Dead by Daylight Endgame Collapse Introduced, Check Out How It Works in New Trailer

If you’re a Dead by Daylight player, you’re in for some good news. Developer Behaviour Interactive is introducing the Dead by Daylight endgame collapse, which should make matches be less frustrating for (almost) everyone involved.

In order to improve the overall trials gameplay experience, we are introducing the Endgame Collapse, a new phase that pushes all lingering Survivors to escape before being claimed by The Entity. The Endgame Phase will raise the stakes, urging The Killers and Survivors to make tough decisions while under the pressure of a timer.

Yep, this should help playing as the killer be more enjoyable, no? Granted, it should have been implemented into the game way earlier, but at least it’s in the game now.

Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer horror survival game where players are pitted 1v4 against a killer (also player controller). Released for PCs back in 2016, it was released on the PS4 and Xbox One in 2017, and will be released later this year for the Nintendo Switch.

The Division 2 Maintenance Schedule for Today Listed, Along With Today’s Patch Notes

While Ubisoft just took down the servers for The Division 2 earlier this week for planned maintenance, it seems the publisher is doing it again today. Starting in a few minutes is today’s The Division 2 maintenance, and it’ll once again last for three hours.

The Division 2 servers will be down for maintenance on Thursday, April 18 at 09:30 AM CEST / 03:30 AM EDT / 12:30 AM PDT, and estimated downtime is for three hours.

Below are the patch notes players should expect to be implemented in the game once the servers are back up.

Patch Notes:

  • Fixed an issue where players were able to receive unlimited Snitch heroic bounties.
  • Fixed another issue where players were stuck after being revived while having a DoT state active.
  • Fixed other issues relating to players being stuck after revival.
  • Lowered NPC damage and health above normal difficulty.
  • Increased variety of NPCs spawned at higher difficulty levels.
  • Difficulty has been significantly decreased in Hard, moderately reduced in Challenge, and barely reduced in Heroic.
  • Fixed an issue related to Elite NPC aggressiveness in Heroic / Alert Level 4.
  • Reduced the damage output of Named bosses.

For more on The Division 2, make sure to read up on the upcoming PvP changes Ubisoft Massive has planned. The dev team has also announced that the title update that will bring The Division 2 to 3.0 has been pushed back to May, which means the game’s first-ever Raid has been delayed too.

New Metal Slug Game Coming to Consoles and Neo Geo According to SNK

Remember Metal Slug? The cartoon-y Contra-esque shoot-’em-up from SNK? If you’re looking for a new Metal Slug game, well, you’re about to get your wish! SNK has confirmed that a new Metal Slug game is indeed headed to consoles, and Neo Geo versions 2 and 3!

Note that this is a new Metal Slug game and not the same ones that are released for mobile (woo-hoo!). It’s unspecific which consoles will be getting this new Metal Slug title, but I’d guess the PS4 and Xbox One are good bets, and possibly the Nintendo Switch.

This is good news for those who prefer co-op rather than head-on multiplayer, and the games are almost always so damn fun.

For reference, the last major Metal Slug game released was Metal Gear 7 released way back in 2009 for the Nintendo DS. The PS4 and Xbox did get Metal Slug XX, though that’s a revised version of Metal Gear 7 than a new game altogether.

Xbox One S All Digital Announced, Here Are the Details

If you’re not thinking of buying a PS5 or the next-gen Xbox anytime soon, or just want a new Xbox One, then this might be up your alley — provided you buy your games digitally. Microsoft has announced the Xbox One S All Digital edition, which is, as you guessed it, purely digital (ie: no disc drive), though it will come with a 1TB HDD.

The Xbox One S All Digital costs $249.99, and will be out this May 7, 2019. It’ll be bundled with three games: Minecraft, Forza Horizon 3, and Sea of Thieves. Check out the announcement trailer below.

In addition to the bundled games, Microsoft mentions that the Xbox One S All Digital Edition will come with a special offer for the Xbox Game Pass, though with the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate already announced, you might want to hold off on that.

Given how almost every game and gamer is connected to the internet these days, shifting to an all digital platform might make sense to some.

The Division 2 Upcoming PvP Changes Outlined in Latest State of the Game

Earlier today, Ubisoft did another State of the Game livestream for The Division 2. While we already know that the big 3.0 update has been delayed to sometime in May, the developers over at Ubisoft Massive still talked a lot about The Division 2 upcoming PvP changes they’re planning to implement.

