommended for average systems, but only the owners of modern PCs can enjoy the graphic beauty of Fallout 4.

BUG FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS

PvE/General Fixes

Guerrilla Mode

We’ve been following the feedback from our community regarding Guerrilla mode at the launch of Special Operation 4. We believe several issues were contributing to the difficulty, including errors with matchmaking and launching sessions without full squads.

Our team has taken care to address those issues, which we hope will help create a more balanced experience in Guerrilla mode.

• Improved Guerrilla mode’s matchmaking process, which launched sessions after a friend joined a player in Matchmaking search before four players were present.
• Fixed an issue in Guerrilla mode where the game would start without forming a full squad in public matchmaking.
• Fixed an issue in Guerrilla mode where the player would not be moved to the lobby after accepting an invitation.
• Fixed an issue in Guerrilla mode where the player would not win the Cosmetic Rewards if they left before the Victory Score screen.
• Fixed an issue in Guerrilla mode where AI teammate’s customization would reset after entering a new session.
• Fixed an issue in Guerrilla mode where you could unequip the mission.
• Fixed an audio issue in Guerrilla mode when the Game Lost Score screen is shown.
• Fixed an issue in Guerrilla mode where vehicles with dead NPCs in them would not despawn at the end of a wave.
• Fixed an issue where the last NPC enemy of Guerrilla mode would despawn immediately after killing him.
• Improved replication issues present in Guerrilla mode during co-op sessions.
• Fixed an issue in Guerrilla mode where a Game Over can be triggered without the timer being displayed.
• Fixed an issue where some skills bonuses could be canceled by changing the difficulty during a Guerrilla mode session.
• Fixed an issue in Guerrilla mode where the shopkeeper’s subtitles and voice over would be cut off due to the ending screen.
• Fixed an issue in Guerrilla mode where enemy alert levels would downgrade to Undetected / Suspicious under certain circumstances.
• Fixed an issue where all weapons and attachments bought in Guerrilla mode appeared as “New” in the main game afterward.
• Fixed an issue preventing to unlock Survivor pants and Survivor shirt cosmetic items in Ghost Mode after winning Guerrilla mode.

All Platforms

• Fixed an issue with the M110 Bullet Drop being too strong.
• Removed the requirement to complete Silent Spade and Snafu missions to unlock the Mission Master trophy.
• Fixed a localization issue where there was no spacing between Continue Campaign text for Asian localizations.
• [SILENT SPADE] Fixed an issue with Kozak where he would slide away when a user shoots him while he is giving his briefing.
• Fixed an issue with the Buchon Marcus Jensen causing him to have the wrong animation in certain cases.
• Fixed an issue where completing all Main Game missions showed only 98% completion.

PC

• Improved performance when using Nvidia Ansel with Nvidia driver 418.91.
• Fixed an issue in Ghost mode where weapons switch back to default between play sessions.
• Fixed an issue in Guerrilla mode where subtitles would only show for the host of a party in a co-op session.

Store + Items

• Fixed a visual issue with the ACU shirt clipping with female character costume parts.
• Fixed an issue where players would not receive their bonus XP from XP boosters.
• The Night Vision effect from Fast Panoramic NVGs, Fast Special NVGs, and High Cut Spec. NVGs no longer use the old Night Vision (Green) filter, instead of using the newer (yellow) filter.
• The AOR1 camo now uses more authentic colors/patterns.

• Fixed an issue forbidding the player from buying Crates & Boosters in DLCs.
