Star Wars Battlefront II Launch Trailer Teaches That “Heroes Are Born on the Battlefront”

Star Wars Battlefront II is set to release on November 17, coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One. In preparation for that day, why not check out the new launch trailer? It features many of the playable heroes, cutting between single-player and multiplayer gameplay.

Enough talk, go give it a watch below:

Heroes are born on the battlefront, and in Star Wars Battlefront 2, you’re able to experience it for yourself. Play as heroes from all three eras of Star Wars in massive battles across iconic locations, and take part in a thrilling single-player story as Iden Versio fights to avenge the Emperor.

I think it’s a great trailer, though it mostly uses in-engine footage as opposed to actual gameplay. We’re still waiting to see Yoda and Kylo Ren in action, c’mon!

What do you think of the trailer? Are you hyped for the November 17 release? Let me know in the comments below.

In other Star Wars Battlefront II news, the progression system has been tweaked due to player feedback, the game has now gone gold, and the Galactic Assault maps have been officially named and revealed

Battlefield 1 “Community” Now at Over 23.5m According to EA

With EA releasing Battlefield games almost every year, it’s definitely an indicatior on how well the franchise sells. While no official sales numbers have been released for DICE’s latest entry in the franchise, Battlefield 1, it’s safe to say that it’s been a huge success for the publisher so far.

Just how much of a success? Try over 23 million players engaged! In EA’s latest Q2 2018 financial report, it states that “The BattlefieldTM 1 community grew to more than 23.5 million players worldwide.” Granted, it doesn’t mean unique players, total players registered or whatnot, but 23.5 million is still a big, big number.

Hopefully, we’ll get a more concrete idea of what “community” means to EA. If ever we do, we’ll be sure to update the post. As someone who’s a huge fan of the franchise, congrats, DICE! You deserve it.

In related Battlefield 1 news, a free map is headed to the game which can be played by anyone who owns the base game. For something more fun, check out how to trigger the Battlefield Friends Easter egg to hear the BF Noob in the game.

With the Tricks and Treats patch comes a new set of Elite Weapon skins including 3 Limited edition spooky skins to celebrate Halloween. The Halloween Skins and Bundle will be available for a LIMITED TIME ONLY and will be removed from the store on 11/28 so get them while you can!

Each of these skins comes with a Squad Leader Bonus which gives:

  • 10% chance per owner Elite Weapon [up to 30%] to earn a double xp token at the end of a match.
  • Grants 1 extra merit to you and your teammates as the end of a match. A player can only receive this bonus once per match.

GAME UPDATES

  • We have new Featured Modes to introduce that will be added to the existing rotation.
  • We’ve taken another look at Pistols and heard your feedback. Expect to see some changes for Mozambique and Wingman Elite.
  • You will also see some adjustments made to Attrition, Frontier Defense, and Reapers.

More info to come at the end of the week!

You can check out the weapon skin images here.

While there might not be more maps coming anytime soon, Respawn has confirmed we’ll see three patches (this is one of ’em) rolled out for Titanfall 2 before 2017 is up.

Star Wars Battlefront II Progression Updated by EA to Reflect Feedback

Possibly one of the major complaints from those who played the Star Wars Battlefront II beta (which we also touched upon), is the tendency of the game to be slanted to those willing to spend actual cash to get as many Star Cards as they want via loot crates, which can skew the multiplayer balance. While EA has already addressed some of the concerns, it seems the publisher wants to make things right.

Over on the game’s official site, a new update regarding Star Wars Battlefront II’s progression has been posted by EA, and it made some very welcome changes in terms of classes, and what they can unlock, as well as a significant change in how Star Cards can be obtained.

  • Epic Star Cards, the highest tier of Star Cards available at launch, have been removed from Crates. To help keep everyone on a level playing field, these Star Cards will primarily be available through crafting, with the exception of special Epic Star Cards available through pre-order, deluxe, and starter packs.
  • You’ll need to reach a certain rank to craft upgraded Star Cards. You won’t be able to buy a bunch of Crates, grind everything up into crafting materials, and immediately use them to get super powerful Star Cards. You can only upgrade the ability to craft higher tier Star Cards by ranking up through playing the game.
  • Weapons are locked behind specific milestones. While a select few will be found in Crates, the rest can only be attained by play. Want to unlock a new weapon for your Heavy? Play as a Heavy and you’ll gain access to the class’s new weapons.
  • Class-specific gear and items can be unlocked by playing as them. As you progress through your favorite class, you’ll hit milestones granting you class-specific Crates. These will include a mix of Star Cards and Crafting Parts to benefit your class’s development.

These changes will be implemented at launch. EA has also mentioned that this system, as well as the other game mechanics, will be “continually iterated and improved.”

Star Wars Battlefront II is set to ship this November 17 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC, and is already in gold status. Make sure to check out the list of official maps in Galactic Assault mode as well to see what awaits in Battlefront II’s main multiplayer mode.