Thanks to Reddit user JokerUnique, we have this week’s State of the Game summary! Note that the changes below are being tested on the PTS (Public Test Server) on PC, and will only apply to PvP content, which includes the Dark Zone.

Normalization Changes

These are the changes they are planning for the Normalization that will be tested out on the PTS.

These changes are ONLY for PVP content and it will apply to Conflict, Normalized Dark Zone and Occupied Dark Zone.

Normalizing mechanics

  • The Equipment and weapons will be normalized to GS 500 (even if your GS is higher)
  • That also means, that they are no longer normalizing for a middle ground, but they are respecting the rolls on your gear. That means when you had an item with a very high crit chance roll, it will be like that in normalized content.
  • Skill Power will also be respected and when the mods are active in PVE, they will also be active in normalized content.

Global PVP Modifiers

  • The PVP damage modifier will be reduced from 70% to 40% and that will bring the Time to Kill down to what you experience in PVE. This way, you have more time to react.
  • The Skill Damage modifier will be increased from 20% to 25%, so that should make your skills more effective.
  • Overall the encounters should last longer overall and the skills should be more useful.

Occupied Dark Zone PVP Modifiers

  • They have also added a specific ODZ PVP damage modifier
  • Currently it sits at 40% – same as the normalized DZ – but they have the ability to specifically fine-tune the ODZ depending on how things change.
  • That should also help to lower the Time To Kill in the ODZ

PVP Modifiers for Weapon Archetypes

  • They will add specific PVP modifiers for specific weapon types.
  • For example, they can specifically buff the Assault Rifle in PVP now.
  • That also enables for specific PVP balancing, because the damage of the weapon is overwritten by the PVP Modifiers when you enter PVP content.

Hip fire Changes

  • In PVP content you will not be able to crit when you hip-fire
  • In PVE it behaves as it is now.

Dark Zone

Loot Changes

  • NDZ and ODZ will drop less clean loot and more contaminated loot, they want players to engage in the Loot Extraction – loop.
  • Named bosses guarantee contaminated loot and higher leveled landmark bosses have the ability to drop multiple items.

Landmark Cooldown

  • Landmarks got a cooldown once they are cleared before they become activate again (about a minute)
  • That should also encourage more player movement and not just farming the same Landmark.

Dark Zone NPC Balancing

  • The NPCs in the Dark Zone will be less lethal, but they will also have more armor.

Rogue Loop Changes

  • They removed the Rogue Cooldown when you die
  • The Rogue-Toggle cooldown will stay, so you will not be able to spam that.
  • Dark Zone Perk was also changed that it will no longer reduce the Rogue Timer cooldown, but you will lose less XP when you die as a rogue agent.

Dark Zone Pouch increased

  • You will be able to carry more Contaminated items.
  • Default is 6 items per bag
  • The Character Perks were also changed – The Tier 1 Perk will increase the bag-size to 8
  • The Dark Zone Perk will increase the bag-size to 10 in total.

Preventing Empty Dark Zones

  • They plan multiple changes to “guarantee” that you encounter 12 players in a Dark Zone instance.
  • They are reducing the amount of Dark Zone Brackets to 2. Everyone below Character Level 30 and everybody in Endgame.
  • Not all changes will be implemented with Title Update 3 – there is more in the queue down the line.

Player Count increase in DZ is not planned

  • First they are implementing the changes that the player count per Dark Zone Instance is 12 because that is already a completely different experience than what it is now.
  • But they know it is empty now and they want to adress that.

Occupied Dark Zone changes

  • The ODZ specific damage modifier was already mentioned
  • They also lower the XP loss when you die in the ODZ

GS 515 Items will drop in the Dark Zone

  • In endgame Dark Zone you will be able to get GS 515 items.

I want to start off by saying the raid will drop the highest gear score (TBA), not the Dark Zones. As we’ve been transparent with our thoughts and decisions up until this point, we will continue to do so going forward. While we do want to experiment with Dark Zone rewards, we’re taking everyone’s feedback into account. It’s still super early and we want to see how the content and looting plays on live. That’s not to say things cannot be tweaked.

=> Official Forum

Thieves Den Changes

  • When you get the special ammo there, you are now allowed to weapon swap.
  • There are also more changes panned to the Thieves Den to make it more attractive – but no further details were given.

Future Changes to the Occupied Dark Zone

These changes are planned, but they will not be implemented with Title Update 3

  • Rogue and Manhunt Loop will be added to the ODZ (no grey rogues)
  • The NPC-Patrols will also be lowered and more or less limited to the Landmarks so that it does not have such a big impact on PVP.

Conflict

UI Change

  • The UI will now display the real value of the armor and not a standard value. So when a player has a ton of armor, you will see that displayed accordingly.

Boost Change

  • The Boosts (damage and armor) that become active over the course of a match will be lowered by 50%. They should have an impact but not that big as it is now.

Synchronizing Team Spawns

  • The chance that you spawn with a teammate is increased so that you don’t just spawn alone and die

Conflict NPC will be more Visible

  • There is an NPC beneath the helicopter in front of the Base of Operation where you can matchmake for conflict. They will make that NPC more visible.

Skill Cooldown Respected

  • The Skill cooldown will be respected now after you die.
  • So when the skill was on cooldown, it will stay on cooldown when you respawn.
  • That should also lower the skill-spam

Exotic / Talents / Gear

These are some general explanations about their philosophy around the Exotics, the Gear and the Talent design and balancing.

Exotics

  • Exotic should feel special
  • They don’t have to do the most damage, they should also promote a fun and unique playstyle that does not have to be the most effective one.
  • They are not always centered around raw DPS
  • But that being said – they still buff the damage of the exotics across the board.
  • Pestilence will be buffed specifically and it will also get even more effective in PVP.

”Just buff everything”

  • We are in the process of aligning the game
  • But there is only so high you can go and that causes issues when you add new World Tiers for example.
  • So at the moment they are aligning the items, the activities and the talents so that it is fun to play and then they go from there.
  • They know that nerfing items is not popular, but it also makes things more diverse.

Talent Changes

These are the changes that are currently tested on the PTS.

The old values are in ()

Unhinged

  • Damage bonus reduced to 20% (25%) / Handling reduced to 25% (35%)

  • Require 11 defensive attributes

Critical

  • Reduce critical hit damage bonus from 8% to 5%

NPC Changes

While these are some drastic changes in some cases, they are also changing the health of NPCs – so just because you need some of the talents to be effective in heroic difficulty now – they are not necessarily mandatory in the new big picture and the new balancing.

Other quality of life changes

  • Players can toggle displaying personal and group loot drops now
  • Text chat will now lose focus after sending a message
  • Group tab will be populated with all raid members

No word yet on when we’ll see these changes implemented in the game, but once we do, we’ll let our readers know.

Mortal Kombat 11 Online Connection Required to Unlock Gear, Access Krypt, Tower of Time and Even Achievements

We’re just a few days away from Mortal Kombat 11’s release, and if you’re planning on picking it up but don’t have a stable internet connection, or planning to play it offline, you might want to read this bit first.

A NetherRealm Studios employee revealed via Twitter (tweet has since been pulled) that certain parts of the game will be inaccessible if you’re not connected to the internet. While this doesn’t mean that a Mortal Kombat 11 online connection is required to play the game, prepare to not be able to unlock gear and play certain modes.

Fortunately for us, the ResetEra member Tyaren has been able to verify this info via an early copy, and even after applying the day one patch, certain modes are still unavailable offline according to him. Currently the modes and stuff that you won’t be able to access without an internet connection in Mortal Kombat 11 are: The Krypt, Towers of Time, earn gear, and even earn Achievements/Trophies!

While some might argue that the Tower of Time has always been an online-only mode, don’t forget that Injustice 2 — which was also developed by NetherRealm — had the Multiverse mode that allowed players to earn gear and play it offline.

Is this a big deal for you? Or is your preferred gaming platform of choice that this is a non-issue? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

The Last of Us 2 Ending Has Been Shot Says Naughty Dog

While we haven’t heard anything regarding The Last of Us Part II in a while, Naughty Dog VP and writer/director of The Last of Us Part II, Neil Druckmann, has confirmed that shooting the game’s end scene has been completed.

This was confirmed by Druckmann himself over on Twitter, where he posted a shot of the of script with the words “The End” at the, uh, end.

Mind you, Naughty Dog saying they completed The Last of Us 2 ending doesn’t mean development on the game is done. We don’t know if they’re shooting scenes in order, how long development will be, bug testing and more. Add in that the game has a multiplayer mode, and well, you can see how this is no guarantee that we’ll see The Last of Us 2 out this year.