Report: Call of Duty: WWII Servers for Multiplayer Are Online Right Now

While we previously reported that a 9GB patch was deployed on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One that made the Call of Duty: WWII single-player and Zombies mode playable (except multiplayer) for those who got early release copies, it seems Sledgehammer Games might have had a change of heart, as multiple reports have come in that the COD: WWII multiplayer servers are now online!

This was “confirmed” by Twitter user KaLLex who posted a screenshot of the player loadout screen, as well as the lobby.

Will this mean people will go up against Prestige players who’ve had the game for days when Call of Duty: WWII launches this Friday? Most likely yes, unless Sledgehammer Games does a stat wipe and let everyone come in fresh. Then again, these same people will undoubtedly have learned the maps, so they’ll still get an advantage or two either way.

While you’re waiting for the official release of COD: WWII, don’t forget to check out the complete list of Basic Training perks players will be able to equip on day one.

MP1st will have a review of COD: WWII very soon, and it will comprise of the single-player, Zombies mode, and of course, the multiplayer portion.

Battlefield 1 Free Map for Everyone Announced, Nivelle Night Maps Being Given Out in November

Here’s some good news for Battlefield 1 players: DICE is rolling out a free map for everyone very, very soon! Originally only available to Battlefield 1 Premium members and They Shall Not Pass expansion owners, Nivelle Nights will soon be free to everyone “starting early November!”

Here’s a brief backstory on the map, which is based on a real-world location, in case you didn’t know.

Just over 100 years ago, in the foggy and cold night of October 23, 1917, the French Battle of La Malmaison began. It was a carefully planned offensive with limited goals, focused on capturing the strategically important and heavily fortified Chemin des Dames ridge. With advanced artillery tactics and tank support, the French forced the Germans to give up the ridge by November 1.

Additionally, DICE has issued a reminder that Operations Campaign is coming early November. We reported about it before, but just in case you forgot, Operations Campaign strings together multiple Operations and adds unique rewards to the mix for participating. For the first Operation Campaign, titled “Easter Storm,” it will combine Operations from In the Name of the Tsar expansion (Brusilov Offensive and Red Tide), and will be available for BF1 Premium Pass members, or those who own the In the Name of the Tsar expansion.

In other BF1 news, check out some Incursions gameplay to see how eSports will work with Battlefield 1.

Will you be playing this Battlefield 1 free map when it launches? Once it’s available, we’ll be sure to let everyone know.

Dota 2 Dueling Fates Update Introduces New Heroes, Game Mode & More

The Dota 2 Dueling Fates Update is now live. The main additions are the two heroes: Dark Willow and Pangolier.

And neither arrives to the fight empty-handed. Each hero has a debut Immortal item available in the Emblems of the Dueling Fates bundle, which also contains a Ward set, courier, and taunts for both heroes.

As well as these two new characters, Valve has also added a new Guide System Upgrade, which allows you to view Hero guides in the “learn tab.” There’s also a new game mode called “Turbo Mode,” which gives more experience and gold to heroes and a decreased match time.

Find the large list of patch notes below:

DRAFTING
All Pick drafting order is now: A-BB-AA-BB-AA-B
Each day 10 heroes are selected automatically as bonus heroes for the day. Bonus heroes provide you with a free mango on selection (cannot be sold).
Randoming no longer gives bonus gold. It instead selects a hero from the set of bonus heroes and grants an extra iron branch (in addition to the mango).
Removed repicking

LANING
Middle lane no longer has an additional melee creep.
Creeps now meet closer to each team’s respective safelanes.
Denies XP granted to the enemy (the player being denied) reduced from 70% to 25%
Denied XP gained by the denier reduced from 30% to 25%
Neutrals killing lane creeps is now considered the same as the enemy creeps killing them—it’s not a deny, and gives full XP. You must deny the creep yourself to deny its XP.
Total Wave XP (the 4 creeps) increased from 210 to 240
Melee Creeps XP increased from 40 to 57
Range Creeps XP reduced from 90 to 69 (result of both changes is 240)
Melee creep bounty increased by 4
Range creep bounty increased by 12 (overall total gold per wave increased by 24)
First neutral creep spawn changed from 30 seconds to 1 minute
Base hero-kill XP bounty (non-assist portion) for level 1-5 reduced from 100/120/140/160/180 to 30/60/90/120/150 (You still get extra XP for hero kills from the assist formula)
XP range increased from 1300 to 1500
XP required to go from level 1 to level 2 reduced from 240 to 200
XP required to go from level 2 to level 3 increased from 360 to 400
Tier 1 tower HP increased from 1400 to 1600

TOWN PORTAL SCROLLS
Heroes now start with a TP Scroll. TP scrolls start on cooldown at the beginning of the game.

SHRINES AND GLYPH
Removed Shrines from the base (replaced by filler buildings)
Glyph now causes your creeps to be invulnerable for the glyph duration.

CREEPS
Extra siege creep now spawns at 30 minutes instead of 40 minutes.
Siege creep HP increased by 50
Fixed extra lane creeps spawning a minute too late (the ones at 15/30/40/45 minutes for melee/melee/range/melee).
Lane Creeps upgrade amount is now capped at Mega Creeps (previously, if a game went on for over ~4 hours, it was possible for creeps to be stronger than mega).