Having said that though, remember that The Last of Us Part II did appear on PSN’s “Coming Soon” tab under other titles released in 2019, so anything’s possible.

Will The Last of Us 2 make it out in 2019? I sure hope so. Do you think it will or will Sony push this to 2020 as the console’s last “big” game before the PS5 is released?

Anthem Duplicate Vinyl Is Rotated 45 Degrees, Changed Color & Is Tagged as Uncommon & Different, Check the Image Out

It’s hard to dispute that even close to two months after launch, Anthem isn’t in a very good spot right now. The community is not happy with where the game is, and how the loot system works, and it seems one issue keeps cropping up one after another.

Well, it looks like yet another thing to gripe about has arisen today. Over on the Anthem subreddit, user Ryknor started a thread titled “Laziness over 9000!!!” which is a dig at the BioWare devs being lazy when it comes to the game’s cosmetics. Jokingly, the poster comments on how to make a good vinyl — what Anthem calls its cosmetic visual overlays — is to just rotate the icon a few degrees, change its color and call it a day. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what BioWare did for this Anthem duplicate vinyl! Below, you’ll see the decal “Rattle and Bite” side by side with the “End Times” decal, and well, I’ll let you decide how different these two “Uncommon” Anthem vinyls are.

I don’t know about you, but this Anthem vinyl should just be one and the same, right? That said, I’m not a developer, so what do I know.

Do you think this is a cause for concern, or just overreaction on the community’s end? Sound off and let us know in the comments below.

Microsoft Announces Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Combo of Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass

If you’re planning to re-up your subscription to Xbox Live, you might want to consider going for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. It’s Microsoft’s new two-in-one Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass subscription that lets you play online, and will net you to access to over a hundred games for a single price!

Priced at $14.99, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate has no definite release date yet other than “later this year.” Here’s some key questions answered by Microsoft’s FAQ about it:

With E3 right around the corner, and Microsoft confirming it’ll be holding a press conference, maybe the release date will be announced then? Yep, that sounds likely.

This is honestly not a bad deal, and I wouldn’t be surprised if other companies follow suit.

Battlefield 5 New Game Mode Release Date Set for Tomorrow, Here’s Everything You Need to Know About Grind

Remember when we reported that a few new game modes will be coming to Battlefield 5, and one of them — called “Grind” — is set for tomorrow! Today, DICE has blown the lid wide open when it comes to Grind, and we’re here to help you get to grips with the new game mode.

According to DICE, the Battlefield 5 new game mode release date is set for Thursday, though it’ll only be available from April 18 to April 24. Grind will be available on four maps: Devastation, Rotterdam, Twisted Steel, and Narvik!

Here’s how to play Grind and how the map is laid out for the game mode (via Battlefield forums):

How to Play Grind
Two opposing teams of 32 compete to capture and hold three flags in this tight variant of Conquest mode, until they exhaust the enemy team’s Respawn Tickets. Your team must fight objective to objective, working to gain control of three key locations across each of the four maps.

Grind is set up on versions of the Narvik, Rotterdam, Devastation, and Twisted Steel maps. Each map is different, but all feature two teams total, three flags to fight over, spawns on team flags, and with a focus on tight, intense infantry combat. Let’s dig in to each map.

Narvik

Grind’s version of Narvik focuses on the railway, with the two uncaps at each end. Capture objectives at each end of the train tracks, with B in the middle.

Rotterdam

Rotterdam, reimagined for Grind, also has a focus on the railway – with combat above, below, and to the sides of it. The derailed, defunct train cars will be hotspots for intense engagement with the enemy.

Devastation

Starting on opposite sides of the church, each team will have an opportunity to capture an objective on their side before heading into the close-quarter combat within the church in Grind’s version of Devastation. Fortifications and Resupply Points will be key.

Twisted Steel

Railways are great settings for Grind, as they keep the gameplay linear, focusing the combat in the middle. Twisted Steel’s redesign for Grind is very tight, and you’ll have plenty of close-quarter combat between the cover points on the rail-bridge.

Once the new game mode is out, we’ll let our readers know.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Game Settings Update Today Adds Free Arsenal Sandstorm Map, Deathmatch Domination & More

Treyarch has once again released a new Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 game settings update today, and this server-side update includes a new alternate weather map called Arsenal Sandstorm! Not only that, but there’s also a new game mode coming to PS4 that might be everyone’s cup of tea given how it’ll let you get scorestreaks easier in Domination!

Here’s the full patch notes for the Black Ops 4 game settings update today (via Reddit):

Arsenal Sandstorm

Hot on the heels of Contraband Hurricane, Arsenal Sandstorm is our most intricate map makeover yet in Black Ops 4. Players will need to adapt their playstyles to waves of sand sweeping across the environment, with limited visibility throughout the facility encouraging shorter-ranged engagements. We’re excited to see how player strategies will evolve on Arsenal Sandstorm, now in rotation on all platforms.

Deathmatch Domination Debuts on PS4

If you’ve ever wished your team could play the objective in Domination even if they’re just there for the streaks, we’ve got great news. Introducing Deathmatch Domination on PS4, a first-of-its-kind mode for the Black Opsseries. In this new take on Domination, teams now have two ways to earn points toward the score limit: by capturing objectives, and by earning kills throughout the match. No matter how you play, you’ll be playing for the team. Get out there and let us know what you think in the comments.

Infected Now Live on All Platforms

Infected is now live in Multiplayer on all platforms! We’ve also made some improvements to gameplay and stability, including the addition of 10 seconds to the game clock instead of 30 when a Survivor becomes infected, to help keep matches from running longer than intended. Check out the patch notes below for what’s new, and if you’re an Infected newbie, be sure to get familiar with the preset Survivor classes so you’re ready to hit the ground running… for your life.

We’ve also made additional updates across all modes since our last community update, including weapon tuning to the Rampart and KN-57, an extension to the final Collapse timing in Blackout’s Alcatraz map, and more. Read on for the full list of what’s new:

The Division 2 Title Update 3 Delayed to May, Ubisoft Doing More Testing and Balancing

While we just got a The Division 2 patch yesterday, some people might be looking forward to the next big title update that brings The Division 2 to 3.0. More importantly than the number, the looter shooter’s first Raid has been pushed back, and there’s no specific release date yet.

In a new post on the game’s official website, Ubisoft has explained the reasoning behind The Division 2 title update 3 delayed release. It’s nothing sinister, rather, the studio is doing further testing and balancing in order to make sure Operation Dark Hours is properly balanced.

Here’s the complete letter Ubisoft penned to The Division 2 fans:

Agents!

The reception for The Division 2 Title Update 2 and Tidal Basin has been generally positive, but we have also received a lot of feedback for improvements from our forums, Reddit, Twitter, and elsewhere.

In order to fine-tune the balance of our game and to ensure the best possible player experience for everyone, we have decided to move the release of Title Update 3—including Operation Dark Hours, our 8-player Raid—from April 25 to May 2019. The final release date of Title Update 3 will be based on results from further testing and balancing of the game. Operation Dark Hours will be your biggest challenge to date, and we want to make sure that we’ve properly tested the large amount of balance changes that are coming to both PvE and PvP and listen to your feedback about the changes before introducing the raid.

The Division 2 is a live game, and the team is committed to improve the quality of all upcoming updates. As announced on State of the Game last week, we are opening a Public Test Server (PTS) for The Division 2 on PC to test further updates and balance changes before they are released. The plan is to structure the PTS in phases, each lasting a few days and focusing on a specific part of the game. We will have surveys and dedicated forum threads (together with our traditional general and technical issues forums) to cover these topics.

The PTS will be available through Uplay to anyone who owns The Division 2 on PC. Starting on Wednesday, April 17, players will be able to try out the new features and fixes coming with Title Update 3. Access to the Raid will not be part of the PTS, so as to ensure the entire community is able to discover it and compete at the same time upon release. We will announce the exact schedule of the Public Test Server and its phases over the next few days.

We thank you all for your patience, and hope you are as excited as we are for the future of The Division 2. Your passion, your support, and all your feedback are incredibly appreciated, and we want to keep working with you, our community, to make the game an even better experience.

Thank you again, Agents, and see you in Washington, D.C.

/The Division Team

I can’t say I blame the devs for doing this. Sure, it’s a hassle for those who want more content to run through ASAP, but I’d rather get a well balanced experience than something pushed out just for the sake of appeasing those who want new content ASAP.