You can find the entire list of patch notes here.

What do you think to this huge patch? Let us know below.

Here’s the Complete Call of Duty: WWII Basic Training List Available at Launch

[tps_header]

In case you didn’t know, some enterprising people didn’t care much for Call of Duty: WWII’s retail sell date of November 3, and have sold copies to quite a number of individuals. Having said that, Sledgehammer Games made it so a patch was needed in order for people to play even the single-player campaign and Nazi Zombies mode. Fast forward a few days, and the studio then released a 9GB patch for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One that made the single-player and Zombies mode playable.

While multiplayer is still a no-go, people can enter the multiplayer portion of the game offline, and look around to see what sort of stuff can be obtained, tweaked and so on. One of the things people might be looking forward to is the complete list of Basic Training skills that will be available at launch. For those who haven’t been keeping tabs on the game, Basic Training replaces the standard perks in multiplayer, and only one (as far as we know) can be equipped at any given time. Check out the complete Basic Training list in COD: WWII below

PUBG Xbox Release Date Announced, Confirmed to Be Coming Before Year’s End

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has taken the PC platform by storm, and will soon look to do the same on Xbox. Developer Bluehole promised to hit an Xbox release date target of 2017, and it looks like they’ll succeed!

During the Xbox special event” stream, the PUBG Xbox release date was confirmed to be December 12, 2017. It will be priced at $29.99.

Not only has Microsoft partnered with Bluehole for console launch exclusivity — a PS4 version has yet to be officially confirmed! — PUBG is also going to be switching from Amazon provided servers to Microsoft’s Azure platform.

With the insane success experienced by PUBG on PC, it’s looking likely that the game will do wonders on Xbox One and the soon-to-be-launched Xbox One X.

Epic Games’ Fortnite may have gotten an early start, and stolen a little of PUBG‘s thunder, but I think the console crowd will be happy to embrace another battle royale experience.

What do you think of PUBG coming to Xbox?

In other Xbox news, here’s November’s Games With Gold selection that’s soon to be available, take a look at this Xbox One X unboxing and all that’s contained in the retail edition, and sigh a sad sigh about the death of Kinect.

Destiny 2 Best Grenade Testing & Analysis Ranks All 27 Types

Destiny 2 character customization allows for an assortment of grenades to be equipped. Each subclass has three different grenades available to them, which makes for a total of 27 grenades in the game.

When it comes to determining the most powerful grenade and which class it belongs to, a great amount of testing has to be done. This is where Reddit user DrFace007, and two friends, come in. They’ve tried out every grenade type and measured the damage. DrFace007 then compiled the results into a handy list, which shows that the Nightstalker Hunter’s Voidwall takes the win.

1 – Hunter-Nightstalker-Voidwall 39,387 Damage
2 – Hunter-Nightstalker-Spike 29,652
3 – Warlock-Dawnblade-Solar (With Sunbracers) 29,032 (+/- 500) (15,348 without sunbracers) Damage
4 – Titan-Striker-Lightning 28,426 Damage
5 – Titan-Striker-Pulse 28,388 Damage
6 – Hunter-Nightstalker-Vortex 26,498 Damage
7 – Warlock-Stormcaller-Pulse 20,828 Damage
8 – Titan-Sunbreaker-Thermite 19,500 (+/- 2,000) Damage
9 – Titan-Sentinel-Voidwall 19,496 Damage
10 – Warlock-Voidwalker-Vortex 17,048 (Charged) Damage
11 – Warlock-Voidwalker-Scatter 6,397 (Charged) (+/- 500) Damage
12 – Hunter-Gunslinger-Tripmine 6,048 Damage
13 – Warlock-Stormcaller-Storm 5,292 Damage
14 – Hunter-Gunslinger-Incendiary 4,991 Damage
15 – Titan-Sunbreaker-Incendiary 4,991 Damage
16 – Hunter-Gunslinger-Swarm 4,624 (+/- 500) Damage
17 – Titan-Striker-Flashbang 4,574 Damage
18 – Titan-Sentinel-Magnetic 4,574 Damage
19 – Titan-Sentinel-Supressor 4,574 Damage
20 – Titan-Sunbreaker-Fusion 3,818 Damage
21 – Hunter-Arcstrider-Flux 3,818 Damage
22 – Warlock-Dawnblade-Fusion 3,818 Damage
23 – Warlock-Voidwalker-Axion Bolt 3,478 (Charged) Damage
24 – Warlock-Dawnblade-Firebolt 3,440 Damage
25 – Hunter-Arcstrider-Arcbolt 3,402 Damage
26 – Warlock-Stormcaller-Arcbolt 3,402 Damage
27 – Hunter-Arcstrider-Skip 2,627 (+/- 150) Damage

DrFace007 does note that, while the Nightstalker Hunter can do most damage per grenade, the Striker Titan out-damages it with the ability to hold two grenades.