Capcom Home Arcade Announced in New Trailer, Includes 16 Games and Here Are the Details

Yesterday’s new announcement from Capcom didn’t turn out to be a new game, but rather, it’s a new hardware! Capitalizing on the retro craze, the company has announced the Capcom Home Arcade, which is a plug and play hardware that houses Capcom arcade classics!

No actual price has been announced but we know the games list, what it looks like, and even its measurements! It’s set to launch this October 25, 2019, and is being made in conjunction with Koch Media.

capcom home arcade

  • 1994
  • Aliens vs. Predator
  • Armored Warriors
  • Capcom Sports Club
  • Captain Commando
  • Cyberbots
  • Darkstalkers
  • ECO Fighters
  • Final Fight
  • Ghouls ‘n Ghosts
  • Gigawing
  • Mega Man the Power Battle
  • Progear
  • Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting
  • Strider
  • Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo

Official measurements and how it plays:

Again, no price is available yet, so I’m kinda unsure how to feel about this. While I do love me some gaming nostalgia goodness, the fact that it only has 16 games and there’s no mention of online multiplayer (Wi-FI is referred to as being used to upload scores to a leaderboard) is a bit of a weird move.

We’ll wait for more details but what do you think of this so far? What price point do you want to see this hit in order to be worth it?

Sony Believes PS5 Price Will Be “Appealing to Gamers” Given Its Advanced Features

While Sony has today officially talked about the PlayStation 5 or more commonly referred to as the PS5, we don’t know when it’ll be available, and what price it’ll be, which will most likely stay that way until Sony sees fit to announce it officially on their own terms.

Over on Twitter, Wired reporter Peter Rubin posted a transcript of his interview with PS5 Lead Systems Architect Mark Cerny regarding the PS5 price, and well, it’s definitely something.

https://twitter.com/provenself/status/1118212881760174080?s=21

https://twitter.com/provenself/status/1118213067039363073

So: this didn’t make it into my PlayStation story, but given how much people are speculating about the Sony console’s price (esp given the SSD/chip combo), thought I should probably give a tiny little bit of interview transcript on it. (1/2)

Me: There’s always been a general range of launch pricing. Will the next console hew to that range? : I believe that we will be able to release it at an SRP [suggested retail price] that will be appealing to gamers in light of its advanced feature set.

Me: Meaning that it may cost a bit more but what you’re getting is well worth it? : That’s about all I can say about it.

At first glance, this sounds like the PS5 will be affordable, but reading it again, it seems Cerny is hinting that it will be affordable in the sense that if you factor in all the features it packs. It’s like saying a sports car is affordable given how fast it can go and so on.

What do you think will be the PS5 price when it launches at retail? Personally, I’m hoping for something along the $400-$500 range, though I hope Sony puts it at $450.

Battlefield 5 Tutorial Mode Called Basic Training Coming, New Map Locations Named

For Battlefield franchise fans, there’s nothing more infuriating than playing with a teammate that doesn’t know how to heal, resupply, play the objective, and being a generally good teammate. Well, it seems DICE is hoping to alleviate this by introducing a new Battlefield 5 tutorial mode called “Basic Training.

Once again courtesy of Battlefield 5 dataminer temporyal, the game’s files reveal that this Battlefield 5 tutorial mode will be introduced, will be accessible via the main menu, and will teach players the basics on how to play Conquests, and will be narrated by none other than the “Father of Battlefield,” Lars Gustavssson!

Basic Training

DICE is going to introduce a tutorial mission (accessible from the main menu) for “new players” which explains the basics of how to play Conquest and is narrated by Lars Gustavsson (producer at DICE).

It covers various gameplay details:

  • All classes and their roles in Battlefield V
  • How to capture objectives (you do that with an AI controlled squad)
  • How to take out a tank with a Panzerfaust and which weak spots to target
  • Supply stations, ticket system and redeploy explanation

In addition to that, new Battlefield 5 locations have also been unearthed! Check out details regarding “Mercury” and “Marita.”

Mercury and Marita

A few named locations (probably) for the upcoming maps “Mercury” and “Marita” have been added with the latest patches.

I can’t match all of them but you don’t have to a genius to get that “Beach Appartments” belong to “Mercury” with its beautiful beach side.

And if I’m not mistaken you can use one (or more) old cannons (a BF4 naval map had one of those too if I remember correctly) and a radar station which spots enemies nearby on those maps. At least these gameplay concepts are present and located “near” both maps in the files.

Named Locations:

  • AIRFIELD EAST
  • AIRFIELD
  • AIRFIELD WEST
  • BASE CLIFFS
  • CLIFFSIDE ROAD
  • BASE ROAD
  • SUPPLY DOCKS
  • UPPER RIDGE
  • POULOS HOUSE
  • EAST GROVE
  • OLIVE GROVE
  • WEST GROVE
  • COVE
  • SLAUGHTER GULCH
  • SATELLITE
  • MIDDLE RIDGE
  • RUNOFF
  • UPPER VILLAGE
  • COURTYARD
  • VILLAGE
  • FISHING DOCKS
  • ANCIENT ROAD
  • RUINS NORTH
  • BEACHFRONT
  • RUINS WEST
  • BEACH APARTMENTS
  • RUINS EAST
  • RADAR

Remember, folks, these unearthed game files are not guaranteed will be available in the game, though the chances of it happening is very high given DICE did include them there in the latest patch.

You should also check out the items included in the Armory update released earlier today.

Xbox E3 2019 Press Conference Schedule Announced

While Sony will be foregoing this year’s E3 in favor of smaller video presentations, gamers won’t be left hanging when it comes to E3 bombshells. Aside from Ubisoft and Bethesda, Microsoft has now confirmed that the company will be holding its annual E3 presser!

Related Reading: EA Play 2019: No EA E3 2019 Press Conference Planned, Multiple Livestreams Planned as Replacements

Announced today on the official Xbox website, the Xbox E3 2019 press conference schedule is set for June 9 at 1 p.m. PDT/4 p.m. EDT! Same as in every year, expect a livestream to be available minutes before the press conference starts.

Will we get new game announcements? That’s almost a lock. Will we get a glimpse of the next-gen Xbox? Seeing as Sony seems to be lifting the lid on the PS5, I wouldn’t bet against that happening.

What do you want to see from Microsoft in this year’s Xbox E3 2019 press conference?

First Official PS5 Info Revealed: Will Be Backwards Compatible With PS4, Use SSD, Won’t Be Out This Year

While more and more rumors and reports regarding Sony’s next-gen console, which we assume will be called the PS5, has been making the rounds, we now have our first official PS5 info and it comes from Sony nonetheless!

In a new exclusive by Wired, some key PS5 specs have now been confirmed, as well as a lot of important questions answered. In the article, it’s confirmed that PS4 Lead Systems Architect Mark Cerny is once again at the helm for the PS5, and he even demos some tech for the people to pore over.

Possibly the biggest takeaways from it is that the confirmation that the PS5 will be backwards compatible with PS4 games, the next-gen console will use an SSD (Solid State Drive) for faster processing, PlayStation VR will also be backwards compatible and will be play a major role in PS5, and confirmtation that the PS5 won’t be out in 2019.

Here’s a quick and handy summary by the fine folks over at ResetEra:

  • Mark Cerny is once again the Lead System Architect.
  • 8 core AMD 7nm Zen 2 based on third generation Ryzen.
  • Ray-tracing support with custom AMD Navi GPU.
  • Custom AMD unit for 3D Audio, also aided by ray-tracing, a big upgrade. Hot on the heels of Sony having acquired near-industry-standard AudioKinetic.
  • Extremely fast high-end custom SSD storage faster than any solution currently available for PC:
    Spider-Man load times on PS4 Pro: 15 seconds → 0.8 seconds on next-gen PlayStation. That’s ~19x faster!
Huge practical game changer opening up for new design opportunities.
  • Technically supports 8K but Cerny demoed Spider-Man load speed improvements on a 4K screen (I would only take this as confirmation of HDMI 2.1).
  • New Virtual Reality platform strongly hinted at but also supports current PSVR (meaning millions of VR users ‘day one’).
  • Death Stranding might be a cross-gen title (speculation in article based on Cerny reply).
  • Physical Media.
  • Backwards Compatible with at least PS4.
  • Devkit is with developers and they recently accelerated its deployment.
  • Four years in development so far.
  • 2020.

Note that all PS5 info listed above are the real deal, and not reports or rumors.

Are you happy with what’s known so far? Let’s hope that Sony manages to sell the PS5 at a good enough price point that it won’t be the same as the PS3 launch fiasco.
